Up until a couple of weeks ago, I had a bad relationship with tequila. The very thought of it would make me nauseous!I came across a YouTube video explaining how tequila is made and how there are many different types and flavours. It turns out that I’d only ever tried ‘Mixto’ tequilas which aren’t made with 100% Agave sugars. I decided to look for a reasonably priced 100% Agave tequila - This One.Make no mistake, the smell sent me straight back to those horrible memories of terrible hangovers caused by slamming cheap tequila with friends. It made me cringe. Then, I took a sip and wow! This is something else. It’s a really smooth drink with loads of flavour!I made a batch of margaritas with Cointreau, limes agave syrup and ice. I served them at a dinner party and they went down a storm!I’ve just ordered a third bottle of the stuff! This is a really great drink with beautiful artwork on the bottle. Can be sipped, used in cocktails and even slammed (although I think it’s too good for that). The price is really reasonable for the quality and I can’t find any faults! This is a top choice for me.

This is a seriously good silver tequila. Smooth, creamy, notes of vanilla and pepper, super tasty. My regular cheap benchmark is Olmeca Altos Plata but Espolon is undoubtedly smoother (and slightly higher proof). If you're looking at either at around the £25 mark Espolon easily wins. For the sake of a fiver between either of these and the next cheapest but decent 100% agave silver tequila (El Jimador for £20) go for Espalon or Olmeca Altos, they're a significant step up.

Hasnt tequila got expensive lately! Bottles i bought 12 months ago (so purchased summer 2018) were between £4 -£12 cheaper than now. Maybe it’s a shortage of agave plants? Maybe it’s becoming more popular (the new gin perchance?) or maybe it’s brexit - yes lets blame that.........anyway, this tequila. Well, it’s rather fab! Smooth , good flavour and makes a fab margarita! I so recommend this brand - in fact, it’s nearly worth the money!

I bought this to use as a base in Margaritas and it has proved to be excellent and great value for money. Usually bring back duty free tequila from abroad for this purpose but given the current lock down, found myself buying at home for the first time in ages. At what I paid (£28), I would say it is excellent value and certainly better value than the likes of Patron is selling for at UK prices right now.

Espolon makes some of the best value for money 100% agave tequila you can find for under £30. Tastes as good as some more expensive brands I've tried, if not better (yes, I'm looking at you Patron). Only a couple of quid more than Olmeca Altos (also good value) but a noticeable step up in flavour and smoothness.

This is a fantastic Reposado Tequila, and for circa £25 you wont find better.100% blue Weber agave, it’s lovely to sip neat or with some ice and makes a very pleasing margarita.Great bottle design too.If you need a ‘stock’ Reposado to make drinks for a gathering or party, then this is the answer.

Having tried quite a few different tequilas at this price point, I keep coming back to Espolon. It's a little sweeter than most others, and a lot smoother. Let it warm up to room temperature and don't let it oxidise in the bottle (tequila oxidises far faster than most other spirits).

Picked this up on a deal when it was under £20 so keep it on your watch lists and keep an eye on it.Tried a number of tequilas and this one is really not for shotting but for sipping. Really smooth, not harsh and to think I only bought it because I thought the label looked cool!

Not sure what “sheerness” means so no comment but what are these manufacturers trying to do; make us more alcoholic in COVID lockdown?A super easy to drink (neat) spirit. I think it’s too good for cocktails but is now my new favourite spirit albeit dangerous in my hands (glass!)

I amazed people with a blind test of this and none of them believed this smooth tasting drink was tequila. Most are used to the harsh 'whiskey face' and you can drink this neat without any facial contortions at all.Very worth a punt for those wanting a step into quality tequila

Tried this tequila when it was on offer for £20 and wish I'd bought more than one bottle. It is really smooth, not too "alcoholy" in taste and tastes delicious in a Mexican 75. Well recommended. I'll be buying it again over supermarket stocked tequilas.

We’re big tequila drinkers. Found this by looking at reviews, and we were not disappointed. Whimsical bottle design, fun and culturally appropriate for a Mexican spirit. Smooth on the palate, nice taste and great as a sipping quila.

Not quite as smooth as Patron but at half the price it’s close enough. Great value and perfect for margaritas. Started drinking this when I lived in the US so great that I can get it over here. Nice graphics on the label.

Not your premium brands like Don Julio 1942 but better than most … so either good cocktails or average shots. Your call. Personally I use it for shots … taste is good enough but i wouldn’t want to sip it like the DJ 1942

You like margaritas but don’t like tequila shots? This delicious tipple will politely inform you that only (expletive) tequila should be rushed. My margaritas are a new level and shots are not a forfeit thanks to this
