The inherent design flaw of the PSP (only having one analogue stick) doesn't make a happy coupling of the hardware and shooters. Most use a two stick set-up by substituting the right hand control to the face buttons, a cumbersome and imprecise method. The SOCOM series bucks this trend however with an intuitive "snap-on" aiming system, mapped to a shoulder button. This gives the player a far smoother feel of movement and control that allows you to concentrate on the game as opposed to constantly fighting the control scheme.This latest installment is a slight departure from the well trod SOCOM formula. During the series heyday on the PS2,the Special Forces unit you control was in constant contact with HQ and received a never relenting stream of objective updates and mission detail. This time however the team is dumped behind enemy lines and cut off from their handler. The team must figure out their mission as they go, and you feel slightly more vulnerable without the continual guidance of HQ to hold your hand through the missions.The graphics are slick and detailed, the character animations smooth and convincing. Ordering your teammates is easily done, and this mechanic plays a big part in how successfully your team operates. New to SOCOM FTB3 is also the ability to purchase upgrades for your weapon load-outs, which allows you to tailor your weapons to a playing style that suits your individual preference.The only negative point would be the multiplayer. SOCOM is regarded highly by MP gamers as being a hardcore entry into online MP. I can't really offer an opinion to this as the game has never worked in this mode for me. I also know that the online servers for the PSP SOCOMs are being taken down (if no so already), but even trying to find a match before the service ceased was nigh on impossible. So if you are thinking of buying this game with strictly Multi-Player in mind, you may want to think again.All in all SOCOM FTB3 is a solid, exciting shooter, with a refreshingly accurate take on PSP shooter control. The campaign is a series of non-stop action encounters and a well presented plot. The MP however should not be considered as a selling point.

After playing this game all I can say is its about time they brought a proper not watered down game to the psp.the other 2 socoms on psp felt watered down and you only had 2 men teams, with this you have a 4 man team which if you've played socom on PS2 then thats what you expect.with four men comes more enemys more action and a much better storyline.I enjoy the custom game where you can earn CE points to buy better guns and speaking of guns theres a big range about 70 in total I think.If you were dissapointed about the rubbish online only Socom Confrontation on the Ps3 as I was then this brings some redemption.the graphics are great for the PSP they remind me more of PS2 graphics than the usualwatered down PSP graphics.the AI although sometimes you'll be trying to go in stealth and your team members are running around like idiots.but theres alot of PS3 games out there with that bad AI so don't be disheartened.Overall this is a great game and a great control scheme much better than the aiming with triangle,circle Etc.if you like the previous socoms on psp or even a fan of shooters I'd recommened this game as its proberbly the best game on psp.

i have a psp go so i downloaded it from the playstation store, and i paid £25.00 for it! ive played it for about 6 months and they turned the online thingy off. So if you want it for the online play don't buy now! PLEASE DON'T BUY!!!!!!!! apart from the online play its brilliant the graphics are good, and altogether pretty good. I would reccomend for the story line but they don't tell you about the online gameplay, it was so fun online! I made really good friends on there! :D Love the game though!!!!!!!!

I Bought PSP Socom 3 Recently and I have to say that the missions and online play are beyond my first expectations. I don't want to bore you about the pro's and con's but the fact that you can join different online lobbies in the game, i.e europe, asia and america and know who you are talking to, chatting on the mic makes this far superior to any other game on the PSP. If you want action and a great online multiplayer, then by all means get this game, you won't regret it!

SOCOM Fireteam Bravo 3.This game has excellent graphics, excellent gameplay and to top it off excellent controls.With a four man squad to control and great level design you feel pulled into the game. There is a auto lock on system when shoting which work perfect for the system which only has one analog stick.Overall a highly recomended game. 5*.

This game is great although as i bought it, it had that stupid error message wiv the numbers 80020148, but that wasnt the game i just had 2 update. overall 5 STARS.
