Paw Patrol: On A Roll is a really fun game to play for children around the 4-8 age range. It has simple game mechanics - children will spend most of their time just using the left stick for direction and the X button to jump, easy controls to keep it fun and engaging for young children and less frustrating for parents who won't be asked to help them navigate an obstacle every 2 minutes, like other video games out there.The game is a 2D side-scroller featuring 16 different levels where you have to run along as one of the Paw Patrol characters in each and collect pup treats (bone-shaped dog biscuits) and each level also has 5 golden paw print medals to collect.

Pros: Simple and just turned 4 year old can play without constant need for help from me. Keeps her entertained and had lots of levels. She really enjoys playing on this and feels like a big girl getting to use the Xbox. Game prompts are clear (which buttons you need to press for certain activities such as push/pull are shown with pictures at the obstacle). Also you cannot “lose” if you press the wrong button it will just tell you to try again, which is great as my daughter is a sore loser and would have a melt down if it made her repeat a level.Possible cons for other people: All the levels seem the same to me. If you have a child that has played other platform games this may be too simple for them and they’ll get bored quickly,

The game is very simple and great for first timers.My twins are 3 and they where able to learn how to play little by little (they are allowed very short screen times). It really helps that it's a 2D game. All moves are simple and straightforward - run, jump, action, collection of goodies. Now and then little puzzles included. Visuals are beautiful and themes are relevant for young kids (I mean - paw patrol!).Now, for a 5-6 year old it would fit only if a kid is beginner. The tasks are very repetitive, even if the scenes change and animation makes you feel like it's a completely different episode.Overall: very good game to learn controller basics. Ideal if just starting out. PEGI3 is what it is.

My 3 year old is obsessed with the Xbox controller and paw patrol, so we picked this up just to see how she’d go with it. It’s really simple and has massively improved her hand eye coordination skills. She has to think about which button to press on certain parts. It only keeps her attention for one level at a time, but she is only 3 and still learning. Her first game and we have no regrets.Each level uses different pups depending on the mission, they collect pup treats along the way which earns them prizes. Each pup has 3 skills and at certain points they have to choose which skill is needed so it makes them think.

This is the perfect game to introduce little ones to a console. The instructions are given on screen every time, and you get prompted what to do by Ryder if your stuck. The actual controller is shown on screen with the button or stick dire tiona highlighted. Plus the controls are really simple, it's just the left stick and the 4 buttons.Simple gameplay, but perfect for the kids (4 & 3) who are already little paw patrol fans!!The kids love it, its the only game of quite a few of tried that they've really been able to master, and it's the only one the want to play now!

Bought this game to introduce my 4 year old to the PS4 and I'm pleasantly surprised that it turned out better than expected.The game is excellent for small kids to start learning and practising their skills with the PS4 controller, as the game mechanics are forgiving enough but still (slowly) increase the difficulty with each level.Another positive aspect of the game is that it's not time bound, ie, the player can stop to think or to repeat the same thing as many times as needed. Also, no violence... Wish I could find a couple more games just like this one.

We got a switch for my (just) 5 year old but he struggled a little with games like Mario kart, we were looking for something that would help him get used to the controls and was fun for him.He is a big paw patrol fan (aren't they all) so we gave this a go.The controls are really straight forward, the story line is simple but fun, it also talks you through which button to press as you play, he can pick this and play with no help at all from turning it on, playing and turning it off, really good game for his age range.

I brought this game for my sons 4th birthday as him and his older brother have a switch and he wasn't as good as his brother at most of the games we already have. I brought this and defineately would recommend for children that like paw patrol, he can play it very well and it gives you options throughout the game and tells you which button to press for each choice so it is also helping his knowledge of the controls for other games. He loves this game and doesn't need help like other games.

My daughter loves Paw Patrol. She want to play the Switch games with her older sister but she finds the controls too difficult and gets frustrated. This game is perfect for her. The controls are very simple, using one button and the joy stick. It is a simple old school platform game but but the game play is engaging and can be more challenge by trying to collect all the pup treats. It is a little repetitive but given she is happy to watch the same episode of Paw Patrol 1000 times its fine.

The game was purchased for my youngest Christmas present. Deliver was prompt and he has played this for a good couple of hours today. Good gameplay and enjoyable for a 5 year old. My 7 year old didn’t seem that impressed as the levels are straight forward and very easy. At the end of the day, it was £30 and we have bought youngest toys more than £30 that he didn’t play with as much so overall would recommend (if you can get them off it after an hour!)

I wasnt to sure what to expect from this but was pleasantly surprised. We just bought it as my two daughters aged 3 and 5 like paw patrol. Although it can only be played as a one player we sat down as a family to play, we took it in turns and loved it!!! Its really clear and abit slower than normal PlayStation games, meaning it's great for younger children to follow. Its just lile the program so great for any paw patrol fan. Iwould buy this again

So at this price, the game is very expensive for what it is. The gameplay is fairly good for young kids and our son understood what to do quite quickly. As the levels are mostly the same thing over and over he got bored quite quickly. The gameplay is quite good even if it is the repetitive, and the graphics are really good.This was bought for a 4 year old. It wont let me select that age group as it's a video game.

We purchased this last week ..The characters themselves don't speak which is a huge disappointment as that's what makes it so cute according to our 7 year old. Our 5 year old however is still into this and can't get enough.. I think it could have been so much better hence the 4 stars instead of 5. The gameplay is fun for the younger ones.It's very interactive with Ryder on the background though :) but still.

This is ideal for our children, 3 & 5, who are new to consoles. Our eldest picked it up immediately and the 3 year old took a couple of minutes of teaching but then is enjoying it and can sit and play it happily. There are times when they might need help (especially our youngest) on getting the golden paw prints, but it is perfect for them as it has the right level of challenge whilst being simple to play.

Girls love this game and very simple and easy to pick up. Move left-right across screen jumping and using skills to collect gold badges and pup treats before helping person/animal in need. Use all the pups incl tracker and Everest in different locations (jungle, snow, water, mountain etc). Def recommend for youngsters (my youngest is 4) who enjoy games but find some bit too complicated.
