This is a great idea to give a little added peace of mind at the beach or poolside in these summer months particularly. My 4 year old thought this fab and despite being described as a boy print by some my girl loved it but then she loves both princessey and batman/outdoor play/diggers as equally as each other so she didn't blink twice at blue whales she just wanted it on!This really is a buoyancy aid rather than a life jacket though which is worth pointing out to parents, in the same way that holding a swimming float or pool noodle in an unbalanced way won't hold a child up, if the child doesn't hold bodily tension to balance themselves they may struggle still.Thus it's not something that reduces or negates parental responsibility near water (though I'm probably preaching to the choir here) and a point to consider if your child has gross motor issues they may be better with another type of swimming aid (such as arm bands additionally)Size wise it is as expected for the age band. It fits like a gilet, zipping up and an additional fastening to reduce fiddles.My children are very small for their ages, my just turned 4 year old is towered over by 2.5 yr olds at activity sessions so this size is a great investment for us as it will last her a good length of time, but her cousin who is 2 months younger is already well out of this size band as he's a much sturdier build and tall for his age, but equally if we had bought this for her 2 years ago it would have been unusable as she would've been too small.So don't necessarily buy for age buy for the build of your child whether delicate or more solid for their age.Overall a great buy for parents especially for a little extra peace of mind should they get knocked over by a rogue wave etc walking along the surf next to you it gives them a little extra boost to right themselves or a little added confidence in the pool to build the core strength and positioning that helps with learning to swim.

This swimming buoyancy aid is perfect for children who are nearly confident enough to swim unaided, but just need a little bit of extra help to get positioned correctly. It's got a small amount of foam in it to help the child to swim, but it should never be used as a lifejacket or for open-water activities, only in the pool under direct adult supervision.It isn't bulky, so it won't affect the child's range of movement as they are learning to swim. It's important that it should always fit snugly so it can't ride up on the child, so I'd suggest trying on several sizes to be sure you get the right size, or carefully measure your child's chest before you buy online.The fabric is lovely,and the manufacturing quality is excellent. The zip is big and chunky, so it's easy to zip it up with wet hands. I love the pattern, it's fun and smart. So much nicer than the buoyancy aids at swimming pools and places like Center Parcs.Some swimming schools don't like using buoyancy aids because they can give the child a false sense of security around water, so it's important to tell your child that the buoyancy aid helps them float but they should never go near water when there isn't an adult there too.5 stars.

An immediate success, as the three year old boy, our youngest grandson, took to it straightaway and very proudly wore it; loving the whale pattern, and the idea of it being his. I chose it to keep him safer near the holiday swimming pool he is heading off to shortly. It is quite tight, but he is a rather well built three and three quarter year old, and additionally, we decided it needs to be close fitting to work, stay on and keep him up.There will be no problem getting him to wear it. The sun protection aspect is also a big plus, a thoughtful extra feature. The zipper is robust plastic and runs well, the closure tab makes everything feel done up. It is not a life jacket,such as he would need in a boat out at sea; but a helper when learning to swim, as he is doing, and an extra precaution when staying near a pool. It is well made and good quality, his parents are very pleased to have found such a useful extra helper. It is light enough to pack without adding much weight, and easily carried around.

This is a good swim vest.It is made from neoprene – the same material as wetsuits. It is therefore soft so it does not chafe the skin.The zip is thick, which is good (photo 3). There is also a Velcro closure over it to reduce the chance that it will become unzipped (also photo 3). In that photo, you can see a strip of fabric behind the zip, to prevent you catching skin when zipping it up. Photo 4 shows the same strip of fabric but viewed from the inside of the vest.There is a critical difference between this and some other swim vests – this one does not have removable floats i.e. you cannot adjust the buoyancy.The advantage of a swim vest like this is that your child’s arms are unrestricted (unlike arm bands,for example) and cannot suffer a puncture like arm bands can. In addition, it is fairly compact – it does not take up much space in suitcase.As with all items like this, this is a swimming aid, not a life vest – it needs to be used under adult supervision.

This is a fantastic flotation vest for toddlers.I've been looking around for a few weeks now at various ones. Fitting is key as the one I had before tended to rise up when fitted to my boy and generally got in the way.This one fits him great and he's 3 at the moment. It's better for these to run snug to make sure they stay in place. Made from a really soft neoprene there are no seams etc that would rub or cause discomfort. This one fits chest size 51-56 cms.A buoyancy aid this is not a life jacket. What it does though is help you lo float and have confidence and support int he pool. My son has cp and this helps keep him warm too.The design is lovely and son loves the whale theme as he lovessea animals at the moment.Really really good and I'll be buying the next size up when he outgrow this.

