The Seagate external portable drive works well. My Windows laptop recognised it as soon as it was attached. Although the description on the box doesn't claim compatability with Linux operating systems, I found it also worked without any problems on two different derivatives of Debian Linux so that was an added bonus. If you have more than one of these drives you can use Windows Computer Management Tool to change the Volume Name and Drive Letter assignment of each drive to something different.

I got this 1TB hard drive as an affordable simple PS4 storage upgrade. So far I am really really pleased, I have used this for one month so far and I have many games on this already which run perfectly.Getting this to work was very simple, PS4 detected it straight away and I just had to confirm this as the source for applications. I transferred some games from the PS4 internal HDD over to this drive and again this was simple and much quicker than I expected.I would definitely recommend

Chose Seagate for back up of new laptop. Previously had problems with a different popular make of external drives - not recognised, both Windows 7 and 10. Seagate drives have never given me that trouble. Slight irritation: earlier models I have were formatted NTFS but this one is exFAT which isn't recognised by backup utility on new laptop, so reformat required after moving the files already on the drive, just in case I might need to refer to them. Small problem, and not Seagate's fault.

We've recently had our fifth child, who after birth was found to have a heart defect requiring open heart surgery. Awaiting his op at Akser Hey we took literally hundreds of photos and videos of his journey. We have now backed all the images up on the cloud and on two hard drives. Little lad had his operation and is doing really well... his photos should remain safe for a lifetime, at least until mum and dad have recovered enough from all the stress to arrange a hard copy photo album.

Tranferred all 20,000 photos from my laptop onto this, now all my wonderful memories are stored safely instead of being lost forever. My laptop decided to not switch on for 13 days and I thought the pictures were gone forever, so I took it to repaired,said it doesn't turn on whilst pressing the button-hey presto it started again so I took the opportunity to transfer everything over to the Seagate 1TB HD, Good reliable make, reasonable price for ample storage space. well pleased :)

What a fab item! Literally plug into laptop and thats it. I was hesitating at first about getting one because the installation tge downloading and waiting put me off but there was none of rhat with this never had anything so straight forward and easy. I was really surprised when i went to pick it up and it was small handy if ypyr lacking space for work, uni, college can easily fit in ypur handbag. Also the stylish design finishes it off all round 5* i love it well worth the money

Read documentation first.Plug in, follow setup prompts, define backup schedule on the host machine and leave the software/hardware to do their job.Pretty simple and intuitive device. Large capacity for peace of mind copies of all your important stuff.Can be used as backup device for many laptops... it sorts out the what and when on connection..Avoid rough treatment. It's an electro-mechanical device, not solid state, so treat with respect.Recommended.

Perfect for expanding memory on my Xbox one, which is probably the bain of a lot of people's consoles. Plugged it straight in out of the box, selected what it was to be used for, formatted it to the xbox, done! Small, quiet, has a little blue light on it, really fast transferring, no errors, comes with cable and instructions. Quick easy and loads of storage for games!! No more deleting games to download updates too. Will definitely be buying the same again.

My son got anPS4 for Christmas and 6 games - turns out he needed extra storage as his games wouldn’t download. After a quick search online I came across this. Reserved at local Argos and picked it up 5mins later. Does the job perfectly. I researched a few different storages options mostly those that were labelled as gaming storage - this isn’t labelled as that but does the job perfectly and at a fraction of the cost. Great quick service from Argos too.

I got this external HDD as I've always seemed to encounter some sort of software/hardware fault somewhere down the line, and without a backup it can really suck. So far I've made incremental backups of my system partition with this 1TB external HDD and so far it's doing it's job nicely. I've even dropped it a few times, nothing too traumatic for it to die prematurely on me (yet), just a few drops from a heights of maybe 2-3ft and it still works fine.

A quick and pleasant transaction. Needed it fast as I needed to transfer data over to my new Mac. after losing my previous HD. Prices on online retailers were similar, adding delivery wait.So it was quicker to purchase from Argos and more trustworthy over online sellers. Used the Argos app and Apple pay, picked it up on my way back home from work.As for the item, no manual required, no external source power needed. It does the job perfectly.

Fantastic portable ready to use storage to enable a windows 10 update on a HP Stream laptop with only 32gb. This drive allowed the update to complete after 3months of continually trying to update laptop that did not recognise a ssd micro when trying to complete update - what a relief to buy this and finally get the windows update completed and know that my laptop was safe. Great price as only other alternative would have been to buy a new laptop.

I got this Portable drive by accident. I went for a 128GB USB for £28 and after checking prices and I found this drive of 1 TB It is more convenient to buy 1TB for less than £50 than buying a less capacity USB for less than half price.It is a well designed and light portable drive. It is thin and easy to carry everywhere. Regarding price is cheaper that I thought and it works really fast. I am very happy with it.

Bought to use with MacBook Pro and despite the box saying it was for windows only and would need a re-format it worked straight away and recognised I was using Mac so set itself up. seems fast enough and connects by USB and works great. looks good, but the material is a scratchy feeling plastic so not as nice to hold as my old seagate one which was metal finished, but only a minor detail and has nil affect on it really.

Bought this to replace a very old portable, I never bother with the software that comes with these items as I find it not very good to use, anyway getting back to this item, I found it quite fast to back up my 16,000 photos, documents, music and downloads, approximately 35 Gigabytes in all, incremental back ups are very fast, in fact just as fast as my SSD portable. Well pleased with this item.
