The method that I received the best results from is as follows: place the Thera-Band on a hard surface then roll the forearm and wrist back and forth, applying pressure when trigger points are detected along the forearm tendon. Once both arms have been deeply massaged, I then perform the Tyler Twist movement. The best results have been achieved by setting my timer for 5 minutes and holding each twist for 30 seconds, therefore completing only 10 repetitions in total. My pass times include weight lifting and martial arts, so I am able to deliver a fair twist and grip compression. The blue heavy version arrived a few days ago and I have found that using a combination of both the red and blue Thera-Bands works best. The red allows for a bigger twist and stretch, whereas the blue requires more grip compression.Other advice I will offer is for body builders to return-to or maintain forearm movements such as wrist curls/ reverse wrist curls and office workers to take regular breaks from the keyboard and stretch hands, fingers and wrists. My elbow tendinitis has all most cleared after 7 days of applying all of the techniques discussed, on a daily basis. In terms of marks out of 5 for the Thera-Band – 4 because out of the dozen or more exercises you can perform, only the Tyler Twist is demonstrated in the instruction guide!

This is a great product for tennis / golfers elbow. Few things to note. Although they're not cheap be careful of buying the correct one. I bought the green one to start with and new immediately that it was too strong for me. So I ended up starting with the red one. Even with the red one I had to work my way up from 2 sets of 5 reps over time - so should probably started with the weaker one. Second thing to note, this hurts and still does after several months but the strength is really starting to come back into my right arm and I can certainly do a lot more. The pain and swelling around the elbow has also almost gone. My experience is that there are no quick wins for this type of injury. Thirdly, rest your injured arm as much as possible. If you have to do stuff then use a support which helps alleviate the strain on your arm. I've basically avoided surfing during the winter (which is killing me) as the pain of getting in and out of a winter wetsuit was horrendous on my tennis elbow. Back cycling now but always use a support. Lastly if you can continue to go and see a physiotherapist / osteopath every now and then I would. Anyway, good luck with this as it's a very frustrating injury.

I recently bought a concert quality classical guitar and have been really getting back into learning (and re-learning!) music I used to play years ago. I have been asked to take part in a concert later this month so had to really get practising, and, of course, developed tennis elbow! My GP admitted that all he could do was offer me anti inflammatories, and advise me to stop playing for some time, neither of which was a viable option. I researched online and discovered a couple of guitar forums where people were recommending the Thera band flexbar as having helped. I thought I'd give it a try and have to say I'm amazed at how much it has helped me!The pain is almost completely gone and I am able to keep up the level of practice with the guitar, with no problems. I thoroughly recommend this as a successful way to treat tennis elbow - its been a Godsend for me!

I was a bit sceptical about this band but it was cheap enough to give it a try and I was very impressed. When I first started using it then my bad elbow was incredibly painful after doing a few stretches with the band. It was hard to believe just how much it hurt, I didn't realise it was that bad. But gradually it started to get better and after a few weeks, I could do it with no pain at all. I hardly notice my elbow now. What is best about it is how easy it to use. I did one stretch with the band (up to 15 times I think) and repeated it several times a day. I keep it by the sofa so I can just do it in the living room. whilst remaining seated. So no complicated stretches to memorise or clothes to change into.Dead easy once you get the hang of twisting it (I watched the video I think when I started).

I got tennis elbow nearly 3 months ago, the only thing I could put it down to was hassle with my wayward hair! Repeatedly twisting hair into a bun most days and the day before injury I had been reaching over sink awkwardly to colour my hair.Since then slow recovery as follows - firstly resting (including getting my husband to put hair in ponytail!), icing and then bought the red flexbar. I had a lot of pain and could hardly use it at first - started with 5 twists daily and slowly used it more now on 15x3 daily. I started doing it with bent arms and am now able to use it with straight arms with little pain.It HAS helped BUT unlike a lot of people it has taken me nearly 3 months to get a slow improvement. My advice is go slowly if in pain and persevere as I do think it helps over time.

