This is my second set of Circulon pans. I was pleasantly surprised by the high quality feel when I got these out of the box. They are a fair weight but not too heavy, they just have a nice solid feel to them and the top edges have a lip which curls over and gives the top edge of the pans a nice finish too. The lids slide fairly deeply into the pan and sit nice and snugly. All too often pan lids are too loose and so steam escapes or the steam spits around the edges of the lid and smothers everything liquid but not these. My last set just had stainless steel handles and became too hot to touch when in use but these have a nice silicon handle, including the lid,so there is no need to be reaching for a tea towel or oven mit every time to check the saucepans and their contents. As for the cooking performance; as usual outstanding. Until I discovered circulon, I never bothered with non-stick pans. They never seemed to be that non-stick! Circulon are definitely in a league of their own. The Teflon coating is much tougher than the standard Teflon and absolutely nothing sticks!! I have even made toffee popcorn in one of these and although the cooled toffee may appear to stick, by simply soaking the pan for 5 mins in hand hot soapy water, it literally floats off. The frying pan/skillet makes excellent pancakes without oil. I find that food actually cooks quicker in these saucepans. For instance, boiling potatoes to a softness ready for mashing usually takes much longer in ordinary pans as most of the water escapes as steam and some don't seem as cooked as others. I think due to the heat disbursement in circulon pans, they cook evenly and without boiling dry but in about 75% of the time they would ordinarily take. The main thing about all Circulon pans that I like is that they do not really need to be washed in a dishwasher as they are so easy to clean. Usually just a rinse/quick dip in some soapy water, wipe them with your chosen sponge/cloth and rinse and they are spotless. No effort or scrubbing is required and no taking up all the space in a dishwasher with large saucepans. All in all, I would not go for any other pan these days. Apart from a casserole cooked in a good old Le Creuset pot, these are the tops!Edited: I had to remove one star from the rating of this review as I had a recent experience that surprised me. My daughter was cooking basmati rice and as things DO seem to cook quicker in these pans, she left it a little too long. Needless to say the rice stuck. In all my previous experiences of burnt food on non-stick cookware, a good overnight soak and then boiling on the stove top for five minutes usually shifts the toughest of burnt on food but the rice starch which had stuck to the bottom of one of these pans refused to move at all. I soaked, I soaked again in vinegar and bicarbonate of soda, I soaked in washing powder (as the the enzymes in the biological kind usually breaks down food), I boiled and boiled again and then had to resort to a mildly abrasive cleaning pad. Even though the pan now looks clean, if you look carefully, there are still particles stuck between the 'rings' of coating supposed to provide better heat convection.I am sorely disappointed in this. It seems that if the bottom were smoother the food would have been completely removed but why in the h**l did it stick in the first place? Sure. These pans are not made to resist burning but in the past, any food which has burnt and stuck to the bottom during cooking, usually burns but can be scraped off with a spatula or removed in washing. So beware.

I would have been very surprised (and disappointed) had these Circulon pans not lived up to their reputation; they are, after all, positioned as the BMW or Mercedes of the cooking world and have much to live up to. They did not disappoint. These are my finding after two cooking sessions.PROs----Sturdy, solid, durable and tough. Describe them by any of these names because they are built to last. And not in a namby-panby amateur kitchen like mine, I suspect they would do very well in a small restaurant or gastro-pub where you can't afford sub-standard equipment. The handles, for instance, are riveted onto the body so won't come loose over time. Being quite solid they also retain a lot of heat, helping to cook food evenly.Cool running. The handles don't get hot, thank goodness. Makes it easy to move them amongst the burners, lift off and so forth. This avoids the risk of burning yourself too I found, as you can get a good grip on this rubbery handles.See-through lids on all but the deep frying pan. Well, I say "see through" but you do have the problem of condensation to combat, but a quick knock of the lid helps with being able to see the contents without removing the lid.Non-stick. We've all used non-stick pans before but these are really super slippery (maybe because they're new, maybe because they're Circulon). Whatever the reason, they are just superb at letting the food slide about without sticking. And washing up afterwards is a breeze. Once I'm done, I just wipe the merest suggestion of a hint of cooking oil over the inside to keep them pristine.Good size mix. Not the absolute largest but not too small either. Taller than some other makes (eg Teflon). They also do some other, larger, pots to match these which I'm tempted by, such as the stockpot. Good for casseroles I'm thinking.Good for Induction cooking. OK I have do NOT have an induction cooker but my daughter has so they are on her shortlist already! Who knew you had to have special pots to cook on an induction cooker (not me).CONs----Sturdy, robust and all that - but quite heavy it must be said and therefore something someone with weaker wrists ought to test out first (bearing in mind that contents will add yet further weight). Not an issue at all for most people. Not cheap. But then you don't get a BMW for the price of a Ford do you?CONCLUSION----------Superb cooking set. If you're serious about cooking (or just starting out with a new house or kitchen) then these are definitely for you. They will last for years giving brilliant service.---[If you found this review helpful please up-vote; if you didn't don't down-vote - leave a comment to help me improve this and my other reviews]

