First off, I love this TV. The picture and sound quality are superb - as one would expect in this price bracket - and the unit is equipped with a plethora of input and output choices, including a headphone jack, which I wasn’t sure about until the TV was delivered, but which I can’t live without. (Gloriously, it also has a menu option to specifically select whether to use TV speaker/Headphones Only/Both, and separate master volume controls for each. No more having to get out of bed to plug or unplug headphones! But I'm getting ahead of myself. We must begin with the unboxing and initial assembly, which is frankly infuriating - if you attempt to follow the instructions! There is a user manual, which contains the standard page after page of warnings and cautions, followed by the standard vague, poorly worded, sloppily illustrated guide to using the product. This I always ignore. But additionally, there is a separate fold-out sheet with un-worded, appallingly useless, criminally confusing illustrations about how to assemble the stand. Now, under normal circumstances I would simply ignore this and use my own logic and common sense. But this is a £600 piece of equipment. It's big and heavy, and there was a strongly worded caution included in the literature suggesting that very bad things would definitely happen (possibly including being renditioned to a secret location and waterboarded), if I didn't follow these illustrations to the letter. So, I spent two hours - yes, TWO HOURS - sweating, grunting, swearing, and crying, attempting to follow the worst diagrams ever created. In the end I gave up and used the logic and common sense I should have applied from the start. And it's a doddle. Seriously simple. No need for instructions at all. I may end up with electrodes on my testicles for this, but I shall now pass on to you, dear reader, the benefit of my acquired wisdom and experience:1) There are two feet, each comprising a foot and a bracket. Screw the feet to the brackets FIRST, using the fatter screws with the chunky washers. Each foot and each bracket is numbered either (1) or (2), so you have to make sure you match the correct ones. Use your common sense to line them up correctly, sliding the knobbly sticky-out bit into its slot until it finds a purchase. If when you've tightened the screws the two parts wobble, it means you put the screws in from the wrong side. Take them out and put them in from the other side.2) With the TV upside-down, slide the brackets into the slots on the underside of the TV. Make sure the long part of each foot is facing towards the front of the TV. (The brackets only slide into the correct slot, so if it won't go in, use the other bracket).3) Use the smaller, thinner screws to fix the brackets into their slots by screwing them into the holes in the back of the TV.Job done! Now you get to plug it in and enjoy the most fabulous picture quality and audio. The TV will automatically take you through each step of its setup, so make sure you have the remote standing by, and any other devices plugged-in to the TV. Have your wireless key ready too, so you don't have to run downstairs to get it, and trip over your slippers in the hall, banging your nose against the doorframe and scaring the cat. It happens. The TV has menus for every possible need, and the remote has buttons which also anticipate most situations. The buttons on the remote are quite low-profile and squashy, which makes it harder to operate it by touch in the dark - as I always tend to do. Also, there is a considerable delay between pressing a button and the TV responding, even with brand new batteries. When typing in long email addresses and passwords this can be particularly frustrating, and you must be patient to avoid mistakes. Press key. Wait for response. Press next key. Wait. Etc...But that is a minor frustration. Overall, this is a pretty much perfect TV - at least by my standards. I would have docked it a star due to my initial misery setting up the feet, but in the final analysis I concluded that one sheet of badly illustrated paper weighed against a £600 smart TV that I was lucky enough to be given for free is ultimately not worth whining about. It's a gorgeous TV. It stands solidly and sturdily upon its feet – finally - and it does everything I could want, and more. I did dock a star from the remote though, because that delay is quite bad.Recommended.

