I read a post that the new V-cube 6 on amazon was different to previous versions, a v2 v-cube 6? I wanted a pillowed 6x6x6, a chill out cube, so I looked it up, it was less than 25 GBP and I got it.Its ok to good. Compared to my oldschool V-cube 5 it is very nice. The old V-cube 5 was graunchy, grindy and never turned well. It put me off big cubes for a long time. This V-cube 6 is far better than that old v-cube 5. The new V-cube 6 is about the same turn quality as my 7x7x7 shengshou. It feels slightly less smooth, 10 solves in and it has had a mini pop (edge) and a misaligned centre-cubie. But nothing bad, at least as far as big cubes go. I wasn’t speed solving.Just chilling with it – but all the same I feel I gave it work out and was firing off plenty of algorithms. So its on par with Chinese cubes from 2 years ago. Great. However I’m going to go out on a limb and say it actually feels really nice. Like my old IBM thinkpad or smooth running old car there is something about it that I really like. The plastic has a nice density to it and the puzzles size and heft are really pleasant. Its pillowed shape is good. And it turns alright - by that I mean nicely. As nice as my shengshou 7x7.People have issues with V-cubes on several levels. “Cubers” have long memories, puzzle things through for themselves and have a strongly collaborative idea sharing ethos. Rubiks and V-cubes have managed to fall out with the community; neither their products nor their corporate behaviour will ever fix this. The gap is too great, and as I said cubers have good memories. My son still doesn’t like the new V-cube – he’s still going to be commutating pixeled characters on his Shengshou. So when you read other reviews maybe take this kind of feeling into account. But I think he is being a little unfair. This cube is alright for the 25 GBP I paid (he is still too young to buy things like this himself). I’m not going on a v-cube ordering spree; its not that good and I don’t think I’m buying a V-cube 3x3 for speed solving. Don’t be silly. But I will be putting this v-cube 6 in my bag when I travel. It’s a nice puzzle I like it. I really like it. It really is quite nice.If after 100 solves it hasn't popped, and still turns well I will be changing the 4 to a 5.

The company i purchased this off was PUZL Uk, they were great, very quick and will definatly go to them first for my cubes, thank you PUZL!Firstly i would like to say that this product is great fun for any cubing enthusiast, you need to enjoy the 3,4 and 5 to consider this cube, but still great fun if you just wanna mess about.Sadly this product is very clicky, slow and does pop apart quite often if you do not take care of lining up the layers. This can take away a bit of the fun however there is a person on Youtube who has created a very effective modification with a great tutorial to help reduce popping and remove the click-ness .Back to the product, the product will loosen up slightly as you use it,after a few hours of use, and this does help remove any rough internal edges and improve the turning overall. To sum up:Pros; the cube is great fun, a cool challenge and will make a great addition to your collection.Sadly there any quite few cons; its clicky, pops apart, sometimes the internal mechanism come out of alignment so jams up. One other point is that this is the only 6x6 at this moment of time, excluding Asian fakes, so the prices are staying quite high. :(Overall this cube is good and I DO recommend purchasing it but do consider MeMyselfAndPi's Youtube modification.

After getting hooked on the smaller varieties it was inevitable that I would progress to the 6x6x6 cube, and V-cube haven't disappointed.Due to the inherent difficulties in the internal mechanisms for the 6 cube it is slightly different from smaller cubes in that it has a clicking mechanism to enable it to work. Initially this is quite stiff and noticeable but it quickly becomes smoother and movement is easier. Once properly broken in you can even move individual inside layers without the ones above/below, which does set it apart from smaller cubes. The potential for pop outs is far greater than on smaller cubes and speed cubing will be difficult because of this, I haven't had any happen yet but have come close. With care you should avoid almost all pop outs, given that it was long held to be practically impossible to create cubes larger than 5 I'd say this was still very impressive. It took a long time for anyone to create a cube with more than 5 layers, V-cube have created something fantastic here. Give it time to be broken in, take care not to force it and you will enjoy it immensely. Now for the 7.....

The V-Cube 7 being the current largest Rubik style puzzle cube is bound to have you thinking that it is very flimsy and easily broken.I have however found this to be on the contrary, I have had my V-Cube 7 just over a week now and the only major problem I have had is that lining up all the layers again for another rotation can take longer than on any other previous cube, and in all fairness that is bound to be the case with a cube so large and shows no indication of the quality of the product. It is of very good quality and is very durable as the V-Cube technology is thoroughly impressive and to the contrary of what you might be thinking, the V-Cube 7 is not that big as it has about another layer of width on it in all dimensions in comparison to the Rubik's 3x3x3.

