Mouscedes King is one of the new Monster High Ghouls from the upcoming new movie Boo York, Boo York which is due out in the UK on the 19th of October. I have just ordered her as she looked brilliant on her product page and I have not been disappointed. I've got the DVD on pre-order (we love Monster High in our house) and I can't wait to see it when it releases as it looks like it is going to be another brilliant movie. Not much is known about the film yet other than from the trailers it would seem that Cleo invites all of her Ghoulfriends to Boo York with her and her family as they are going there to attend a big Gala to celebrate the return of a magical comet. When the comet arrives so does a new character Astranova and it would appear that Nefera (Cleo's sister) has a plan to use the power of the comet for no good.Mouscedes is the daughter of the Rat King and is from the Upper Beast Side of New York. Her face is really pretty and I love her little rat teeth and nose like her character and I have attached some pictures to my review to show this. Mouscedes obviously has rat ears and they have been really nicely done with little crystal style earrings hanging from each one and a shiny metal effect crown on her head which has a comb part so you can still attach it to her head when you remove the plastic packing holding it on. There is so much attention to detail on her such as the little hair effect parts on her arms and legs, her teeth, crown, nose, wings, dress, belt and shoes (her shoes are beautifully done) and I love this new addition to my collection. Her shoes are in a grey crystal design and have holes in them like cheese which is a theme repeated with her shoulder piece and crown and her shoes also have little bit marks in them. Her dress is beautiful and is a sort of pleather material on the top with gold spots and shiny dress skirt with crystal and mouse skull designs on with a black netting piece underneath. She also has a crystal belt that is removable and a big long pink tail. The Mouscedes doll stands at approx 25cm tall including her ears which makes her one of the shorter Monster High Dolls (along with Twyla and River Styxx) as the normal height is around 26.5/27cm for the other dolls. Mouscedes comes with a silver doll stand and hairbrush. As normal her arms, elbows, wrists, head, hips and knees are jointed and so fully poseable. Her skin colour is grey but this has a slight crystal shine to it along with the other Boo York dolls and her hair is a gorgeous candy pink with darker pink streaks in it.She comes with a passport diary (I've attached a copy of the front page) that say's "What kind of rat would read someone else's diary? Don't be that monster!" on the front. The diary is once again very disappointing for a Monster High diary and the last few ranges of dolls diaries have all been the same as other than two pages, the other 8 pages are the same thing repeated in different languages.Mouscedes is 15 years old and originates from Boo York as her father is the Rat King and she is basically royalty in Boo York. She is a rat with a difference in that she is lactose intolerant and cannot eat cheese. She is spoiled and pampered but underneath it all she is really lovely and has a heart of gold but she does have high standards with being a Princess. She also loves dancing. Her best friends are Elle Eedee and Mouscedes King. This doll is really pretty and if you or your child are a fan of Monster High then this will make a brilliant addition to your/their collection. I'm looking forward to the new movie when it releases. In addition to collecting the Monster High and Ever After High dolls myself, I also tend to buy a lot of them from Amazon as you will see from my reviews and verified purchases as gifts for my three MH and EAH mad nieces and so I am sure I will be buying a few of the Boo York and Mouscedes dolls before Christmas too as having seen her 'in the flesh' she is a definite future purchase doll.