This is a really good idea for a bit of added security and peace of mind in the pool, for children who can not quite yet managed to swim unassisted. It's easy to wear, like a little jacket, and just gives them a bit more bouyancy although does not mean that they still could not sink, so they of course have to be supervised as well it is only a back up. It comes in various patterns, the same ones you can get with other Splash about baby and toddler swimwear I think, so you could match this with younger siblings swimming wear too if you want to - for extra cuteness on holiday, as well as safety having them all in the same.It's well made as with all Splash about products we've used,and it's another handy one to have available in your swim bag

This vest is fantastic! Our 3 year old daughter has been having swimming lessons at the local leisure centre for the past 6 months (without the vest) and is confident in the water but can only swim for very brief periods. With the vest on she can swim unaided for long periods of time and absolutely loves it. We took it along on our summer holiday abroad and she swam in the pool virtually every day. Although she was supervised by an adult at all times she loved being able to swim around by herself and float in the water. It was quick to put on and take off and comfortable to wear. Dries quickly, is very light and folds flat so easy to fit in the suitcase. Absolutely brilliant!

2yr - 4yr // 15 - 30kg sizeThe splash about Swim Vest is CE approved with in built UPF 50+ sun protectionExcellent value for extra peace of mind when paddling or swimming in open water or at a pool / water park ( but not to be used as a life vest or while on a boat. The colour & design means it can be used with a boy or a girl with no obvious bias towards either gender.Great attention to detail with precise stitching, solid plastic zip with large, easy to grip zip pull & a secure fit on our nearly 3yr old boy. It took him a couple of uses to get used to it, but now he loves the extra buoyancy it gives him when in the pool.Couldn't be happier with it.

My 3 year old loves this swimming vest so much that she wears it around the house - It took some convincing to get her to take it off before bed-time! It fastens with a simple plastic zip and velcro strap at the top, and seems to be a comfy fit and well made. In the pool it performs well and I was able to let her splash around happily a few feet away from me without feeling concerned. I would never let a young child use it unattended (obviously), but more than happy to be several feet away. It's given her more confidence in the pool and I'm sure she'll continue to use it until she grows out of it.

This is a great floaty vest for keeping your child above water but allowing them to learn to swim. It is not too thick or bulky so my two year old was able to use her arms and, of course, legs to “swim” back in forth between parents. It was buoyant enough to keep her head above water but still allow her body to be horizontal. It did slide up a little but it didn’t bother her or rub her anywhere. Well made, nice color and pattern and good fit. Im super happy with this purchase! My 2.5 yo is 30 lbs and I got her a size 2-4 years. She has room to grow into it but it fits well enough now too.

I tried this for the first time yesterday on my young son:- lightweight- easy to put on (large zip)- whilst it will keep a child's head above water, it won't keep them floating on the water. I liked this as it still encouraged my son to kick about to ensure he remained afloat, whilst allowing me to pull him along to practice strokes, kicking, etc.Overall I really liked this product, I can see us using it each time we go to the swimming pool, until my son is more confident in the water.Note that I've only tried this in a swimming pool... probably not advisable to use in the sea.

My son really liked this. So much so, he didn't want to take it off after swimming.It's a little different to what I expected as I thought it would make him "float" more but it doesn't really do that. It assists with buoyancy and well that helps because its also an extra worry off a mums shoulders.Its nice and soft and fits him really well. He is 2 and it fits him nicely now but there is also enough growing room left in this, so he won't grow out of it too quickly.The design is beautiful and you can tell how good the quality is.

We got this for our granddaughter, 16 months. She is small and loves water. All water. We wanted something that would hold her just in case she got away from us, for a second. She wears this with no complaints. I wouldn't just leave her floating in the water alone, she's too young and it fits a little big on her. She's 32" tall and 20 lbs to give an idea. It's snug enough to stay on her, she can't get it off, but not a life saving device. It helps and I feel better with it on her. Good material, construction, has held up well.

My son loves wearing this vest.It assists with his buoyancy when in the water so gives me a little more peace of mind. It also provides a little warmth for him when in our cold local swimming pool!It is nice and soft so he has found it comfy to wear. He is three and it fits him well although I do not think it'll last through to next summer.The design is lovely, very eye catching. Every part of the vest is well made and good quality.I'm really pleased and anticipate this being worn every day on holiday.

I love this Splash About Kids Go Splash Swim Vest,it is designed in aqua colours with whales,anchors on it.It is lightweight and easy to fold,so fits into holiday luggage no problem and is also sun protected and is made for children between 2 to 4 with maximum body mass in kilograms 15-18 and 18-22.The extra secure puncture proof foam helps the youngster stay afloat and holds the child in the right position to swim without being too restrictive in movements.What a great thing for children to have !
