I bought one of these because, since having a (botched) emergency appendectomy and a subsequent remedial operation, my core strength has been compromised. This meant that sitting at my desk for long periods caused backache, even though I have a top-of-the-range chair (Aeron Classic). Not wanting to replace the chair (which is still excellent after many years' use), I decided I needed something to help me to keep moving while sitting at my computer. I decided to get the Sitfit Plus as the (frankly) least expensive option.I'm finding the cushion excellent. Not only does it ensure that I can't sit still in one position for hours on end, which is good for the whole body and not just the core, but the backache has gone and my core is getting stronger by the day.The Sitfit is also excellent for a really simple - but highly effective - floor exercise. If you sit on the cushion on the floor and then clasp your arms around your legs, with your legs completely off the floor, and then try to balance believe me, your core will get some exercise! It's really hard to stay balanced and to do so you will have to use all your central muscles and keep moving and tensing. This makes one of the best breaks from sitting ever, and you can feel your back 'clicking' into place again if it's 'out'.Being pneumatic, the Sitfit is obviously made of non-breathable material so you do need to get a cover for it. This makes the Sitfit Plus the best deal. I also like to turn the cushion round periodically, as this too gives an extra dimension to using the cushion and even more relief from sitting for long periods. You might find that other sellers (off Amazon) are cheaper at some times, so it's worth checking prices.(Note: the pump nozzle is concealed in the handle of the pump, which wasn't obvious to me until I contacted the seller - could have been me being dense...)

I like this very much. Suffered from double prolapsed limbar discs L4/L5 since 1986 and so far only heat and massages have been effective against it.After my first session on this cushion I already felt a lot better for a while. I don't use it as often as I should, but I recommend using it as often as possible.Having said that, I do feel it would be better if more useful advice were given with it. For example on the amount it should be inflated. I currently use a "suck it and see" method. It required different inflation amounts on different seats - but sometimes I find that if I haven't inflated it enough it will cause pain in my hips, which can, for me, be immobilising.Which kind of defeats the object.I suppose it could be difficult suggesting how much to fill it without some sort of measuring device - but I think it could be done if the cushion is delivered at a known inflation pressure, and then advice on how many full syringes to pump in, according to body weight, for a hard surface (for example). Maybe this isn't possible - but it's the only complaint I have.I've been recommending it to everyone I know, who has back pain - and to those I see regularly in the orthopaedic profession.

This is a must if you sit a lot or for long periods time. I practice guitar and I also sit at my computer for lengthy amounts of time, and I must admit this is a butt saver! I have tried different sorts cushions but nothing seems work after a while.I was actually starting to look around for a new chair when I saw a YouTube video by Justin Guitar, an online guitar teacher. He has back problems not helped by the fact he sits a lot for his teaching and practicing, and he raved about the Sitfit, so I thought I would give it a go as it would obviously be a cheaper option than a new chair! Well! job done as far as I'm concerned. I love it! it also helps strengthen your lower back core muscles,as you have to control the way you sit, because it's an air cushion as such. Made from a thick kind of rubber?, I would recommend getting a cover for it to avoid sweat issues! This is small and portable if you sit at work and I would say "built to last" I don't usually bother writing reviews, but thought this would be of use to quite a few people. Check it out!

The product is made of quite sturdy rubber. There is a trick to inflating the cushion more than the supplied inflation. Be careful not to over-inflate. You will only need 3-4 extra pumps of air. Start by putting some washing up liquid on the needle (hidden in the little black lid of the pump) squeeze the cushion so that when you push the needle into the bung you are not at risk of puncturing the cushion. Push the needle ALL the way in, if you don't it won't inflate. The Sissel helpline is 0800 567 7664.The cushion is from Sissel, a Swedish company. Made in Germany.Lots of simple flexes to do while sitting to help keep the spine mobile and also work the abdominals.Sitting for too long is not a healthy occupation so if you work at a desk then this is an essential piece of kit. Can also be used as a wobble board.

It is a very durable product. I have used it for five years and it still functions as perfectly as when it was new - not leaking for example. I only changed the cover once (cover sold separately). Does it work to avoid back pain? I think it does because I have not suffered back pain despite spending 12 hours per day seating in front of a computer. What I like with this cushion compared to seating on a large ball, is the fact that nobody will know until the try your chair. Obviously it only helps, and cannot replace regular exercise. I would definitively recommend this product, even to people who do not suffer from back pain to keep exercising the back muscles continuously.

I have fibromyalgia and improving my posture has helped reduce the back and neck pain I am in. This is great for making me aware of my posture and strengthening my muscles. However the classic disc cushion was too much and resulted in cramps, while sitting on the square side for 15m only made my muscles ache a bit.The square-ish side requires less effort to sit straight but still engages the correct muscle groups. I can also do small stretches more easily which aren't obvious if I'm sat at a table. The other nice side effect is that you gain a few inches in height.

very comfortable. i've had serious back pain for 4 months now and unable to sit without pain. but with this it definitely eased the pain whilst sitting , also makes you more aware of your movement, meaning you wiggle and fidget more comfortably, which ultimately means you're more active than sitting without. i still can't sit for extended periods of time, but with this i can at least sit for half an hour or more (whereas previously 5-10mins was agony). if you don't suffer with back pain i suspect it would be very good still

I love it. I have a desk job and was getting lower back and stomach pain - gone since using this. As a bonus, since using it I'm less bloated and everyone keeps asking what I've done to lose so much weight (nothing different apart from using the cushion!) My only word of warning is that it's not very big, I'm a size 8-10 and it just fits my backside. I realise your supposed to balance, but if you're broader through the bottom I'm not sure how comfortable it would be.

I was really excited about getting this cushion but so disappointed when I couldn't use it without purchasing a needle pump separately. A pump is supplied but no connection-very odd, on the plus side the cushion looks great quality but would be excellent if they advised you to buy the needle with it.UPDATE....needle inside handle of pump-its not easy to see because its so cleverly hidden away -I would now give this product 5 plus

Bought to replace a round sissel cushion I lost - this style is much better as its easier to use securely on your chair and stand upright to use against your back if needed. I noticed in the manual they suggest using it as a foot rest which I have tried and its much more comfortable than my traditional wedge shaped metal foot rest from 3M so may buy another soon as a dedicated foot rest.

For a person with back issues and a need to spend many hours at a desk then I normally sit on an exercise ball. The Sitfit is less of a statement in a big office and still allows the lower back to be kept mobile. Very high quality manufacture. I recommend getting a cover because the plastic can be sweaty over long periods, the cover eliminates that.

Bought this to help build up my core strength while sitting and for additional comfort following a bout of back / leg pain. So far so good, but not really had it long enough to comment fully. It is slightly odd to start with, but generally comfortable and you can feel yourself trying to counteract the wobble every time you move. I have high hopes!

After months of pain from an ongoing back problem compounded by hypermobility issues, within one week of using the Sitfit cushion I am more pain-free than I have been in 6 months. Highly recommend for spinal health - allows you to "actively sit" and engage core muscles, as opposed to compounding the spinal discs on a solid chair surface.

My osteo recommended this as I have a problem with my lower back. whilst the leg supports make it uncomfortable, using it the 'correct' way, my solution - turn it round and now it makes sitting much less painful. Great on an office chair or other 'hard' chair but not so good on the sofa. Highly recommend if sitting is uncomfortable

I'm finding this very useful, especially in my car. Long journeys hurt my back and our old car seats give little support. This keeps my back moving just a little bit which is strengthening it and preventing the stiffness that I get. It does take a little getting used to when you are driving but apart from that I would recommend it.