Luna is a gorgeous gothy doll from the Monster High range designed thoughtfully and exquisitely with attention to detail and conceptual design of moths and insects including posable and removable wings. I attach pictures to help illustrate this reviewLuna is a new character in the upcoming Boo York Boo York musical and is the daughter of the Mothman inspiring her look.Luna is a regular sized doll but with an amazing level given to her body; the insect theme is applied by a raised exoskeleton pattern over her torso, arms and legs despite the fact you won't see much of this unless you undress the doll. Her skin is a soft luminescent yellow like the glow of fireflies or a distant candle with a slight sheen on the body and a touch of white glitter particles on the face. These tie in the 'moth to a flame' adage as part of her design.Luna has a very wide eyed face sculpt with extra attention given to the face up as her eyes are Huge and the pupils are designed to look like 'bug-eyes' with a geometric mesh inside the pupils and a red iris. Her eyes are so large compared to other characters in this theme that they look almost manga-esque next to says the sultry eyes of Nefera or the feline almonds of Catty. Her makeup is beautifully gothic in shades of black. Her face up is decidedly sweeter and more innocent than her concept art on the box and she looks as if caught whilst bemused but can't laugh out loud which adds much character to the doll. Her hair is following the Black and red theme with long black hair with a wide slice of red in high bunches that are densely rooted at the partings but less so in the area between so the bunches aren't 'bulky'. Her hair was ratty out the box and some strands had missed the bunches which would displease collectors but overall she's not on bad shape and a quick redressing and brushing and she's perfect. Her outfit is where she really gives value for money as she effectively has 2 outfits for the price of one. There is the beautiful red shimmery corset with wide draping skirts that resemble moths wings in pattern. Underneath this is a black mesh capelet covering the shoulders and décolletage and a full length shimmering black strapless bodysuit enclosing the toes. she looks fab in either the full ensemble or the catsuit and Cape, just be careful refitting the catsuit if clothes-swapping as we had some boob slippage if not fastened 'just right', a little halter neck strap would have gone a long way here.Unlike the other dolls in this range, Luna doesn't come with a metallic armour-like dress piece, instead she has a headpiece in lieu of tiara and earrings as it is attached via her ear piercings- this is amazing (very Queen Amidala) and guarantees it stays on even if you removed the plastic ties! However, as Barbie collectors will warn- beware doll earrings with a metallic finish, they can stain the 'skin' and there is slight evidence of this on my Luna. The doll and outfit is brilliantly designed to enable a full range of poses and motion making her a fab doll for display collectors and those that like to tell photo or video stories, she can not only sit in her outfit but do a back bend!Overall Luna is amazing, I coveted Nefera but Luna is really a truly exquisite doll with the thought and effort in the design features even invisible from the PR photos and would make a lovely addition to anyone's collection.

Overall this is a darling little addition to the Monster High range, but collectors should be aware there might be some faults in the leg mold. A very sweet and fashion conscious design with lots of thoughtful little details, this is more subtle in theme and less 'dark' or macabre than some other offerings in the range. I attach pictures to help illustrate.Mouscedes King is the daughter of the Rat King from the Nutcracker and as she is 15 years old is based on the 'Little sister' body which is wider and flatter in the torso and with shorter arms and shorter shapelier legs. Her forehead pretty much comes up to Catty's Chin.Regardless of the age of the character I think it suits the rodent nature of Mouscedes being smaller than other dolls. Her skin is a bluish grey with an iridescent sheen, her limbs are a shinier plastic whilst her face is more matte and the iridescence is more like glitter particles than a blended finish within the plastic. She has the Howleen 'claws' hand mold which don't look as intimidating with her overall style. Her ankles and wrists have the extra feature of fur molded to add texture and remind of the furry nature of rats this shows how much thought has gone into the design. However I had significant faults in the leg with indications of poor casting in both inner calves and untrimmed extra plastic at the seam at the top of the left thigh. If I were a collector or display collector I would be pretty disappointed. She has a thin pink plastic inflexible tail that is posed like Catty's by turning the whole tail and she has big grey and pink mouse ears that are pierced with a grey crystal drop earring. Her face is very sweet, it has a very wide shape reminiscent of the Ever After High dolls. Her pink eyes are accented by baby blue eyeshadow and she has pink detailing and 'whisker' freckles around her mouth which has buck teeth like a rodent and are glossed in a baby pink. The overall face is much more innocent and young looking compared to the artwork on the box.Her cotton candy and raspberry pink hair is set in a curled at the bottom style with a sweeping side part at the front and a cotton tied 'curl'. It was a disappointment personally, I had a massive snag that had been misplaced by the rooting process and so had to cut the knot of glued hair from the head. whilst densely rooted, the hair was very course and frizzy. This will need a boiling for most collectors who debox! Her dress has a rubbery gold spots on black halter top with an asymmetric hem dress in a gold with a metallic gold geometric print over the top and a black fine mesh net underneath (be careful deboxing as a tiny but sharp plastic tie is embedded in the mesh)Her accessories are a hard plastic teal crystal tiara that sadly only sits if you leave the plastic ties on, a matching belt with crystals dripping down the dress and a dark grey shoulder adornment reminiscent of battle armour with wings. Her shoes are dark grey with a rat skull on the front and are soft plastic split at the back to slip off. They do not fit any normal sized doll and viceversa.Overall this is such a cute little doll, much more 'sweet' and dare I say 'mainstream' than some others in the monsters high collection, I can forgive the quality control issues as ultimately my Mouscedes is destined to be played with, a collector may not be as happy.