The TV is black in all areas from the screen, bezel to the stand, which on first impressions looks stark but this does add to its appeal when it is sitting in your living room and soon becomes a feature of this great TV. It took me a few days to set the TV to my requirements and this is an area that I feel Panasonic need to improve as it becomes very frustrating working your way through the vast menu to adjust something or fined out what some other setting will do without a guide book to hand, although you can access a help guide from the handset. IMAGE QUALITY - the picture is stunning with vibrant colours and very deep blacks coming through strongly. The GX700B has the new HDR10+ format included which to be honest I had never heard of. Subsequently I have discovered that it is the current standard for High Dynamic Range in consumer TVs. It makes pictures more vibrant with a larger Dynamic range ,i.e. brighter whites and darker blacks. The TV does not disappoint in this area at all.. AUDIO QUALITY - is adequate but I needed to dive into the menu to calibrate the TV to my personal requirement which can be problematic. With TVs being so slim now the trade off is the quality of the sound from the speakers. this was an area I had the most issues with and I eventually settled on a custom setting which is adequate for my requirements although you could add satellite speakers if you wish. APPS - in general are non specific and mostly not relevant to the UK. Best to use the Freeview function for any APPs. I also connected the TV to the internet via an Ethernet cable which gave me full internet access which is very useful. In conclusion, this is a great mid point TV which will not disappoint in its picture quality but needs some work to get it right. I was given the TV by Panasonic to review as part of the Panasonic review Program.

Fantastic Panasonic quality and picture-quality. It really is pin-sharp 4k/UHD - Sky, PS4 etc also look terrific. Dedicated gaming mode available for the screen. No comment on Sound quality as we use a Sonos sound-bar. Upgraded from 40" to 50" Panasonic TV, and the wall-mounting brackets were same size and shape which meant a 2-minute job to remove from old TV and install on this one. This consistency very much appreciated. The only flaw is the menu and software. Unlike all our other Panasonic TVs at home, this one is laggy and buggy on the menu. Software version has updated from 0.07 to 0.3x since within 3months we've owned-it, suggesting wider problems. This manifests in unusual ways - TV not coming back after retuning; TV stuck in software download mode overnight; TV mode switch being stuck with just one mode - Amazon (!); being unable to view and then to exit Netflix; Losing Youtube log-in settings; I get that as TVs become more complex, but this is a rare fail from Panasonic, much more like a Sony with long start-up times and irresponsive to buttons. Seems to have settled-down now. The other major flaw with software - apart from buggy and slow - is the lack of functionality. You can't even change the menu-titles, so you're stuck with 'HDMI 1, 2' etc as channels instead of renaming Sky, or Apple TV as we did with the previous 40" Panasonic. This is a real disappointment with what we thought was a high - 700 - rating TV. If it has been a 100, then fair enough. But 700 is no longer a high model version. I note the 800 is available with better functionality - such as bluetooth streaming, and the ability to rename channels (!). With hindisght, I would have bought the higher model version in the hope it would be faster and allow better customisation.

THe TV is a really attractive unit. I purchased a stand mount to raise it up, and have a Sonos Beam underneath for sound. (The actual TV sound is poor, but I find all flat panels are!).The unit is attractive and the screen is thin but feels sturdy. In terms of the setup, it was easy to get working out of the box and the networking and general setup was excellent. DO beware SONOS customers - for the HDMI ARC to work you need to turn on 'CEC' in one of the sub-menus - this used to be VIERA LINK, and then there is a toggle to turn the (infuriatingly already identified) attached Beam 'on' so sound goes through it.The only disappointment (initial it must be said) is the default picture settings.I am running a 4K Apple TV through this with various streaming services and, whichever picture default I chose, the images either looked washed out and devoid of colour, or the lips / cheeks were BRIGHT red and the skin a ghostly translucent white; it was really difficult to get the settings right as there are just so many! Frankly, I don't see in this day and age that we need all those settings - Apple / MS with their ultra high res screens allow you to tinker with the basics (brightness, contrast) but after that they just present vivid, clear, and perfectly contrasting images without all this messing about; this was a really unnecessary waste of hours over many days to get it looking passable. I am sure purists out there will disagree, but frankly, for someone that understands (and who's eyes are capable of processing that level of detail on each frame) all those settings in detail, you are 1 in 10000 people. For the other 9999 it would be good if this could just be standardised or just actually work out of the box.

