As somebody who has just (with his son) ground out a platinum trophy on this, I thought I'd stick a review on this game.Having just come off of the back of "Star Wars : The Complete Saga", my initial impressions weren't that great. It's quite a contrast to the cutesy style used and there's definitely a more grown up look and feel to the game (yep, even for Lego!). And the Clone Wars game has A LOT more to it. It's got the usual storyline, and plenty of additional missions for fun. Inbetween levels you have a variety of "lobby" areas to explore. Just when you think you've worked the place out, there's another spaceship (The Invisible Hand) to discover, with extra characters, bounty hunter missions etc.The levels themselves are broken down in to three main types. There's the traditional levels where you hop jump and fight your way around the puzzles. There are "ground assault" levels where you have to build bases with various cannons, shields etc to defeat the other side (who also have bases). Finally, you are regularly flying in to space with a variety of ships and blast your way around. I do prefer the old school levels, but did start to enjoy the flying missions towards the end, although the controls were a little fiddly in my opinion. I pretty much hated the ground assault missions from start to finish. There's so much to unlock, it's mind boggling. Once you've completed a level, you can re-do them with your choice of characters. If you've managed to unlock specific characters, this will give you the potential to grab those minikits to get that all-important 10/10 for another gold brick. As usual, if you get enough studs, you'll get "True Jedi" which gives another gold brick as well. The graphics too are outstanding. You can fly to different systems and some of the artwork is just plain awe inspiring. There's some really slick touches. For instance, I stood on the bridge in another area of the spaceship, while my son as player 2 took a flight outside. Sure enough, I get to see him land and take off from a different vantage point. Sounds kinda weak, but I know that must have taken some doing.A few minor grumbles. There's no way to review the cut scenes without playing the levels again in story mode (no cut scenes in Free Play). Some were so funny (and as always some humour is very subtle). They had this in Indiana Jones 5 years ago (the cinema room I think), so what's the deal!? The ground assault missions to me just seemed like an annoyance that had to be gotten through, and I think they must have spent a fair amount of effort getting that game functionality because there's plenty of 'em !And unless you are some sort of lunatic, you are not going to get the 10/10 minikits without help from the internet (thank you so much XBox Achievables!). Nor are you going to work out some of the ridiculous trophies. Some of them are hidden, and so daft that you'd never work them out. Still, it was great fun finishing them off.For the £24 I'm seeing it here, that's tremendous value. It's great fun and I can tell you that my five year old son was showing me the ropes by the end of it!So as long as you don't get initially overwhelmed, you're going to get a lot of gameplay and good times from this game. Superb value for money. Buy and enjoy! Finally, for those that stuck out my babbling, I will offer a tip. Work towards getting the x2 multiplier, and then the x4. When switched on together, this multiples your studs by 8. Indeed, there are further multipliers and it gets much easier once you've got the x6 (it goes up to x10). I could have cheated and used the codes to get the characters, bricks etc, but by holding out for the x2, life got easier. There, if that doesn't whet your appetite, what will!?

Firstly, I have to say that this is a fine game, all round. The graphics are good, the gameplay is accomplished and the durability also very acceptable. One will notice that the non-Lego visuals are good (eg. the landscapes), that playing the game is smooth and intuitive, and that you will need to play all the levels at least twice (each time offering different abilities and possibilities) to complete the game 100%.I ordered this game mainly for my younger brother of 10, with whom I have been playing Lego video games for several years. And on that point, one of the best features of this game, and Lego games in general, is the ability to 'drop-in' and 'drop-out' of play at whatever time.Another positive aspect is that of the levels and the increased options to make the game more enjoyable. One can create his own characters and explore different parts of the Clone Wars world and play in modes beyond the main storyline. And the best thing is that players who have already played Lego titles before will know more-or-less what to expect.Having said all of that, there is the downside of this game perhaps lacking some of the originality of former Lego games. While the story in itself is quite fresh, it is just another Lego game with little new in the way of game mechanics. But that is not a terrible thing. Though I would have to say that this game is not as good as the first two in the Lego Star Wars saga. Another disappointment would have to be the lack of any proper online multiplayer mode.Ovorall, though, I would reccommend this game as it offers a simple, but enjoyable gaming experience. This game will, of course, be better suited to to those under 13 years of age, but you can always play along your younger friend if you are a teen or an adult and have some fun with it. However, it has to be said that players under 8 or 9 will probably strugle with some of the more complex levels, and therefore will need a helping hand if they are to progress in the game. The final verdict is to get this game if you know what Lego games are about. If you do not I would still think you should give this one a chance, and though it may not be all you expected, it should provide some entertainment for you and/or your younger relatives or peers.

