***UPDATE***Okay 11 months into using this as a replacement for yet another failed Logitech M570. I just replaced the batter for the first time (I'd fitted it with a Duracell bog standard battery not rechargeable). Trackball has worked flawlessly for over a year now, very please with it overall** UPDATE ENDS **The speedlink is very slightly more angular in the hand, and the plastic looks a little bit cheaper - but it's just as comfortable. In use it is almost identical. The speedlink has a couple of features the M570 lacks. 1) Being able to change the DPI. Takes a while to get used to this extra button (and stop pressing it by accident) but once I had I have found it useful on occasion for finer work.2) The left right on the wheel button. Having originally come from a mouse which had that additional movement I really missed it on the M570. Being able to scroll up and down but not left and right bugged me so I'm grateful the speedlink has it.Software wise I use the free x-mouse utility (just downloaded from the net) to replace that which Logitech offeredAll in all I prefer this to the logitech. The open question of course will be how long will it last before the micro-switches eventually die. Logitech seems to have a shelf life of about a year before they die on me, so I'll come back and update this in a years time to let you know how it's suriviving in comparison

I don't know why but there seems to be a dirth of thumb driven trackball mice and it took a while for me to spot this very reasonably priced trackball. Trackballs with th eball mounted centrally make my hand ache because I need to place my middle fingers onto the trackball and that position is awkward to me.This is why I was very happy to find this thumb driven trackball. It arrived quickly and was up and running in seconds. Just remove the receiver from the bottom of the mouse and into a spare USB slot, insert the batteries and you're rockin' and rollin'.I have large hands and this fits my hand great, The trackball is sensative and the trackwheel has a nice muted click to it and is also able to by pushed over to the left or the right for horizontal scrolling of web pages. It's also clickable downwards too. There are an additional three buttons placed down the left hand side of the main buttons. The can be used for surfing the web, going back and forward in your browser. This is a right handed trackball mouse. There are rubber pieces on the bottom so that the device stays in place and being a trackball, you don't need as much desktop space as a regular mouse to use so it's purfect for small desks or roll out keyboard shelves.Build quality seems to be good.If you are looking for a good trackball mouse for everyday use, this is one to look at. Recommended.

Having used the rock solid, huge MS trackball for years I wanted a spare for my other PC. However, these are no longer manufactured. You can oicj them up on ebay for an inflated price.Given the good reviews I plumped for this one as apposed to the Logitech. It's way smaller than an MS trackball. The ball is lighter and feels cheap, plasticy and hollow. There is no software to customise the button use.It is fairly accurate and responsive. The ball hasn't jammed yet (a problem with some other trackballs if not cleaned regularly).I can happily live with this trackball, but will still look for an alternative closer to the MS version. Its certainly worth a go if you've never used a trackball.

Really good to use, and reliable so far.Only one small issue - the high definition button lets you switch between fine control and faster movement, which is good - but it's not ideally positioned, and is only a momentary switch: a toggle would be better, so you can leave it on one setting of the other more or less permanently.

Not bad but not as good as I wish it was. The ball moves slower than my last mouse and feels scratchy if that makes sense! Ok but not sensational!

Bought this trackball mouse to play video games while sitting on the couch with my laptop. It's just great, very comfortable, and very precise.
