One thing i must say about this up front is it ruddy heavy, i actually had to weight the bits separately on my kitchen scales as its so heavy (5kg limit), it actually weighs slightly less than 7kg. Its not a pan for anyone with weak wrists or no upper body strength. This is an awesome pan with many functions, it can be used as steamer but could also be a casserole dish or a normal pan on the hob. Ive used it to boil swede to mash whilst having the brussel sprouts (best vegetable ever) cooking in the steamer. I waas very impressed.- The pan heats up quickly- the lid fits perfectly on the pan and the steamer- the pan hold heat really well- the steam all goes into the steamer rather than escapingout of the lid- The nobbles on the inside of the lid mean the steam condensates all over the nobbles and then drips back into the pan, so the food cook quicklyThings i noticed, the knob on the lid gets hot, really hot, i need a mini knob glove for it or something. The steamer is hard to lift when its hot as it doesnt have handles. Thankfully its not as heavy as the other two bits!I have said it before and ill say it again, if you want to take your cooking to the next level you need decent quality cookwear. I never understood this until i got a decent frying pan and suddenly i could make omelettes (true). I hadnt noticed all my frying pans have a domed base, hard to make a thin flat thing in a non flat pan! This is an awesome (if really solid/heavy) multiuse pan. There is no way i can drain it when its full (too heavy) so i just lift the veg out with my wire scoop thing! I can cope when its just water.

This is a beautiful pan. It may not be the most important thing about a pan but it is the first think you notice. It's a beautiful deep blue with a high sheen and it looks great! It is also very big; I hadn’t fully envisaged its size before it arrived, so it's quite a big bigger than I’d expected. It is also very heavy - much heavier than my le creuset pans and I definitely need both hands to lift it, so you can’t just be grabbing a trivet or opening the oven door etc while you’re holding it.That apart, it's a great, versatile pan and can go from hob to oven. Obviously it has a large capacity and the specially designed lid means it’s great at keeping liquid for slow cooking or holding in steam. The steamer part (which is easily removed)also has a large capacity and adds quite a lot of height to the pan, and the silicon seal ensures a good fit to the pan, and the lid holds the steam in well.I haven’t had this pan long enough to comment on its longevity but so far I’ve been impressed. Would I spend this amount of money on a pan? To be honest I'm not sure. Maybe when I've used it regularly for a year or so, only then will I be able to comment on Moneysworth, and that's the reason for the 4, rather than 5 stars.

I've had some 2nd hand pots from a similar manufacturer for a number of years but had been looking to replace the largest and this came up to try. I've seen some other reviewers comment on the enamel wearing out fast. Mine has been good so far, using it over Christmas and for the past few weeks, but still too early to tell.Firstly, this is a super heavy piece of equipment. I was really surprised by the weight of this, even without anything in it. Once full it can easily be over 10kg meaning you'll want a good grip on it before lifting which can be tricky for some ovens. This does mean that it retain heats really well for cooking things slowly in the oven but does also mean that you can't for example drain this by yourself.Event with someone else holding the lid it's a little tricky!Having the steamer is a nice feature, and with the silicon gasket around the edge it forms a tight seal so that all of the steam goes into cooking. This is really handy for saving space on the cooker for those big meals, allowing you to steam some vegetables while you boil something else below.Although I am enjoying the use of this pot, it definitely won't be for everyone.

This pot is amazing, the first thing you will notice is that the box it comes in is heavy, very heavy. This is a solid pot that has a weight to match and this might be a problem for some people. It also makes washing it up difficult, I found it hard to move in the sink, especially when filled with water but I do have carpal tunnel in my hands which can make my hands weak. You can put this in the dishwasher but I'd suggest being careful so you don't overload the door with too much weight as it is heavy!! I really like that this has the steamer option and that this can easily be removed if you don't want to use it. The pot itself can be used on any hob or in the oven which is great,it means you can easily brown meat before adding the rest of your ingredients and putting it into the oven to slow cook. With the steamer, it is quite tall and so it takes up a lot of cupboard space in my kitchen but I think that it is worthy of that space as it can be used for so many things. It isn't cheap but the quality is obvious and although I'm not a big fan of cooking, I do enjoy using this.