Good pans can last a lifetime and are something that are a worthwhile investment. To me, these should have a number of tangible qualities and these are not always present in those rather smart fashionable items that often populate the market. The Circulon items, however, are excellent and truly tick the boxes. To my mind, made up over a period of many years, serviceable pans should possess the following features: longevity, good build, the ability to guard from inadvertent burns, offer consistently good results and be easily washable, preferably in a dishwasher. They also should not be too weighty. I have explained how these items measure up below. The set comes as a series of five in varying sizes and feature a titanium composite food release system and are thus,in short, non-stick. There is everything from milk and frying pan to the larger items and these should suit all basic requirements. The construction is solid and designed to last well and they are made of steel. The handles are silicone and stay cool over the heat and will not slip through the fingers. These also look as if they will fare better over the years than some wooden handled pans I possess. The pans' non-stick coating shrugs off clinging food with ease, as I found. Washing up is a dream, especially since there are no little corners on the pans to gather dirt. I particularly liked the lids as these are partly glass which means that you can see through to what is simmering in the pan below. The handles are also pleasingly large so that you can get your hands through them without incurring a possible burn. This is a real advantage as I always hated those dinky knobs and the like, as handling these was often accompanied with an "ow" factor. These pans can also go in the oven with a heat of up to Gas Mark 4/180 degrees, which is useful.I particularly liked the fact that they were not too heavy as is the case with some makes. This means that the added weight of food does not require heavy haulage. Also, if you have a family, lugging around a really weighty item containing hot food and liquid could prove a little hazardous. In summary, these pans are quite excellent. Perversely, I rather liked the fact that they did not carry the endorsement of some celebrity cook as I rather suspect that this might put up the price but not necessary the quality. They potentially should last for many years and the cost is fair considering this. I think they would make an excellent wedding/house warming present or indeed a good replacement set for any household.

I guess the key selling point to this saucepan set is that it is suitable for every hob type (including gas, induction, ceramic, solid plate and even the oven, up to 180 degrees centigrade). While many other saucepan sets will claim to be suitable for all hob types, it would not be uncommon to see in small print that they will not work with induction hobs. However, there is a small price to be paid for the ability to cook on induction hobs and this is that the pans are much heavier than any other saucepans I've looked at. I understand that this is because the pans need to be partially made of steel, in order for the induction system to work. The extra weight means that the pans can be difficult to lift with one hand, especially if it's fully of something like potatoes! I therefore feel it would have been better to provide a second, stub handle to aid lifting the saucepans (only the 20cm saucepan has such a handle). The non stick system used in these saucepans is patented by Meyer (owner of the circulon brand) - I don't profess to know anything about how this actually works, but it certainly does away with all the nasty bits of burnt food stuck to the bottom of the pan, at least in their early life stage. The care instructions do warn not to use metal utensils and clean with wire scrubbers, although this is only to be expected. It should also be noted that while the saucepans are dishwasher safe, it is recommended that they are hand washed. It remains to be seen what effect regular dishwasher would have, although I do know that my existing set of prestige saucepans (2 years old) have suffered from perished handles and general discolouring, which I can only put down to the use of the dishwasher.I was also pleased to see that the handles had been riveted to the saucepans, instead of being screwed together and so this should eliminate the curse of the wobbly handle! Having said this, it also means that the handle cannot be easily replaced if it becomes damaged in some way, thus effectively rendering the saucepan, useless. In terms of the range of pots and pans included in this set, it comes with a milk pan, 3 saucepans of various sizes and a French Skillet. It should be noted that the latter is not actually a frying pan, and doesn't come with a lid, hence it probably isn't a good idea to try cooking an English breakfast in it unless you want grease everywhere!

