My brother wanted to get this game for the 360 because we didnt have any games except halo. so we decider to get PGR3 and am I glad that we did. The graphical capabilities are amazing its like watching a cgi film. The handling is really good and cars are well put together cars like mclaren F1, cerbera speed twelve, and ferrari 288 gto evo. There is a career mode which you can go through in 5 different diffculties, Novice, Easy, Medium, Hard, Hardcore completing the game in all difficulties will give you a lot of gamer points and i mean a lot. You can have a time trial on each lap which includes a ghost that goes round with you of your best lap on the track.Completing all tracks in this mode gives you a gamer score. There is an abillity to make your own tracks to race on. There are four cities to make tracks for Tokyo, Las Vegas, New York and of course London. Tracks are really fun to make and try out. There is another course called Nurbungring (or however its spelt) which is the most challenging course in the game and longest. one track being seven minutes long. There is also a photo mode to take pictures of your car passing famous landmarks like Big Ben, the London Eye, a load of skyscrapers in tokyo and new york, and an eiffel tower in Las Vegas! The quality of these photos is amazing and you can enjoy them yourself or show them off to a friend in slideshow.Entering the garage is really the time when you see the full potential of the 360.The graphics of the garages are absolutly incredible and the detail is amazing. From the sun shining off your car to the "BREAK GLASS" on the fire alarm, it is so realistic. In every garage there are two arcade games "Geometry Wars" and "Geometry Wars 2" which could be 360 games themselves. They are really fun and you should really try them out.Your character looks like Stig from Top Gear and the test track in Career mode where you try to beat your other cars is like the test track in Top Gear. One thing is for sure if you want the next generation in gaming or if you just want a fun game to play with your mates. You must buy this game!

PGR3...I have never played the first 2 but looking at this would love to.Having read some of the other reviews, some people may have mis understood PGR3. When you say racing game there are two types of people. The first think of Burnout and games were you hold X or A and turn. The others think of Gran Turismo and Games that are alot more detailed then that. Where you have to actually brake to go around a corner.PGR3 fits into the second category. It is a realistic driving game. Or is it...On the bases you have to brake (sometimes quite hard) to go around a corner. But as we are talking about a second gen game, if you are raming into a wall at 170 miles an hour (which is very easy to do in 500+BHP cars)you would expect the driver to end up on the moon and the car to be smaller then a matchbox. No this does not happen. Instead A few scratches comeup. In some ways this is good, Because you don't want to wreck a ride in the middle of a race with the computer using cars in the same category as you. But I was expecting more then just scratches. There are only 80 supercars on offer but there are some marketplace downloads, to gain more, on offer. The cars are easily categorised. Manufacture, so it easy to find you dream Aston Martin or exotic Ferrari. And then they categorise them into speed type. A being the fastest and E the slowest. However on this point I would disagree on some of the way they have categorisd them in the order they have.Basicly this is a Very very very very very very very very good game. But as a next gen it just not enough. But as Jeremy Clarkson would say about the V8 Vantage. I just don't care.It is smooth game play, Amazing graphics and it has cars on there that you can only think about getting. So if you want the best racing game on 360 this christmas, buy the 911, buy Test Drive unlimited. But if you want all the thrills, spills of that but you want beauty as well, buy the V8 vantage, Buy PGR3. And be Blown away.Gameplay 9/10Graphics 10/10Loading 6/10Amount on offer 7/10Overall 8/10

