I'd been searching around for an affordable but decent wireless gaming headset for quite some time, and i found these more or less out of the blue, and thought i would give them a try. At a £120 price point, they are half the price of many wireless gaming headsets, with features only found in some of the top end ones, but the important thing is - how do they fare?First, the build quality. I have gone from owning a Soundblaster Recon3D Omega and Razer Man O'War, and i can say straight off, the build quality of these is far superior to either of those headsets. They are an all plastic construction, but it is a malleable plastic which can bend and twist without any risk of breaking. You can stretch the headband out almost straight without it breaking, which is very impressive. If i had one complaint it is that the earcups are connected to the headband by a relatively thin cable, and to remove the earcups, you have to pull them out from the notches, which i do worry could lead to accidentally breaking the cable if someone is heavy handed.Next, how comfortable are they? Well here's where i felt a little let down. Don't get me wrong, they aren't bad, but i found that there was very little difference in size between the three different "notches" you can set the earcups to, and in all three cases, the clamping pressure on the sides of my head is a little too great. Where the earcups are quite large, i found them placing pressure on the glands just behind my jawline which is a bit of an unpleasant sensation, but this is likely to be quite dependant on head shape/jawline. I also found that even on the largest setting, the suspension headband still rested against the plastic headband rather than suspending the headset, so perhaps i just have a large head. The foam ear cushions do not make my ears get hot and sweat like leather/leatherette ones tend to do, but even with their large size, the excessive clamping force meant that the tops/bottoms of my ears did feel a bit pinched at times, though the pinching was far less than on the Recon3D Omega. The headset is also incredibly light, so clamping pressure aside, it does not feel uncomfortable to wear for long periods of time.Next, the features. The headset is partially modular which means the earcups detatch so you can adjust the headset size and i believe the memory foam ear cushions are also detachable though i haven't tried doing that, and the suspension headband is also removable. The microphone is not detachable, but it does flip up out of the way, which mutes it and there is an audible beep in the headset to tell you when it has been muted. The audible notifications also extend to when you turn the headset on, with a voice telling you the headset is on, whether it is connected or not, and how much battery life is left. This is useful, although more granularity over the battery life would be nice, as "high", "medium" or "low" isn't overly indicative of how long the battery is likely to last. That being said, it took 10 days for the battery to go from high to low, with at least 2-3 hours use per day, so the claims of 24 hours battery life are not false and this is the best battery life of any headset I've used before. The headset also has and EQ button on the right earcup which switches between a few built in EQ settings, and three controls on the left earcup. an infinitely scrolling volume dial, which beeps if you get to maximum or minimum volume, a power switch, which also doubles as a pairing switch, and a mixer volume, which allows you to control the volume of two individual audio sources being fed into the headset, and that is by far my favourite feature. Yes, you can connect this headset to your PC via USB, and then you can connect the transceiver to another device via Optical (TOSlink). I have it connected to my TV, so i can watch TV and have the sound go into my headset rather than the TV speakers, but you could also use it in your PC to have an external voice chat program mixed in with game audio. These are all good, however there is a slight negative which is that where they are placed on the rear of the earcup, if you rest your head against something, ie a chair back, then it is possible to accidentally adjust the volume of the headset. and the volume mixer control can cause audio distortion if you adjust it too far onto one of the two sources, as you are essentially boosting that volume to 200%.Last but not least, the sound quality. Well, coming from the headsets i have used before, this is a difficult one to gauge. It sounds very different to my other headsets but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. Going from the Recon3D Omega, it can occasionally sound a bit bright, especially on voices but this is because the Recon3D Omega applied massive amounts of audio processing to the signal, adding surround and bass to everything, so much so that it gave voices a hit of LFE that probably shouldn't be there. It takes a bit of getting used to not having that, but essentially this headset is providing a more natural sound. The binaural sound in the headset is amazing though, sounds can easily sound like they come from several feet away, and small background noises in games such as a bird singing have such clarity that i'd swear they were new sounds that weren't in the game previously, and the overall clarity of sound is really excellent. The bass in the headset is also really great, managing to be punchy and also incredibly deep when required. The Recon3D was an incredibly bassy headset, and while the RIG 800HD does not apply bass to everything, the bass it does provide can actually be more powerful than on the Recon3D.The headset also comes with a code for Dolby Atmos for Headphones (Windows 10 only) which is an alternative to Windows Sonic for providing virtual 7.1 surround sound. Your mileage with the virtual surround sound will vary, but i found that anything on the left or right sounded very easy to pinpoint whether in front or behind, but it was difficult to distinguish between sounds directly in front or directly behind. There is a slight distinction in the reverb but not really enough for it to be a great surround sound headset. The headset displays as a 2.0 headset in Windows so it's not possible to adjust the 7.1 channel levels manually unless you buy a 3rd party intermediate like Spatial Soundcard. The headset is also capable of producing a very loud sound without distortion, though at full volume, the foam ear cushions do not provide much sound isolation. My wife was able to hear the headset from upstairs, so it's not one you'll be able to use full blast into the early hours unless you live alone. This also extends both ways, in that you will be able to hear what's going on around you even with the headset on, which can be a positive or negative depending on the individual.Overall, while it does have some drawbacks, the RIG 800HD manages to outdo more expensive headsets in many ways, and you're unlikely to be disappointed with the purchase. It has spectacular battery life, the flexibility to connect to more than one device simulateously, and decent sound quality, and an affordable price point.

