IntroThe blue blur aka Sonic the hedgehog - Platform king of the early 1990's gaming world whose games took a turn for the worse in the mid-90's and continued on a downward spiral for the rest of the next decade. While once Sonic stood level with Mario representing the best of the genre, in recent years his games had become a bad joke. Who would have thought that after 13 years of failed attempts Sonic Team would finally get it right. That's exactly what Sonic Colours does and it's a joy to behold. But before I tell you why, let's have a quick review of the major games that followed the Megadrive era greats of Sonic, Sonic 2, Sonic CD, Sonic 3 & S&K-Sonic R (1997)Saturn-Misguided attempt at a racing game featuring horrible controls, clunky pixilated graphics & uninspired level design.Sonic Adventure 1&2 (1998, 2001) DC-Sonic's big comeback & his first true 3D platform game arrived in Sonic Adventure on SEGA's new Dreamcast console. For SA, Sonic's character design was updated with longer quills, a slimmer physique and green eyes. Today the SA games are fondly remembered and while some of the levels were genuinely well designed (Speed Highway- SA & City Escape- SA2) the games were cursed with a number of faults and as a result ultimately sucked. Primary among these faults were terrible controls (just try keeping Sonic in the middle of a track during banked turns), an even worse camera that often would not even allow the player see Sonic, plus an abundance of arduous Mech levels in the even worse SA2. The only people who recall these games fondly are those who originally played them as children.Sonic Heroes (2004) Xbox, PS2, GC-Sonic's first multi platform title after the end of SEGA as a console manufacturer in 2001. Here Sonic, Tails & Knuckles work as a unit tethered together as they run through levels with the player switching between one of the mammals (each of whom sports a special ability) to lead the group depending on what obstacle lies ahead. It Might have sounded cool on paper but in game the sense of freedom Sonic games of the past evoked was lost as you were constantly tied to two other characters. Worse than this many levels were re-hashes from previous games- Seaside Hill- Green Hill Zone (S1), Casino Park- Casino Night Zone (S2), Frog Forrest- Green Forrest (SA2) etc... An improvement over the Adventure games as the camera and controls were slightly better but ultimately another soulless experience bereft of any of the great gameplay, music or level design of the Megadrive games.Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) 360, PS3-By this point I had given up on Sonic and passed on picking this one up. Once the reviews came out, boy was I glad. Sonic's 15th anniversary game got universally panned by the gaming press and is today recognized as the worst entry of the series.Sonic Unleashed (2008) 360, PS3-Running on Sonic Team's `Hedgehog engine' not only did this game look beautiful, but Sonic's controls actually felt pretty good. Beefing up his move set to include `boost' & `quick step' made Sonic feel more rounded, but most importantly the left analogue stick now accurately controlled his directional movement at high speed. At long last it would seem they had nailed Modern Sonic's gameplay. Unfortunately the thrilling high speed Sonic levels only represented one third of the game, with the other two thirds taken up with the painful hack and slash levels of the `Werehog' (don't ask) and an abundance of soul destroying RPG-light hub worlds were the player must hunt down a series of medals in order to play the main acts. WTF?!ReviewThat brings us to Sonic Colours. For this game Sonic Team listened to feedback and built a game tailored to the fans, the result? The best game since S&K in 1994 and a game that can stand side by side with the Megadrive series in terms of quality. While the enjoyable daytime levels of Sonic Unleashed were based on real world locations, this aspect meant such stages did not convey the same sense of surreal wonder that the classic games provided. For Sonic Colours the levels are rooted firmly in fantasy once more and all the better for it.In `Sweet Mountain' Sonic races through a world of giant hamburgers, candy canes, lollipops & gingerbread men. This type of sweet themed world recalls Willy Wonka's factory and has been seen in games before, but never realised as well as this. `Planet Wisp' juxtaposes the serenity of white cliffs and green hills with ominous rust hued industrial structures stretching into the sky. Act 4 being a particular highlight - its great level design & vertical progression recalling the best levels of Super Mario Sunshine. Another standout world is `Aquarium Park' - an oriental themed water park with tunnel sections that evoke memories of Scud Race. Here Sonic can travel underwater Megadrive style as he gulps air bubbles to stay alive and fights off overgrown versions of classic badniks such as Chopper, or Crabmeat on land.Sonic Colours is FUN!, controls well, features stunning worlds that capture ones imagination, no camera problems, beautiful graphics, awesome music throughout, expansive platforming areas, switches seamlessly from 3D to 2D sections, Sonic is the only playable character, no RPG levels, no annoying side missions, fun boss battles with a gradual learning curve, amazing final boss fight, a new set of power-ups which allow Sonic to change form and access different parts of the level, multiple routes, great replay value, awesomely designed menus and the voice acting / cut scenes are not even annoying! Instead they're almost charming. The only way I could fault this game is to say that Sonic's jump feels a little floaty, but that's just Modern Sonic and he has felt like this since the re-design in 1998. Without question this is the best 3D Sonic game to date and one that can stand side by side with the Mario Galaxies & Little Big Planet's as the cream of this generations platform games. Welcome back Sonic! 10/10.