Been a big fan of the Lego franchises. With the exception of Harry Potter (sorry, not a fan) I've played all of them across various platforms and they're all great (maybe except Indy2). Batman was probably my fave. Anyway, Lego Star Wars III doesn't disappoint. I'm now playing it on the PS3 and it looks beautiful. The previous games were designed for the previous generation of consoles so were just ported to the PS3. Being designed for this generation, it makes good use of the PS3's capabilities. All the fun of the previous games is still present. Additional features haven been added. You can now throw your light sabre at things. There are times when you have to move a droid somewhere using the force,as the droid can't get there on its own. On the subject of the force, you have to guide the object(s) yourself. It takes a little more thought. You can also use your light sabre to cut through walls. One of things I wasn't so keen on in the early Star Wars games, was the vehicle levels. I found them a little tedious and looked on them as a necessary evil. I preferred the character-based, "on foot" levels. Maybe I wasn't alone with that feeling. The only 2 space ship levels I've had, have also involved landing, and getting out and doing things on foot. Kinda like the forest moon of Endor level in Return of the Jedi (but better). The central hub is the Jedi Command Ship. At the start of the game, you're on board the bridge. As you unlock content, more and more of the ship becomes unlocked for you to explore. You can even fly out of it and across to the enemy ship the Malevolence. I'm only about 5 levels on story mode into it, and I love it already. They've not changed the game for the sake of changing it. They've just expanded it well. If you liked the previous Star Wars/Indiana Jones/Batman games, you won't be disappointed.

If you are a fan of the Lego games, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Batman et-al you'll still find much to enjoy in this new Clone Wars game. Based upon stories from season 1 and 2 of the Clone Wars Cartoon series, this game contains all the main Jedi and Separatist characters you'd expect, along with loads of Clone Toopers, Rex, Cody, Ponds, Echo, Fil and all in perfect Lego form.As you might expect this new game has a similar formula to the original Star Wars Lego game, with the same concepts of fighting lego characters, solving simple sequence problems, breaking objects and thereby collecting "studs", gold blocks and mini-kit items. Once a level is complete free play is unlocked along with lots more challenges for each level. However the designers of the game have really been working hard to add new features, with the battle field sequences demonstrating a whole new level of complexity and hence fun. The range of tanks, walkers and space fighters that can be called upon once they have been earned is very impressive. There's also plenty of humour dotted throughout the embedded video clips, I rather liked General Grievous taking his cough medicine, and the Musac in the lift is quite amusing (at least the first few times). My 8year old son has previously played most titles on a Wii, but this time round we've bought it for our PS3, while the game play on the Wii would be equally good, the game does make good use of the PS3 graphics. I'd say it was going to be a definite favourite for quite some time.

I found this game amazing. it is based on series 1 and two of the clone wars. Even though I did not buy it on my account I had fun playing with it, I apologise that I have not submitted my review in a whole year, I have still not collected all the bonuses but I have completed all the levels. To be honest it is relatively easy, you pass most levels first time. But they more than make up for it with a dozen or so red bricks hidden all over the good and bad guy ships that give you a special ability that you can buy. There are also 10 bonus items on each level which you have to do a special challenge to get each one of them. If you get all ten on a level you get a special character that's not found in the clone wars.I especially enjoy the big battles where you place all your soldiers and tanks all over the place and destroy the other team's bad guys. I like that you can team up with a friend but sometimes me and my sister get into a massive fight. I love when you kill someone because they explode into loads of Lego pieces. Be warned this is not a game where the wii remote is the handle of a lightsaber. All in all its one of the best game ever!!!!!

This is a nice game with colourful graphics and a wide variety of things to do on each level. As the game progresses, the difficulty does increase, and trying to get the 100% without turning on the extras like invincibility is certainly a big challenge. My main concern is that there does seem to be a few bugs in the game. In one of the early levels, when approaching the end, the game froze up and would not recover, therefore had to restart the PS3. Thankfully this has only happened once. But there was another bug where one person was on foot, another in a fighter, and when swapping them, caused the ship to dissappear and the character to plummet. The ship never reappeared, and therefore the level could not be completed. There seem to be other bugs where swapping characters is prevented. I was surprised that there was no patch to download that fixed the errors, because as far as I'm aware, all the previous Lego games had patches.Still, a really good game with plenty of humour and wide varying gameplay that will keep you entertained.

