Went against everything the manual has written, and this thing is still rolling. First week I constantly took it out and abused it. (It was my first RC, I had no idea wtf I was doin.) I submerged it in not only water several times, but also thick mud pits, made to eat this thing alive. I've used LiPo on NiMh mode and visa versa a couple times on accident. The safety features prevented a fire of any sort cause I'm still running the original esc. Everytime I have had to replace a part, it was USER ERROR. The lockers and 2 speed trans make it much more scale, and is tons of fun. I swapped the body out for an FJ40 from proline and did my own custom paint job too!

RTR out of the box, put a battery in and WOW! Awesome trail/crawler, so much fun. I love the lockable differentials and two speed transmission for low and slow or a quick run down the trail a simple flick of the switch. Very reliable, and with a decent Lipo it has incredible run times. Waterproof electronics, highly controllable, good performance, good features. Lots of upgrade and replacment parts available! Looks awesome.

The TRX4 is amazing. The ability to lock the diffs and have a two speed trans makes this super fun and climb anything. The only downside with the defender is it's top heavy due to the body. If I could do it over again if buy the TRX4 build kit becauebit comes with everything except a body and I'd buy a Jeep or other body to customize with the intent to keep the center of gravity as low as possible.

This is my first hobby grade RC and basically the reason I purchased another Traxxas product (Teton) for my son. I'm a gear head so tinkering on this thing for fun is my favorite past time. Not to say you need to do anything to it. It's an amazing machine right out of the box. The only issue (widely known) is the weak steering servo that I had to replace. Other than that, I love this little truck!

Traxxas you are amazing another well built vehicle thank you. For people that left bad reviews, you should do a bit of research before buying anythin not just rc. You will need a charger and battery. Stearing servo is a little week but I havnt had any problems. Also a little top heavy but traxxas also offers this in two othe body's a little lighter. Thanks again for another quality product!

Get the "Traxxas 8247X Metal Servo Horn with it, its less than $10 and you will need it. Also, get a big battery, 5000 mAh that will give you enough power to bring it on a walk of a couple of miles. In addition, got a plastic thumb control for one handed operation, a must have in my opinion, frees up both arms for balance at least while walking, I walk with a walking pole so its a must.

I bought the Traxxas trx4 Land Rover for my daughter and I to have fun with. This thing is a blast. I was looking at the Axial JL gladiator also but chose this one because of the higher top end speed. The front and rear lockers are awesome as is the 2 speed transmission. Amazed at what it can crawl over and has enough speed to have fun ripping around the yard too. Totally recommend it!

I have owned Traxxas products in the past so, I expected quality and durability. The TRX-4 Land Rover has met and exceeded my expectations. it crawls, it climbs, goes through water over it's hood and then unlock the differentials, put in high "gear" and it runs as fast as most "street" cars. Only drawback is that it won't hover when airborne.

I love the truck and have modified it a lot already, I would keep in mind though that the stock steering servo might last a little while if your lucky so I would have an upgrade ready for when the stock one goes out but other then that with a 7600 mah battery this thing is great! Highly recommend for a new to r/c

I watched lots of YouTube videos about the TRX4 and other scale crawlers before deciding to buy.This is one tough toy !!! I have about 8 hours of hard use in the snow and mud. Once I’m done all I do is hose it down and let it drip dry.Only issue was the front dif micro servo died on about the 4 battery.

I just did a few small upgrades axles and all the steering parts turn to Brass a lot heavier. It crawls great I out crawl 90% of the people out there crawling all I have to learn is a little bit more control and the car is perfect takes a beginner To a big contender within a few drives it does the work

This beast is great. Top heavy - sure. I chase my dogs with this then go crawling. Snow and mud are my new best friends. I love getting through the mess with the differential lock. The stock wheels are okay if you just want to crawl. Some large wheels will fit on here if you adjust the bumpers length.

I love this truck!. It also has a plethora of hop up parts that you can get for it (Proline, RC4WD, Hot Racing) to make it really scale. Traxxas really did a great job in designing this vehicle. I just ordered the Traxas light kit, and it installs very cleanly.

ive ran it and ran it hard. only thing ive found is the servo is weak. it is top heavy. it is VERY fast too. never seems to run out of power. tires work good but could use an upgrade. lots of internal metal components. Great for the money

This is extremely fun. It is fast, stable, great off road, and experiences fewer mechanical issues than my full-sized one. For realism, it should come with a leaky gas tank and windshield wipers that come on when the spirit moves them.