Let's face it: 3D Sonic games haven't been good since Sonic Adventure way back in 1999. The wait for a good 3D Sonic game seemed to last forever, and many thought we'd never see another. But now, that time has finally come, with the AMAZING Sonic Colours! This is THE Sonic game you've been waiting patiently for!I'll keep this review short and sweet.Plot: Sonic's long time arch-nemesis, Dr. Eggman, has set up an amusement park in interstellar space, which he claims is to show his remorse for his evil deeds in the past. But all is not as it seems, as the amusement park is really just a front to gain control of these little aliens called "wisps", and utilise their unique powers and abilities to take over the Universe. It's a simple and fun plot, which doesn't take itself too seriously like previous Sonic games, and I like that.Gameplay: Sonic Colours gameplay is extremely fun and addictive, with perfect tight controls and brilliantly designed levels with wonderful gameplay dynamics. You can utilise the wisp powers to get different temporary abilities, and this never feels "gimmicky", it just adds more fun to the gameplay, and also allows you to access different routes to reach the end goal, meaning you can complete a stage faster or find more rings and red coins (which you can collect to access stages in the "Sonic Simulator" mode. Sonic is overall very fast, but never feels out of control, and the great thing about Sonic Colours is that it has momentum, unlike previous 3D Sonic titles (although you can get temporary boosts from wisps which makes him run faster). There are some difficult parts later in the game that you may find frustrating, but to be honest, it doesn't take away from the fun of the game. Also, there are plenty of stages that play almost entirely from a side view (2D view), and this is incorporated beautifully into the game as it changes between 3D and 2D views with beautiful fluency. This plays just like a classic Sonic game, and both the 3D and 2D sections are polished to perfection, never feeling awkward even for a moment. The camera is also perfect in this game, there are no faults with it whatsoever. One thing that must be noted is the game is quite short. Short and sweet, but it's something that can't be overlooked. However, the replay value makes up for this, as you'll find yourself exploring alternative, quicker routes in the levels in an attempt to better your score, as well as collecting all the red coins.Visuals: Sonic Colours looks simply AMAZING. The graphics, the incredibly detailed and beautiful levels, the animation... everything just looks fantastic.Voice-acting: One problem Sonic games in the past have always had is the terrible voice acting. Well not anymore. Sonic doesn't sound annoying at all, in fact, none of the characters do, and some of the cut-scenes with Dr. Eggman are hilarious. It's actually so good, I'd say it has the potential to be a movie... but I'll say no more on that...Music: The music in Sonic Colours feels just "right" for a Sonic game. Whilst not quite as incredible as the likes of Super Mario Galaxy, it's pleasant and it fits. Most importantly, it doesn't sound cheesy or lame. The only downside is the game's intro and credits songs, which I hate. The game would have been better off without those, but the in-game music is fun and fitting.Closing comments: You'd be a fool to overlook this game. This is the most fresh, original and fun Sonic game since the days of the Dreamcast. This is THE Sonic game that undoubtedly proves Sonic still has it, and the franchise is FAR from dead, as some people might have you believe. This is a perfect example of a Sonic game done right. Don't be thinking it's too "childish" looking either - I'm a grown adult and I've been playing Sonic games since the Mega Drive days. If you can stand the annoying intro and some of the fairly cheesy in-game jokes (although Eggman is funny in this), then you'll love this game. It's a little short, but trust me, you'll be playing it long after you've completed the main story and unlocked all the levels. Go get it.Overall score: 9.1/10

