This has to be one of the best driving games available at the moment and at under £10 is definitely excellent value for money. In single player mode it has 150 'real world' cars in Penny Racer form which can be modded with paint & parts, there is street & circuit racing in one-off and league modes, there are many puzzles to solve & loads of mini-games to play including soccer, golf & fishing, all this as well as a fairly lengthy adventure story to complete. This game also boasts a split screen 2 player option allowing you to race on the circuits from the single player game against a friend. As you travel all over the very large and fairly detailed world you meet with other cars in and around thedifferent cities and get to create a racing team to compete in the different racing events.Overall it's very cartoony in its look & feel which will appeal to gamers of all ages and certainly has more than enough gameplay to keep most people coming back for a long time even after you've completed the adventure story as most of the included mini-games are great fun to play time and again. The only serious negatives to come from this game are that the sound effects are pretty basic and that the cars handling can be a bit tricky when it's been fully modded with a tendency to fly away when you hit even the smallest bump at high speeds.

On paper, this game shouldn't work. The graphics are poor, the sound is annoying (but it has a strange charm) and the controls are fiddly.I saw this about 6 months ago in a shop for a tenner and was looking for a laugh with a mate, so I bought it and haven't regretted it.The attitude of the people (who are actually cars) in this game is fantastic. Everything is so "nice". The premise is that the President can't be bothered to be president anymore, and wants to give it to the person who wins the grand prix. Which everyone's OK with. At one point, a car asks you how to get rid of crows, buy a dog or some crow food. I said 'buy a dog' and apparently rather than scaring/killing/otherwise maiming the birds (as I expected)it made friends with them and asked them to stop eating the crops. The RPG element of the game is passable, the racing element is OK but there are some excellent touches that make this game so good. You can sell advertising space on your car (You can advertise Cake. Not a shop, just cake. Which amused me). Some of the mini-games are excellent, and at one point you're just given a city. As you do.As a game, there are better out there, but as a piece of light entertainment they don't get much lighter or more entertaining. Does the job, above and beyond what you'd expect, and you can play it with your kids.

Road Trip really is a one-of-a-kind game. It is one of the pillars of my childhood. I always was car-mad, but this was the first racing-focused, open-world RPG I had ever played, and I absolutely ate it up.It was so good, even Vice City took the back-seat.You play as, well, yourself. You're a car. Everyone's a car. You start in a small town, where you compete in the town's race, so you can buy the upgrades in the town's shop and win (if you haven't already). Then, you can do some side quests around the town, snap some pictures of your car and head onto the next town. This was the first game I ever encountered with an organized achievement system. These were recorded in the form of 'Stamps',of which there were 100. You got stamps for completing side quests; taking a pic in every booth (100 in total); and all sorts of other tasks. You essentially completed each town's races, three times over, in order of rank, from C to A. Then you participated in the World Championship, and after winning, faced off against the President. The world was pretty huge, with varied terrain and creative landscapes, filled with hidden collectibles and even secrets. The overall atmosphere of the game is extremely child-focused, so if you're a first-timer or going back for nostalgia, you might wanna keep it to yourself.

As my title states, this game can be everlasting, it is the kind of game you can come back to over and over again, seeing as there is tons to do, even if you're only trying to better yourself at some of the activities you've already taken part in, e.g. the golf game, if you finish the round over par, then why not just come back to the course a little later, with a faster car and get yourself under par! It's certainly not your usual type of car game, but there are so many nice touches, that it will keep you wanting to play!Yes, the sound can be slightly annoying after a while.... and the car at the beginning is sluggish to control, but you just tend to forget about any bad points and simply get on with the game!Be it a Cadillac,a Citroen CV, a Nissan Skyline, or a Jaguar XJ220, there are a couple of hundred ways your little motor can look!I bought this game on a whim, it's a couple of years old and it's quirky, but over a few weeks i've probably clocked up 20 hours of playing and barely scratched the surface....now that's rare in a game!!!My boy (who is nearly 4), doesn't fully have the eye/hand co-ordination to properly use a joypad, but by the time he does, i'm sure we're gonna have great fun playing this game together! All this for just a fiver....certainly puts a smile on my face =oD

