If you have a Monster High fan in your house, I'm sure this will be a huge hit as the doll itself is beautifully made and it is quite different from the usual hot pink doll offerings on the market. The positives of this doll:1. Her hair is a wonderful blend of different blues and purple and it is easier to comb than other dolls my girls have had - it really is stunning2. Her skin has a wonderful iridescent sheen, as does her mermaid tail under the silver net-look skirt and she does look like a fashionable ghost-mermaid3. The flexibility of her arms is good and her hands are rubbery webbed hands, which are on a hinge-like joint, so are the most flexible doll hands I've every come across#4.The yellow brush is skull-themed, which obviously works with the theme.1.You can't really change her clothes - my children take great delight in swapping around the clothes on their various dolls, but as the net skirt and her tail are all fixed, you would only be able to change her top, which you can, but it's not the same and it's clearly not really designed for that sort of play2. She looks a little like a doll to look at and not touch - her beautiful plaits and curly locks, although soft now, probably turn into the usual frizz of such dolls over time, but it isn't just that - she has been designed to be posed rather than played with.3. The diary, although a nice addition in terms of getting to know the doll, is just a few pages of a pamphlet, which for the money these dolls cost, could perhaps be a little more substantial.4. Her tail is an interesting way to prop her up with the absence of feet (which actually don't work with standard Barbie like dolls!), but she does fall over a lot (maybe with practice there will be a knack to it), but my girls don't have the patience at the moment to master that!5. She has one stud and one dangly earring - the dangly one pulls out quite easily, and so could be easily lost - the necklace is also removable, so this is probably a design feature - but again, without the ability to change her outfit, this is really just a token of "dress up" gamesOverall a lovely, well made doll - but more to look at than to play with and perhaps a doll for an older child - younger children might find her a little ghoulish!

Sirena is gorgeous!! She makes a lovely companion for my Lagoona.Ever since the Freaky Fusions new monsters were announced, I was in love with Sirena's dreamy, soft colour and slender, elegant looks; she's a perfect mix of wispy ghost and pretty mermaid from the deep! As with all Monster Highs do not be fooled by the perfectly salon ringlets in the stock photos - all the dolls arrive new in box looking like they've gone ten rounds with a hedge. However the beautiful fusions of lavender and Lapis Lazuli in Sirena's hair makes up for the conditioning and combing I'll need to give it later. It's very soft too, and her styled-stiff quiff at the front makes me laugh! She shares similar gill-like ears (very cute)and arm fins as Lagoona; they really could be sisters! But there are just a couple of negatives: Sirena's tail is a bit of a pain in the behind. It's very stiff, and if you're trying to put her into 'standing' mode (the tail is hinged and actually fans out either way, providing a base) some forcing/wrenching will be required. This, combined with her being a child's toy and made of flimsy plastic, is not a good recipe. I'm an adult collector with patience and gentle hands and even I found it a task. 2 things also disappointed me: the first is that Sirena cannot sit. She is hinged at the waist but can only bend about 1cm either way. Secondly, despite her face and upper torso having that very distinct translucent tint that glow-in-the-dark items have, and a very leading line in the diary where she mentions 'lighting up the night' with the pet electric eel she hopes to buy someday...she does not glow in the dark. A shame, consider I'm pretty sure another MH girl (Twyla? Spectra?) does.Overall Sirena Von Boo makes a beautiful addition to your Monster High collection, and definitely has one of the most striking, gorgeous looks with her vivid tumble of blue hair and extraordinary mermaid's tail. Little touches like the tassels on her arms and a couple of little braids woven into her hair makes her ever so pretty. Her tail and her lack of ability to sit makes her a bit awkward, but I still love her as a display doll!