For me, this game is one of the reasons I bought an Xbox 360 in the first place and I certainly haven't regretted my decision. For me, this is what a true racing game should be like. Fast cars and good fun. I would say it's neither a true simulator nor an arcade racer along the Need for Speed lines. It is a balance between the two, with the cars' acceleration, looks etc being very true to life but with far more forgiving game play than, say, GT4 or one of the FIA racing games. For example, on the Nurburgring, you can drive around the corners a lot faster than you would be able to in GT4 but this is not a bad thing, just different. There are about 80 cars in the game and while that doesn't sound too impressive compared to GT4,you get QUALITY cars and I mean QUALITY. Ferraris, Maseratis, Astons, Lotuses, Mercs, Koenigseggs, Lamborghinis, Jags, only the creme de la creme. So, for example, you won't see a Daihatsu Cuore Avanzato R or a Citroen C3.If you want to race with more run of the mill cars like those, by all means fish out your copy of GT4 (I still love mine to death!) but if you want true performance cars, PGR3 is the game to get it. If you have played PGR4 but think it's not worth getting PGR3, I would say you're wrong! PGR3 has a lot of cars that PGR4 does not have and vice versa. On a final note, many people compare Forza 2 and PGR with each other and there constant debates about which is better. The area that PGR gets my vote over Forza is the fact that you have in-car view which adds immensely to the driving experience. True, you don't have as many cars to choose from but I think most people would agree that 80 and about 120 vehicles (including bikes in PGR4) is ample. Also, PGR has some real rarities that I haven't seen ANYWHERE else on the Xbox 360 i.e. Lotus GT1, Ford GT90, Ford Indigo Concept, Caparo T1, Gumpert Apollo, SSC Ultimate Aero TT, Aston Martin DBS, Jaguar XJ220 S TWR, etc, etc.

I really loved the last pgr titles, and played them religiously. and therefore was looking forward to this game very much, and was the first one i picked up on friday when i got my 360. now, lets get one thing straight, this game looks amazing. absolutely brilliant. infact its single-handedly made me want to buy an HD-TV in order to experience it at an even higher resolution (quite a feat in under 5 hrs game time and an output of £500+!). The game is made extra special by lightning quick gameplay(helped by a completely jitter-free graphical experience), and seamless xbox live integration. The game features around about 80 cars, which contrary to what another reviewer said, is less cars than the other games. All of the cars hit (or just off) 170 mph, some, such as enzos and murcialagos go well into 200 mph. The gameplay feels more approachable than the first 2 PGRs, but not necessarily easier in the long run. However, this is a breeze compared to recent racing titles such as Forza motorsport, which i still consider to rise above PGR 3, in realism, features and customisation). The other bizarre games have all had entry level cars (eg. minis, seat leons etc.) and you had to master these cars before being let loose on the more powerful ones. and this is where i really think the developer has lost the plot somewhat. everythings fast, very fast, so you begin to not appreciate how fast you're going without the contrast. I hope PGR4 brings back the old cars, or perhaps you can download a few on the fantastic live market-place.CONCLUSION - a must have for all racing fans: gorgeous, fast, ingenious multiplayer. its got it all. just dont expect it to be forza or Gran turismo in terms of variety of cars. PGR 3 only has one trump card(very fast), but it plays it so damn well that you won't care.

This was my first introduction into Xbox 360 gaming and wow, what a way to start.Graphics: absurdly detailed and crisp through a HDTV. Each of the cities have been modelled from photographs and are very close to how they look in real life. Car details are precise and even the car interiors have been accurately drawn. It really is breathtaking.Sound: Accurate representations of car engines, tire noise, collisions and even the soundtrack on offer is respectable, although you can still listen to your own tunes using the 360's dashboard.Gameplay: Handling is fairly realistic, if not in the same league as Gran Turismo 4, but then GT4 wasn't much fun. Besides, how accurate can it be when driving a car with a joypad?!This is a game of two halves. Offline and Online. On the one half you have the offline game where you race against artificial opponents. There are around 20 championships made up of between 1 and 6 races. Races are staged in a number of locations, including Japan, New York, London, Las Vegas and the Nurburgring in Germany. If you are connected to Xbox Live, completing a championship will put your time on a giant scoreboard so you can see how you compare to thousands of other players. As the money starts rolling in, it is probably a good time to start buying some cars. Check out the list of unlockable achievements to see which ones you should start collecting and keep going until you have them all.The Online game, which requires a gold membership subscription is a good laugh, its easy to set up and get into, but it is a good opportunity to start recommending or avoiding certain players. The online game is quite cut-throat as people are more than happy to push you head-long into a barrier!Great game overall with limitless potential if you have Xbox live.

