I had been holding my daughter to swim around in the pool since she's 5 months old. She's now 8 months old and getting too heavy for my wrists, so I decided to get this after I saw a friend's son using it. She was mad when I first put it on her at home. Then I tried again in the pool and she was totally ok with it since it made her float right away. I'm so happy to buy it because I don't have to hold her anymore and I can teach her how to kick from behind. It is great that it came with clear instructions telling you how to use the product.I found it difficult to keep the air in while trying to close the valves, so I slid the cap into my mouth to close the valve while blowing. I bought this for a trip to Mexico with our 3 month old baby and it was perfect. It perfect for taking him in the pool to cool off. He really seemed to enjoy floating around and kicking his feet around. He is a bit younger than is recommended for this float but it seemed secure on him and I stayed very close to him the whole time. We practiced using it by placing him in it in the bathtub twice a week, starting at 2 months and letting him float around. I really recommend this if you can do it because it gave him time to really get used to the float (there was a little meltdown the first time he used it)

This is the best baby swim product on the market, we will be getting these for all baby gifts! We bought this for our third child, I couldn't find anything like this with our first two children. They all hated the swim canopy rings because they couldn't move and they got bored. We held our kids in the pool & lake until they were old enough for the puddle jumper(best for a toddler)...this is a gem of a product! Our son has free range motion of his arms & legs, he splashes himself across the pool in no time! He loves it and it makes swim time much more enjoyable for the whole family. No fear of flipping or slipping out of this product at all..we started him at 7 months old, about 20 pounds.

We love this swim trainer! Much better than other floats that keep your kid upright, and not in proper swim position. We have used this all summer on the lake and pool (from when he was 3 months). and it has been great. It deflates and packs up small so we even brought it on vacation!'Our guy is skinny, so in the beginning, I was a little worried because it didn't seem that the waist part got tight enough around him. But if their arms are over and in the right place (we gauge that his chin needs to be just beyond the green frog) it works great. You would need to be in the water in arms readh of your baby with this product. (As with all floats). We highly recommend it to all our friends!

My 2 1/2 year old loves this and so do I. It keeps him up out of the water. He does try to get his face in the water but the float doesn't let him stay under. His brother tried pushing him from front to back but it did tip backwards and he went under but we were close and pulled him up. So we established a rule, "Do not touch the baby" and we haven't had anymore trouble. He swims anywhere he wants to go in the pool and loves his freedom. I think this is great. I normally use the puddle jumpers but he doesn't weigh enough yet and I am very pleased with this purchase. Just use common sense when a baby or any child is in the pool...keep your eyes on them and stay close by.

I love it! And so my baby!!! It took me awhile to decide, I wasn't sure cause it doesn't go in between the legs. I wasn't sure if it would be safe but I read the reviews and I ordered it. It is amazing!! My baby was 4 months old when he tried it for the first time and he loved it. He was kicking, not scared at all (me neither ;) )and he was so happy. It is really secure. I really like that it comes for different ages/weights. I will definitely bought the other one (orange i think) when he gets to heavy for that one. It really is a swim trainer! I am happy 100%!

My son is one of those babies that thinks he can swim and he can't! Every time we would go swimming he would wiggle and try to get out of my arms. I tried every kind of float out there. None of them kept his head out of the water with out me holding on to him. He did not want me to hold on to him. When I got this it was wonderful. I was able to let him float around the pool without holding on to him. It gave him the freedom he wanted. But just as a warning they can tip them selfs over backward and end up upside down! But I would still definitely buy this again.

Overall, this is a good product. I got one for my 6 mos old an d one for my 3 yr old. Now, my 3 yo loves to go swimming with this. I also have other moms asked about this when they saw us. It encourages the normal swimming position with tummy down and that helps building confident for my older one. However, one thing I am not happy with is this thing can be easily flipped over and because of how tight it fits, it makes it hard for the child to get out and can cause drowning. Make sure your child is under supervision when using it (like it says on the box. )

My 7 month old son LOVES this! His first time in the pool, and he kicked around all by himself! I stood within arms reach, but he didn't need anything from me! He did not slide out like you might think! The inner white part has several air chambers to inflate, and if you have a smaller/younger baby, then you just fill them up all the way. I like product over other infant seats because they can put their arms in the water, and they lay flatter. They really intuitively paddle around.

I bought this SwimTrainer after I used another Amazon tube that goes around the neck--it was totally safe and we used it in the tub. We upgraded to this product and to our surprise, it was a hit for our 9 month old daughter! She is already kicking and moving herself to the other side of the pool. She isn't even crawling yet but my baby can swim! Maybe this will encourage her to crawl but I think she is going to walk before that ever happens. Good luck!

Got the swimtrainer today for my 6 month old nephew and just tried it out. He LOVED it!! He was able to float around the tub and touch the bottom with his feet and kick around. I need to learn how to better adjust the straps as he was sort of slipping out after a while. I don't think I had it adjusted properly, I was in a hurry to try it out. I was super excited and so was he. Also, it was a good size for a regular/standard tub. Fit perfect.

We bought it in April but did not get to use it until later, when it was no longer eligible for the return. The ring was defective and deflated after the 2nd use. I originally posted a negative review. However, I contacted the company, and they sent me a replacement since that one rink was defective. I am impressed by customer service and sure that the replacement will work great since it seemed like a good product my baby loved.

We bought this thinking we could give it a try and throw it away but it went beyond our expectations and now has become our best thing to play with our daughter. She seems comfortable in it and laughs and smiles whenever she is out in water. We have had so much fun since the purchase. Definitely buy this if you want your baby to start learning swimming or work out their baby fats.

We were struggling to find a good float for our 33lb toddler who loves the pool, but needs a confidence building float. This is it. The belly pane keeps them laying flat while on this and it keeps them steady. This is a fantastic product. Only improvement would be the snaps. They are thin plastic so a little cheap and can be difficult to open. That is my only gripe

I love that this product gives my 2 year old the ability to swim freely. Meaning I don't have to hold him the entire time we swim. It holds him up and allows him to use his arms and legs to practice swimming motions. He has so much fun in the pool now, his father and I just make sure we are in arms reach and let him do his thing! Definitely recommend!