I got this to keep as an adult collector of these dolls, and this does not disappoint. Sirena, part mermaid, part ghost, is beautiful with her 'glow like the Twilight vamps' skin, curly hair in shades of blue and lilac, and her beautiful fan tail.I was very gentle in getting her out of the box, but a little bit of the bottom of her hair was already so tangled from manufacture, that I've had to trim it. I did try brushing it with the little brush that's provided, but it's been teased and this makes it very hard.Like other reviewers have mentioned, her tail is rather stiff and hard to manipulate, and actually needed a bit of force, but once in place, it allows her to stand upright. She's too beautiful for my nieces to be allowed to play with, so she's taken pride of place in my display cabinet, with her BFF Avea Trotter (part centaur, party harpy). On to the next, which will mean a little saving up, as these dolls are not cheap, but they're worth it.Update 27/01/15 - though this doll has been kept carefully on a shelf, her tail has become damaged when the display cabinet has been bumped and she's lost her balance. Very disappointing, and it means that I'm having to prop her up against a tall glass to keep her upright.

The new Freaky Fusion range toys could have been a cheap money-spinner, in that it would be very easy to produce new characters by mixing and matching body parts from past dolls. Though some of them are blendings of old characters, the new creations are definitely not recycled. This doll has unique and very detailed parts unique to the character, and unlike previous dolls can stand unaided (provided you open her tail out a little - if you want the full mermaid look you can fold it flat). The face is nicely detailed, especially round the eyes and ears, and the hair is also very attractively done. My daughter did find one arm did not articulate properly at the elbow when she first examined it,but it did loosen up without breaking and she could be posed as easily as any other doll in the range. Like other of these figures, it isn't the sturdiest toy in the world, but they are not really meant for younger children or rough play. There are no separate accessories apart from the diary, but the costume has a lot of imaginative detailing and my daughter felt that it was good value. I'm very happy with this latest addition.

The packaging around this toy is impressive, the box is not square and it has a large viewing panel, the pack includes Sirena Von Boo's diary and freaky hair brush as well as the almost 12 inch blue eyed doll itself. This 'mermaids' black tail splits to enable her to stand unaided, her lower body is covered in a 'Fishnet tight' (note the singular) finished with a black belt. She has a matching 'bolero' top which is fashionably off one shoulder, her upper body being covered in a 'sea green' top. Her neck is adorned with a 'silver coloured necklace and there is a matching ear decoration and stud. Her beautiful soft feel face with the coral lips is crowned with 'sea blue'hair which would reach her ankles if she had any! Her black webbed hands on jointed wrists and arms with fins and jointed elbows and shoulders are dainty and proportional. She has dangly black wrist ties which would look absolutely stunning when she swims to her appointments. This is a superior doll to the 'my little pony' range of similar looking toys, its also twice the price. An adorable addition to any girls Monster High collection.JC

i got this for my niece to play with when she visits, a very useful addition to the toy box, although to be honest it nearly didnt make it there as my 14yr old saw it and was oohing and arrring over wether or not she could have it to decorate the shelves in her bedroom.these dolls are great to play with they are bright interesting and well coloured and also what little girl doesnt like to comb hair? that said i can see why people also collect them as they are right on trend.she will stand nicely with a bit of fiddling and i agree that a ghost who glowed would have been a nice touch but it is being well played with and loved by a little girl but how do i respond to her request that the mermaid swim in water???i dont really think it would come to much harm ,so off we go to play.really nice alternative for those of us who dont want that other famous doll who always comes in pink and begins B

This doll has been a massive hit with both my ten year old and (especially) my eight year old daughters and has been played with almost constantly since they gleefully received it the other day (when they're not on their tablets, of course). It's a solid, well made thing and the kids obviously love the concept of the the mermaid hybrid idea. For those used to traditional dolls, it's obviously a bit strange looking, but the Monster High series is extremely popular and it's good that they are making quality toys for children who like things to be a little different than usual. She can stand unaided (with a little manipulation), has plenty of detail including long hair to play with and, although I wouldn't particularly recommend it for much younger children who may naturally mistreat toys, it is perfect for slightly older kids who actively enjoy playing with dolls and have creative minds.

I have fallen in love with these dolls. I started to collect them for my granddaughters but so far I haven't handed them over.Sarina Von Boo has beautiful blue hair. A delicate face and the most amazing fish tail.Part ghost part mermaid. There were never dolls like this when I was a girl and I think I have become an adult who collects dolls! shock and horror on me!I will keep Sarina safe until I am sure my granddaughters will treat her with the care and love she deserves. She has her own hairbrush and diary, her own personality. So much more to the stories behind these hybrid fusion characters, so much better for the imagination than the dreaded Barbie set. Sarina might have been a siren, one of those greek myths of the mermaids who sang sailors to lure onto rocks and their deaths. This a new kind of doll I heartily approve of and enjoy. Cool.