PGR 3 is in my opinion one of the best racing games on the X Box 360 console. At first when I first bought it, I thought PGR3 would be average at best due it's low price tag, but after playing it for the first time for just half an hour, I quickly realised this definatley wasn't the case at all. Putting it simply, I loved it.There are different game modes in PGR3 to choose from. You can do a solo career which is consists of 23 different locations, each of which have a selection of events included in each location. Each of the events differ from street races, overtaking a select number of cars within a time limit, timed races, one to one races and cone challenges where you have to race between cones on the track and use drifting to achieve a high score. The races themselves are fairly long, especially on higher difficulty levels. There are 4 difficulty levels, these are bronze, silver, gold and platinum. I advise, especially if your new to the game, you start playing for the bronze medels first. I completed the solo career mode at bronze difficulty in 2 days and for doing this you will of course gain a very nice gamerscore. After you complete the bronze difficulty level, you can then start the game at silver level and work your way up to platinum level from there. The other game mode is online career which if you have xbox live you can race against people online which is tough but very enjoyable and fun. What I love about this game is each race is different from the last. The variety in the gameplay is fantastic and keeps you hooked as well.Overall this is a great game and I recomend it to anyone. If you can't afford to get Forza 2 or Colin McCrea DIRT, invest in PGR3 you won't be disapointed. For the price, it is definately worth every penny.

I was all ready to send PGR3 back to the shop. Then I took it online for a few hours – WOW!!I bought PGR3 as one of my first xbox 360 games because I loved PGR2. I spend over 100 hours on the single player and online game combined which is a lot for me.My first impressions of PGR3 were good – it looks gorgeous. The cars look really incredible and the environments look just as good. Now for the negatives. The loading times are quite long whatever you choose to do. I suppose a DVD drive can only read data at a certain rate and if you have more data for a game, it will take longer to load. Typical load times are in the region of 30 second which I can certainly put up with. This is especially true when I’ve got a custom soundtrack on my 360 to listen to.I was also disappointed with the lack of small cars. As others have written I like to get used to new tracks with smaller less powerful cars before progressing to the Ferrari enzos etc.The single player game is very much like the last game in that the tasks can be performed at one of 5 levels. What I do not like is that once you have unlocked a supercar you can use it for all of the tasks. I liked the categories in PGR2 which made my study the different cars. Now, in PGR3, I just use the enzo for most of the tasks or a similar fast car.Now let me progress to the best part of PGR3 – online is SUPERB. There are now more options and you can even use a custom track (there are something like a million that can be made!). The loading is still an issue, but now I can listen to music as it loads AND talk to other players. You can also put AI cars into the race if there are not many online. To summarise – offline PGR3 is very good but you might like to rent before purchasing. Online it ROCKS.

If there is one game that shows off the graphical prowess of the xbox 360, then PGR3 is it!The amount of detail here is superb. From the supercars that you get to drive, to the very streets that you have to race on, this is the most realistic, yet arcadey fun driving game I have ever played. It's such a blast to drive round famous landmarks in Tokyo, London and New York, and the full length Nurburgring is a test of endurance that onlt F1 drivers have known about. The best view for a realistic driving sense is the in car view, where you basically look out of the eyes of your driver. You can feel the car, heavy to drive, feel the gear changing, and the engine thrumming. This view really puts you into the thick of the action when you are surrounded by other cars. The windscreen gets dirty, and by moving the right analogue stick, you can move your drivers head to look out the side windows!Attention to detail on track is just a good. Crash into barriers and the crowd scream and run away. Have a pause on the London track, and you can see the Millennium Wheel...actually moving round! Everything is joy to behold. The single player is also decidedly short, but you will keep coming back to it to try out the different difficulty settings. All the old challenges from the previous games are here - cones, speeding challenges, overtaking. All of it fun and fully realised. The split screen multiplayer is not as good as the online multiplayer, as the split screen makes it really hard to see ahead, but the multiplayer is the one thing that will keep you coming back to this game. Are you ready...on your marks, get set, GO!