Very fun, very expansive and very unique. The president is stepping down, and is handing over his title to whoever wins the next Grand Prix... And that's pretty much the entire set up at the very beginning, but really, that's all you need. This game dosen't over-complicate things, you're free to explore 9 huge locations and one of which you get to form your own city, you're free to compete in races and even form your own team of two teammates whilst doing that. And that's what makes the game so great, you feel a sense of freedom. If you don't want to do tasks, you can drive around with a sign on your car to advertise businesses, which in turn earns you money, or just explore. The choice is yours. You can customise your car, your teammates, and there's a ton of two player modes to play, including Car soccer/football and obstacle course - whilst also allowing you both to just race against each other. This game has so much packed into it that graphics shouldn't even matter, because if you based this game on looks, you're truly going to miss the point of how fun this game is meant to be, and there is so much fun to be had.• Delivery was very fast, game box, instruction manual and disc all in perfect condition, plays with no problem.

I bought this game after reading about it in a review. The review only gave it 6/10, but the description intrigued me, so I thought it'd be worth the tenner. I wasn't wrong.Alright, so the graphics look like they'd be more at home on the PS1, and the sound effects can get a little irritating, but the gameplay is golden. The basic aim of the game is to soup up your car enough to reach, race, and defeat the President, but like most RPGs there are dozens of sidequests to keep you entertained - some involve collecting items, some involve racing other cars, one even involves playing football. The other aspect of the game is racing. Racing takes place in different locations at different levels of difficulty, and while it might not quite be Burnout or GT4 it's still fun. Winning races gets you cash, which you can use to upgrade your car in various ways; from better steering and tyres to a rocket booster and wings. You'll eventually build up a team as well, helping you bring in even more money. So, if you're looking for a game but you don't want to shell out £30, I'd definitely recommend it.

When this game arrived I had more fun on my PS2 than ever before! With a vast array of puzzles and mini-games,this game is...erm...undescribable!Trust me,if your a parent, the only sound youll hear for hours is cries of laughter and cheers of joy.I think this game is best for ages up to 11. I'm O.K,I'm 10 and I love it!These mini-games and puzzles include:Golf, roulete, safe code cracking, mazes, quizes and many more!so, my conclusion is:If you dont buy this, your missing a hell of a game!

Good game, quite in-depth in a simple way, if that makes sense. You play a car with a personality, meeting up and interacting with lots and lots of other vehicles with personality. Lots and lots to do, and it can get quite complicated and frustrating at times, but if you're looking for a light adventure game with lots of options for changes (your appearance, your tires, your engine, ooh, loads and loads,) then this is for you. All in all, an enjoyable game. Four (skid) marks.

This game id still entertaining my bro and i through 6 or so ps2's and has stopped us needing a ps3, u can just keep playing, the 2 player mini games are epic. the game sort of reminds me of pokemon with the whole travel around for ages picking people up ect. but me and my bro have different profiles and there is a huge competition for who can get the fastest team mates for the world gand prix (btw Wallace on the rocky world is truly epic lol) 10/10 wicked fun!!

this game isnt a great game, but its well worth the money. the idea of talking cars is a bit lame, but it works well with the game. the races are not chalanging to start, but they get harder. the way you buy parts isnt as good as it could have been, but again it works with the game. the graphics are not that good standard, but they are not that bad. the mini games are the best bits, the footballs easy but very fun and all of the others are fun to.

Never really playing anything like this before and very pleased I own it. Old school tunes, cars and game play with vast expansive areas to explore, it's all up to you. Race, play side quests and build a better and faster car as you go. Find team mates and build a team, race for money to buy new bodies or paintwork. Rather like the old Mario games this one is sweet, un offensive and pure fun. Excellent!

I much enjoyed this game as a child, so I decided to buy it again and was not disappointed! A claimed many hours of time trying to complete the game and it even has its own Achievement/Trophy type system in the form of a notebook. Although as you progress through the story, it starts to become repetitive.