You start saving from the moment you begin using this excellent set of pots and pans. Your food will cook much faster at much lower heat settings than with normal pans. With increasing energy prices, this is a major bonus. Until you get used to this, however, it will pay you to be extra careful in your settings. The most likely way to damage the pots and pans is to overheat them. Remember! They cook fast on a low heat! The glass lids will help you to check you are not over-cooking your food.A further bonus awaits their use! You will also save a great deal of time and energy (and frustration) when it comes to cleaning up after use. You really don't need a dish-washer and you can throw away your Brillo Pads or other scourers. All you have to do is just let them cool down then steep them in a little tepid water. After a short time, the remaining cooking scum just peels away effortlessly! No matter how daunting the removal initially looks. Whether you have been scrambling eggs or cooking Semolina or Porridge. They clean so easily leaving them looking pristine and ready for use once more. All the 'chore' factor has been removed. You may even find yourself fighting with your partner for the washing up 'pleasure'. I hasten the process by using an inexpensive long-handled brush especially designed for the purpose by Circulon. You can get one from Amazon. In addition, you can use the set on any heat source, including induction hobs, and you will find all the pots and pans beautifully designed to meet you cooking needs and made to last a lifetime. The handles don't get hot, feel great and afford good grip: each item is very easy on the eye, looks and feels solid, but not too heavy, and all are stable in use. They are not cheap, but they are well worth double the price and will soon repay your initial outlay. You will save in time and energy consumption and get great pleasure in using the range for your cooking challenges.

who likes to scratch cook or indeed for any household. This set of saucepans are superb. They have a special non stick coating (Circulon) but as advised in the guarantee booklet that comes with them, it is advisable to first wash and dry them and then 'season' them with oil. I did this with a small amount of Olive Oil and wiped out the residue. The pans themselves are well weighted so you can tell that they are quality items. I also like the fact that they have rubber on the handles so you don't burn yourself if you inadvertently have the gas on too high. (Been there, done and well, haven't got the tee-shirt)! The largest pan also has another handle on the top so you don't have to strain yourself by lifting it with one hand. The set comprises a milk pan, a 16cm saucepan, an 18cm saucepan, a 20cm saucepan and a 20cm frying pan.I used three of them last night and the manufacturers claim that you need less oil is accurate. I was cooking down some onions and garlic for a ragout sauce for Spaghetti Bolognaise and usually I find that the garlic starts to burn before the onions have softened. This time nothing burnt at all. I was really impressed. The set has glass lids so you can see how your cooking is progressing without losing precious steam.I had been umming and ahhing about whether to buy myself a new set of pans as our old ones are, well, old!Highly recommended. However, as they are rather expensive this maybe a considered purchase. If they continue to remain as good as they were last night then I would consider it money well spent. Buying cheap pans is never a good idea.

Having owned and used several sets of high quality pans over the years, there are a few things I look for now. The first is something so obvious it's amazing that not all pans have this - a coated or non metal handle, so the pan can be lifted when in use. The second is a thick, sturdy base so the pan remains stable when used on a precarious gas hob. The third is a lip around the edge so the pans can be stacked, even when in use. The the last is a non stick coating which works, and lasts. These pans manage to achieve all of that, although as I have only recently acquired them, I can't comment yet on how long the non-stick coating will last. Based on what I've seen in other pans, this can be anywhere from 6 months to a couple of years, so I'm hoping for the latter from these pans. The only criticism I would have of this set, and this is true of virtually all pan sets, is that they're perhaps a little out of touch with modern cooking. That is to say, they're very focussed on what could be considered the standard set of pans. I do a lot of asian cooking, and so I find I need a variety of Woks more so than saucepans. Perhaps it's time to include a wok as standard in all pan sets, and if that comes at the expense of one of the saucepans, I can live with that. I wouldn't say no to a slightly larger frying pan too, as the 24cm one included in this set feels a little small - I find a 28cm or 30cm frying pan makes cooking quite a bit easier.Still, I can't fault the quality, at least so far.

