I’m a regular user of person WiFi hotspots having used a particular Huawei model for the last three or so years with an 3G data SIM. This TP-Link unit appealed to me from the get-go for a number of reasons:- It lasts a couple of hours longer (10 hours vs 8) when fully charged- Only the charging port is exposed, the SIM slot and what looks like a MicroSD card slot are both inside- The battery is removable and so you can, if need be, carry a spareThe hotspot comes with a charger and a USB cable (you can charge from any 5V source if it provides at least 1A).Getting started is simply a matter of charging and then inserting your data SIM. The hotspot comes with a quick start guide and two different SIM adapters in case you have a nano or micro SIM.I like this approach as it really doesn’t matter what size SIM you start with - it will fit and there is no need to cut down bigger SIMS to fit smaller form factors (yes I’ve done that before). You can get going immediately just by using the right network name and password (printed on the inside of the battery cover), or you can download a management application which gives you access to more features (such as media sharing) and helps you track data usage. The upper limit on the number devices you can connect is 11, I peaked at four connected without a problem, and also found that the range of the network was reasonable, possibly slightly better than my old unit. Data transfer speeds were also good.I was left slightly puzzled by what appears to be a MicroSd card slot next to the SIM slot and I’ve not really had the time or inclination to investigate, as this is a feature that I see on most of this kind of device and I never use it.Brilliant little gadget for travel even has its own app from the App Store I put a 3 data sim in mine and got everyone in the house to log in easy, changed the password and network name just make sure you turn on data roaming when you go abroad

It does what it says on the tin. Easy to setup after inserting the sim, and with the accompanying app to still be able to read any texts or anything you might receive on the device, as well as easily change the password, solid enough purchase. Also range of the Mifi compared to the range of using a mobile hotspot was also vastly superior. I could get probably 35ft away, with the device still being inside, and get a decently strong connection.Having said that I have a few complaints of the device not living up too its promises. The 8 hour battery life for starters. If you are using it on and off for just quick internet searches or watching a video here and there, perhaps its will last 8 hours. However if you are using it more heavily, it will last maybe 4 hours. It is also prone to getting quite hot, more so when plugged in and being used at the same time, which negatively affects is mifi performance for internet speeds (after several weeks of logging speed tests at start of use vs when you notice internet feeling sluggish, the device was always pretty hot when such drops would happen, and after allowing the device to rest and physically cool down, speeds would return to normal)Something else to consider if you are planning on using it for any kind of gaming, it also displays an error called double NAT, which if the mobile app was able to function more like a home router in terms of settings you could adjust, then it would be an easy fix, however, the app is lacking in functionality to fine tune your Mifi experience.Overall I am happy with the purchase vs the price, and the device is an improvement over using a hotspot if your device isnt the latest and greatest, or you just need to add a consistent mobile signal to an area where getting wifi isnt an option.

Fantastic little product! Very easy to use, it can be stored in your pocket, bag or be on display. You can connect it directly to your device using the cable supplied or via WiFi by entering the password found in device information. Upto ten devices can be connected at any one time. You can choose your network provider, use a shared sim with a different number and you can also insert both a uk sim and European sim at the same time so when your driving over the continent it will automatically select the appropriate network. Once switched on it takes about ten seconds to connect to the network and once connected to your device your good to go.By pressing the home button once allows you to view the available upload and download speeds. I use my device to send and receive e-mails, search engines, internet banking, online shopping and watching tv & videos via Amazon Fire stick whilst out and about all over the uk. Never suffered connection issues outside but sometimes it struggles to make a connection when inside a metal corrugated building/shop. All in all an excellent product and well worth having if you travel a lot.

I bought one of these for my parents last year, along with a data SIM as they have no land line. I got it on sale for half the price it is now, but was so impressed with it that I just bought one for myself and my daughter to use on our travels over the coming Summer holidays.Beautifully simple to use and set up, with both an app to adjust setup on your phone, or direct access via a browser. Obviously, performance in terms of network will depend on your provider, but I've had excellent results with both my O2 contract SIM and a BT data SIM I bought specifically for this.It has the added bonus of an SD card slot, so you can fill up 32GB worth of card with movies, music etc and it'll be accessible for anyone connecting to the device. Brilliant!Highly recommended and great service from Very as always.

