I have read a number of reviews about this game, and I must say that some are a little off putting, and so I bought this game with a little trepidation.Firstly, it is darts, it's not a third person shooter, you don't have to scale mountains and collect jewels with Lara Croft as you fight the baddies!! When people say that it's a little repetitive, well it is DARTS!! and after all darts is darts is darts. When you play on a real board whether in your garage or elsewhere, game after game is the same, because it is just darts.I do say though that it is a cracking good game. If you like darts and something with a very skillful control system that requires more than pointing and shooting then this will be right up your street!!I would have given this 5 stars but the create character is a little limited.I think that the wii controller will be the best control system for the dart throwing but I am still trying to work out how you can throw the dart in a good straight line. Instructions are a little vague on this. I will persevere as I know that it is not the fault of the controller, it's the way that I am using it that's the problem. but you will find that the first dozen or so attempts at hitting the board will result in your dart missing by a country mile!!If anyone can give me an idea of the correct way of throwing the dart, and you have sussed it out, please let me know. because my first attempts at it, were very embarrassing.Overall though this is a really good game, and well presented. If you play this well, the commentary is fine, but play it continually bad and Sid Waddell is just annoying.A game that you will need to practice, a real simulation.'Pure excitement, Pure pressure Pure darts........Game on'

Just had this game delivered and must admit I'm a little confused with some of the reviews that are posted on the internet, let's get something clear from the start we are not playing this on the PS3 and darts are darts so the chance of this becoming repetative are quite high if you don't like playing darts, you could say that it's a bit of a "Ronseal Moment"(does exactly what it says on the tin)The controls are pretty easy to get the hang of if you take your time and watch the dart on the left hand side of the screen to see if you are pulling your dart and if you are throwing this at the correct pace.So into the action and let's have a little game Vrs "Barney" in exhibition mode oh I'm the power by the way and suprisingly I only go down 3-2,not bad I thought so let's begin a career. Here is where the game is sadly lacking, no real depth and very few options but not worth getting to sad about, started at the US Open and blew away the first to guys 3-0(can't see it being that easy when the big boys drop in).Overall good game however some more attention to detail could of made this game great, can't understand why the entrance music is not the same as in real life and Sid Waddell is a living legend but his commentary is poor and unrelated to say the least, if its all licensed to the PDC let's see the whole show.Anyway this will keep me happy until July and the World Matchplay at Blackpool.

Despite the negative reviews on here, I want to say this game is superb, it is tricky to master, but thats more the challene right? what fun would it be to line the dart up and throw it any old how and score 180's nearly every time? admittedly you can pick it up quicker if have thrown a dart, as I do and within a hour had hit a 9 dart finish, however my 6 year old nephew played me and he picked it up quite well, and had no problem hitting the odd treble 20.Its just a case of being patient and understanding that the game is as realistic as it can get, u need a steady hand and steady arm to throw well, twisting and flinging the wii remote is guna make the dart not go where you want it,the same as a real dart, I personally would hate a game you can master in half hour, there'd be no point, if all you ever did is win, the career mode is adictive, its hard work, but is addictive and u soon get caught up in the excitement of playing darts. My advice, give it a chance, my first impressions was like, man this is hard, i dont like this, then all of a sudden 3 hours had passed and i was lovin itits easily a 5 star game and easily one of the most realistic games on the wii, a definate must buy for anyone, especially darts fans in my book!

This game has mixed reviews, which is a bit surprising. One thing is for sure it's a game for people who enjoy Darts. If you don't- don't buy it, it is not Wii Sports pick up and play. This is a Darts simulation- not an arcade game.I've played it and I enjoy doing so as do my mates but we like Darts. It is a challenge to learn to throw the dart right, first time I did it it was like what the heck? After I read the book and with about 5 or 6 practise games, I got the knack and was enjoying it, and the party games are good if you have sports fans pals. My Dad even enjoyed it! It is just darts however, not exactly going to be the most invigorating game play. The commentary as with most games,Wintersports / Tiger Woods, is poor, the intros aren't great and only 16 players, but the graphics are good, and choice of the camera angles is good too. If you are indifferent to darts or want pick up and play stick to Wii sports, but if you enjoy darts or want a challenge go for it.A tip for those struggling with the game- turn down the wiimotes sensitivity in the Darts options menu. It's up to about 90% by default, I find at 50% you get more consistency- indeed I can get an average 3 dart score is 122 now.

Lots of people seem to have had no patience with this game. However with a little bit of practice you can quickly work out how to throw the darts consistently. Persistence with the same grip is the key - I hold the controller with the buttons facing the right with my 4th finger on the A button and it works a treat. Have won 2 tournaments so far and am up to 6th in the world, however it took a while to figure it out. Have also had 2 9 darters. My only gripes are that the opposition averages are far too good (although once you get the hang they need to be good to avoid a pasting), and the second one that nobody seems to have picked up on is the fact that there is a bug with the game durations in the tournaments. In the LV Desert Classic for example, all rounds were best of 11 legs (first to 6) instead of becoming longer as the tournament progresses. Thats why I have done so well - I think I might struggle in a really long match but havent had the chance. That aside (and I believe a fix is on the way for this) it's great fun and really addictive, but do be patient because you wont master it within the first few hours - it will take a few days

I ended up really liking this game although so far I have only been able to play it on my own. The tournaments are very good and capture very well the atmosphere of a live darts game, the animations and 'cutting' of the sequences are very good although I found a few bugs (if you ever end up with 82 left, don't follow the checkout that comes up, because it comes to 80!)The controls I found took a little getting used to, but after a short while it was pretty easy. I can understand why some reviews slate the game on this though! I like the fact that the control is very similar to the throw of a real dart (although it's obviously a wii-mote.)To play by yourself would get very boring in a short space of time, but it's going to take me a while to get to the end of the Career mode so I'm going to be busy trying. To have the extra games such as Cricket and Killer, where multiple players can have a go at the same board is great, making this a fun party game with your mates. All in all, it might seem like a boring game, but in my opinion it's a great buy, especially if you're into darts already!

