This is a very competent mouse a reasonable price but not without its flaws.Pros:*It looks pretty cool. For a budget mouse it's definitely got style and I quite like the colour scheme and combo with LEDs, even when two of the colours I was unsure would work with red are on (purple and green).* It feels pretty good - the quality is definitely better than I was expecting. The rubberised coating gives it a much more premium and comfortable feel albeit I feel it's a little too slick for good grip.* It's really easy to switch between its dpi (dots per inch) resolutions - there's a hardware switch on the mouse that toggles between the preset resolutions with a colour confirmation (red for 800,green for 1,200, blue for 2,000, white for 3,200). You can see this take effect immediately with mouse responsiveness* Toggling autofire mode is quite simple though it's mapped to the left button so you're a little bit out of luck if you're a leftie* The sheath is great and feels a lot like Anker cables in terms of quality. It's also pretty long.* I've had no issues connecting it on either my PC or my MacBookCons:* For some reason the mouse is set to cycle through each of the LED settings in a 'breathing pattern (slow on slow off). That's fine when my computer's asleep or if I like it like that but I find it really distracting in my peripheral vision - it's effectively a blinker going 'LOOK AT ME! LOOK AT ME!'. Not ideal when you're gaming. I searched up and down for ways to change it but the guide on the website is the same as the leaflet with the mouse - I think it's not changeable. I was very tempted to give the mouse three stars as a result but it's not all that much of a deal-breaker.* If you're a serious gamer you'll want higher resolutions and a better look but then again you probably will be looking at the upper level of premium mice rather than more budget.[* It's clearly designed for a right-handed user. That's fine for me but you'll want to watch out if you're left-handed]Verdict: A good mouse, useful for most gaming and large screens while looking pretty good and feeling pretty comfortable. I feel it's a little let down by its LED system but the mouse is still recommended.

I bought my last mouse maybe a month ago when my previous one died, but have found it irritating to use and the scroll wheel is extremely unpredictable. As I use a Chromebook the scroll wheel is pretty important to usability as there are no top and bottom arrows on the scroll bar. That mouse cost around £8 delivered so I guess you pays your money and takes your choice! So having the chance to use a more mid-range option like this Speedlink was very welcome.First thing to say about it is the packaging is good. If you got this model as a gift you wouldn't think it was junk. The mouse itself is wired, which is a bit of a downer, but well put together. It has a professional looking cord and a nice rubberised coating to the mouse itself. It's a bit garish colour wise but gaming gear tends to be a bit OTT eh?I adjusted speed easily straight from the standard Chromebook settings and then a quick click on the DPI button had me set up with my personal preferences. Easy as pie. It's more on the Rat side than Mouse, so not ideal for travel and using on a train for example. I have got used to it quite quickly despite generally preferring a smaller mouse. Everything works as it should and this is definitely an upgrade over the cheap and cheerful effort I had been using.Worth noting I've owned easily double figures in mice over my computing life and this is as good as the best and better than many. At the current price of £17 or so it's well worth the 5***** recommendation. Please note that I am not using it as a gaming mouse so I can't comment there. As a day to day mouse all is good, but check some of the other reviews if you have a specific gaming need. Given how much use a mouse gets you want one that feels right for you, so your mileage may vary. For me ... I'm happy!

This is a review of the Contus Speedlink gaming mouse. This is a budget gaming mouse that provides all the basics and is excellent value for money at the current price of less than £17. There are a number of different models with some offering programmable keys but I question how often you will use this. This mouse is comfortable to use and is good enough to replace my existing Logitech gaming mouse that is over twice the price. It does look a bit flashy with its red body and LED breathing function but is well made and feels comfortable to hold. It is a corded mouse with a 1.8M lead which consists of a red braided cable that looks long lasting. It is more suited to right handed users but as a left handed I can also use it although the two "forward and back" buttons are not ideal and can be easily knocked by mistake. In addition it has left and right buttons with a scroll wheel and resolution button. The resolution button changes the colour of the mouse (something the Logitech does not do) but then it cycles again so changing resolution is a bit of trial and error. All buttons are microswitched and feel positive and the mouse tracks accurately on all resolutions. It has slightly rubberised sides and fits nicely in the hand. I have used it on a number of games and found it intuitive and easy to use with enough resolution to provide accurate aiming as well as being responsive without being too sensitive. Overall a quality mouse at a reasonable price.

Got to admit, this will mostly be used by my 10 year old nephew when he visits. His review? He was a little sniffy when comparing it to his home gaming mouse, but think it's a good step up for me. Loves the colour, all the buttons are in the right place, and feels well put together. Apparently the macros are easy to set up. Whatever that means. My review? Argh! It flashes! And it has buttons everywhere! I'd much rather see him bash this off the desk than destroy (another!) expensive office optical mouse.

Comfortable to use, much more ergonomic than some much more expensive models I've tried, tracks well on suitable surfaces and has proved durable. I've owned this mouse for over 3 years now and it's held up very well. The way it lights up in slow changing rainbow colours is a lovely bonus.

I have been using this mouse for while and have no complaints. Nice look and feel, 5 buttons, good scroll wheel with a dpi button.
