I am a late bloomer in the Thief market having only seen a demo earlier in the year. I finally got myself a copy and life as I knew it was a distant memory. Hours and hours down the road I cannot get enough. The game throws conventional gaming on its head and asks you to use your head. An extremely pleasant change from the normal first person violence you normally have to put up with. The storyline has you involved from the start with a very engaging plot. You are a expert thief in a tough, uncomprimising environment which requires all your skills to conquer. You need a good sound environment as sound is your food and drink.Every noise is important and I sometimes get so involved in plot with the surreal music that I am on the edge of my seat in the midnight hours. Midnight hours...yes and get used to it as this is like a bestseller....you cannot put it down. The movement and graphics are great especially if you have a P3 or better with 128mb ram plus a good 3D card (required) and sound card. Levels are well planned and allow you to improve as you go along. Tip : if you have not played Thief 1 :The Dark Project then I would start with that as it teaches you well and makes your transition to Thief 2 pretty seamless. All in all a superb piece of software and will leave nobody disappointed. I have no real qualms with the game except loading times which are quite long but in no way detract from the game. Thief 3 is apparently on the way.....I dont know how they will better it but I cannot wait. Buy it now ... you will get hours and hours of top flight gaming.

Every aspect of Thief 2 is excellent. From its thrilling, heart racing sneakaround adventures, its excellent comedy in the form of its guards, graphics, gameplay, originality, and plot. The original Thief game was also that good on every way, yet Thief 2 expands somewhat in its scope, with bigger and more complex missions and the furthering of certain aspects of plot and technicalities in gameplay.The only criticism I have of Thief 2 as compared to Thief is that it loses much of the gothic, medieval tone which for me was a big booster in the atmosphere of the original. Though the vanishing of the `Olde Worlde' in favour of The Metal Age, is covered in the story of Thief 2,for me this does detract from the enjoyment a little. That said it is still a stunning experience and an absolute joy to play.

I recommened Theif 2 without a shadow of a doubt, the graphics are excellent, the gameplay even better. The game creates this amazing world around you brimming with a deep atmosphere. Unlike FPS, Theif 2 makes you think about everything and anything, and keeps you playing "just a little bit more". Your'll definately be back for more for a long time with this game. Excellent. Buy it now..