First thing - throw with the A button facing UPWARDS - do NOT hold the Wii remote the way Taylor is on the back of the box (Wii remote with A button facing to side).Second thing - make sure you have the wrist strap SECURELY on (my wifes' first throw would have been the end of the telly without the strap).Once you've got this worked out then the game becomes playable and the fun begins. There are a couple of problems, the game does not have a polished finish - there are annoyances when setting games up, no averages displayed at end of games, no mii, etc. - the second is the controls do take some getting used to (warning using the nunchuk is even more difficult)and can lead to some frustration if you don't get your darts regularly away.I can understand this having limited appeal to the non-darts player, however for those of us who enjoy a game of arrows then this is an essential Wii purchase.Playing in the 2-player mode has been good fun - particularly in recreating the darting tension when games are close.

i bought the game on release and i am well pleased with it.Lets be honest if the game was too easy then we would all be world champs within minutes and what fun would that be? Yes, the controls are tricky to start with but they are deadly accurate once you get the hang of them. If you keep your arm straight and let the button go smoothly (eg.without a jerk or snatch)then the arrows hit the target. I have hit 2 ten dart finishes in one tournement!! and still got knocked out in the 3rd round. The one niggle i have with it is sometimes you fail to let the dart go after releasing the `a` button, but this is only a minor glitch and it gets better with practise. The people who have slagged it off must be one's who like to complete games on the first attempt. This game has got some life in it and its great in 2 player mode. You even get the vibration on the remote when you are either on a finish or have hit treble 20 twice!! If you like the thought of having a laugh with a beer and few mates round then go buy it!

Simple...if you are a "pick up from the shelf and master the game straight away" gamer...don't buy this! You'll become easily frustrated and end up kicking the cat over into next door's garden! However, for the more laid back gamer, who slowly tries to get to grips with a game, it is a brilliant game. I bought it for my girlfriend and was a bit wary with all the reviews it had been given. At first, my worries became true but after a week of trying to learn just how to let go of the darn dart we finally made it. Now we are reaping the rewards with some very dramatic and amusing games. There is nothing like the feeling of your first 180, giving you such a buzz you feel like pulling your shirt over your head and running round the room (ok,maybe that's just me being sad). It becomes highly addictive and the graphics are amazing for a "wii" console. I'm not that great a darts fan either but thoroughly enjoy the game.Think the Hare and the Tortoise. With this game, the Tortoise will always win.

I have been looking forward for the release of this game for some time now. Initial thoughts are encouraging. Not too easy to get the hang of the throwing style, but not too hard so you give up trying. Same goes with nunchuk controls - keeping targets still is a challenge. The party games are fun and very interactive - though I must play different rules for round the clock - doubles n trebles don't seem to count on both games. The computer on career mode is a challenge. On first tournment at present, UK Open. Playing Gary Mann in first round (rank 62), am 7-2 down from best of 21 legs! He has checked out 161, 138 twice, 127, 134 n 128! 3 dart average of 108!Heavens knows how good Taylor n Van Barnie are when I play then!!!!!!

Just a quick review to say that I got this game the other day and the controls are FINE. I threw 180 with my first ever throw and 160 the next time.Since then, its been up and down, but it is mostly realistic. You cannot consistantly throw perfect shots - even the Pro's cannot. How I hold the controller, is to put it on the side, so the A button faces me, then I use my thumb to hold the A button.Another tip - people are complaining of the dart not always releasing. I think this is due to the wiimote pointing off screen. When you throw, try to keep your wrist straight, so the pointer is ALWAYS towards the screen (and not above the TV) and you should be fine.Great game!

First things first, your favorite darts stars didnt turn pro by not practising 8 hours a day, everyday. have a little patience, put in a little practice and this is the perfect darts simulator, perfect physics makes it this awesome fun! The only downside is that the whole feel of the game seems a little rushed, only three user players can be created, also no 'nicknames' can be entered in when creating yourself, surely a must have feature! that aside this is a great darts sim, if your a true darts fan you will love it, even if you dont master the throw at first.

I got this game last week, and quite frankly I haven't been able to play any other game as this is brilliant.Once you have got used to the controls and altered the sensitivity to your liking then this game IS as close to playing real Darts than anything else. All the well known players are in there, including the various tournaments.I can only assume those giving it negative reviews aren't giving the game enough time, or changing the sensitivity.A big recommend from me.

Received the game yesterday.Whilst it is a little difficult to throw the darts at first, you soon get the hang of it.The game appeals to all ages and skill levels. My husband who is keen darts player really enjoyed the game. My sons, both in their early 20's, who play darts occasionally also enjoyed the game.Excellent graphics, extremely realistic.Fantastic game. Just stick with it if you don't get the hang of how to throw the darts immediately.

I had the pleasure of being involved in testing this game and it is superb. There are not many games that use the wii remote to really mimick the real life actions but this is one. As expected there is all the pros in the game plus all the major tournaments inc a custom tournament mode for when you freinds are round.Trust me this is a must have game for the Wii