This arrived today (11/8/'19). So it's early days. We might choose to use it to replace our former main TV, which is also a Panasonic, but an older slightly larger one (42" as opposed to this 40" model). We like that this is a lot less bulky than that other TV, the screen going right to the edge of the unit. So although our former TV was much larger overall, it had an only slightly larger viewing area. The upshot is a viewing area very like before, but a less intrusively bulky TV unit, which no longer dominates our lounge. So far image quality - in particular pixelation/sharpness - aspect ratio and colour balance, etc, are quite variable, depending on what we're watching. It also took me a while to work out inputs/channels and the like. Our former TV had three scart inputs, of which we used two. This has none, so I needed to sort out some HDMI cables, and suchlike. On some programs or formats I thought the image quality was pretty poor. But on others it's quite sharp. And on some stuff it's exceedingly sharp.I'm hoping that with more experience we'll learn to get the best out of this. But at present we're hanging on to the older set just in case, as that had a superb picture quality. So, not (yet?) totally blown away with this TV. But hoping it'll prove itself good enough to replaced the former unit. Time will tell I guess. So, it's four stars for now. And I'll be back to amend this review if need be, as we get more used to it.------First update (22/8/'19): as yet unable to connect our PS1 console successfully. For this reason alone we've reverted to the older Panasonic 42" screen, and move this newer LED TV to our bedroom.

I was given this product by Panasonic as part of the Panasonic Reviewer programme. Out of the box this TV is very straightforward to put together (attaching the legs requires a two person lift), and offers great connectivity with 3 HDMI ports, 2 USB, the usual AV connectors and an Ethernet port for getting online. The TV looks great, a very slim and sleek design. It is all black with a very minimal frame around the edge of the screen, about 5mm on the top and sides, 15mm on the bottom, and two thin legs. The first time you turn it on the TV runs through an initial set-up wizard that quickly gets all the main features up and running and along with all the freeview channels,I had no trouble linking my Netflix and Amazon Prime accounts over WiFi. I have streamed a 4K UHD program over WiFi through Amazon Prime and the picture quality was superb. Clear crisp images, deep blacks and vibrant colours. The sound quality was good and delving a little into the menu options revealed various set-up profiles such as 'stadium' for added punch, or 'speech' which helps to even out the volume between loud action scenes and quieter moments of talking, particularly useful for watching in the evening when the kids have gone to bed. There are also custom options available. Streaming straight to the TV over WiFi instead of having to go through other devices makes viewing streaming services so much quicker and easier to use, rather than faffing with multiple controllers and additional devices cluttering under the TV and it works really well. The TV also has an impressive A+ energy efficiency rating.

This Panasonic TV is the same size as the previous model I have which is 3 years old now, and that was good and chosen on that basis but obviously things move on, and this latest model is superb. The amount of pixels are double and previously I never was sure I could tell the difference between regular and HD version of channels, and of HD films whether they were clearer/ more realistic. So now I can see the difference clearly and want to bother switching to the HD version of channels as it's well worth it.The sound is bassier and louder, so I need less volume for the channels. On that point, we have Freesat which has a Humax box and the default sound digital out option was set to multi channel sound where offered by a channel, but we don't have multi channel sound at the moment, and the previous model didn't seem to move volume level at all whereas this does, so you may need to select stereo rather than multi channel for this option where you are in the same boat.I noticed this fits on the wall bracket exactly where the previous one did, with less than a cm difference all round. The bracket we have is Duronic TV Bracket TVB123M if that helps.I found the left side fitting for HDMI meant the cable jutted out a fair bit so used an alternative one sites at the back resulting in the cables all coming down at bottom left except the power cable which we will route to this site.I can't imagine a TV giving better performance.

At this mid price level this is an excellent TV. I found it very easy to set up, use and navigate even without the supply of a printed manual. Freeview HD material is clear and vibrant across all of the HD channels. The SD channels are noticeably poorer but this is to be expected. There was a greyness to the blacks on most pictures but hopefully this could be improved with either calibration or a software update. 4k and HDR content were excellent on YouTube and Netflix. 4k content played from a USB memory device was also superb. The TV can record to an external HDD and these recordings can be scheduled. It should be noted that the set only has one tuner.Sound is reasonable but of course is vastly improved by the connection of an external amplifier and speakers or a sound bar. I connected the TV to the internet via an Ethernet cable. The TV Smart functions worked well with my relatively slow speed (9MB) internet connection. I found the Freeview Play functions all worked well. This set is ideal for the normal user who requires a plug and play experience with their TV viewing. I was given the TV by Panasonic to review as part of the Panasonic review Program.

