I was really drawn to this brand because I've not seen anything quite like this style of construction toy.You get a large box stuffed full of tiny proper bricks, a bag of cement mix, a little dish for mixing the cement in and a little trowel, as well as directions for building two designs (shown on box cover), but of course you could design your own building. It is really fun, mixing the cement and using the little trowel to put the cement on and lay the bricks. It is very fiddly though to get them straight and I don't feel I could leave my six-year-old to get on with it on his own, so it's definitely an activity to do together at his age. I don't mind that because it is really fun.You need to use quite a lot of cement to get the bricks to set properly, and once they do set they are really well stuck. They don't come apart at all. (The instructions say you just pop the bricks into water to wash the cement off and you can start afresh with clean bricks. We haven't got to that point yet - we are still in process of first build.)The cement takes a few hours to dry and until it does it is easy to accidentally knock the bricks out of position, so we tend to do a small section, or one level, and then leave it overnight to set before starting the next layer. It does feel nice to come back to the set bricks the next day and continue though, and we're taking great care over it.Really fun, if you want a gradually evolving activity with your child.

I purchased this a while back for my friend's 9 year old son and he really enjoyed it so I decided to get it for my son for his 6th birthday. The bricks, trowel and different pieces are tiny, they are very cute and the little one instantly loved it (as did the adults). The instructions are pretty straightforward. I found the ratio given for the cement mix made it difficult as it was too runny so added some extra powder which helped. It's really sticky and when it dries its solid. My 6 yo enjoyed mixing the cement and putting it onto the bricks, he had a go at building but found it was a bit hard for him. It's great that the cement dissolves in water so any extra on the bricks can be polished off easily.I bought an extra pack in case we wanted to build something different at a later date. After all the hard work the finished house looks amazing, we filled the little garden with sand and a few nice stones from the garden. One very happy boy. I would recommend this for children or adults, younger children will need some help but it's good fun. I will be ordering more sets but might wait a few years.

I bought the most basic Teifoc kit I could find and as a starter kit this is great, we have all had a go at building some of the walls. My son who is 6 has really enjoyed doing this with my husband and has got better with each line of bricks. We set it up on a tea tray so it can be bought out and a bit completed whenever we felt like it rather than giving up an area of the playroom as a constant building site! Would have benefitted from a pre-measured footing template to start us off but patience and a ruler did the job. Don't know how good it will be second time around but as of yet it is still on display as 'The Little Pig's House'. If your child likes to learn and take time with a project this is great. The sales company were excellent with very speedy delivery. We are already thinking of getting a castle next time as a more exciting project.

My son had this as a christmas present about 3 years ago (he is now 11yrs old)and still playing with it. All his life he has been into building, so when we saw this it seemed an ideal toy. It is fantastic. There is a tiny trowel to mix your cement and build with (like a proper builder!!) There are plans for you to follow and at first he did need some help following these, but soon got the hang of it and is now inventing his own models. Once you have finished your model and want to dismantle it, you soak the bricks in cold water and this removes the cement. He has probably now gone through about 3 extra packs of cement and I am now about to order another for christmas. This set has definately tried the test of time and still going strongly. I would definately recommend this product, but I think it is more designed for 8yrs and above.

Amazing product, I brought this for my 4 year old daughter who loves to help daddy building. As soon as she opened this christmas morning she wanted to work on it straight away so lo and behold on christmas day I had both daddy and daughter at the kitchen table building the cottage. It is a lovely way to spend time together as well as being super educational and after they built it, it was so strong!! I dubiously soaked in water for 30 minutes thinking it would not work, but I was again amazed at how easily the bricks came apart and how clean they were, now they are all ready for another weekend building. Daddy who is a builder was really impressed and can't wait to build again.Overall I would definitely recommend this to any building-loving child, German engineering at its best :)

Brought this for two boys aged 9 and 8 and they love it. So much so that they want extra cement and bricks this year so they can design and make their own buildings. Not your run of the mill toy as it is very different from making a lego toy or similar and I am sure lots of builders out there would love to spend time doing this with their sons and could really use their imagination in creating really attractive buildings. Good as it can be done over and over again by just soaking the cement. Also you can buy extra bricks and so on so the possibilities are endless, really good value and well worth every penny.

My daughter loved the Teifoc building set and got plenty of use out of it. It has now been handed on to the out of school that I work for, where the children have enjoyed using the building bricks. It definitely requires patience, so would recommend for slightly older children, but the joy is that, if you make a mistake, you just soak the parts that you can't use in water to let the mortar dissolve and then start again. A real change to other construction type sets.

Bought this for my Nan as she is stuck at home during this time on her own and missed out on her holiday to a beach this year. So I got this as a fun and keep busy gift that wouldn't be too complicated but she would have a sense of achievement from it. She LOVED IT and has started building - i will come back and share pics once shes completed :)Delivery was fast and well packaged, my Nan said the quality of the contents looks good.Extremely happy with this buy.

An excellent product. Not cheap as I had seen it for half the price I paid but it was unavailable at the time. However, it has been used a great deal by me and my daughter and we have spent many hours building. The bricks and mortar work well. It is quite slow and one needs to take care and be a little meticulous but the end result is great. Building is great fun and time seems to go so fast when building.

My son had one of the building sets which he proudly displayed for a year - when I explained how you can disssolve the mortar and restart building he couldn't wait.Dissolving was so easy - drops the house in a basin of water and the mortar dissolves ever so quickly. So buying more mortar means he can now rebuild a different style of house. fantastic toy - its get my son away from computer games!!!

The whole idea is great! You can build using 'real' bricks and it is real fun! We tried to swap cement for anything else (flour with water), but nothing works as well as this. My son goes back to the original set (bricks) from time to time and we then remove cement from the old project (by soaking it in water) and build new one. It takes few hours to dry, but the final effect is amazing. Always!

Firstly this is great value for money! Our son loved it, he is 6 years old so did need some help from dad. Which was nice watching them work together. I have posted pictures on Facebook as we thought it was brilliant. Many friends want one so hopefully more orders coming your way from the UK. Highly recommend. Nothing like this in the UK shops, again good value for money.

Recommended by a friend. I like the idea of building in miniature, bricks are of good quality and are realistic looking, just trying out the tiny trowel which I think is practical to the scale and easyishh! to handle!Looking forward to experimenting and good to see there are plenty of options and accessories to chose from, delivered by prime so service as expected.

If you looking for a hobby, this is a good one. You create small buildings/houses with real tiny bricks and a makeshift cement. There are examples to follow (not easy to follow) or you can have fun and create your own, but be careful as you will probably run out of specific types of bricks when making your own. A lot of hours can be spent doing this but it is fun.

I brought this product for my son after seeing that they were using it in his school. Its fab the miniature bricks in all sizes spur the imagination on we built a great shed on our first attempt and it was especially good as enertainment after a trip to the dentist as it suceeded in taking his mind off things.would recommend it for kids of all ages 6 - 66
