Neversoft are back with another explosive outing in now the 6th Hawk game of the series, and yet somehow this one feels just as fresh as the ones that came before it.I know, I know, it's not out yet I hear you cry, but I do actually own the game, lucky for me I was passing a well known UK game retailer just as they broke the release date.First impressions I must be honest were not great, the intro really does nothing for the game, but the moment you jump onto that already familar deck, you feel right at home.Unlike THUG1, you are already a reasonably well known skater who has been hand picked by Tony Hawk and Bam Margera to join them on the "World Destruction Tour",a balls out road trip round the world to cause as much havok and mayham as possible, and squeeze in some skating as well! Tony and Bam are taking their teams head to head and it's your job to make sure Tony's team comes out on top and this is done with the introduction of many new playable characters, ranging from a hoard of Pro skaters to a Spanish bull fighter! The game has achieved a great difficulty balance for both experienced players of the series and players that have yet to grace the skating world of Mr Hawk. One of the biggest changes is the reintroduction of the Clasic Hawk mode that pits you against 10 goals accross 16 levels with the familiar 2 minute time limit, however I must admit I prefer the new format. For those that are familar to THUG there are a few new moves that can used, including Sticker slaps, spray painting your own custom "tag" around the game world and the new "Freak Out" that allows you to go crazy and smash your board to pieces after a fall. However the best feature is the new trick modifer, that allows you to add front flips, back flips, and barrel rolls to any grab trick with a quick double tap on the control pad.On a graphical side the game looks on the surface just like THUG however the motion capture of the skaters has improved, further adding realism to the experience. Sound as always is an eclectic mix of R'n'B, Rap, Punk Rock and Metal with a few golden oldies such as Johnny Cash's Ring of Fire chucked in for good measure.Gameplay as per usual with this series is fantastic and it is great to see that it hasn't been ruined somewhere along the line, not many games that have had 6 successful outings. Finally the answer to the question in the title, it doesn't beat THUG1 it just gives gamers a continuation to the series, there are features that are better and there are equally ones that aren't as good. I miss the uphill struggle to try and go from local bum to a pro that THUG1 offered, but THUG2 to provides a much more Jackass comedy style that is equally enjoyable. If you enjoyed THUG1 and Jackass then you will love this!Well done Neversoft, roll on THUG3!

Tony Hawks Underground threw away the rule book on skateboarding games and returned with a fresh aspect. Getting off your board. But, has T.H.U.G 2 done enough to do itself justice? In a sense, no: The graphics are hazy and slightly worse than it's predessesor; There's little change to the aspects of the game other than graffiti-tag and sticker-slap.This game feels like a comfortable pair of old trainers, with a fresh new look.I say this in a good way, as although it has it's downfalls, it's a totally revamped and addictive game.I already mentioned the new in-game features of the sticker-slap and graffiti-tag but there's more.Oh yes.As well as the usual 'create-a...' modes (such as creat-a-skater,create-a-trick, create-a-park, create-a-deck etc.) there's the addition of the 'create-a-tag' mode. You can now personalise your graffiti tag!Unfortunately, there's no way of personalising your stickers and so you simply have to choose one which best-fits.There's the whole shebbang of fresh, cripsy, new levels complete with a way to destroy them and totally alter the landscape.Did I mention projectile throwing? There's new stars - Steve-o, Phil Margera, wee-man - as well as the usual suspects. And the destruction aspect is by far its' biggest selling point (you can set your board on fire and de-capitate statues!!), what with it being the only major new thing..Ok, so a few new characters, new levels and a whizzed up 'create-a...' mode, but yet, even with little difference to the previous game, it still manages to reach addictive levels so you'll play 'til your head burns.Verdict?Buy it, play it, play it again, but don't expect the 'Hawk' series to venture further than what they already have.I reckon its' the last, or at least the last good game in the series.Hezza

This game may be called Tony Hawks Underground but the influence from Bam and the rest of the Jackass team is extreme and makes for the best Tony Hawks game yet. Forget the minor mistakes of the first Underground because they have been improved in this game. And nothing will prepare you for the ultimate coolness of the "New Orleans" level..play to find out what i mean.So are there any shoddy car or car related vehicles that are playable? The awnser is no because this time the other drivable things are actually just as good if not better then skate boarding! For instance, dream of going around causing ultimate mayhem and tearing up the city in a wheelchair! Play this game and your dream will become a hilarious reality.I love the originality of this game but what precisely makes it "Underground?" It seems you cant get a game these days without some sort of Urban feel to it or word "Underground" in its title. I dont think anything makes this anymore underground than levels in previous T.H's games. But still...if roaming around causing ultimate destruction, whilst laughing away at all the brilliant gags, is not your thing (which i doubt it isnt) then there is the option of playing the classic mode, so basically we get THUG 2 and Tony Hawks 5 all in one game! Brilliant! There is lots to do and lots to laugh at, a short game perhaps but a very replayable one at that, completed it? why not do it all over again with another character? Can you resist going to the top of The Church in Berlin again? Fancy raising the dead and throwing the town into a "Dawn Of The Dead" style frenzy? of course you do! Yes...this is truly how good this game is! Buy Now!