I am not a racing game person. I am more of an RPG fan. I just never saw the point in playing a racing game. All that changed the instant I played a PGR demo at HMV on a HD LCD TV. That instant I decided to buy an HD LCD TV, an Xbox 360 and PGR3! Few months down the line, I got all 3 of these, and I am not surprised to see PGR still at the top of the bestsellers list.A few words about the game...Pluses - Jaw-droppingly stunning graphics!! Prepare to be mesmerized!A great soundtrack, much much enhanced by the sound of the car engines!Amazingly addictive gameplay... for me each race was different - it was about improving my virtual driving skills - it was about avoiding crashing at the tricky corners and so on.The replays are awesome! At the end of the race, you can view the replay of the entire race! You can marvel at your driving skills and grimace at shoddy crashes!I love supercars, but like most people who love supercars, I lack the finances to actually go out and get one. That is another attraction of this game - the ultra-realistic graphics and stunning array of cars at your disposal make it an amazing experience!Minuses -There are none I could find!A note on gameplay -I noticed in a few reviews people have given this game low scores because of poor gameplay. I am puzzled by these people... if anybody wants gameplay, go get an RPG. This game is a car racing game. It is supposed to involve driving a car from the start line to the finish line in the best possible way in the shortest possible time! How difficult is that to get into your head!

I finally recieved my 360 in late January with the games Perfect Dark Zero, Kameo and PGR 3. For me, Kameo was instantly playable and it was finished within a week clocking up just over 20 hours of play. Superb!!I reluctantly tried PGR 3 again having been frustrated at my inability to go around a corner without smashing the side barriers. I purchased a ferrari testarossa - one of the slowest cars in the game - and merely enjoyed driving around the same tracks again and again. Before I knew it I had found the racing line and was e-braking an RUF R Turbo cleanly through new york. This helped me achieve all silver trophies. I then purchased the Enzo Ferrari and I am still busy trying to achieve the last couple of Gold trophies.Initially I thought that completing the gold championship would be impossible but alas! Tis not. Yesterday I pulled out the F-50 GT and attempted the street race around nurburgring in gold medal, I trailed for most of the way but smoked the mclaren F1 on the last corner. My palms were sweaty, my heart was beating. It was exhilarating!! Now Platinum might just be within reach. In response to those that write PGR 3 off as 'boring'; you clearly have not persevered, or if you have persevered but still dont enjoy it you ust be crap at gaming - you are the type of person that believes they have 'completed' Perfect Dark when they have finished the 14 levels on 'agent' setting.PGR3 has superceded Kameo as my 360 game of choice and I whole heartedly recommend it, but not of course, if you dont like games that require skill and determination.

Project Gotham Racing 3 is another fantastic racing game with all the usual race modes from previous games, plus a few extra ones. Obviously as it is on the 360 it looks much better especially in HD. However I would say that the tracks are a little bit too samey for my liking. A little more veriety would have been nice. The cars are all super fast. Unlike the original games you don't have to start off with a car that really sucks. Even the worst ones, in this game, are pretty powerful beasts. One slight downside. In the single player career you have five medals for each race. If you don't go for gold as a minimum then the game is so easy and you will breeze through it really fast.Gold is a bit of a challenge but only Platinum is tough. The game could have been a little harder on lower levels. That being said there are plenty of online options to race against friends on XBOX Live so that makes up for it.If you are familiar with previous games then you will know what to expect. If you liked them then you should like this. I would say though that despite all the improvements in graphics, extra options etc..' I still prefer PGR1 and 2. Both PGR1 and 2 work with the XBOX 360 although PGR1 is a little slow and you might need to download an update to play them. Also look out for PGR4 which I would say is the better of the two XBOX 360 games.

