I got these as a recommendation from some glass-wearing friends. My head is small (I'm petite and a female, I have the whole combo) and on top of that I'm prone to having headaches and I wear glasses. This means that I've never managed to wear a headset for over an hour without having a massive headache that usually lasts 2-3 hours.Ever since the lockdown started (I'm in UK) I've had to attend meetings and lectures online which meant I would be using a headset for over 4-5 hours a day, so it was URGENT to get a proper headset and this does it.I have been wearing it and the ski-type headband is the best idea I've ever seen. I can feel how the weight is nicely distributed and the padding on the cups is the perfect amount for me.It doesn't press too much against my glasses and even though I need to do some tiny adjustment from time to time, I am overall happy and have not suffered from a single headache since I started using them (amazing).Sound-wise, I am a bass-head and I normally would listen to music through my SkullCandy Crushers with bass enhancement, so this ones being more real, pure sound, do sound weird to me, not in a bad way but simply different. However, the sound is quite involving thanks to the virtual 7.1 sound system so if you're not a sound purist (or if you just wanna hear the music / sound of your game sharply, these will do nicely.I do like the pick-up range of the mic, because it will pick up my voice even if I decide to mutter, but it won't pick up other loud noises occurring nearby such as strikes of my mechanic keyboard (which is quite loud) nor my dog barking next to me (as long as it is not a very loud bark). My classmates have reported to hear me sharply and comfortably. The Game-Chat system seems a bit pointless to me but just because I don't give it much use (I prefer single-player games where chatting ain't that important and I usually don't speak while playing), so I cannot say much about it.I would like it to have a longer Jack 3.5 cable extension as it is surprisingly shorter than the USB one, and I dislike having such a short cable wondering around. Losing this bit will probably be unavoidable long term if you're slightly messy as am I.The external design of the headset has me mesmerized. The feeling is sturdy even though it's plastic, but also smooth and the matte finish makes it look elegant while still having a nice gaming touch with those RGB circles. There are buttons on the left ear cup, but as I have disappointingly realised, the mute unmute button does not sync with Zoom (it doesn't even recognize it as a key if you try and modify it from settings). I haven't tried it with discord yet though. The other thing that could be nice is an option to turn the RGB off if you feel like it, but this is not vital and I don't even have a huge preference for it, but it would be nice to have the option anyways. The little wheel below the mute button on the left ear cup is smooth, but doesn't run on her own. It regulates the volume as well as the Game-Chat wheel that comes attached to the USB connection cable. The wheel itself feels a bit more plasticky than the rest of the set, but it runs smooth, although a tad too smoothly imo, I've accidentally lowered the voice because the cable moved and I touched it with my arm.Last comment: the retractable mic is comfortable, but I am sceptical and I feel it a tad soft, making me think that maybe I would not fiddle too much with it if I want it to last long. I hope that time proves me wrong!Overall, I recommend this, particularly, if you have issues with headsets due to glasses or due to pressure feeling on the top of your head because of the weight of it. I also recommend it if you look for a nice involving sound that it is not too bass deep.