It's very tempting to rate this game a 5 star through the shear amount of enjoyment that my 7 year old has playing it.He has played all the Lego games and loves them all but I think this may be the best one yet.I can't bring myself to give it a full 5 stars though because it does have bugs in the game which up to now have meant that we have had to turn off and restart the game. Very annoying and it has happened quite a few times now that every time my son is on a new level I worry it will freeze.Saying that though it does not ruin the enjoyment of this fantastic game so don't be put off.I find that some of the levels are very tricky to work out and I am so glad that I purchased the game guideto go with this as it has made it much easier and far more enjoyable being able to find a solution when you get really stuck.I know this isn't the game guide review but I highly recommend that you buy one to go along with this game.

As with any of the Star wars lego games you pretty much know what you are getting, this game follows the Animated Clone Wars, It manages to follow the episodes superbly. The game play is very good and just about the level of difficulty that you want, my little boy of 7 has been playing it for a while and has completed a few levels, enough for him to want to keep playing and not be bored. The Wii in my opinion has lacked a fun game that has not just been about waving the controller for a while, the last Wii Lego Harry Potter was a big disappointment, this is back with the best. There a some very new editions to the game play, the SceneSwap is great, you play with different characters and swap between challenges, you press Y and it takes you to another character who must complete their mission before you can processedThe split screen is another new edition, I think it was first introduced to the Harry Potter game,

If you are as addicted to the lego games as I am you will love this. I would say it was more for adults this time as some of the tasks are quite hard and working some things out without internet help is almost impossible.Good points - some interesting and innovative changes to character attributes, new games and look fab. Took me over 50 hours to complete first time and I have completed all the lego games many times so lots of game for your money.Down sides - really glitchy. I don't think this was properly tested before release. I have had vehicles that I need to proceed with a level disappear completely, sound problems, slowing down of action. Restarting the level or the game usually resolves the problem but it can get annoying.Running around to find all the characters to buy gets a bit tiresome if you want to get to 100%.

Me and my younger sister (17 and 18)have been playing this all weekend and have sadly "finished" the game but there's still loads more to do and find. We've got 2 weeks off soon but I'm sure it'll take us that long to find most of whats left.It follows some of the best plots in the TV series however I would say some of the tasks are a little hard for the intended audience, even we (as fairly experienced gamers)had to search on the internet for the answers. I like the slighly challenging feel of it, it kept us on our toes and the friendly competiton of who had the most stups was great too.As the first lego game I've bought (and it's star wars too)I would honestly recommend it to those who justwant to have fun and have a good laugh with a friend or family member (the cut scenes are pretty good too).

This game is much better than the previous star wars games and I didn't think that was possible! My kids aged 6 & 7 both love it, as do I. The interaction / transition between character and spaceship is a great idea. It is extremely difficult to find anything negative to write - the only one probably is that when the screen splits in 2 player mode is can be difficult to see what you are aiming at - that said I believe you can configure how this works so I am being very picky. If you like star wars (clone wars) and you like playing games you must try this one. Oh, just thought of another negative. It needs to have a 3 player mode because Dad can't get a game!

I bought two Lego games for my partner's children aged 6 and 7 for Christmas. I chose this one and Harry Potter. They play on them on my PS3 whenever they are staying with us, and seem to have great fun. They can play separately, or together on split screen so it is a good way of getting them to play together and co operate, and they can also play with their dad or me if one of them wants to do something different. They seem to enjoy the games very much and always want to put them on, very happy with them they seem suitable for all ages, my only complaint is that they crash occasionally. Overall a great gift for gamers of all ages.

I've not played very much yet, but all the signs point to this being just as good as it's predecessors. They've upgraded the controls and included bigger battles (only fair, since the game is based on the biggest battle of Star Wars folklore). My advice would be to get the "Complete Saga" first. It's dirt cheap now, is packed with stuff and it will give you an idea if you're going to like this before you shell out the big bucks. Mind you, if you're even reading this, you've probably played TCS anyway and played it to death like I have. In which case, what are you waiting for?

My Son recently upgraded from a Wii to a PS3 and I've been busy buying all his favourite Wii games for the new platform. He's always loved the Lego games and this - along with the Complete Saga - is probably his favourite. The gameplay is excellent; challenging for a 7-year-old but not impossible so it keeps his interest. Of course, the brilliant characterization and the stirring music all play their part too. Finally, the graphics are stunning, really crisp and clear. Wonderful after the blocky graphics on the Wii.Fantastic fun.

I bought this for my son's 9th birthday. Some may say he is a bit old for it but I personally don'y like the blood and gore films that are available. Lego Star wars give the fighty bits but its only blowing up Lego. My son and his friends will play for hours on this game so I have to monitor their time on it. The only thing that stops them (other than me)is the sun shine which we are having in abundance at the moment.I must admit to having had a go myself but the kids go too fast and I can't keep up, great fun trying though.