Elle Eedee is one of the new Monster High Ghouls from the upcoming new movie Boo York, Boo York which is due out in the UK on the 19th of October. I have just bought her as she looked brilliant on her product page and I have not been disappointed. I've got the DVD on pre-order (we love Monster High in our house) and I can't wait to see it when it releases as it looks like it is going to be another brilliant movie. Her eyes are amazing and actually are done in a focus lens style and I have attached some pictures to my review to show this. Elle is obviously made in the style of a robot and the attention to detail on making her face and body look like a robot (looks like metal plates, screws etc over her body and face) are brilliant and I especially like the screw designs on her joints, power button in the middle of her face and her ears are in the style of speakers! She has a satellite design hairpiece that also looks like little crystals are attached to it and the crystal detail is repeated on her see-through shoes and earrings too. Her metal overskirt piece is removable and so is her dress, shoes, earrings etc. The cape is actually attached to her dress and is in a see-through fabric with electrical circuit designs all over. She is mainly in purple and turquoise colours and is really beautifully made and definitely one of my favourite dolls so far.The Elle Eedee doll stands at approx 27cm tall excluding her hairpiece which is about the average height for one of the girl dolls. Elle comes with a silver doll stand and hairbrush. As normal her arms, elbows, wrists, head, hips and knees are jointed and so fully poseable. Her skin colour is a metallic grey and has a slight shine to it and her hair is black with purple and turquoise streaks. She comes with a passport diary (I've attached a photo of the front page) that say's "My diary has the required anti-hacking protection: the word "please"" on the front. The diary is once again very disappointing for a Monster High diary and the last few ranges of dolls diaries have all been the same as other than two pages, the other 8 pages are the same thing repeated in different languages.Elle is 16 years old and wants to be a DJ. She loves composing new music but due to a flaw in her system she can't dance too much as her system ends up blowing a fuse and so she tends to stay behind her turntables or do the one dance that doesn't overheat her systems - The Robot! She likes clean lines and shiny metallic fashion. She currently building her own pet but it isn't finished. Her best friends are Luna Mothews and Mouscedes King. This doll truly is gorgeous and beautifully designed. If you or your child are a fan of Monster High then this will make a brilliant addition to your/their collection. I'm looking forward to the new movie when it releases.

