I must admit that I have read a lot of poor to average reviews of this game. I don't find it to be as bad as some have said. It's true that it doesn't look as good as Tiger Woods 2007 and there are not as many real golfers and real courses included, (there are 18 with only 2 being real, I am advised), compared to the Tiger Woods games. However, whereas Tiger Woods is a bit too easy, this is much harder and the chances of compiling massively under par scores are nowhere near as good. The way you take the shot seems more complicated at first, compared to Tiger Woods, but actually I found it easy to get to grips with.Once you have learned the various ways you can affect the swing and the flight of the ball then it makes for a good game. There is the usual career mode and quick play options. I believe there are also challenges that you can enter as you progress through your career but as yet I haven't found them. You earn reknown points, in career mode, by achieving various tasks, i.e.. long drive, long putt etc, and these go to increase the ability of your player. However, unlike Tiger, you don't seem to be able to choose which skill to apply the extra points to, in fact you don't seem to be able to view your players skill levels at all. There is a player create mode similar to the Tiger Woods 'game face', but it is nowhere near as detailed, infact it is extremely limited indeed.Overall I would say that this is like a cutdown version of Tiger Woods lacking the same polish and depth. Bearing all this in mind, though, I still found it to be a fun game with the bonus of a difficulty level much greater than Tiger Woods. I would recommend renting it, if you can, before buying to see if you like it.

This game is very different to the Tiger Woods series. You really have to concentrate on what you're doing and take everything into consideration. Wind, lie, height of the green in relation to where your playing from and you have to be careful with your swing. You can manufacture you're fade, draw, flop, chip shots etc in your stance. You can't add spin after you've taken the shot as in Tiger Woods, if you play a bad shot it stays bad. So, this really is more realistic than any other golf game i've played. Sounds great doesn't it? Well, no. It's OK for people who don't mind spending quite a while playing one round as you always play with another pro in your round in career mode.I'm more of a pick up and play merchant and that's something you won't be able to do with this, i imagine any prowess gained would be lost if it's left alone for any length of time. I don't think a great fan of Tiger Woods would love this but some people would have been waiting for a true golf game and now they've got it.