Ok, i'll start by saying that this is a great Sonic game, and its alot better than the preveus game Sonic Unleashed. The gamplay is great and easy to get used to, you can choose to play the game with just the Wii remote like in Sonic and the Secret Rings, use the Wii remote and Nunchuck, or use a classic controller. However I would'nt say the story is the best of all Sonic games, but its resonable. If you want play a Sonic game that has an excellent story then play Sonic The Hedgehog on Xbox 360 or PS3 becuase the story for that sonic game is the best of all time. But anyway, on both Wii and DS versions of this game are slightky different. Such as some levels are different along with a few of the wisps-alien-abileties.The music for both versions are pretty much the same but atleast you have something to hum to while playing. So ask me this qustion; why only four stars? Well I'm happy to tell you that Sega have changed the voice actors. We now have Rogger Craig Smith now voicing Sonic. For people who don't recognize the name Rogger Craig Smith is, he dose the voice for Chris Redfield in Resident Evil, Shinji in Bleach and Deidara in Naruto Shippuden. Don't get me wrong he's a good voice actor but his voice dosen't relly go well with Sonic.Tails voice actor is now Kate Higgins, who is another good voice actor who dose the voice of Sakura Haruno in Naruto and Naruto Shippuden and Talho in Eureka Seven. This dosn't relly bother me becuase I found Tails Previeus voice kind of annoying and high piched.Ok, now this is were it all starts going downhill. In the DS version of Sonic Colours you get to hear the other new Sonic voice actors do little bits of their voices for the characters. Now I don't like the fact that Sonics voice has been changed, I don't mind Tails new voice. But I can't stand the fact that they've changed Shadows voice actor, which is now Kisame in Naruto and Naruto Shippuden. Shadows prevous voice was great but now I can't see Shadow being a cool character anymore.Amys voice is now changed to Cindy Robinson who voices Zola in Blue Dragon, now whats wrong with her you ask? well I'll tell you that when hear her voice you will go 'My ears!'.Knuckles voice has been changed from the great Dan Green who voices Yu Gi and Yami Yu Gi in Yu-Gi-Oh! to Travis Willingham who voices Roy Mustang in Fullmetal Alchemist and Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. He is another great voice actor and dose a good job at doing Knuckles. Now I don't see why they changed Blaze's voice actor, but they have who is now Laura Bailey who voices Kid Trunks in DragonBall Z.Ok, I liked Silver when he first apired in Sonic the Hedgehog, but now I like him even more with Quinton Flynn now voicing him who voices Axel in the Kingdom Hearts games 'Got it Memorized'.Rouge has been changed to Karen Strassman who voices Soifon in Bleach, but I don't like the change there.I don't mind Crems voice changed to Michelle Ruff who voices Rukia in Bleach.Samething goes for Big, Espio, Charmy and Vector. I don't mind them. And now we come to Omega who is now voiced by Vic Mignogna who does Edward Elric in Fullmetal Alchemist and Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. He's a great voice actor but you can't relly tell it's him when he dose omega.Anyway I would have to say they change Sonic, Shadow, Amy, Rouge and Blaze's voices back to the preveus ones because they're not as good.If you want to hear more from the new voice actors then try out Sonic Free Riders on Xbox 360 Kinect.