The Boo York City Operetta doll is from the upcoming new movie Boo York, Boo York which is due out in the UK on the 19th of October. We love Monster High in our house and I've got the DVD on pre-order which I can't wait to see when it releases as it looks like it is going to be another brilliant movie. Not much is known about the film yet other than from the trailers it would seem that Cleo invites all of her Ghoulfriends to Boo York with her and her family as they are going there to attend a big Gala to celebrate the return of a magical comet. When the comet arrives so does a new character Astranova and it would appear that Nefera (Cleo's sister)has a plan to use the power of the comet for no good. With each of the doll ranges from Monster High when they come out (Haunted, Freaky Fusion, 13 Wishes etc) there are always the more detailed dolls and then Mattel always release a few more basic dolls and this Operatta doll falls into the basic doll range but that isn't to say that isn't a beautiful doll as she is (and especially the attention that has been made to recreate her music signs on her face and arms) but she hasn't as much detail in her clothing and accessories as some of the other dolls from the range and also do be aware that she doesn't come with a doll stand, hairbrush or diary.Operetta is the daughter of The Phantom of the Opera and she is 16 years old in Phantom years. She is another of my favourite characters from the webisodes and I love her southern drawl. Operetta has a beauty mark that starts on her face and goes down her arm into a tattoo with music notes on and her doll has had this beautifully recreated. Operetta is a bit of a diva and loves music and singing. She also has a pet spider called Memphis "Daddy O" Longlegs". Her doll is beautiful and is dressed in a red top and skirt which has cobwebs and skull patterns in among splashes of paint. Instead of her normal heart eye piece she instead has glasses with a crystal design on them and a long music note which covers over some of her beauty mark. Her shoes are in a purple crystal design and her bag is circular with a spider and spiderweb design on it. Her bag does actually open and her clothes are removable. The doll stands at approx 27cm, is very beautifully done and is a lovely addition to the rest of the Boo York doll range but she is one of the more basic models and doesn't come with a diary, hairbrush or doll stand, however if you know this in advance then there shouldn't be any disappointment. In addition to collecting the Monster High and Ever After High dolls myself, I also tend to buy a lot of them from Amazon (as you will see from my reviews and verified purchases) as gifts for my three MH and EAH mad nieces and so I am sure I will be buying a few of the Boo York and Operetta dolls before Christmas too as having seen her 'in the flesh' she is a definite future purchase doll. If you or your child are a fan of Monster High then this will make a brilliant addition to your/their collection. I'm looking forward to the new movie when it releases.

Her eyes are amazing and actually have little hexagonal patterns in them just like an insects eyes and I have attached some pictures to my review to show this. Luna has wings which can be dis-attached but the really cool thing is that they actually move together so they can flap if your child wants to move them. Luna obviously has antennae but she also has a massive golden headpiece that when you look closely is a moth's head and wings. There is so much attention to detail on her such as the insect detail on her body, her eyes, headpiece, wings, shiny jumpsuit and shoes (her shoes are beautifully done) that I would have to say she is one of the most detailed Monster High dolls I have seen. The Luna Motthews doll stands at approx 26.5cm tall excluding her headpiece which is about the average height for one of the girl dolls. Luna comes with a silver doll stand and hairbrush. As normal her arms, elbows, wrists, head, hips and knees are jointed and so fully poseable. Her skin colour is a shiny light yellow colour and her hair is black with red streaks. She comes with a passport diary (I've attached a copy of the front page) that say's "My antennae senses when my diary is opened by a pest!" on the front. The diary is once again very disappointing for a Monster High diary and the last few ranges of dolls diaries have all been the same as other than two pages, the other 8 pages are the same thing repeated in different languages.Luna is 16 years old and like a moth to a flame is attracted to stardom and dreams of being a star. She loves to sing, dance and do anything theatrical. Her favourite colours are darks colours with bright colours thrown in. She is kind and will go out of her way to help a friend. Her best friends are Elle Eedee and Mouscedes King. This doll truly is beautiful and if you or your child are a fan of Monster High then this will make a brilliant addition to your/their collection. I'm looking forward to the new movie when it releases.

This is Draculaura, just one of a wide range of Monster High dolls. She is one of the characters featured in the 2015 Monster High movie DVD Boo York, Boo York, so she is a doll to promote the DVD film really. Draculaura (daughter of Dracula), she has black and pink hair and fangs! This version of Draculaura has a pink love heart on her cheek and she is wearing a dress featuring bloody bones, a fanged mouth with pink and red lips, as well as red love hearts. The dress has shiny silver trims on the shoulders and a shiny silver over skirt, with what I presume is meant to be a New York (Boo York) skyline cut out design round the edge. She has grey removable shoes that look like winged stone gargoyles or maybe bats (I'll leave that to personal imagination to decide which, but I air on the side that they are winged stone gargoyles). She comes with a pink bag accessory that is in the shape of lips, which clips open and closed. She also has a dusky grey pair of sunglasses resting on her head, that are also sort of mouth shaped. She cannot stand on her own, but is jointed, at the neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips and knees, so she is posable for play or for a doll stand if you are a collector who takes them out of the box.The only issue I have is that she doesn't come with a brush to brush her hair, so you'll have to get one from another doll set that has them (if you have Barbie doll brushes or combs, they are fine too and my daughter has plenty from her various Bratz dolls too). She is a nice doll if your child likes this range, but I personally find others are more appealing in design to this one, but she gets played with alongside the Bratz and Barbies all the same.Age recommendation on the box is for 6 plus. Obviously small parts inside could be a potential choking hazard, so there is also a warning that it is not suitable at all for children younger than 3 years old.I find that the packaging on this doll is quite wasteful, as half the box size is taken up with just "Boo York" promotional design labeling and the rest is just empty space inside, very wasteful and unnecessary, as the doll itself easily fits in less than half the box! Come on Mattel, please be more environmentally responsible and package accordingly!