This Circulon Elite Pan set combines the look and feel of stainless steel, with the practicality of a quality non stick lining. The pans have good solid bases for even heat distribution, and once up to heat, they retain temp well, so they should be efficient. Whilst I can't comment on anything other than my halogen hob, they will work on all hobs (including induction).I really do like pans with silicon handles, which remain cool to touch unless the pan has been in the oven (max 180C).The pan range is fairly typical, 16, 18, 20cms (with steel and glass lids), a smaller milk pan, and a reasonable, if not massive 24cm frying pan.The non stick is very effective on the frying pan,and you can get away with the meanest drop of oil (which is good for my diet). It is also nice to have non stick on the larger pans. as winter is setting in, we regularly make porridge, and no amount of attention and stirring with our old stainless steel pans would leave us with pans that didn't need a good soaking ... not so with these ... all of the porridge ended up in the bowl, not stuck to the pan.In summary, a good looking set of useful sized pans with a quality non stick finish and glass lids on 3 that work on all hob types. Dishwasher safe (although you may not need to) and with grippy and cool silicon handles. What more could you want from a set of pans.

All the pans in this set look great, with a shiny stainless steel exterior which is also easy to clean. The handle is attached with two rivets to the pan, which should give better durability than pans whose handles are attached with a single screw, which usually then become loose over time. The handles are covered in a rubber like material which provides good grip and insulate against heat.Compared to my previous pans, which are Tefal branded ones, each of these pans are taller in comparison, giving better capacity. The non-stick coating on the inside are even and solid, I don't expect them to flake and peel off like cheaper pans.I can't say for definitely if these heat up any quicker or slower than average, since I didn't take the stopwatch out to time them, but let's just say they feel fast heating enough - definitely NOT the slowest ones to heat up in my pan collection. These are advertised as oven safe up to 180C or gas mark 4, which should come in handy. As others have mentioned, cleaning is fairly easy, especially since they are still new. The prove of the pudding is whether they will remain easy to clean after a year's of abuse in a busy family kitchen. :)All in all, I'm happy with this pan set - not the cheapest, but decent value when compared to buying pans individually.

I have been using the 'Circulon Steel Elite Cookware 5 piece saucepan set' for a couple of weeks and here's my thoughts on design, looks, usability and performance.Design: This Circulon Steel Elite Saucepan Set consists of a frying pan without lid, three saucepans with lids and a milk pan without lid. Praise must be given to the Total® Ti Titanium composite Hi-Low release system exclusive to Circulon, this enables you to get healthy and tasty results from cooking with little or even no oil. Another great feature is the slip free, safety grip handles that stay cool to the touch.Looks: The Circulon Steel Elite Saucepan set is an attractive modern sleek design in stainless steel, black with glass lids that would look good in any kitchen, traditional or modern.Usability: Easy to use, not too heavy and it's lovely to be able to see your food cooking through the glass lids. Also the set is oven safe up to 180 degrees. My only negative point has to be the rather small size of the frying pan, not much good for a family size fry up.Performance: An absolutely excellent set of pans, everything cooks beautifully without sticking and being non stick washing up by hand (we don't have a dishwasher) is a breeze. So there you have it, just my opinion of course.

