I bought this as a replacement for a slightly older version. I cannot complain about the quality of picture and sound etc, the HDR is a big plus and not being 4k is not a major issue due to this. I do have a few smallish niggles and for some they could be a reason not to buy this TV.The biggest niggle I have is that this TV only has 2 HDMI inputs. This generally is not much of an issue for many people but many of us have multiple systems we need to connect to our TV. I have a Sony soundbar which connects using ARC and takes up one of the HDMI's. Using ARC means not having to have another remote or having to mute the TV speakers. But this then means that you can only connect one more device unless you buy a separate HDMI splitter. The other issue is that there is no satellite (f-type) input for freesat tv. I have no conventional aerial (co-axial) so I am not able to get any digital tv channels through the TV. I do have Sky so it's not a major issue, but if I am recording 2 programmes on sky then i can't watch the separate digital TV.Overall it's a good TV with a good picture but only gets 4* from me due to the HDMI issue.

I am overall quite pleased with the performance of this TV and it's connectivity. One thing that I am disappointed about is that it does not connect properly with my laptop via HDMI - I see the mouse but the rest of the screen remains black. Thankfully it has two USB ports to which I can connect external drives to access media and it plays from these quite well. The TV also integrates with the Sony Home Cinema System I purchased at the same time, though you do need HDMI to connect via ARC between the two which means I'm not sure how sound is getting from the TV to the sound system - via HDMI or the optical cable I specifically bought to ensure the best signal transmission.Good value TV, though,as most people do not need (and would not tell the difference with) 4K with the distance that they are usually watching their TV from, so it was a good way for me to get a relatively big screen without paying for features that I really wouldn't use.

We bought this TV a few weeks ago after comparing the set in the shop with a number of other brands and even against a 4K Sony model. We didn't need a 4K TV so this is great value as the picture for non 4K broadcasts is actually better than the 4K model. Our other concern was sound quality. So many slim, flat screen, TVs have really small poor speakers necessitating a sound bar as an additional expense . This TV has a thicker section on the rear, only about 3cms thick, which allows for a couple of much heftier downward facing speakers that give a great depth and quality to the sound. It looks great as well having the legs wide rather than standing on a central base as this allows the DVD playerto sit neatly underneath the centre of the screen. It's simple to set up and navigate with the remote control.

I bought this TV to replace a Samsung TV which met its demise due to a Nerf gun incident. The Sony TV is alright, I can think of nothing amazing about it. The Samsung TV it replaced was a similar price/size but had more in terms of functionality, more HDMI connections, Alexa compatability etc. The Sony is lacking slightly in all these things. Would I buy it again, probably not but at the same time the things its missing aren't enough to warrant me returning it. The picture is good, although sometimes black pictures as slightly grainy, which I never noticed on the Samsung. The sound is good, but then all TV's are now designed with Soundbars in kind therefore its nothing to shout about. To summarise, this TV is just "Meh" its not the best but ita definitely not the worst.

Purchased within the last week and am very happy with the overall quality of the television other than the fact that I have been unable to turn the television off!! Initially seems to turn off when operated with remote but then decides to turn itself back on! Have since come downstairs twice in the morning to find the television has been happily playing away all night! Have also tried main power button under the television but same thing happened! Not really what you expect from such a reputable company as yourselves, chose to go for a sony for quality and reliability. After previously owning a Samsung which was working perfectly fine for 20 years until sadly died,we decided to go for a highquality replacement from yourselves and am now wondering if we made the right decision!

I am overall pleased with this TV though It’s early days. As it depends on internet access, it sometimes fails, and I’m often asked to reconfigure it’s connection - I’m not sure if that’s due to the installation or not. The remote control is a bit slower than I had before but that may need getting used to, and the Channel guide takes forever to load sometimes. Oh and DON’T lean on it as I did when I accidentally tripped near it - one touch and it fell to the ground, shattering the screen. I had to buy another one, at great cost, as my insurance didn’t cover accidental damage. But the picture and sound (thanks to extra sound bar) is fantastic. The TV itself is great, very stylish-looking,my main gripe is with access to I internet apps, but I’m slowly getting used to that.

Had set a couple of weeks now mainly as an upgrade from an older Panasonic 42 inch screen to a larger screen and 50 inch seemed the best size. Another Sony I have (43inch) non HDR seems to have a better picture quality. This new HDR one has so many different settings it is difficult to get it just right. Sometimes screen seems a bit washed out, other times particularly in SD broadcasts which I try to avoid (but local news is SD) images have a strange shadowy look to them especially faces and colours look blotchy. Didn't feel I needed a 4K as I have read they really only improve images on much larger screens and then only when sat closer to them so happy to have this HD set but was expecting better.Sounds seems very 'echoey' too. Not as good a sound as old Panasonic.