Mouscedes is a really adorable little creation, and well worth adding to any Monster High collection. She is one of the smaller dolls, with very tiny fragile arms and hands, so perhaps not recommended for younger children. But for older ones and collectors she is definitely a must. Her hair is really nicely done, with a sweet kiss curl, but this raises a minor problem; she has a little tiara which is attached in the packaging with a strand of plastic. Once the fastening is removed it is very difficult to put the tiara back on and keep i there without messing up her hairstyle. I did manage to get it to stay on by lifting the curl out of the way and carefully sliding the arms of the tiara under a couple of strands of the hair behind it.The rest of her outfit is lovely. Her flouncy gown has a black bodice with gold motifs; the skirt is a bright gold fabric embellished with motifs that match her earrings, shoes and bodice and with a net underskirt. Her earrings are a bit drab but she has a rather nice collar piece, a belt that matches her tiara, and the usual shoes with a rat head motif. Her head is very posable and she has a really cute face, with mouse ears. She has little freckles like mouse whisker follicles, and a dainty dash of pink on the tip of her nose. Her hands are small and delicate, and you can make some excellent poses but need to be careful not to break them or the arms. There are 'fur' markings on her arms and legs. Her tail is adorable too, but does show an annoying tendency to fall off (we may resort to a spot of blu-tack concealed under the skirt). The stand and brush are the same as the other Boo York dolls, silver and blingy, and her diary is urban graffiti styled (but a different colour scheme to Luna's, I noticed). The box is another eye-catching and attractive design, and looks good lined up with other Boo York ones on a shelf. The only things that stop her getting five stars are the too-easily detached tail and tiara, and the seriously fragile hands and arms.

Overall this is a pretty Operetta doll perfect for play but for fans it doesn't really capture the character of Operetta as a Rockabilly daughter of the Phantom of the Opera. Collectors please note she does not come with a stand or diary, I borrowed a stand for the pics.Operetta is cast in a soft lilac with embossed swirls and spider webs as her Phantom marks on her left hand side of her face, neck and upper torso with her red and black tattoo down her left arm. I was unfortunate to get some excess plastic on her calves from the mould but otherwise she is well made. Her face is stunning. Her face sculpt is very angular with deep set eyes and sharp cheek and jawbones. Her face up is gorgeous with cherry red lips, beauty spot, gorgeous purple eyeshadow with glitter gold shimmer on the lower lash line and up to the brow. However this doesn't tally with the artwork for Operetta in Boo York which uses a yellow eyeshadow. Her perfectly streaked black and red hair is simply styled in a high pony tail with a pompadour set back from the hairline to accommodate her sunglasses to act like a hairband. Whilst sleek and a slight nod to the Rockabilly, it is odd to see her without victory rolls or curls but nice to see dense rooting.Operetta's outfit is SATC sleek with a graffiti print mini wiggle skirt and a red lamé cap sleeve tshirt which fits the movie but not the character, why not pedal pushers or a mini poodle skirt in the same print? Regardless its a exquisitely made 2piece outfit and a good copy of the artwork so can't be criticised too much. The accessories are purple lace up platforms with a Mary Jane detail, a grey handbag that opens with skulls on it and purple sunglasses that replicate the mask accessories usually with Operetta. Her posability is excellent with full range of mobility with her outfit and 11 points of articulation.Overall, she is a lovely budget play doll but may be disappointing for die-hard Operetta fans or collectors.