This is spectacuar, ive never seen a doll quite like it in my entire life. The attention to detail is amazing and the doll is just mind blowing in its detail.I hated dolls when i was growing up, i mean what was the point of babrie and cindy, i much preferred all the boy toys like garages and guns etc, but if they would of had these in the 70's when i was growing up i would of maybe not been such a tomboy lolI dont know much about Monster High and had to look it up when i saw this doll, but how cool to have a cartoon based on freaky cool characters like unicorns and vampires and werewolves and ghosts, far more imaginative than baby born and all that malarky. This doll is a ghost/mermaid hybrid, and the doll is so gorgeous, even the box is pretty.Any little girl would be thrilled to have this in their collection.

This probably says more about me than my children, but I'm much happier with my daughter playing with a Monster High doll than an anorexic Barbie doll. This Sarina Von Boo doll is one seriously cool ghost-mermaid. It's the most elaborate doll that the children have, with cool clothes, vibrant hair and an awesome ghostly-pallor.My daughter loves mermaids, and this one doesn't have a perm-tan, isn't dressed heat-to-toe in pink and doesn't look like she'd be more at home downing shots on a beach resort. Children's imaginations should be fuelled by the toys that they play with and I'd much rather we have a house full of ghosts and mermaids than dolls that look like page three models.Overall the quality is very high, the clothing well designed, and this has gone down very well in our house.

My seven-year-old daughter has been playing with this doll and it is without doubt her current favourite. As other reviewers have noted, getting the doll to stand up require a little bit of patience but after a few practise attempts my daughter can stand the doll by herself. The manufacturing quality is better than anything I've seen before in a child's doll; it is superb with great attention to detail, particularly the chain overlay of her tail. The accessories are excellent too. It's worth reading the detailed product description where one can zoom in on the images and see what I'm on about. The other aspect of this doll that had my daughter in fits of laughter is the great play on words in the description ...gore-geous,wooo-nderful, spook-tacular and so on.

I don't really know much about the Monster High fandom, but my 7 year old niece does and she was delighted with this doll. For the more discerning little girl who wants a bit more than a Barbie doll to dress up. The doll it's self has striking blue hair and is a mermaid/ghost hybrid which has a lot more imagination than the standard doll. It is beautifully made, although a little pricey at £20 but you get what you pay for.It is a very attractive doll with a silvery tail that looks a bit like chain link. She has matching accessories of a necklace and earrings, a hair brush and a diary. She is pose-able to a degree and can stand on her own. Suitable for little girls & collectors everywhere, although due to small parts not too young.

My daughter had been begging me for a monster high doll for a while and this was our first foray into their ghoulish world. I have to admit that the dolls are much better made than the norm, this particular one, a fusion of ghost and mermaid and star of the film currently in uk cinemas, is stunning. She has pearlescent skin, brush able vivid blue hair you can style with the supplied skull brush, and is beautifully presented in a box for opening. My daughter thought the doll lived up to expectations and could see the appeal instantly.Play wise Sirena Von Boo is a little prone to toppling off her tail but bar this is a great doll for any tween fan of monster high.Well played with and loved for her freaky good looks in our house!

Beautiful but freaky and scary doll , part mermaid part ghost and is one of the Monster High collectibles!Lovely paintwork , and clothing and lovely long flowing blue hair!!My neice aged just 5 was initially overawed by her and spooked by her ghostly pallor and blue hair but eventually with encouragement was happy to play and make up stories. She does "stand" with encouragement , the mermaid tail splits into two to allow it, but when played with doesnt need to stand for display purposes. So all in all strange but somehow attractive!

wow just looking at this doll takes time, there is so much detail!! the picture does not do the doll justice. She is amazing her tail splits to keep her stood up, the design of the clothing over and above the tail is spot on too. the gloves have long tendrils which will I know mean I will be putting this doll up high (I have cats). but then again the design of the box means even if she stays in it on show, she will look wonderful. Another great freaky Fusion doll from Monster High's doll collection.