These Circulon Elites make up a solid, if not comprehensive set that will cover most cooking needs from making delicate sauces to searing steaks to boiling potatoes. Each pan has the same shiny chrome finish and the typical Circulon non-stick coating. I've had them for a few weeks now and they still gleam, though they'll inevitably tarnish through normal use. Cleaning them is extremely easy.Like the Circulon Infinite skillet I bought previously, the feeling I get from the construction of these pans is that they're designed to outlast their user. They come with a lifetime guarantee and I find it plausible that the pans will still be usable in another 50 or so years. This means that, if they remain a set, they'll be a fantastic addition to the armoury of the tribal warlords that will rule the Earth after World War III. I can picture a burly warrior with the larger frying pan strapped across his chest like a breastplate, with the saucepans protecting his shoulders and head. Next to him is his mutated child with the tiny milkpan perched rakishly atop its head.I could go on, but I'll stop now and simply state that I recommend these pans as a very good addition to most kitchens, particularly if you're sick of pans with unreliable non-stick coating.

This is a good quality set of pans. They are not the most aesthetically stylish pans - some may disagree, but I think they are a little ugly - but they do their job extremely well. Firstly they are solid, reasonably heavy and well balanced; heat distribution is good and the strong riveted handles are never going to come off. I recently burnt myself badly by enthusiastically grabbing the handle of a stainless steel saucepan, so I really do appreciate the stay-cool silicone handles on this set. The non-stick Hi-Low surfaces do, as they claim, enable you to fry with the minimum of oil - whether they actually 'outlast all other non-sticks'we'll have to wait and see (it is a claim that is not going to be easy to prove unless you are obsessive about documenting the progress of your cookware). The glass lids are a nice idea but, in practice, I think you'd take the lid of the pan to see what is going on. The range of sizes is good - the 20cm saucepan is bigger than any in my previous set and is a very useful size and the frying pan is a good size too. Other useful additions would be an omelette pan and sauté pan, but I have these already. At the Amazon price I think they represent very good value for money.

This set has replaced the old set I bought with my own money so this is no flash in the pan! The finish is really tough surviving the combined effects of metal utensils and my demented father who insists on doing the washing up but also insists on using wire scourers. My father's washing up technique is unique in being able to leave food still adhered whilst simultaneously removing the non stick coating underneath. The last set survived eighteen months before it started to look a bit dog eared and you won't get a more aggressive regime than that. The downside is that the ridges in the non-stick, whilst they are of benefit when browning meat as stated, do allow the retention of an oily deposit if washed up by a senile eighty year old.A smoother finish would be easier to clean. Also, the design of the lids make it difficult for octogenarians to get in to clean the periphery of the underside. Also, the lids are a good fit but are difficult to leave 'cocked' with a gap to allow steam out when boiling spuds. You have to watch them. Otherwise these pans are reasonably light (for steel pans), good looking and practical.

Circulon make the best quality home cooking pots and pans and despite these being in the budget range, still deliver superb results. For the more premium pots you can easily spend almost this amount for five on one good pot and either way it's a worthy investment. Though you might still be spending more than you would expect, go for it. These pans that will last if not for ever then a very long time and will also improve your cooking and your washing up.Whilst they don't quite have the even heat spread of their more expensive sets they are still robust for anything you want to chuck at or in them. Forget the dishwasher, although you can if you really must,as a quick hot water wipe will clean the most stickiest of food stuffs you might struggle with on other supposed non stick claims. Into the bargain you will probably also prolong their life - they really, really do not need 45 minutes on a hot wash to get them sparkling again.A very good buy for the simple home cook though more serious foodies would do well to invest in the premium Circulon pots and pans.

The first thing you will notice about these pans are that they are heavy. They are going to be heavy due to the need for an iron core to make them work with induction hobs, but these are heavier than the ones that I am replacing. Saying that they are nice looking, and I have no problem with controlling them but some people might find them too heavy. They have the non-stick coating on them all, and the base is gently ribbed to help further improve this non-stick effect. They certainly seem to work, have fried an egg in the pan and it slid out once cooked by just tipping it, so I have been impressed so far. Can't judge the longevity of the non-stick coating but will update the review if the coating fails too quickly.I am not so sure about the design of the lids. They seem to have a lot of ridges that can collect dirt in them which makes it a bit of a chore to clean, but that might not be such an issue with a dishwasher (I wash by hand).Overall, good pots and pans that work on my induction hob so quite happy.