This should have been a 5 star review but I'm deducting a star for the following reasons, this is a European version of the doll which means the diary is written entirely in French, the only English words are 'Monster High' and 'Mouscedes King', that's it. I am disappointed as I like to read and keep the diaries on all of my dolls but I can't read French! This has become a common occurrence here on Amazon, I've previously purchased Monster High and Ever After High dolls from here which are European and experienced exactly the same problem. This seems to be the case on the cheap dolls, if they are less than £15 than chances are they are foreign. I was fortunate to buy Mouscedes for £9.97 which is a fantastic deal,in my local toy shop she retails for £25 which is awfully expensive. My glee over the price kind of cancels out my disappointment over the diary although I do wish Amazon would highlight this in the notes. One other thing that annoys me is there is no matching handbag/purse, all the other Monster High dolls come with a bag but not Mouscedes or Elle ee Dee who I also own, can't speak for for Luna Mothews as I've not seen her. As they are dressed for the big gala which is shown at the end of the 'Boo York Boo York' movie it would stand to reason they would have purses to match their outfits but they don't. They only come with a hairbrush, stand, and a diary i can't read. I feel a bit let down, the dolls are more expensive than ever and they come with few extras, I feel like Mattel are trying to rip us off.Mouscedes herself is exquisite, she has definitely become one of my favourites already. I love her cute little buck teeth and candy floss coloured hair. She is the daughter of the Rat King but unusually for a rat, she is lactose intolerant so don't give her any cheese! She is shorter than the others, same height as Twyla and Howleen. She is a lovely doll and if you can find a cheap deal like I did, go for it!

The first thing I should warn anyone buying this, do not tell the child it is for because you will be inundated with requests of where it is, when will it arrive, and so on. I have come up with a sort of remedy for this, by doing my Sinatra impersonation and singing Boo York, Boo York, instead of the original words. In celebration of the new musical Boo York, which soon comes out on DVD we have this new Draculaura doll. At 1600 years old, Draculaura is Dracula’s daughter (by vampirism), but she is a bit of an oddity for a vampire, as she is a vegan, although she still has fangs. Coming in a new costume here with a sort of metallic effect over-skirt she also has other accessories. You will more than likely have to remove the doll from the packaging for a little one, as it can be quite fiddly due to the very secure nature by which it is enclosed in the box. After removing the packaging you will see that although she has sunglasses on her head these can be removed and put over her eyes. The bag she has also can be opened, and her dress and stilettos can be removed which is always a positive. The dress has a Velcro fastening at the rear making it nice and easy to pull off. Another good thing about this is that it stands by itself, showing the quality of this. With moving joints this is fully poseable which should make your little girl very happy. This is the first time we have got one of these Monster High dolls and I must say that we are all very pleased with the quality and playability of this, and now we will probably have to buy some more.Any girl should be more than pleased with this and I should think it will find its way on many Christmas lists, which when you consider as I write this, isn’t that far away.

Elle Eedee (pronounced LED) is the daughter of the Robots - and her face is very cleverly crafted to keep her looking stunning, whilst incorporating 'Transformers' styling. She loves shiny metallics and fashion, and tbh, my first thought when I saw her is that she looks a little bit like the singer-turned-fashion-designer with the initials VB!. Again, she's one of the new series of MH dolls who will appear in the new Boo York, Boo York upcoming movie and DVD, due out in autumn. The doll is stunning, with the 'waterfall' rear of her dress that looks as if a sari bit has been draped over her shoulder. The image on the website seems to show her dress as alternately blue and purple,so it's worth clarifying that the dress is a loud, bright, metallic purple, with an overskirt made of silver, The front of the dress has a black panel with dots in different shades of blue and green, matching her 'waterfall'. It's fashionable and cutting edge, giving her a glamorous rock-chick look. Her shoes are pretty enough, but not the most elaborate or stunning in the range, but perhaps that's deliberate so as not to draw attention away from her dress. The overskirt is removable and made of sturdy enough plastic that small, impatient hands shouldn't be able to damage it.The attention to detail is amazing, which is reflected in the price, as this is one of the more expensive dolls in the MH range (partly due to how new it is, of course). As per usual, this doll comes with a stand (silver), a diary and a hairbrush. The only downside to this doll is that once again, the plastic used in the packaging has incredibly sharp edges once cut open (though the sturdiness protects the doll), and will need a grown-up's help.