Another V cube excellent cube when you have done the MODS on it, that are needed to smooth the ride. I mean seriously you should invest in some sand paper and an electric sander. Watch the 'memyselfandpi' you-tube vids for the necessary tutorials before attempting this delicate operation. Be advised it is easy to damage the cube when modding!!Once the mods are done you should have a smooth turning cube which is fun to play with. The next thing about V Cubes are they come with thin stickers and not tiles. They peel off very quickly, and so you might want to pre-order some 'Cube Smith' tiles from USA if you live in UK as I do, in advance. When you have the the tiles applied to the cube, and the mod done, the cube is a very good product, and worth playing with.

Love it, I'm no professional but i do like this one. Still takes me over an hour to do but thats probably to do with having children hanging off me majority of the time.It moves brilliantly much butter than the genuine rubiks revenge i have (so stiff). My hands to ache after playing with it but thats probably from completing it 5 times in one day. The stickers haven't come off like i have seen on reviews but that maybe to my slow solving, I'm so worried about breaking it that i turn it gently every time. I find the outer edges the hardest to turn. Great cube, spare stickers. Keeps my hands busy so i can watch films and not feel bored sat on the sofa. I really love it.Now if they could make a 10x10 with a reasonable price range I'd be over the moon!

I also purchased this from PUZL Uk, go to them first for all your cubes, often the best price and very quick delivery. This cube is very similar to the V Cube 6. So my review will be t=rather similar too. This puzzle is very challenging, especially the last 2 centers, so only cubing fans should really consider this really.Pros; extremely fun, very challenging and very well made.Cons; sadly this also pops apart and some could say that the difficulty may take the enjoyment away.Yet again, V Cube have patented this so they are in control of the market, so i doubt if the price will ever drop anytime soon.Great product, recommend it and go to PUZL as they are 20p cheaper! :)

This cube is excellent. The colours are bright and the mechanics spectacular. My cube hasn't fallen apart yet, so I'm pleased with it so far. While one yellow sticker is slightly askew, something I would normally take a star off for, however extra stickers for every colour were provided in case any sticks fell off so I don't mind. For a lot of people, their cubes broke because they tried to speed-solve with it. I'm not too interested in speed-solving, or even solving it at all - I just want it as a nice distraction for when I have time to kill. There's nothing that bad I can say about this. 5 stars from me!

The V-cube 6 made its debut in 2008 as the world's first six-layered puzzle cube. The infamous tale that no cube larger than five layers could be constructed has been busted, with the new state-of-the-art design allowing the possibility of up to eleven layers. The V-cube 6 is possibly the most notorious of the `big' cubes for its complex design and reliability issues, which has roused much criticism and divided opinions across the cubing community. The cube is constructed from 152 surface `cubies' with 218 moving parts in total. At first glance, the V-6 is about the same size as the

Really great Rubik's style puzzle. This 3x3 is great for intermediate speed cubers. I don't think it would work for pros as it seemed to lock up if I went too fast. However for my usual speed while solving it has been great. The only problem I found with this cube is that when I first inboxed it, two pieces where slightly glued together. A simple force was all that was required to separate them again. Works fine despite this initial problem. Would recommend to any cuber, even a pro, as a 3x3 just to have some fun with. Although I do not think this would work for a main speed cube.

I am writing this review since I have meticulously tested this product, I wanted to write this on the 26th of December but as any cuber knows, you cant rush these things. So I got this gift for Christmas. It came in pleasing packaging that snugly fit the cube, protecting the corners and sides from damage and from pesky siblings (thinking that because it was just a 2x2 that they could solve it!). I opened it after a delicious Christmas meal giving myself the evening to work it out and get a fair few solves under my belt. I am an avid fan of the 3x3 (

I bought this for my boyfriends birthday, he loves cubing but only owned the five and the three. I had read in other reviews that the rotation is better on these than the Rubiks brand, he confirmed this and says that it is surprisingly smooth for such a large cube. The only snag is that the center black cube that comes off to reveal the screw that takes it all apart, well it keeps popping off when he is using it. He says that it isn't enough to bother him but it would be nice if it didn't. Over all though he is really pleased with it.

A good cube. It's the only 7x7 I own, so can't compare it to anything else.It could probably do with tensioning and oiling, but even without it, it's ok. Not going to break a speedcubing record out of the box, but good for practice and learning.Nicely packaged in the v-cube standard packaging. It's heavy, but smaller than I expected. It was a bargain at just over £20, so definitely worth it for that price.

This the original pillowed (Pye) cube with the rounded corners. Its a bit tricky at first to handle but well worth the investment. The tiles may peel off in places, and might need ' Cube - smith tiles to replace at some point based in the USA. The cube is stiff and made need modifying if your a speed cuber. I enjoy this cube and I am pleased to have bought it.

The v-cube 7 is a good 7x7, with smooth turning and a solid feel. The outside layers move very well, with the inside layers having to be aligned pretty well to allow movement, so a fair bit of jiggling can be needed on occasions. I haven't got a Shengshou 7x7 to compare it with, but it's on my wishlist as many rate it higher than this.