This TV was easy to set up and produced a fantastic picture. The audio side was not all that my wife and I found easy to listen to, we are both over 80 years old and at this age our hearing is not perfect so on our other TV's we have adjusted the equaliser to reduce the Bass content and increase the Treble a little. This we have done on this model but we still have difficulty with some of the programs so we tend to put on the Subtitle's which do work OK except for when you change channels. For some reason the Subtitle has to be reset every time you flick onto another channel or even go back to the original one. This is most annoying.Apart from this the set is perfect and I would certainly recommend it.

TV HAS GOOD PICTURE & SOUND. BOUGHT A FEW MONTHS AGO, ONE FOR MYSELF & ONE FOR 91YR OLD FATHER WE BOTH ARE PLEASED WITH THE PRODUCT, THE ONLY DOWN SIDE IS THE REMOTE IT TAKES SEVERAL SECONDS TO MOVE THE EPG ALONG SO YOU'RE WAITING SOMETIMES IMPATIENTLY TO FIND OUT WHATS ON. ALSO, THERE IS NO CHOICE OF SUBJECTS, MEANING ON MY LAST TV ALSO A SONY I HAD DIFFERENT CATEGORIES TO CHOOSE... MEANING SPORTS , ENTERTAINMENT, RADIO, DRAMA ,CHILDRENS ETC NOW I HAVE TO TROLL THROUGH EACH CHANNEL INDIVIDUALLY TO FIND WHAT I WANT & THAT IS WHERE U NEED PATIENCE WITH THE REMOTE.. LOVE THE U TUBE NEXT TV I WILL LOOK FOR THOSE FEATURES THAT I MISS FROM THE OTHER SONY OTHER THAN THIS IT IS A GOOD TV....SO FAR

Have now had the TV for almost 2 weeks and am very happy with it. So easy to set up and use, took only a few minutes following the prompts. It has a solid remote control. The picture quality is excellent, one of the main reasons I went back to Sony. The sound isn't bad either as with most new TV's the sounds is pretty poor without upgrading to a sound bar. I think at the price it is excellent value for money. If you just want a TV you don't need a Sony, however with good cables and clean mains you will get an amazing picture for the price. It might not have enough ports for some people with lots of gadgets to plug in may be a criticism, but not for me.

I bought the TV about a month ago and so far, the picture is great and the sound really good. I bought this model because it has Freeview Play, which I have on another TV I bought, but a different manufacture. The Freeview Play In my new TV is accessed in a different way and not as simple as the feature in my older TV. While watching a programme on catch-up, one day it kept stalling. There was nothing wrong with my internet connection as I was able to access the same TV programme on my old TV when this happened. So I had to re-install the Wi-fi in the TV. I am hoping that this is not going to be a regular occurrence. Time will tell.

The TV performance is very good in the range of features I have used so far but more HDMI inputs would have been useful - even my previous 11 year old Sony TV had 4!The user manual makes no reference to the ability to record programmes directly from the TV Guide, a very simple process found only by chance.I also found it necessary to ensure that equipment attached to HDMI ports required them to provide an output signal before selecting the relevant HDMI input on the TV otherwise no audio. However I don't know if this is due to the TV or my added equipment. Only minor niggles but perhaps worth some attention.

Note to Sony (and many other suppliers); you should not expect a realistic review within a week of receipt - it takes time to assess a new product. I have now had the TV for a full year now, so it has had time to settle. In that time it has been faultless. It was simple to set up internet access using the built-in WiFi, and I found the ability to record to a USB memory stick very useful indeed. The picture is good and the sound adequate. I am pleased with the inclusion of a headphone socket, but found its rear positioning fiddly; would have preferred front access. Overall, I am very happy with this TV.

Product arrived well packaged and the contents were intact. Mounting onto stand was simple and instructions for wiring up a system were very clear. Installation of TV and features was fairly straightforward but prior familiarity with WiFi connections would be useful. Set-up to HDMI devices was not immediately clear. After about an hour of trial and error, I had all the TV functions working (I think). This TV looks impressive and has many excellent features. I expect to be able to understand and use the features eventually. I would probably pay for an installer next time.

Really great picture and the sound is so good that a soundbar isn't required to hear shows when they have on background music. I was impressed with the connectivity available through the included wi-fi and it is very easy to operate - my wife says so. Even though it isn't QLED the representation of black is pretty good. I am very pleased with this product and would not hesitate in recommending a viewing. We didn't want a huge television nor with with every conceivable option, just a good, solid, easy to use tv with a great picture and that is what we got.