These SteelSeries headphones are of brilliant quality. I originally had a really cheap unbranded pair I'd wear when watching my boyfriend play games a few years ago, and ever since I got into gaming myself, I never upgraded. The audio of that pair now cuts out whenever the wire moved, so I was in need of a proper gaming headset! Off the bat, you can definitely tell the difference, which I did have to get used to because it was new and strange to me.I did have them plugged into the headphone jack to start with (with an extention I used for my old pair as the cable is quite short), but I noticed this didn't allow the LED lights around each headphone to light up.I plugged them into the USB connector in the back of my computer and downloaded the SteelSeries Engine and the audio, again, improved immensely! You get a sense of surround sound, which is great when playing games where you need to be aware of your surroundings (my go-to games being Dead by Daylight and Apex Legends, so this is perfect). Using the USB connection, means you also have to have the ChatMix dial connected. I haven't used this feature, but basically you can change the chat/game audio ratio mid game without having to minimise, so it is handy. The real test was if they would be comfortable because I wear glasses - they certainly are! There's no pushing or clamping on my ears or glasses frames, which I got from my last pair. There's a head strap that can be adjusted which is also comfortable on the top of the head. If you were to start headbanging or something, these will fall off because they just sit nicely on the head with no tightness really. The mic can be pulled out and pushed back in when not in use. I'm not sure how this wire will hold up because it seems quite flimsy. It's a little annoying (you'll want to pull it out before you're connected to Discord etc or while you're on mute) as I'm used to just lifting the mic up and down from the left side of the headset, although, I understand the design so it's out the way. It has a red LED when it's on mute which again is a little annoying because when it's not in use I like to always have it on mute, but I can obviously see why that is a feature. I've been told compared to my old pair, my mic is so much clearer and crisp, so that's a plus!On the back left headphone, you have the mute button for the mic, as well as a wheel for the volume. When I first started using these, I would always wonder why the audio got so quiet. It was because when I picked them up from my desk, my thumb would knock the wheel! Since I realised, I try to avoid putting my thumb near the settings when putting them on, but I'll also push up on the wheel when they're on just to make sure it's on max. The headphones twist, so if you take of them off and put them round your neck, they can sit comfortably. I don't ever do this, so when I pick one side of the headphones up, it always rotates.Overall, if you're looking for a comfortable headset for glasses, these are definitely an option and the sound quality is amazing. I recommend downloading SteelSeries Engine for customisation such as the LED colour and all things sound related.

My first gaming headset, I replaced normal headphones after doing a lot of research. I want to note that my main use for it is call conferences and gaming. I have it over 2 months now, so I hope it lasts!Set up/Sound: Really easy to set up, recommended to search for equalizer setting in the internet, or even play with those yourself to find what suits you most. Can produce really good quality sound.Microphone: Didn't had any issue with it, had good feedback from others on how it sounds. Also the red light when you disable the mic is very helpful at not forgetting yourself muted. In general the 2 buttons behind(sound, mic) are really helping to a quick mute/deafen need. Also I am very fond of the microphone being able to be pushed in when you are not using it. Plus it's super flexible to move it around. Very happy with the mic design overall.RGB: It's really fun to look at, I had it on for a bit, but I have disabled it for now since there is no real use of it. Many color options if you are a fan.Ear cups: They feel really good soft and comfortable. A tiny bit pressure when I wear my glasses (I wear contacts too) but not too noticeable to care.Size: The size was really good from the start, I didn't had to arrange the headband, and even my 11 year old daughter who uses them sometimes doesn't have an issue with the size, it fits fairly well. I like the headband cause it feels good wearing it and not feeling the plastic over your head.Storing them: I would recommend to have a headset stand or something that can work as a stand to hang it (I use a furniture part), it feels better than throwing them around. Since I have read some people having issues with broken plastic, I try to take good care of them to avoid this happening. One last note : The main reason I didn't bought Arctis 3 which is similar is because I wanted a usb one and I didn't regret it, plus I found it in a good price with amazon discount at around £84. Nevertheless I still think it's a bit expensive.Tip for a small sound issue: I had a weird issue that happened a couple of times, the sound and/or the microphone was just disappearing out of nowhere. The solution was weirdly super simple, from the windows button on the bottom right, I just disabled and enabled again the sound, and it worked. I found this solution to the internet the first time it happened, so it might help someone.

Having used Kraken chroma 7.1 headsets for a few years the earshells fell apart so I thought I would buy a headset with material shells. Having owned a Steelseries Apex motherboard which had caused me no end of trouble I was hesitant in buying another Steelseries product. When the package arrived today I unboxed it but didn't post a video. I downloaded the Steelseries Engine and pre-installed it. Connected the in-chat volume mixed and headset. The cable is longer than most, which I find really useful.Anyway Windows 10 automatically set up the headset, then I opened Steelseries engine and connected the headset usb into the motherboard usb. A warning message appeared telling me I had to download an app to get the headset working correctly, went to the page in the message link, closed steelseries engine and then restarted the app. Message gone and all options available.Yes the setup is a little fiddly so take your time.Putting on the headset the ear shells are over ear and fit great and are comfy, the left ear shell has the volume control and mute mic button which is handy. To set up the headset I put on a couple of mp3's so I could adjust the volume and presets, enabled DTS 7.1 surround and wow what an amazing sound, it doesn't mess with music as the software has a setting for 7.1 gaming and stereo music / audio. Put the sound compression to medium and pure quality sound. Stopped music, started Battlefield 5, 7.1 surround sound is very good, excellent in Division 2 as well. Mic quality is great and the mixer does work well especially when using discord voice in noisy battles.. Yes I do recommend these Steelseries Arctis 5 Headsets and I think the price is worth paying.

