We often do Facetime over the Internet with our daughter and granddaughter (age 3). It has always been fun, with her running off to grab something else to show us or us showing her our own things (which she can't possible consider important).Then we got this puppet. We were chatting with each other when I slowly slipped the dragon up from behind my wife and onto her shoulder. The granddarling stopped mid sentence and stared. "What's that?!!" "That's an aligator!""No," we said, "it's Smokey, our new dragon." In all our conversations with her, we have never seen her laugh so hard or as often as when "Smokey" intrudes into the conversation. Bought three (so far) of these cute dragon puppet friends to give as gifts. One was a gift for a newborn - obviously too young to actually enjoy puppets at this point - but Smoulder is already a hit with the older children in the family. Another for a toddler that loves to carry him around with her like a doll. (Her parents removed the wooden dowel for now.) He's in the repertoire of stage puppets under the care and supervision of a grade school puppeteer. She says he's "very well behaved" and she loves his wings, moving him about as if he's flying. What a kick to have a cool dragon ally, always ready to support and protect you and make you laugh! He's got a sweet friendly face.

Iam a student photographer and purchased a BUNCH of these Puppets Made "By Melissa & Doug", They are Great Quality Puppet's and will be Great to Get Kids to SMILE for My CAMERA!!! I look forward to using these and Really Had FUN Playing with them when I took them Out Of Their Moving(Shipping) BOX,lol. I called the Company "Melissa & Doug", (info on the Tag attached to Puppet) for a small problem on another Puppet & their Customer service staff was really Friendly and wanted to make things right. I was a buyer for Relax the Back Stores & Other Retail, Did Merchandising and was in Upper Management and the customer service rep was happy to take down my feedback on all of the Puppets I received.

My husband and I bought five of these puppets for our two grandchildren (brother and sister) for Christmas.First let me say that when they arrived, my husband and I were amazed at the fine quality and craftsmanship of these puppets....and at such an affordable price! Needless to say, before wrapping them the kid in us came out and we had fun playing with them. On Christmas day, the whole family enjoyed playing and impersonating with the puppets and also commented on the fine quality. We also bought them the puppet theater to enhance their imagination and fun. Great gift and nice change from all the electronic toys!

This is a colorful and well-made puppet with great details. The stick-manipulated arm adds to the versatility of movement and makes this guy even more real to young kids. Even though he's a dragon, his features are friendly (and he has a problem breathing fire) so he is not particularly intimidating. Even so, our 5 year old grandson repeatedly asked if he was just pretend, a great compliment I think for a puppet! We've had a lot of fun with this guy already and I think he will be a permanent new member of the family, something our grandkids will look forward to "visiting" with when they come to visit.

I have two very spirited boys and they love their dragon puppet! Easy for small hands to manipulate. The felt is easy to wipe clean and the stitching is strong and holds up to rough play. The stick to direct the arm is interchangable (left or right handed) and can be completely removed. I have young children so the stick has been put up till they are older. I am confident that we will enjoy many years of fun with Smoulder. I will also be purchasing another puppet so that both boys will have a dragon. Great way to encourage pretend play and imagination! Love it!

This puppet is so very cute. My husband is an amateur photographer and he does photo shoots with kids. Sometimes its hard to get the kids to sit still and focus on the camera. I bought this so that I can stand behind my husband and wave it around giving the kids something fun and interesting to look at.I was very impressed with the quality. When he is not in use at a photo shoot he hangs out in my sewing room with me. I occasionally like to play around and put on a mini puppet show for my husband and daughter, just to make them laugh and drive them nuts. Ha.

As my grandson, Cheng-Loong, was born in the Year of the Dragon, I thought a dragon should appear at his first birthday party.Not only did my grandson enjoyed this funny-looking dragon, but all of the other tiny tots did too! And, the adults! I liked the ability to move one of the arms to punctuate what 'Smoldie' was saying! It was so fun watching my little grandson respond to his dragon friend! I plan to bring Smoldie with me when I next visit!Yes, do purchase Smolder the Dragon Puppet! It's made well and will bring much fun!

Great puppet and the quality was fantastic. Makes you think this could be from sesame street.. Kids love this and we plan on adding more puppet. The price was unbelievable for such a well made product, but than again Melissa and Doug have quality items. I love that the kids have to use their imagination and make up stories instead of watching tv. Loved these puppets so much I got all the grandkids puppets, we got six this holiday and plan on adding more for the birthdays to come.

I found Melissa & Doug puppets at our local natural foods stores and ended up buying one for my daughter. Then I looked here on Amazon and found them for a much better price. So I purchased this one to be a companion to the other one. These are very well made and I feel I'm getting more for the money. They come with a stick that can be inserted into either hand for bringing them more to life. M&D are a quality toy manufacturer, so you can't really go wrong.

This puppet is beautiful, the colors & quality seem very nice. It is a good size & bigger than I thought which was a nice surprise. The only thing is I didn't realize (not pictured) that it has a long plastic stick attached to one hand (also has place inside for your hand) to work the arm movement. That might be nicer later, but I'm not sure my 4 year old Grandson will want to maneuver the long stick.

I am a recreation therapist who has uses "smoulder" in my therapy sessions...My residents react to him with kindness and big smiles...he is wonderful for them! His face and this wings allow for creativity for our adventures together. They love that he blows kisses and play peek a boo.....they are in a long term care facility and love his child-like qualities! Many wanted to just hug him!Thank You!

The quality of these puppets are unmatched. Really nice materials and ease of use make these M&D puppets a no brainer for kids and adults. My kids, 3 and 8 were able to use them easily and even adults can fit their hands up into the head to make the mouth move. The puppets have a wooden stick with a handle that attaches to their hand. You can make them wave. Easy for kids to use...Nice product

I chose this as an addition to a knight dressup outfit for my nearly 3 year old grandson. Heenjoys using it to enhance his creative play. He will usually have his sister or brother chase him around with it as he battles the dragon. I took out the wooden stick intended to control the puppet' arm lest it trule become a battle. With the stick, this toy would be better for an older child.

I have bought several items from Melissa and Doug and am never disappointed in the quality great value for money!Bought the puppets for my 2&1/2 year old girl and she loves them. Great for role play and imagination, hopefully she will play with them for a long time to come. I recommend for children of all ages.So impressed I bought them for friends children as well.
