I've tried several led bulbs the last few years and results have been mixed. One of my earlier favorites was the 12,5w Philips (the yellow "alien head"). Although that was (is) a good bulb, it had its flaws. The light was a bit too yellow and you could see the dividing stripes when it was in a globe. This new improvement of the old yellow bulb fixes those flaws and makes it pretty close to perfect IMO.I put this bulb in a globe next to an incadescent and I couldn't see any difference in color or light spread. I use this bulb as an 40w incadescent replacement and have just ordered three 12w to replace some 60w incadescents. Only downside I can come up with is it's high price.

A little pricey but you get what you pay for. A reliable brand name. Their master range so it's the best quality from Philips and they are sturdy, well built and actually provide a good quality of light (unlike some cheaper LED bulbs). Very happy with mine. Energy saving, should last 15 years and come on instantly to full brightness unlike rubbish energy saving bulbs that take minutes to warm up and often I'd struggle around in poor light and be done in some rooms before they ever got to a decent light level.If you want the best LED bulbs, look no further.