I've struggled with headsets for years as most of them fall off my head as they don't adjust down to my size. My husband bought the pro version and I tried them and was shocked to find they fit so I bought the arctis 5s immediately as they all seem to have the same size adjustments.I was really impressed to find that even though I'd bought a lower end model, most of the compromise seemed to be in the cost of the materials rather than any real loss in functionality. His headset has metal parts whereas mine is all plastic, he can change the style of the cups whereas mine don't pop out. I don't feel like there's any compromise in the mic or sound quality. His noise cancelling is better than mine I think but that's not something that really bothers me and I might be wrong as I've just used it ootb but he's played with all his settings. The only difference in what arrived in the box was that the arctis 5 doesn't come with the pop filter for the mic so I may need to buy one separately if I find I need it (haven't so far)On the whole we are both really happy, the products look good and they really feel like the manufacturer listened to users and thought of the little things that we actually want - unisex to mean unisex, comfort for long sessions, a retractable mic for when you're still playing but want to quickly mute yourself and munch on a pizza without hitting it. For the wireless version the batteries are removed and swapped to recharge so the biggest drawback of wireless has gone, you can still play while you charge!

I have used this headset for about 3 months and love them.I currently use them for both my pc and my Xbox. The sound quality is a about the same on both platforms but I have noticed on the pc when listening to other people they are quieter compared to when listening to others on Xbox one. Other than that no problems.Listening to music is great too and the little chatmix dial is great when you want to listen to music only or the game/people only.I do wish the head strap could be tighten just a little more but it is no issue. It fits comfortably on my head and the ear cushions are great especially if you wear glasses and after long hours of use.The cushions leaves enough room my ears to be free and not squashed into my head and getting too strained. The on ear mute button is also nice and easy to find and knowing if the mic is muted or not is indicated by the red Light on the microphone is a nice touch. The microphone also retracts into the headset which is an awesome little feature.Overall these are great, a bit pricey but I got them on a deal which is fabulous. After using them I can confirm they were definitely worth it. Fab quality and sleek design 5 out of 5.

I read all the reviews and looked around online for some reviews and YouTube and what have you. I was a bit wary as I had come from the Razer Kraken originals, got quite attached to them but they were falling apart after six years of use - anyway, these seemed like a good choice overall and these were the 2019 edition, meaning most of the problems that the legacy pair had, have been addressed, which bought a lot of comfort. So I took the plunge and made the purchase.I wasn't disappointed; they are extremely comfortable for long periods of time, for that special WoW or LoL sesh, the sound quality is fantastic straight out of the box, however, it does improve if you install the software for them.**POINT OF NOTICE** - when I bought these, the microphone was muffled and made me sound like Sean Connery, this is normal behaviour for these headphones straight out of the box. Simply go the sound setting, recording devices and set the quality to 48000HZ (studion quality), clear the quality up to perfection. Hope this helps someone.Buy the headphones!

Great headphones, solid sound quality, good price. Software is easy to use and has a lot of things you can tamper with to perfect the sound for your liking. You can also set different presets to different apps/games/etc. so I can have a preset that loads when I play some games, and different when I’m watching videos which is helpful.Loses a star because they can be a bit uncomfortable after wearing for long periods of time (not much padding between the plastic of the speakers and your ear), and the 7.1 surround doesn’t sound as good as others I’ve tried (still good, don’t get me wrong, but I’ve heard better for a similar price). Mic is also not good at all.Tried it in Discord and it sounds like a 2008 Turtle Beach mic that you’d use on xBox. This is common within headset mics though so can’t fault it too much. All in all a good product, certainly good value for money if you want it as a nice pair of headphones that’ll sound good whilst gaming, as well as watching videos and listening to music.