We all know the story of Sonic the Hedgehog. Introduced by Sega in the early 90's as a counter to Nintendo's Mario, the blue blur wowed audiences young and old with his exhilarating speed, great gameplay and inventive level design.I know it's custom for people to think the old Sonic games were great and the new ones suck, and whilst I do find enjoyment in some of the newer games, they DO have some problems. Unleashed suffered from too much Werehog. Heroes was often too buggy and the team gimmick just felt forced. Sonic 06...well the less said the better. Even Sonic Adventure 2, a game most fans love, was bogged down by too much emphasis on other characters and appalling treasure hunt levels. So after over ten years and several attempts, have Sega finally created a game truly worthy of the Sonic name? Why yes, yes they have.In my opinion, this is the best Sonic game since the original Sonic Adventure on the Dreamcast. Even then, this game fixes some problems that game had (though there are problems in this game not present in Adventure). The first of these is the fact this is a Sonic game, and so you PLAY AS SONIC. No Knuckles, no Shadow, no Amy, no...Big the Cat. Tails makes an appearance, but only as part of the story and not a playable character. This is a huge improvement, as the emphasis is on Sonic blitzing through levels at top speed, and not worrying about finding Emerald shards, blowing up robots or using psychic powers (shudder). This isn't the first Sonic game recently to only have Sonic as a playable character though. That was also the case in Secret Rings and Unleashed (kind of). He was also the main focus in Black Knight with the other characters playing mainly the same just with minor roles. Those games however suffered from other problems, be it a poor gimmick, awkward gameplay or unfair traps and difficulty. Sonic Colours, on the whole, provides no such problems. There are a couple of instances where you may get frustrated, but that will mostly come down to you sucking, as the difficulty is fair yet poses a challenge, whilst the gameplay is tight and lots of fun.The special gimmick for this game is the Wisps. These basically give Sonic super powers such as a laser, drill, rocket, and FRENZYYYYYYYYY, among others. These are a great addition to the game because they add an extra dimension to the experience, but not to the extent where it ruins the experience. The Wisps are used sporadically and only to add to the gameplay, not change it. Think of them as the equivalent to the fire flower or cloud suit in Mario games. They're not an integral, major part of the game like the Werehog or the sword from Black Knight, and the focus is still on Sonic and the speed. The plot is simplistic and basic, which is all it needs to be really. After the ridiculousness of 06 it's nice to see Sonic games reverting back to a more light hearted, fun tone. The dialogue is beyond cheesy, sometimes unbearably so, but give me that over Shadow worrying about his penis size any day of the week.Overall, Sonic Colours is the Sonic game that fans have been waiting for, and the game the Sega mascot deserves. It isn't perfect; double jumping can be awkward at times and it still suffers from some occasional fiendish traps, but it's as good as anyone could expect. I don't think a lot of Sonic games are as bad as people make them out to be, but there's no doubt surely we can all agree, this is the best Sonic game for quite a while.

Well, Sega finally did it. Sonic Colours is hands down Sega's best Sonic game in 16 years. This game takes what worked in Sonic Unleashed, and makes it even better. Plenty of 2D platforming and high speed 3D sections along with new power ups make this the best 3D Sonic game of all time. The story goes is that Dr. Eggman has created a giant Theme Park in space as a remorse for his past evil deeds over the years. Sonic of course doesn't buy it and heads to the theme park with Tails to investigate. Past 3D games have had more darker plots, but the story is lighthearted this time around with some great comedy and a well written script done by the American writers of Madworld. It's great fun to watch and the comedy is great. It's like watching an episode of a cartoon. The franchise needs lighthearted stories again as they work well for the series. The gameplay is what makes this game a blast. You'll be playing as Sonic throughout the adventure speeding along 6 worlds with 7 acts in each to beat. You'll be playing in 3D areas with plenty of speed to be had, and a lot of 2D sections with lots of platforming. The newest aspect to this game is the aliens called Wisps. They work as power ups giving you different abilities as you unlock them in each world. The level designs are fantastic. The best level designs seen in a 3D Sonic game yet. Each level is a blast to play through. There are plenty of different shortcuts to discover and 5 collectable red rings to find in each level to unlock something special. There are 8 Wisps to use in the game. There's the Cyan Wisp that turns Sonic into a laser to blast at enemies and use shortcuts, the Drill Wisp that turns Sonic into a drill to dig through soft surfaces at high speeds, the rocket wisp that tunes Sonic into a rocket that blasts into the sky and much more. Each one is great fun to use and makes the gameplay even better. There is even Co-Op multiplayer which you can play alone or with a friend. You work together to beat several stages with a retro theme to them. The controls are the best they have ever been in a 3D Sonic game. They feel much tighter than in previous games and you have several different control options to choose from. You feel like your in full control. The graphics are outstanding. This game is very colourful and has great animation in the CG and in game cutscenes. Each area is a sight to behold. This really is one of the best looking Wii games. The soundtrack is outstanding. Probably the best music in the series. Each tune will have you humming along to it. Even the vocal songs are catchy and fit the theme of the game. The Sonic voice cast has now been changed, and the new voice actors are the best the series has had. Roger Craig Smith as Sonic is Sonic's best voice and makes him sound like a dude again, and Kate Higgins as Tails makes him sound the best he's ever been.Sonic Colours takes the best from the 3D and 2D games and brings them together into a brilliant package. Sonic's finally back on form with this game, and what a game this is. Welcome back Sonic the Hedgehog. 10/10

