I bought this game for PS3 mostly because I'm a huge MotoGP fan. I had bought this game for PC when it first came out but my PC is no longer able to cope with the game (it was a bit tenuous to begin with, my PC simply started running worse and became unable to continue running games) hence the decision to purchase it for PS3. This game is hands down better than any other MotoGP game I have played (08 and prior). The career mode is unlimited and superior to a lot of other career modes in other games (although team bosses have rather high expectations). The DLC packs (2012 Top Riders, MotoGP Champions, Red Bull Rookies)are great and the MGPC and RBR packs add a nice fresh element for those who are conifdent in their abilities or want to try something of a much more complacent pace. The online, although not bad is highly unspectacular. Their can be a lot of lag (due to your own connection or someone elses) and it can become a distraction. Additionally, the gameplay mechanics online seem to differ from offline play. For example, I can take a Tech 3 Yamaha around Assen a hundred times without crashing, yet in online play with the same settings it becomes hard to handle and I crash several times in a three lap race. This may just be me however and not translate to most other online users. Another negative of this game is that in offline play their can only be a maximum of 29 riders in each race, despite Moto3 and Moto2 having 33 and 32 riders respectively, not counting you're own rider. This means that some riders are not racing and, whilst mostly the riders that don't compete run at/near the back, its still a little disappointing. Also the qualifying pace and race pace of some riders is unrealistic. The two most notable examples I can think of are Moto3 riders Alan Techer on the TSR Honda and Jakub Kornfeil on the Kalex KTM. Both have top ten qualifying pace (unrealistic for Techer, slightly optimistic for Kornfeil) yet both fail to score ever in the races (realistic for Techer, uncommon for Kornfeil) which I personally feel takes away from the realism of the game. However, I still feel this is a great game and certainly worth a purchase if a bike racing game takes your fancy, or you're a MotoGP fan looking for an up to date version worth using.Read full review...