Really enjoyed the picture quality and sharpness of HD whilst streaming a movie. The TV really delivered a high quality image making the viewing experience cinematic. We also connected a PS4 and played a selection of games. The gaming experience was something else, the picture was spot on and the adaption to gaming we felt was a great feature. The slimline design is great for space saving and looks sleek. Having Freeview and Netflix built in is a huge pro, it definitely saves having extra boxes hanging around the living room. We were really impressed with how easy it was to assemble, despite slightly confusing instructions. I was particularly impressed with the A+ energy efficiency rating. We're generally a very eco-friendly couple and this is great for usage. I was given this product by Panasonic to review as part of the Panasonic Reviewer programme.

Netflix app needs attention but Panasonic haven't got the faintest idea how to fix it. I have had the set replaced and it has exactly the same problem. When searching through the films or watching one the picture will reduce in size and then it's a pig to get back to normal screen. It's the only app with a problem. The answer to this is to buy an Amazon Fire stick. Problem solved. Perfection. Come on Panasonic get your act together and sort this out. Update : Screen often has a red or green tint and the only way to cure it is to restart the tv. Panasonic used to be the best, now there the worst. A few years ago I bought two Panasonic blu-ray players two hundred miles apart and they both had tee same fault. In a few weeks I`m getting a Sony tv so goodbye Panasonic rubbish. Quality has plummeted since there not made in Japan.

Purchsed to replace my ageing LG Plasma TV, the panasonic produces absolutly stunning picture quality if the broadcast source is available , on full HD 1080 wonderfull and on 4k source remarkable. however i am unfairly rating overall as 4 star as standard tv 576/50 is blured sort of out of focus effect, not as clear as my old TV by a long way, i fully understand that you cannot get HD quality on low grade signal, but the actual performance on drama channel / yesterday/ itv3 etc via Antenna is much lower than my expectation. BBC1,2 and ITV 1 HD via antenna picture quality is wondefull, maybe a more expensive tv would have a better image processor to upscale standard non HD content?as a result i am waching more interned based tv and enjoying the superb quality the set is capable of.

Well unfortunately when the set was only 3 weeks old my wife tried to move it on the glass top tv cabinet the feet of the set stuck hitch caused her too lose control and the set collided with a herd object top right hand corner this damaged the screen from the rear and although thrpe front glass isn't broken there is a wedge shape 6x4 inch black arracon the screen as its watched, I understand the screen would cost almost as much to replace than the cost of a new set so it will remain as it, I'm afraid any suggestions or offers to assist would be appreciated we are big Panasonic users in m family I still have a Plasma TX 46, moveie camersa etc

Upgrade from 55" 3D Pan.TV - dubious in purchase due to indifferent reviews on the net, but glad I did ! Great picture via Sky Q, Blu Ray and 4K videos on YouTube, Apps poor but glad Panasonic stuck to invest in the TV/panel rather than 3rd party apps. Good that Pan. keep feet/stands to the centre of the Panel, saves upgrading furniture if not hanging on a wall. Only change would that the on/off switch on the back of the panel shuts the power completely, rather than standby, unlike my previous Pan. TVs. Great Picture, great value, thanks.

Bought a new Panasonic 40" about 18 months ago with a bar foot that ran most of the length of the tv. This was ideal for the stand we have. Lovely tv easy to assemble and controls easy to play, good picture. Then last autumn bought another Panasonic 40". Same, other than it has now two separate feet. Would not fit onto the shelf the old Samsung did as one foot hung over the edge. Had to swap tv for the one with a bar so it would fit onto the shelf. Only a small thing but did it really need a stand change?

6.8.2019

All screen TV with slim top half and the sleek LED panel which gives glass on frame look.It comes with 3HDMI, 2USB,1optical,LAN,AV slots and Bluetooth which are plenty.OS is very responsive, less cluttered.Tested 4K/HDR content with Netflix and thoroughly enjoyed the bolder and deeper contrasts and the superior refresh rate/s. Adaptive backlight dimming particularly my favourite.Has all the prime apps.Sound output could have been better. All in all great smart TV that can bridge LCD and OLED space