Provides me with a reliable internet connection that is always on (although it does have default settings for powering down after 15 minutes), I leave mine left on all the time charging constantly on a logic 3 USB charger, windows automatically connects to it, after months of use it has never dropped a connection and the download speed is the best you will ever get for mobile WI-FI, I use it indoors so no 4G yet but the 3G comparable to BT speeds. The back case I found difficult to remove, had to prize it off with a screwdriver that left a mark, though after inserting the sim card everything worked without any further setup, the software supplied was not so good, although using Windows in built Wireless Network is much better, all in all, a great product for everyday internet use.

I bought this wifi hotspot device 6 weeks ago when my landline and broadband had a fault, I knew it would get a lot of use and come in handy while on a two week hospital stay or on holiday so I thought it would be a good purchase and it certainly is! My daughter carries in around in her handbag and plays pokemon go whilst connected constantly to the internet. we stuck an old T-Mobile chip in the device and pay a small amount for 30 days unlimited internet, what a bargain! On holiday 5 of us had internet access using this device with 8 devices connected at once in a caravan.happy buyer

it has come in very hand as I travel through work and have used it numeros time when I've lost connection to WIFI in the hotel to continue watching netflix or Amazon Prime, i'm using a Three unlimited data sim, as there is next to no signal for EE in my work area so this allows WIFI calling and also data for computer access to the internet at work when their system crashes (regular occurrence) so all in all great for general use, perfect for traveling, would recommend carrying several SIMs to ensure you get best coverage, so simple to swap SIMS

I initially could not get this to work with a Sky SIM. After some research i found a way to make it work which was not easy to initially resolve. I did the following:1. Open up the TP Mini app2. Select Tools - Internet settings - APN management3. Click + in the top right hand corner4. Enter the following:Profile name - skyAPN - mobile.skyleave everything else blank5. Press done6. Restart the midi box and it should work fineStill early days for me to have a detailed view on how it works

This piece of kit is brilliant, I'm mostly working from home and it saved me when my main internet connection was down. You have a micro/nano sim adapter in the box, so it will take any kind of sim you have. For me it worked straight out of the box, I just popped the sim in, got the wifi password by checking device info on the built-in screen, and bam, it worked.Battery life is great, the info on the screen super useful, wi-fi coverage great, I completely recommend this device.Thank you TPLink.

I'm very pleased with this little router which, even though it only gives 38mbps, is still much faster than my previous fixed broadband. And it doesn't have to stay at home, it can be taken out in the car or anywhere else you're visiting. If you're thinking of using this as a replacement for fixed broadband I'd first of all use an app to check the broadband speed, then check the speed given by a 4G SIM,and if you're happy that the 4G is better I'd definitely recommend buying this TP-Link router.

Excellent and had download speeds of upto 60mbps, upload speeds of around 40mbps in good 4g hotspots. Ideally this is good for 'on the move' business meetings where you can't guarantee the meeting venue or establishment had a decent internet connection. So i use this. But it's a very bad choice for home internet.Once you start buying Amazon echos and upgrading to a Ring alarm system that uses your wifi - the bandwidth has a much higher demand and this little 4g router cannot handle it.

This is a savior as I wait for my broadband to be delivered. I used my phone sim card as I have unlimited data and now I realize I no longer need anything else, I may cancel my broadband and just use this.Great signal, smooth and stylish, easy to use device. I have 2 computers and 2 mobile phones connected to it though the house and they all connect like normal WI-Fi and stream with no problems. I keep it plugged in most of the time, however it did once last the evening no problem unplugged

I was having issues with conference call quality mainly due to low 15mps Internet speeds which is expected for my locality. I was tethering from my work phone as a potential solution but also encountered issues with latency etc. This LTE device has solved those issues as it provides a modem based solution which is better than tethering. I have run speed tests before, after and during over a few days with this device comes out on top each time. Simple to use and was online within 3 minutes.

I got this as a Christmas present for my parents to replace their 4 year old 3G device. The device itself is a breeze to set up - I installed the app and also connected to it via my desktop browser with no issues. My folks aren't very tech savvy, so they won't be needing access to this , but it is easy to change things like the device name, password, data limit etc. More importantly, the actual device itself is easy is easy to use and performs excellently with a decent network signal.

I love this. Went on a holiday on a narrow boat with the kids so bought this to give them WiFi. Worked like a dream. Put a sim card with Unlimited data in it and the kids enjoyed WiFi throughout the trip. The battery lasts about 8 hours before recharging from USB which matched the boats charging cycle and the WiFi signal mostly covered the boat which was 55ft. I would also suggest an unlimited data sim. The Three PAYG All in one 35+ worked perfectly for us. We used over 50Gb in a week!