Like a lot of other people I have been working out during the strange time we are living through. I have found an area that I couldn't improve with the usual equipment I have was my forearm strength. This rubber bar has now been added to my equipment and I use it each night, along with some rubber 'donuts' whilst watching the tv for about 20 minutes overall (taking a few seconds off here and there). Easy to use, bending and twisting for a number of counts. Like any exercise results are not instantaneous and I expect it may take 6 - 8 weeks using it most nights before I notice a change in the tone of my lower arms. At that point I will move up to the next strength. I am a 57 yr old female, reasonably strong and healthy and I found the red bar ok for me - firm but bendable.

Thanks to Google Chrome and You Tube I am generally happy with the Flexi-Bar to strengthen my forearms but have spent so much valuable time on the Net googling exercises for Tennis elbow not to mention hours trying to translate the booklet which accompanies it. Why is this booklet not available to download in English? However, the pictures in the booklet are quite explicit which makes it useable. It's best to translate the booklet though as it does contain some useful bits of information.Having said that, when I use the bar my wrist and forearm muscles are noticeably being worked so I feel confident that they will soon strengthen. It is recommended to exercise with the bar 3 times a day which is possible as the bar is very portable.

Have been really struggling with painful tennis elbow for some months now. Saw a video on YouTube recommending the TheraBand. After a week of use (painful to start with), it has certainly helped. My forearm does not have so much pain and stiffness and feels stronger when I lift things in an outreached position, e.g. from a high cupboard. Also, as a typist, I don't get the horrible pain down my forearm to the same degree. I still struggle to straighten my arm out fully when doing the exercise, and this can be quite painful, but hopefully that will improve over time. Can recommend this piece of equipment for people with tennis elbow. It does help.

A couple of months back I developed tennis elbow in my left arm. I thought it would just go away on its own but it seemed to be getting worse rather than better. While researching possible exercises to relieve the problem, I stumbled upon articles that mentioned how Thera-Bands had been used with great success.I ordered the band and followed various repetitive exercises that are supposed to relieve the pain. Remarkably, with a couple of days there was a significant reduction in the pain and I found that the range of movement in my arm was improved. In short, it did everything I hoped it would.

I bought the red and green flexband, not knowing which would be the best for me. I had seen them recommended as helping tennis elbow. The red is great for me. On good days I can do the 3x 15 repetitions of the exercise and I feel that it helps my arm. When the tennis elbow is bad I cannot even hold the band slightly twisted. Overall I would recommend it - I think it has helped my tennis elbow and the occasions when I cannot use it are becoming fewer. I shall probably continue using it as general exercise when my arm is fully recovered.

I play squash (poorly). My chronic hyper-flexion of the wrist at high speed led to a carpal-tunnel-like condition. Cortisone injections relieved the symptoms but did not resolve the problem. I used the Thera bar and grips to strengthen and balance my forearm muscles, massage to break down hard tissues, stretching, and night-time immobilization with a splint. In a couple of months, my long-term (1 year plus) injuries had resolved themselves. Not sure if this is correlation or causation, but it certainly didn't hurt.

I have been suffering with lateral epicondylitis (also known as Tennis Elbow) and despite visits to my GP this was not getting any better. I bought this product solely to use with the "Tyler Twist" physiotherapy exercise which I found on the internet and it really works. Watch the youtube video to see how to do the exercise then give it three sets of 15 repetitions each day. As far as I can see this is the only sensible treatment for tennis elbow so to be honest you don't really have a choice!

I have looked at this product for a while as I have suffered with lateral epicondylitis twice this year and have had to have steroid injections.I have checked out lots of different sites and you offer by far the best value for money for the product , I can't get over the cost of the postage too !!! Most other companies were charging £7 ... thank you so much , I'm very impressed with the product , the low cost and speed of delivery . I will definitely be recommending you to friends and family

Bought for my wife who had tennis (actually badminton!) elbow, and it’s the only thing that really helped. From the first use, she reported marked improvement, and was completely OK after a couple of weeks, after suffering for a couple of months. We have recommended it to several people at out club, as it’s an occupational hazard in badminton! You will need a magnifying glass for the (admittedly comprehensive) instructions.

Bought the flex bar trying to fix a problem of tennis elbow / golfer elbow (had both, one on my left arm and the other on the right one) after reading this article: [...]After 4 weeks my situation has definitely improved, though the pain has not completely disappeared yet.Exercises for golfer elbow are a little bit trickier and I could not confirm the effectiveness of this tool for that specific problem.
