This is Big, and heavy – in fact the delivery driver had a bit of a struggle carrying it all of five yards from the van to my front door - so be prepared to give it floor space as it will not sit happily on a desk. This is a shredder with Attitude. Measuring 62cms x 46cms x 35cms and weighing in at over 21kgs it is actually very manoeuvrable thanks to its wheels. It has the capability to have a security PIN put in so that only designated users can operate it, which could prove very useful where sensitive information either should, or should not, be destroyed. Credit cards and CDs can also be shredded although I haven't yet tried it on these items. There is a main on/off switch on the back of the unit, then on the front is another press button which gives a bright blue light when switched on. On the top is a bar which illuminates green for “go” and red for “no go”, which is a good safety factor; a see-through panel on the top allows you to monitor the progress.as it quietly and quickly shreds away. I was surprised at how quiet this machine is given its size. So, how does it perform? Extremely well. Read the instruction manual and you can't go wrong – it tells you what this beast likes and does not like: for instance, it doesn't like shiny paper as this tends to slip out of its grasp, and it doesn't like paper which has been folded into, say a pamphlet or booklet as it can't get its teeth into it. It likes ordinary weight paper, but will happily chew through heavier paper provided you feed it into the top. Stack your papers into the feeder under the lid and walk away while it happily chomps through it all along with staples and paperclips, the removal of which is a time-consuming, fingernail breaking pain at the best of times. The auto-jam function works very well, as I discovered when feeding in a sheet of slightly-too-thick paper. The window on the front allows you to monitor the drawer as it fills; one thing I have noticed is that, as it fills, the resulting confetti grows into a mound which then alerts the shredder into thinking it's full. It ain't necessarily so: open the sliding drawer, flatten the mound and carry on a while longer. Obviously when it is full you will need to empty it, so just slide the drawer out, pull up the hidden handle at the back end and away you go. Now, be warned, do NOT empty this into an outdoor bin on a windy day! Remember this shredder is turning your documents into confetti and it doesn't take much to carry it all over the neighbourhood; you will also find the inevitable static build up leaves some of the confetti clinging to the plastic drawer – to prevent this, use the paper liner provided, then cart this to the bin and discard the lot, or if you're canny you can carefully empty it and re-use it. I don't how many times you could recycle the liner, but it's worth at least one, maybe two attempts, if not more. This is without doubt, the best shredder I've ever used, and I've worked in offices both large and small where commercial shredders have been used, and whilst this does not come cheap, it is the Bees Knees of shredders.

Got this at just the right time as we have several years of training records that have to be destroyed.Unit is well packed and comes with a brief instruction manual (full one can be downloaded from Rexel's website), 1 x paper bag (if you want to bag the cuttings separately with ease for recycling, sold in packs), 1 x oil sheet (needed to maintain the cutters, sold in packs) and a collection box for the CD and credit card slot (so the plastic cuttings don't get mixed in with the paper, again for recycling reasons - only fit it if you need to).In operation, the machine makes less noise than a portable air-conditioning unit and I have found to reduce paper spill it is better to empty it beforeit cuts out automatically. The 300 sheet document feed works best on A4 sheets in a neat pile with no staples or clips. The feeder works by pulling the paper down in the middle with two sets of rollers feeding it into the shredder cutters and with a load of A4 items it can just be left to get on with it.The top feed slot is also pretty useful for other items such as junk mail, just feed them in without even bothering to open them (8 sheet thickness limit). So far we have filled up the box it came in twice with paper shreddings and that's in under a week.Never had it jam on any staples or clips but as I mentioned, if you load the auto feeder with odd size documents you may find that will jam.No real need to try the feeder lock and no CD or credit cards to shred so those options not used.I should point out that the manual recommends an annual service plus use of the oil sheets on a regular basis and it is not a domestic product but more for a small business with confidential documents that need to be destroyed.

This is a monster of a shredder. It claims to shred up to 300 sheets of paper in the auto feeder. It will if they are ordinary paper but it stops if they are slightly thicker sheets or thin card, as it grabs them from the middle and pulls them in. So the thicker sheets have to be fed into the top of the shredder instead. Not a problem as the top feed takes up to eight sheets at a time. The Rexel shredder is so easy to use, just stack the sheets of paper in the auto feed and turn it on and leave. It is quiet in use, much quieter than my small home shredder, Which is important in an office as a lot of noise can be distracting. The shredder also shreds credit cards and slices up cd's and dvd's.I have tested it on all of these things and it works a treat. The rexel is also on wheels, so easy to move between one office and another if need be. The clear viewing windows allows you to see when the bucket is filling up and it comes with a disposable paper bag which you can take straight to the bin if you don't want to take the actual bucket. There is also a separate small bucket which slots in just below the cd cutter, so that you're sliced cd's aren't being combined with your shredded paper. They do seem to have thought of everything. Would definitely recommend.