What makes a game a classic? Great gameplay, stunning looks, and something to keep you coming back again and again? Well, Project Gotham 3 has all of these things, and it has got me hooked.Gameplay is very nearly flawless. Utterly believable car dynamics combine with super-realistic, gorgeous looking cars in real world cities like London, Paris and New York to create an engrossing one player game… for a while. So one player is good, but Xbox Live is where the game really comes alive. In the online career you pit yourself against other online gamers (150,000 of them and counting) from around the world, moving up or down the world rankings depending on your race results. Its such a simple idea but it makes for a hugely addictive feature as you try to move up the leagues, craving that start-line adrenaline rush that you just don’t get in 1-player mode.Read the other reviews here and you will see that there are flaws – all too often a tight race is ruined by some idiot barging you into a wall for example, but such complaints are minor in the scheme of things.I do have one major gripe however – for the love of god, why are there no minis??!! Where is the Golf GTI? These slower classes of car gave PGR2 an extra fun factor that’s missing from this game. All in all though, a beautiful looking game that will keep you coming back for more.

If you are remotely interested in racing games or simply just the cars, then you will adore this game. Both the exotic array of cars and extensive maps have been recreated in breathtaking realism.I have had the fortune of driving some of the cars in this game, such as the Ferrari 360 and Skyline GTR, and believe me they have the looks (both interior and exterior) and the sounds matched perfectly. Every car produces it's own unique sound identical to the real thing and this alters depending where the camera is around the car. Some cars produce more noise inside the cockpit, others produce more from the exhausts. You can even hear the whistling of the turbos inside the cars that have them. The handling and performance is also extremely realistic, with just the right balance of skill required to master each class of car and map.Surround sound is awesome with this - if you see a car in your rear view mirror, then you will also hear that car behind you. Go inside the cockpit and if it's a rear engined car, the engine noise comes from behind - AMAZING!The game also has long-lasting appeal with split screen playability, a plentiful selection of challenging single player games as well as the excellent XBox Live to take on the world. This is quite simply a must buy for anyone with an XBox 360.

It amazes me that some people have slated this game. It left me with a feeling of apprehension when buying PGR3 and for the first 20 minutes of playing the game I had a nagging doubt in the back of my mind... are the nay sayers right? is something missing? But how wrong can someone be? After having the game for nearly a week (and depleting 2 sets of batteries on the game alone) there is no doubt in my mind that if you like the arcadey racing of the PGR series, then this game is for you. The solo career is fantastic and very challenging on its harder modes, the ability to see how you rank alongside other players around the world is just mind blowing and the online play options and games are simply the best online experience I have ever come across. In fact, after COD2 online I was really disappointed and if I hadn't bought this game I would probably not have bothered thinking about continue to subscribe to xbox-live gold after my free month trial. This is a far better game than PGR2, its online component is incredible and the solo game is great. The only criticism i have of the game, and this really is nit-picking, is that it is not the evolution of solo gameplay that you may think the 360 deserves. But hey, lets just hope that this is rectified in PGR4 though eh?

I bought this game after borrowing it from a friend and I was hooked from the start. It is just what I wanted from it, a pure racing game. I have played TOCA on the XBOX and found that the Scottish guy shouting in the earpiece all through every race was annoying. This game have nothing like that you just get to race very well rendered, shiny, expensive sports cars against the clock or each other.Ont of the best features is the accumulation of Kudos, these are collected for stylish driving and totalled up at the end of each race, you have a cummulative total which can be compared to everyone else on Xbox live. In fact your ranking at the end of every race is placed with everyone else on Live (I'm usually around the 800th !!!).The controlls are easy to use, though can be over sensitive in the faster cars, I have tried to steer with the Ferrari Enzo at 200mph and instantly hit the side walls! The graphis are amasing quality and have never been jerky and are exceptionally well rendered. As mentioned before in another review the soundtrack is a little limited but it is easy on the 360 to connect your own music. All in all a great quality game which has had me rushing home from work everyday to race around a track to releive some tension!