My new favorite item in my kitchen.Suitable for any type of cooktop, even induction.Absolutely stunning design, looks super classy colour is beautiful and the whole product is so so so well made.Heavy so a bit tricky to clean in hands but you can do it in dish washer if you have one. Keep in mind that max temperature for a cooking with silicon ring is 200 degrees (silicon attached to stainless steel steamer).Diameter is 26 cm-5.25 L.Absolutely perfect stainless steel steamer for dumplings, I also used the pot for slow cooking in the oven- 4 h dish was super delicious. This piece of cookware is pricy but let me tell you that it is worth every single penny as it will last forever. At the end of the day I prefer pay a lot of money for a quality product which will last me many years rather than changing and buying same thing each year. Oh dear how happy I am with this goodie! Feels and looks so proper, what a quality! I think so far this is the best quality product I own in my kitchen. My absolute full and honest recommendation.

What a pot!!!! Well... cocotte. This is one of the best cookware items I have ever acquired. The first one ( the one I started my love affair with staub) was a smaller one that is perfect for roasting a small joint, just enough for a dinner for two. Self-basting, slow heat release, great for all sorts of cookers ( hobs & ovens) makes it one of the easiest pots to use - stick meat in, add spuds half way through ( well in the case of my first smaller one - at the sane time) and forget about it until it's done. The food is really juicy, spuds fall apart and it's soooo full of flavour, cwords cannot describe it. Now this one is not just a bigger version ( 30 cm diameter) , but with a steamer (I believe it creates pressure too, as steaming takes less time), it's a must have in every kitchen. It's a kitchen I need, a new, fancy one now to match this pot. Lol! Husband!!!!!! ?????

4.5 starsSTAUB Cocotte with steamer. Round 26cm diameter. Dark Blue.A cast iron round cooking pot with lid and a steamer this product dry weighs at just over 4kg / 8.8lb. It can also hold around 5lt / just under 8 pints of liquid, which adds to the overall weight when lifting during cooking. The weight may be a downside to this product.A very solid cooking pot that has lots of potential and can be used on all heat sources, even inside your oven. The metal knob on top of the lid does get hot, so take care when lifting the lid.I used this to create a family sized hearty slow cooked stew and was very pleased with the results. The self-moistening lid system helped to prevent evaporation which was a bonus for my stew.I have lots more recipes that I’m looking forward to trying.Overall, a good investment piece of kitchen equipment.

Firstly, this pot weighs a ton, so make sure you're prepared for that when it arrives! It is cast iron, and actually bigger than I anticipated - I hadn't realised that the 26cm refers to the height, not the width … but I'm not complaining! The blue one is a lovely colour for starters - looks great in the kitchen. As a pan by itself this would be fantastic, but with the addition of the broad steamer, this is a real one pot wonder. I can see that this will be a permanent fixture on my gas hob, and will last a lifetime. Don't hesitate if you're looking for some really good cookware!

I have mainly used this for stews and chilli. It is very heavy, so you need to be careful when lifting it and washing it up. Feels really good quality. The steamer insert is a really nice addition although I am more of a boiler or baker when it comes to veg. I wish i'd gotten it sooner so I could steam the Christmas pudding. When cooking stew no steam escaped as all, which allowed me not to worry that it was drying out.If you've got the money to spend on this, then I would heartily recommend it.

Cast iron cooking pot is solid, durable but oh so heavy! The weight was expected and is reassuring but could be problematic to someone weaker or older, so be aware.Staub is very versatile - from boiling potatoes to making stews and using for frying meat. It keeps moisture, it cooks evenly and can be moved from a stove top to oven.I love it and it’s a staple in my kitchen; I gave away 3 other pots as this one is totally sufficient and suitable for most cooking jobs.

I love the size and colour of this. It is easier to keep clean than the matt black version (got the grey one) and the size of the steamer is just perfect! Great for breadmaking as well and according to lead safe america free from heavy metals. I prefer staub over my le creuset. Less sticking and better bread.

Wary of cast iron cooking? Don't be with this ((rather expensive) cocotte. It's superb. Follow the basic cleaning and seasoning instructions and all is good. The food that has been cooked in this since purchased has been noticeably better tasting.A real pleasure to use and use use again!

I bought this for my son and he loves it! I have bought another oval shape 7 quarts Granadine color from the Amazon US website for my own use. Love it! Easy to clean and the food cooked evenly. Love the product and the color. I event bought the animal feature knobs!