I bought this as an upgrade from an entry level headset as I really enjoy stereo headphone gaming. This was a huge upgrade in quality! It's a nice length cable and easily fits together, the head strap being hugely adjustable is a welcome feature for myself (I have quite a large head!). The ear cups are huge and fit comfortably over my ears (also large!). The ear cup material is super comfortable and really great for long gaming sessions which I've done recently. The controls are easy to use with an accessible wheel for volume control and a button for muting yourself easily. Plugging the headphones into your laptop or PC via USB opens up a lot of options too for adjusting some settings using the SteelSeries software.I haven't really dipped into this but did have a look and there are a lot of settings you can change. If you're using a cheaper headset at the moment and are looking for a decent mid level upgrade then I would HIGHLY recommend these.

Bought for PS4 and eventually PS5. I moved from Xbox using a high end turtle beach to this headset on PS4. The headset is clearly built for PC, the dial used to balance Game/Chat audio only works on PC, so is fairly useless on console, which is something I miss about my turtle beach, and the lights can only be configured on pc, however that is to be expected. Another thing that you don’t find here is mix monitoring that allows you to hear yourself as you talk, which is a shame, as when loud noises are playing it can be quite confusing to also hold a conversation when you can’t hear your own voice. However, the headset is extremely comfy, looks the part, and has a great sound and microphone quality.I don’t feel disadvantaged moving from a far more expensive headset to this one. Very good quality for money.

Pros:- Very comfortable- Sound quality is decent (not amazing)- looks very good- customisable using steelseries softwareCons:- Audio sounds a bit tinny or muffled when gaming- The mic quality is pretty awful- you can find headsets with better quality audio than this at this priceDo I recommend?I'd say if you're looking for a decent quality headset that's comfortable, at a reasonable priceand looks good, then this could be an option. I've been using it for a while now and it does the job, however I think I prefer my old Razer Kraken, the mic quality was better and the audio sounded better in my opinion. I was a little bit disappointed with these when I first got them but over time they have grown on me.I'd say look at other options first before committing to buying this.

I was looking at buying a cheap pair of headphones and after talking to friends who had the steelseries pro headset I decided to go with some steelseries ones. I initially was going to buy the artic 3's but so happy that I decided to go with these ones as the chatmix is really great and the quality is amazing, great sound at a fraction of the price of the pro ones.Super pleased with these, not only are they great sound and feel good (they're super light but not feeling cheap and they are very comfortable to wear on the ears for several hours) but they're so pretty too, may not be important to some but was to me, I love the colour changing feature and the overall look of the headset is just nice, simple and clean. I would definitely recommend to anyone.

Would give this a 5 out of 5 if there was just a pair of gaming headphones that worked perfectly on Xbox and PC. These are great, they work nicely on both, but I have no idea why I can't use the USB function on my Xbox?! It seems crazy, aside from that, the audio is nice enough quality and they are very comfortable. Just struggled to find a nice set of wired headphones that worked on everything. If that's what you want, and also want to avoid bluetooth or other wireless tech (like i did) then go for these or the Arctis 3. I just plumped for these because of the RGB lighting and the Chat/Game mixer thing, for when I play games on my PC instead of my Xbox or Switch. Otherwise, these were fairly good value (on sale) and they feel nicely made so far.

Pros:good mic qualitygood sound qualitya lot of control over volume and balencingmic doesn't pick up headset speaker soundsCons:feels a bit heavy so can get unconfortable after a long session (around 4 hours; small break and movement of head set seems to fix)leaves noticable headset hairsome time ears get too hotsound changes when turning head (gets loader and quieter in either ear)I think that this is a good headset over all. The cons are not bad enough for me not to recommend the product personally, as most of them can be solve with minor adjustments and a small break every now and again. I wear this headset for probably at least 5 hours everyday and haven't though about returning it orgetting a different one.

The headphones themselves are excellent. The audio is very good and the mic is acceptable. However, the SteelSeries Engine will not for whatever reason let me install the DTS 7.1 surround sound which is a major selling point of these headphones. It simply fails and renders my PC useless and I hard to hard reset it. My PC is not an old withering box either. It is only a year old with September 2019 components. The bottom line is: If you don't care about lighting configuration or 7.1 audio they'll be great.Edit: The next day after writing this review and more attempts to install the DTS system it worked!! I can say the 7.1 audio is amazing. So after a full product experience I will up this review from three to four stars.
