This is the best spiced rum we have ever had. It's so smooth you can enjoy it just on the rocks. Breath in take a sip, swallow and breath out as you enjoy the wonder flavour and smooth colourful aftertaste. Normally when you have a shot it burns a bit as the alcohol assaults your senses. Not with this beauty. Just a pleasant warming in your chest and mouth.If you haven't tried it yet please do. Any lover of rum would be delighted with this. I got this particular bottle for my boyfriend's birthday. I'm so happy he likes to share ha ha.On a side note the delivery guy actually bothered coming up the six flights of stairs to give it to me. He did his job well and asked for my ID which I thought was pretty funny as I'm 30 years old.

Not usually a rum drinker but I enjoyed the vanilla flovour of this either on it's own or in a long drink with coke or ginger beer over ice.I like that it comes from Mauritius, the home of the EXTREMELY rare Pink Pigeon after which it is named.The company donates to the Mauritian Wildlife Foundation supportng the rare and magnificient wildlife of Mauritius. It also uses Bourbon vanilla from the neighbouring island of Madagascar.Check out the pinkpigeonrum website.Rating of sheerness? If they are referring to it's delicate flavour I would give it 5 stars. It is not a matured rum for very smooth and light tasting drink.

This was an impulse “lightning deal” purchase (Amazon know how people feel on a Monday morning in work…) and it turned out to be a good one. So far, I hadn’t found a rum (affordable anyway) that tasted as nice as Kraken, but this is just as easy to drink (although quite different). It’s a lighter, golden coloured rum with a strong vanilla taste. It’s quite sweet but not sickly so. Nice enough to drink straight. Miles away from the likes of Captain Morgan or Sailor Jerry. I will be buying this again.

Brilliant rum! Had it in a fancy bar so wasn't sure I'd be able to buy it by the bottle so I was happy to see it on amazon, and with prime delivery! I was under the impression that there was a 'plain' and a 'vanilla' and had seen vanilla was more expensive so went for this one, but in fact this one is vanilla which is brill. If you mix it with coke it tastes like a vanilla milkshake which makes it very easy to drink. I'll probably order it again once I've finished this bottle haha!

The Rum snobs out there won't love this drink as it is strongly flavoured with vanilla which overpowers the other spices in the blend. That being said, this is a pleasant drink to consume neat or on ice. Add a dash of cola and a slice of lime, and you end up with a very nice beverage that almost tastes like a soft drink.I wouldn't pay full price for this rum (for a few quid more, you can get a bottle of diplomatico), but if it comes back on a lightening deal, I'll pick one up.

A nice quality golden rum with a pleasant soft taste and no harsh after taste. The vanilla notes are well balanced and is clearly a well made and balanced rum. Tried it straight as well as mixed with cola and would say it goes well both ways. If mixing it does loose alot of taste so don't over fill with mixer.Would definitely recommend for anyone who likes Captain Morgans and wants a drink a little less sweet.

I enjoy spiced rum and have tried quite a few different brands. Discovered this on a night out, and managed to find it here on Amazon. I have quite a collection at home and this forms part of it. Has a nice spiced taste with vanilla notes. More expensive than most spiced rums, so I only drink this now and again - not one for when the boys come round as they would enjoy it too much and drink it all!

Light gold/yellow in the glass, nose hints at a youngish rum. On the smoother side for a spiced rum. Initially lots of vanilla with the orange becoming more prominent as the glass fades. Could be mistakenly described as a light `vanilla/orange liqueur`. Can become overbearing if drunk neat. Overall, enjoyable, and this is more likely to be a mixing rum rather than a sipper.

I first tried this in a rum and coke at a fancy bar, absolutely loved it and was ecstatic to find it on amazon. For those with a sweet tooth you cant find a better rum to make the perfect rum and coke thanks to the sweet vanilla flavour however if you're drinking it straight there are better options, although i am yet to taste a better rum and coke.

This is the best rum I’ve ever tasted! It’s made in Mauritius, and so has a distinctive , yet subtle vanilla taste. It’s named after the rare, endemic pigeon of Mauritius, and I believe money generated goes towards their conservation. So you can drink it, knowing you’re doing something good for the world at the same time!

I tried this when I was in St Ives. It was the perfect nightcap after a wonderful meal. Drinking it at home was not the same the vanilla taste was stronger than I remembered. The girl behind the bar had said she liked it with coke which I completely agree with.Still a nice drink and I will have one occassionally.

I bought this for my husband's birthday as he really enjoys his rum. Delivery was very fast. My husband said that it was a really nice change to the rums he usually has because of the vanilla undertone. He said the vanilla flavour was subtle but very pleasant and he was very pleased with it. Would buy again

I bought this for my sister a just like me she likes nice rums. I actually found my way to this rum whilst in Mauritius and now i have my sister hooked too. It is a lovely rum with a wonderful fruity, floral spiced flavour and i can highly recommend this for any old enough to drink alcohol.

I ordered this Mauritian Rum after drinking it in a cocktail on holiday, its delicious. Only found one shop that stocked it but thats miles away so ordered it through Amazon.It was comparable price and easy to order, arrived super quickly and is almost half gone already!

If you like the sweeter side of spiced rum then you will love this!! I mixed this with diet coke and the aftertaste is exactly like a coke vanilla! Stands out compared to it's spiced rum competitors: Sailor Jerry, Morgan's Spiced, Red Leg, Rumbullion etc.