I have to admit that I believe these dolls look better in the flesh, or should that be plastic, than they do in Amazon photographs at the top of the page.Ella owes her unique skin and fashion taste to the fact that she is a child of robots. The designs on her “skin” are meant to give the doll a robot feel though they don’t appear to have been noticed by the Barbie player in the house. One interesting “side effect” on a friend of the dolly player – I have a number of scars, some of which are very prominent, and the little girl has always stared at the visible scars (she seems fascinated by them). Since getting this doll the young player has stared less and less at the human scars and now started asking questions. She is a very shy child and doesn’t talk much to adults but over the last few days she has been very chatty – such a nice change and I have discovered that she is a deep thinker.Elle is a lovely little doll and I love the deep blue-purple hair with its light electric blue streaks.Being a young lady of fashion she has coordinated her dress with her hair, and because she is a cleaver young doll she has broken up what could have been overwhelmingly dark with a silver frame overskirt.Elle comes with a stand so that she can have extra support to keep upright after a long night on the dance floor or studying with friends, as she will probably tell her parents.I admit that I was unsure about “monster” dolls when I first heard about them about 4 or 5 years ago, though in retrospect I am unsure why as I was (and still am) a lover of the old monster movies so these would have been right up my street.Elle Eedee is a welcome addition to the house’s growing doll family.

Luna Mothews is the daughter of the Moth Man. She loves all things bright, shiny, so Boo York is the town for her. That seems to be the new setting for the upcoming movie and DVD, due out in autumn. The doll is stunning, though her colouring is more like a jaundiced shimmery yellow than the translucent ivory shade in the advert pages - that's not a complaint, though, as it makes her look more exotic. My version's hair has a lot more of the dark red streaks that show on the ad page on the fringe included in her hair at the back of her head, which is a bonus. Her outfit is truly stunning, one of the prettiest I've seen, with the shimmery, see-through middle, indicative of a moth's gossamer wings at night. It also reminds me of a flamenco dancer's. Her wings and tiara are pleasingly sturdy and of a plastic that I think will survive small, impatient hands that'll want to make them move. The actual tiara, looking downwards, comprises antennas, and looks like the silhouette of a moth. I'd say that her look is very Goth, which suits the moth aspect of her heritage and her general colour scheme. The attention to detail is amazing, which is reflected in the price, as this is one of the more expensive dolls in the MH range (partly due to how new it is, of course). As per usual, this doll comes with a stand (silver), a diary and a hairbrush. The only downside to this doll is that once again, the plastic used in the packaging has incredibly sharp edges once cut open (though the sturdiness protects the doll), and will need a grown-up's help. Also, her dress is fastened into the rear packaging and will need slow and careful handling to detach it without tearing the fabric.

My daughter and I fell in love with this doll at first sight. The Monster High boxes are usually well designed and attractive, but this was especially bright and blingy, with the iconic Boo York skyscraper image standing out. We did have a bit more trouble getting her out than normal, because her dress is fastened down and we did not want to damage the gauzy fabric. But with care she came free. The doll is beautifully designed. Her hair is black with red highlights which look very good, and she has little antennae. She also has ears, which at first we didn't notice. Her only fashion accessory is her tiara, but it is very nice. Her face is quite lovely, and her eyes have multifaceted pupils which fit well with the moth theme. She has small plastic wings which can fold down but which don't appear to be meant to come off completely. Her costume is my favourite of any of the Monster High dolls (except possibly the special edition Draculaura). The dress has lovely billowing moth wings, over leggings which for once are quite easy to remove and replace. The outfit is finished by adorable moth motif footwear which is a cross between boots and strappy sandals. As always she comes with a stand (in this case, silver and blingy), a silver brush, and a diary with an urban graffiti style cover which gives a bit of background info and some amusing character comments. Mothman is one of my favourite mystery creatures, so I was delighted to find how imaginatively they have used it in this doll design: and my daughter adores her without needing to know about Mothman.