If you thought THUG1 was brilliant, then you nedd to play this. Even though it has a similar story mode like the last game, but it also has a very nice classic mode, which has about 15 levels in it. It also has create a park, goal, skater, graffiti tag and trick. The 2 player game has improved with quite a few more fun games to play. The story mode features Bam, Tony, all the pros, new faces and you. First you can go to create a skater and graffiti tag so you can create yourself and also make a graffiti picture to spray on walls and leave your mark. The story mode is called the World Destruction Tour, where Bam and Tony split up into 2 teams and try and create as much damage around the world as they can. There are about 6 or 7 packed levels with about 4 sets of goals to do on each and 4 skaters. You can still get off your board and climb buildings and stuff like that and it is really fun.The classic mode is very good. It features some story mode levels and some levels from the past, like the airport THPS3, and is exactly the same as the THPS games with a set of goals to do and a time limit of 2 minutes. It is very addictive with loads to unlock and loads of suprises. New-comers will have a taste of the new and old style of games and returners will find it very good all the same too!!Hope this helps! BUY IT!!c ya!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THUG 2 is one of the best continuation of the series yet, and for fans of the good ole' 2 minute time limit can be found in classic mode. The graphics dont seem to have improved much since THUG 1 and only 1 new move which is the natas spin (hundreds of new moves if you count over the top special moves). The only bad point about this game is that it is too easy, any experienced player can complete the game on hard in a few hours on story mode (all goals completed). The create a skater mode has improved, but some of the default items from the previous games have been dumped so you cant create a carbon copy of your old skater from THUG or before.Create a deck mode has dissapeard completely and was one of the best features in THUG 1.Very dissapointing to anyone wanting this feature (the create a tag is placed on your board in a small square if you choose custom board). The levels havent upgraded in size which can easily be seen when comparing to the levels you can unlock on classic mode (THPS3's Airport is one of the biggest levels).Playbility is the same as THUG1 and will last you while, but still cant live up to THPS 3 in the fun factor.THUG 2 is one of the best games you can buy for the ever ageing PS2. Buy it!

I've owned THUG2 since the day it came out and I have to say that it's by far my favorite of the Tony Hawk pro skater titles so far.The replayability is excellent. Having completed all of the goals in story and classic mode on all difficulty settings, I can still sit and play through the entire game and thoroughly enjoy the experience. One of the shortfalls of Underground was the clunky story mode which (whilst great at the time) got really tired, really quickly. The story mode on THUG2 is entertaining in its own right, for anyone who's ever like Jackass, Viva La Bam or CKY, there are enough pratfalls, pranks and cameos to keep you entertained for hours. For anyone who just likes the gameplay, this game is massive enough to keep you interested for hour upon hour, classic mode has some vists to classic levels from the game's past which are worth the price by themselves, trying out the newer moves in LA and Philly will bring a smile to your face if you've ever played the earlier games. And you can finally put your own face on your custom skater without online capability! All you need is an eyetoy! Bliss. This is a must buy for anyone who loves the Tony Hawk franchise. Looking foward to American Wasteland!

This game has been by far the best game Tony Hawks has ever agreed to make. The graphics are excellent. They're practically Playstation 3 graphics if you ask me, i mean if you run into a wall his body doesn't just travel half way through it, he stops (you can also wall jump).Secondly, the levels. They vary and are quite interesting. There are also random people there which you can swap transport with! It's great fun!Thirdly, out of story mode. Out of story mode there is ALOT of good activities to get up to. For egxample you can go on create-a-modes. This is where you can create parks, your own player, graffiti tags etc. Creating a player is fun and very easy. It's personally my favourite activity on this game! Finally.THe last thing i'd like to talk about is the classic mode. IT'S THE ULTIMATE EXPERIENCE AND PUTS YOU ON REAL TENSE PRESSURE! This is where you take part in classic events which occured in the older versions of Tony Hawks games. It's very entertaining.Thank-you for reading this review and i hope it was helpful to you. All in all i give this game the following:Graphics 8/10Gameplay 10/10!Other 9/10

Tony Hawks Underground 2 is a direct continuation of the story from the first THUG game, although strangely you can't carry over your character from the first game. Playing as a part of Team Hawk, you and your team-mates must go on a world tour of destruction in an effort to beat Team Bam. New to this installment is the ability to throw projectiles, spray graffiti and (strangely) be able to smash your board if you get in a bad mood. Also included in THUG 2 is a classic mode set in new and old levels with the old two-minute time limits, where you must complete over a hundred brand new goals. There is a certain krazyness about THUG 2 which hasn't been evident in the previous Tony Hawk titles with the ability to drive wheelchairs for example, although whether it will be side-splitting sillyness or just annoying old nonsense remains to be seen.

Its a great game but sometimes you have to wonder if they rushed it to quickly because when the first one came out it was mind blowing the graphics were amazing and the storyline is ecxellent. this however never just made it to the big time.