I have been highly dissapointed with the producers of sonic games in recent years and so I dont buy sonic games anymore. That was a great shame to me as I loved the old sonic 2D platform games, but since they started making them 3D I think they have lost the things which capture the fun of the originals. But now along comes Sonic Colours which looked a bit different so I decided why not try it.At first I though oh no this sounds bad when I heard the opening theme music, so I quickly skipped throught it and got into the game. I think there was small cut scene at the beginning, which are actually quite enjoyable to follow throughout the whole game, and then I was running at light speed throught the first level which was great fun.So maybe my initial impression was wrong then I was thinking, but still not feeling convinced from previous experiences with 3D sonic. I quickly blazed through the whole of the first stage which consisted of about 7 acts I think and a boss. It was quite fun, but it wasnt until the world map opens and you can select from another 6 stages that the game really became fun.The first level just gets you used to the game and to be honest you can do with one hand its that easy. But once you get past the difficulty goes way up and the levels are a lot more intersting with the introduction of whisps and good level design. At some points I was thinking what the hell how could kids manage this game as I constantly died due to my own impatience and mistiming. But then I remembered the difficulty of games I used to complete when I was a kid and this is easier than them so kids should be fine if theyve got a bit of patience. The 2D sections are the best which fortunatly consist of a lot of the levels, the 3D sections just add a bit of light relief and feel quite enjoyable due to the blistering speed of sonic. There great fun and can be quite tricky for instance I kept mis timing a jump on a rollercoaster stage and fell to my death a few times. But the 2D sections are where the real challenge is, and the whisps are great fun to use and offer many new ways to complete the level for an even faster time. Also to anyone familiar with the orginal 2D games one great thing I really appreciated is a lot of the old enemies are back which was really nice to see them again from a nostalgic view. Also the music is great except the opening into scene and there are loads of retro stages where you can compete solo or with a friend to get the fastest times.Overall this is a great game and in my opinion the only game which is a proper sequal to the originals. It still has some room for improvement, for instnace some of the 3D sections could be tightened up with the controls, also one criticism is that instead of 7 zones for each level I would prefer the combined some of them into a larger level and have less zones, but I guess thats just a personal view.So in conclusion I think this is the first sonic game in a very a long time that is truly worthy to be a sequal to the origianl sonic games and I would rate it 9.5/10.

Break out the bunting, Sonic is finally back on form. Sega has rediscovered the magic formula of the hedgehog's Golden Age and even added to it.As unbelievable as it is to be saying this in 2010, Sonic Team has nailed it in just about every conceivable way with Colours. First impressions are strong. Yes, there's a grating theme tune to get things going, but it can be skipped. And before you know it, you're speeding through an act. A brilliant act. Then another brilliant act! No tedious hub to walk around, no charmless characters to stop and chat with, we're back to a world map. Instant Sonic. Yes! And then the first cutscene comes. Oh oh. But it's forgivable because (1) it's mainly just Sonic,Tails and Dr Eggman like the Good Old Days, (2) the cutscenes are actually quite decent by Sonic standards and (3) they're skippable. Yes!!There's no getting away from it, Colours is Sonic's answer to Super Mario Galaxy. It looks like Galaxy, the orchestral part of its score sounds like Galaxy and, quite incredibly, it even feels similar to play, with thrilling level design and an uncommon amount of variety and new ideas, complemented by a feelgood factor of immense proportions. Some levels are done in no time at all, some are epic, all are full of secrets, alternate routes and replayability. Taking on Galaxy was a move that had failure written all over it, but one that's ended up with unequivocal success stamped everywhere.Even the controls and camera are up to the task. There's a choice between the Remote held horizontally, Remote/Nunchuck combo, Classic Controller or GameCube controller. I began with the Remote on its own and have felt no need to experiment with anything else since. Crazy, isn't it? After all those miserable Sonic experiences, I'm now controlling him perfectly in 3D with a d-pad. Witchcraft! The action moves seamlessly between 3D and classic 2D sections and it all looks fantastic - and not just by Wii standards. It might be lacking high definition, but I've yet to see a Sonic game on 360 or PS3 that looks better. It's all set on Eggman's 'incredible interstellar amusement park' where levels explode with cosmic detail and, yes, colour. And of course it's lightning quick. If one thing was going to let the side down it would be the introduction of the Wisps, new cute alien creatures that aid Sonic on his journey. A recipe for disaster, absolutely, but the proof is in the pudding and they merely serve to provide Sonic with some Mario-style power-ups that bring new dimensions to the levels, transforming Sonic into a laser, drill and rocket, to name but three. They're arguably the greatest part of the game. What has Sonic Team been drinking and/or smoking?Whether you're from the Mega Drive or Wii eras, Colours is a joyful adventure that delivers the Sonic experience you've been waiting for.