I purchased a set from Amazon Warehouse deals for a hefty discount price but I honestly could not tell that these had ever been opened. They arrived in pristine condition, box sealed :) Bonus! I have been using my Hyper X Cloud II wired headset for a few years and they are indeed still going strong and are very comfortable. For the RIG headset I wanted to try out a wireless Dolby Atmos prepped headset and I am not disappointed. Stunning surround sound, a very comfortable and light weight headset with adjustable cups. There are volume switches and on/off switch on the left cup which are easily accessible, if at times, too accessible but that is a really minor niggle. The microphone is adjustable and makes my use of HCS Voice packs in Elite Dangerous a breeze. Even better than my Cloud II mic. I received a Dolby Atmos Code for headset as this usually costs £14.99 from MS Store so that is a nice touch. The battery life is excellent and never has been a problem to date. Easily charged on my Corsair Headset stand :) These are for PC only but there are other varieties for consoles, just be careful when selecting. In summary, excellent service by Amazon UK, great price for a premium Dolby Atmos 7.1 Wireless Gaming Headset.

After my Razer Kraken 2016 headset finally had to be put to rest I thought it was time for a change and I am so glad I did. This headset is not only a lot more comfortable but I dare say sounds a lot better as well. And this is coming from someone who has a lot of Razer products. Im not sure how accurately I can rate the wireless aspect of the headset as this is my first one ever but I have had absolutely zero problems, it connects straight away with ease, and has a very good range, I can walk from one end of my house to the other with it still connected via the USB receiver. The only reason this isn't getting a 5/5 rating is the mic, its a decent mic and does the job but my previous was a higher quality according to the people I talk to.Although it is perfectly fine to use for in game communications, just don't expect to do some video editing type voice over with it.TL;DR - Sounds fantastic, incredibly comfy, average mic quality. Would recommend!

It's a really good headset, wireless with great sound and battery life, very impressed and would buy again, also a very good price for what u get, I would liked to have given 5 stars for this, I've always used turtle beach headsets until someone recommended this one, this is a lot more durable and doesn't break like the tb ones did, when gaming online I found I could hear enemy's approaching from further away than with the tb headset which gave me a huge advantage, however the directional sound was slightly less accurate than with the tb, hence the 4 stars.Still absolutely great value money and u won't be disappointed :)

This headset is very sturdy and comfortable. The speaker and mic quality is fantastic. A full charge lasts at least 2 days. The wireless range is about 6 metres, and the sound quality remains the same until it cuts out when you go too far.Sadly plantronics don't include an optical audio cable which is needed for the game/ voip mixer, and you need to fiddle with the sound devices to get it working. Also don't wear these near an in use microwave unless you don't mind hearing a horrible crackling noise.

Very good headset, with good quality mic.Only minus points compared to my last headset are- it does not have separate channels for VOIP and Gaming/Applications- it can feel tight around the ears after a few hours- controls can be fiddled wit when putting on due to positions on the ear cans

Just wanted to say that I found the bass was distorting / cracking , but I turned the chat button (the top one) to the middle instead of all the way to PC sound, and the crackling and distortion disappeared- they sound great now!
