Don't buy this game, because if you get the add-on Age of Mythology 'The Titans' instead [that costs a few quid more] it includes this complete 'Age of Mythology' game as well. The Titans game+expansion pack triple CD set is also by Xplosiv and looks pretty identical to this game pack. The Titans add-on is pretty good and better than the original game (you get Atlantians, more maps, more god powers and naturally the Titan creatures) and it is worth the extra outlay. Plus you get all the tribal war sims house/temple/boat building activities of the original, with free roam and campaign modes, and lots of interesting mythological creatures.PC requirements for these games are a minimal 450MHz PC,16Mb graphics card and 128Mb system RAM (probably for Win98) - but I expect it needs a better spec to run smoothly. On my sons (age 12) fast AMD2 5000 + NVidia 7950 gaming PC, the game is very fluid and the slightly boxy graphics do look pretty good considering the games age. The game [and Titans add-on] also runs very well on our Dell Inspiron 6000 laptop with its limited 64Mb integrated Intel GMA 910 graphics [2.26 MHz Pentium M CPU, 2Gb RAM]. My son really likes Age of Mythology & the Titans - as much as Age of Empires III, and more even than his Rome Total War and Settlers: Rise of an Empire (though the latter looks gorgeous in comparison to Age of Mythology). So this old game with The Titans expansion pack is a hit in his book, plus you get change from a tenner. The games run on anything from Windows 98/ME to 2000/XP [but not Vista] and even auto-update themselves over the internet. Probably because it's a Microsoft game we don't get any glitches either.Update 2015: This game is now also available to buy updated to HiDef graphics direct from STEAM, and this new game runs fine under Windows 7 (unlike this older version on CD).

This is an empire building computer game. If you want you do get to kill lots of things but in a tactical rather than a gory way, you can concentrate more on creating things if you'd rather. I bought this for my son's birthday for. He, his brother (13) and sister (11) have spent hours playing it over the last 4 months and they've by no means finished it. They often play it together, discussing tactics sharing information and NOT arguing - they've never got on so well. They've learnt a lot of mythology along the way and quite a lot of other incidental information, some of which may come in useful in life, and some of which is about llamas. In short it's a computer game with some educational benefit but one that promotes collaboration and family harmony so I get to do the crossword in peace.Son who was given this was 14 today, his siblings are now 17 and 15. They spent several hours this morning playing this collaboratively on their various laptops. Buying it was possibly the best fiver I've ever spent.