This is sonic's greatest 3d game yet. However, while great, Sonic colours still has some pretty annoying issues that could cause some serious frustration with certain players. First off, I have to mention that the graphics are superb and wouldn't look out of place on a HD console. The game is rather short at maybe 6-8 hours. However, it's 6-8 hours of SONIC. No werehogs, fishing mini games or blowing away aliens with machine guns, just sonic at his speedy best. The music is also incredible with hardly a bad tune in the whole game. Definitely a hundred times better than sonic 4's forgettable soundtrack. The co op mode, while a little broken,is still a good laugh and will at the very least evoke memories of you and a friend playing through sonic 2 for the first time. Now to the bad. While not too serious a problem, the 2d platforming can be very frustrating at times. On certain levels, the camera will zoom out very far to make the path ahead to you clear. However, it also makes the platforming very frustrating. Most jumps will require almost pixel perfect platforming skills to make. And sometimes one mistake means falling to your death. My only other complaint is that while it's still very fast, Sonic colors is probably one of the slowest sonic games ever. There are times when you'll have to wait or activate lifts, make very precise jumps or use the wisps to make it through to the next area. Finally I have to say that I am a big fan of the new wisps. Most are genuinely great fun to use and really make finding the secrets a pleasure rather than a chore. The only power I didnt like was the drill. It's very hard to find secrets underground as the area's are just to large and if you stay under too long, you lose a life. But don't let any of this put you off. Sonic colors is an absolute classic and is almost up there with sonic's very best titles.

The game is, without a doubt, good. Although, it does have some flaws which stop it from being brilliant. (In my eyes, anyway…)Story: I must say, it does lack something…Like a bunch of angles. It is good enough, but it does have a little too much, "SAVE THE ALIENS!!" You can remember that, right? Well, it tells you the WHOLE ENTIRE TIME.Graphics: They are very excellent and very….COLOURFUL. It is probably just something to do with my wii or something though, because mine is a little darker than the actual game that i have seen from other sources…Gameplay: It is brilliant, I must say. The colour powers are well implemented in the game, so even if they become repetitive you feel that it is still a good part of the game. The normal play style for sonic is back, though, so no need to fear if you don't take a big shine to the wisps.Overall: It is a fun experience, if you are looking for a good time I suggest this game…. WAIT! Almost forgot! If you aren't picking it up for a single player experience look elsewhere. The 2-player Co-Op in the Arcade planet is a little stupid in my opinion, as if the fact it wasn't bland it was using Sonic Re-colour for the second as if saying, " You'd like Shadow or another support character which you think is better than sonic? WELL THAT SUCKS FOR YOU!" So keep that in mind if you buy this Masterful-ish piece.

