I bought this because I wanted a pan larger than my 20cm Scanpan Classic that would work equally well for scrambled eggs when I'm cooking for more than two. This square one was at a tempting price, so I took a chance and I'm glad I did.It works nicely for eggs, of course, but the bonus is that it is perfect for sausages. The square shape makes it easy to lay 10 or even 12 bangers out with no space - or heat - wasted, and they cook through beautifully, creating a succulent interior and a brown, sticky skin.The familiar SKK virtues are there too, of course: easy cleaning, nice weight and the option of getting it properly hot if required. This one has a slightly odd and fragile-looking helper handle-cum-hanging loop,and a fixed handle that I prefer to SKK's detachable one.SKK products attract some curious and (I think) ignorant detractors, who - as far as I can tell - mistake burned-on sugars, created at the high temperatures of which the coating is capable, for flakes of coating coming off the pan. My 28cm SKK is 13 years old and has lost a little coating from its edges where they've been bashed, but where this happens it shows little patches of grey metallic aluminium underneath; nothing like this has happened to the cooking surface of that pan or either of my others.So, like any long-term purchase, your SKKs will repay a bit of TLC. But don't mistake this for poor construction or materials; my first SKK is still my go-to pan for searing a steak, and I expect this square one to last just as well.

SKK is a German company which is renowned for making quality cast aluminium cookware albeit at a hefty price. However for the money you will receive something that will outlast you. Is energy efficient , child easy to clean, can be used with metal utensils and is something made in Europe (Germany) as opposed to China.Well I was in the market for a wee frying pan to replace the so called eco-frying pan I had bought so as not to use my huge Woll frying pan (Another premium German make) However after less than a year I realised that its claims to have a high tech superior non-stick coating was simply that.A claim,seeing as how after very little use ,it resembled something salvaged from the Titanic.So imagine my surprise to find a lightweight SKK frying pan for sale on Amazon and not only that but for some strange reason at under half price. In a flash I had clicked `add to basket' and a couple of weeks later I am happy to say I am chuffed to bits with my purchase. I fried a steak tonight, without oil and the pan took me less than a minute to clean afterwards. It is that easy.In fact so impressed have I been with Amazons discounting on this range I've since purchased a wee round frying pan, a sauté pan and a Wok. My friends son is even more impressed, he gets all my old cookware for his new flat.