First of all let me say that if you are looking for a nice little shredder for your home office.....this isn't the one you want! This is an industrial type shredder designed for busy offices where there is lots of confidential paperwork to be shredded....It will hold up to 300 sheets of A4 paper and shred them at up to 8 sheets at a time to "security level P4, which is the recommended security level for business documents containing proprietary information and/or sensitive personal information"It will also shred credit cards (which I haven't tried yet as all my cards are still in date)The waste bin is very large too,at 40 litres, which is a lot (300 sheets)of shredded paper. The thoughtful people at Rexel have even included a recyclable sack which fits the waste bin to catch the shredded paper for recycling.Although the window on the waste bin is handy to keep an eye on how full it is,there is also a LED indicator to warn that it needs emptying. This is a premium shredder that is eminently suitable for offices that have an almost constant need for shredding confidential paperwork.

I bought this shredder to support the smaller 60-page Rexel shredder which was not quite enough for my needs. What's attractive about is that it is self-loading so you don't have to stand there like a lemon feeding sheets of paper into it. You can load it up and leave it while you go off and do other things (like writing this review for example). You need two for office use. I print and shred documents for court hearings on a daily basis as part of a home business and one shredder on its own just isn't enough. This way one of them can be working when the other one cools down. The reviews of this shredder don't do it any justice.I've had this one for several months with no issues and I've had the other smaller one for several years.

I do a lot of shredding, and this thing just powers through it with no problems. I just wore out my old shredder, the Auto 100+. This is far quieter and faster than that one. The 100+ also used to stop drawing the paper into the shredder intermittently, and I've had no such problems with this one, very reliable. It's a bit tricky to get the shreddings into a bin bag without spilling them all over the floor, but I refuse to use Rexel's really expensive single use paper infills. I so wish I had got this one last time instead of the 100+. Let's hope the motor doesn't burn out just outside of warranty like the 100+ did.

Great shredder. High capacity waste tray, decent speed, cross cutting for greater privacy and better waste efficiency, not to loud, 300 sheets at a time. All good and as described in the marketing blurb. But what I wasn't expecting was the atmosphere of awe this would cause in the office that lasted several days. This is absolutely true - colleagues were desperate to have a go with it. People were looking for stuff to shred and crowding around the viewing window. Never before have I known a stationary order cause such a whirl wind of pleasure and anticipation! So yeah, I think you should probably buy one.

If like us 99% of the stuff that needs shredding is A4 sheets, then this works brilliantly. It will shred other things but that is not its strength. Anything more than 2/3 sheets needs staples taking out but then just load into tray (same as a photocopier) shut the lid and leave it to it. No more paying someone to stand by the machine feeding in sheets. No more said person trying to ram bundles of paper through, stressing themselves and breaking the machine in the end. It does it all for you. Not a really heavy duty machine but it does not need to be for normal office papers

Excellent shredder for the price! It saves so much time compared to normal shredders, as you just pile in the sheets and the machine works its self out. It’s able to unjam it self and carry on shredding. The actual shred is very fine and small bits, no chance to be able to put it back together again! Able to place a recycle bag into the bin, so it’s very easy to clean up as well as it all goes directly into it. Definitely worth the price it is, only fault is the very very short power cable! Need to use another extension lead to place the shredder in a convenient area.

Really simple innovation which removes the need to sit and feed shredding 6 pages at a time. Straight forward to use, there are only two draw backs:1) Emptying the box makes a right mess... of course they have designed a consumable to help, but even so - it should be possible to empty without so much shred being spread about2) It is expensive. I managed to get a Warehouse Deal, but full price is high... guess it depends how much you have to shred and how you value your time.Overall highly reccomended

Not all shredders are made equally ! This is the DADDY of shredders, unlike most shredders than simply jam with 10 sheets this takes 300 sheets into the magazine at the top, it then automatically shreds them to government standards in seconds. This is a serious office shredder and can take around 1000 sheets before needing emptying, it is surprisingly quiet and yet super powerful. If you have a busy office and want a shredder that just gets it done then go for this !

I love the paper feeder drawer. I found the feeding of paper into other shredders the most mind numbing job. This little beast sits quietly in the corner munching quietly and getting through all the shredding while I carry on with my work and life! Love this!

16.5.2019

I love the fact that it fits underneath my desk and I can fill the autofeeder and leave it to shred happily away. Despite it being a confetti shredder that in theory only takes 6 sheets at a time, I have caught up on my shredding :-)

24.8.2017

Good product. Only negative (not significant at all) is that the shredded papers sometimes litter the room when being pulled out of the case. Otherwise this is by far the best personal shredder I have ever purchased.

Very easy to use for small office. Not noisy. You can hear it but it’s not a distraction and you can still use telephone etc while it’s being used. Great buy.