I'll get straight to the point. It's np secret that SEGA have been churning out average/rubbish Sonic games. The closest to decent that they reached was with Sonic and the secret rings (but even that got boring). SA and SA2 were good games but I didn't really want an adventure game.and.. OUT THE BLUE, Sega come up with Sonic Colours... In one word, this game is amazing, in 2, amazing fun! It's most definitely the BEST SONIC GAME made in recent times and one of the best Sonic games made ever:1) The Graphics are beautiful. Even though it is on the Wii, it looks stunning, beautiful, with no slowdown and Beautiful art direction. Seeing is believing.2) Along with the above, the Music is BEAUTIFULLY COMPOSED.It's rare these days for Videogames to have such memorable catchy music. It's like a blast from the golden years of gaming (80-90's for me). I was expecting SEGA to put in usual rocky pop music /bland songs, but what they've produced will blow you away3) The Cutscenes will make you laugh/ or at least smile4) High replayability! This game is highly recommended. Don't take just my word on it. There is a reason why everyone is talking about it, why there is alot of critical acclaim and why its got a HIGH RATING ON METACRITIC! Buy it!

This is just a quick review to help you decide to buy the game or not.Graphics - 10/10 - Your eyes will pop out!! Graphically one of the best games on the wii.Sound - 8/10 - catchy tunes whilst playing but not as memorable as the original or Sonic R.Gameplay 10/10 - Great 2D/3D gameplay similar to the original. Does get tricky half-way through the game so watch out! This is a great return to the old Sonic games and will put a big grin on your face whilst playing it. The game does get difficult from world 4 onwards but luckily when you die you can start that level again which makes it less frustrating. The graphics are amazing and so full of colour! My only gripe is the camera zooms out at times making your character too small.Unless you play on a massive screen or sit near the TV you will have difficulty seeing your character move. On my 28" TV the character is only about 1" tall when it zooms out.The other gripe is some levels are too short. I'm talking of 1.5 minutes to complete 1 level in that world. Some are about 3 minutes but this isn't that long. But overal I love the game and will place it in my top 10 all time Wii games to date.

It is as good as my title says. If Sonic Unleashed managed to get attention for it's day stages than Sonic Colors really nails it, finally. The level design might range from incredibly good to plain bad, but overall it's still pretty good, and at some points you'll just want to stop to admire the beautiful worlds Sonic Team created. It's a fast game about a hedgehog who's fast and for the first time in 9 years the series finally manages to deliver a game that lives up to that. Bounce, spin, homing-attack, grind and boost like you've been wanting to do since Sonic Adventure 2, and to be honest, it does play smiliar to the DC classic, in a certain way.You do not get the same sense of freedom SA 2 gives but at least you get more room to improvise tnan in Sonic Unleashed. The game is divided by many planets, all of which have multiple acts, much for the delight of any Sonic fan.If you own a Wii, and you're a Sonic fan, then get this. Like... now.

Nice to see a game that actually has a lot of longevity to it and so much fun.The gameplay and graphics are excellent and the use of wisps adds to the experience. Very clever stuff I thought. The controls are simple to use just the main controller and not the annoying nunchuck like in Mario (yawn) Galaxy thank goodness. After my son had completed the game I thought that was it only to discover that if he collects all of the red rings in each level he apparently can get 'super sonic' and that some of the levels change. So he is now busy collecting the red rings and thoroughly enjoying the challenge of it once we locate them of course via google lol! Can't fault this game at all and would highly recommend it.This is probably the best game my son has on the Wii.

When I saw this game at E3 last year there were no words but it looked fantastic. I loved it so much I bought it right on the first day of launch and I'm glad about that! The game is amazing because:(a)The levels are brilliant, you control sonic through 6 zones with 7 acts plus the final stage which is 3 acts.(b)the graphics are beautiful, no problems at all.(c)you ONLY control sonic, not like in the past few games which take the other characters into the main game which spoiled it.(d)the plot is lighthearted and the cutscenes are hillarious and skippable!(e)there is a cool retro multiplayer mode which brings bock the good old days of sonic brilliance. In my view, one of the all time great games.

This latest sonic game does not disappoint! From the moment you start the first level, the stunning detail and graphics have you smiling because of how great the levels are! And the music is just breathtaking, seriously! When you get to the 4th world(planet whisp) when the music starts, I get all tingly as its just epic. The plot is good too(wont spoil anything for you!)So if your considering getting this game, DO IT!The reply value is very high too, trying to get all the red coins and secret +1 lives will have you kicking yourself if you miss one, but it just means you get to experience the levels all over again! So get this game, end of.
