The latest game in the 9 year old Medal of Honor series,is a strong return to form. Ever since Rising Sun was released back in 2003, Medal of Honor games have quickly declined, with European Assault and Vanguard, but I'm pleased to anounce that Airbourne is a very different story.As soon as you start playing the game, you instantly feel that you are meeting up with an old friend, as the classic Medal of Honor gameplay is the same as alway, with great graphics, new ideas, great missions and a good selection of weapons.The best new aspect of this game is when you jump out of the plane at the beginning of each level, as you can see the whole level beneath you. You can choose to land any where on the map,and carry out objectives in the order you prefer.The maps are very big and you can access just about every building and even land on top of them to get a great view of the lanscape. Both the exterior and interior are well detailed, which is something that has been lacking from previous MOH games.Another cool factor is that you can upgraqde your guns, allowing for a greater capcity of ammo or even better scope.There are 6 Missions in total which are very long indeed. Gameplay can be saved after completing an objective. The later levels are very challenging indeed, offering hours of gameplay.Once the game is complete you can replay the levels differently by landing in different areas on the map. There are also plenty of additional extras to watch aswell.It is fair to say that the graphics are a letdown compaired to the mighty Call of Duty 4, even though Airboune is a newer game. But then again Airbourne was due out months before COD 4, but was delayed, so this factor should be brushed aside.I think that this is one of the best MOH games in the series and a big improvement on recent outings. It's an enjoyable game, with a selection of in depth challenging levels that you'l want to replay over and over again.Medal of Honor is back in business.

Billed as a historical re-enactment it rapidly departs from such. The only historical bit about it is that it gets its missions from real World War 2 battles. Much of the rest of it is not particularly real but typical arcade shooter gamey. Because I already have extensive fps experience I did the campaign right from the start on the hardest difficulty. As an fps it is fun and challenging. Still you will play it through in maybe 2 weeks then you will shelve it. It is a classic with no real long term fans so basically there is no longer any online community that I can find. So I can only review the campaign. It is fairly open world, BUT you cannot climb on everything lots of stuff that should be climbable is not,and they do try to split maps into smaller sections by way of chokepoints you must pass through to get from one objective to the next. I really consider it partly open world, real open world environments are where you can go anywhere on dry land. You will do most of the fighting and killing yourself, and sometimes you definitely are all alone surrounded by hordes by deliberate game design. As with any other arcade shooter the idea is to progress you through increasingly tougher levels just so you can boast that you got through them, and a lot of the 'tests' to pass are quite artificial and nothing to do with 'realism' or 'historical re-enactment'. This starts in Sicily and finishes outside Berlin. Although the Germans got weaker through that period, in this they just keep getting stronger, by a factor of times ten actually. So its a nice shooter but will be short lived and treat it as an arcade fps.

Having seen this game being slated by so many other reviews i felt like i had to say what a great game this is.I got this game free with my PS3, and having played the MOH games on PS2, i was really impressed by the graphics and the game as whole which is basically on another level when comparing to the PS2.This game is lots of fun, not a mindless shoot em up, but you have to use your head a bit to get through the game without dieing-like use cover, flank the enemy etc.I am only half way through the game, and am really enjoying it.Not sure what the other reviewers here are expecting in terms of graphics?!The graphics are very good,dont see what more you could want.In terms of gameplay you have to play this game on Medium mode or Hard mode to get the most out of it and make it a decent challenge which it is. My only question about the game is once you have played through how often will you want to play through it again.

It's definitely a solid entry in the series, probably not a memorable one because it's hard to enjoy it these days with the likes of Battlefield 3 not far off, but it improved a lot on previous entries in the series, and gave you the ability to land anywhere on the map to complete your objectives the way you want to. Just try to land near the green smoke or prepare to jump again after a swift and brutal death. Checkpoints are erratic at best, if you die then there's an 80% chance you'll have to restart the whole level again, so make sure you use cover as tactically as possible and save up grenades for clearing out small areas. I still haven't completed it,but it's on my list of games to finish so eventually I'll know how the game ends.

You don't see or read a lot about Airborne but this is a very good game, IMO. It can be a bit frustrating as check points are far apart and you can be continually sent back to where you started - which is a long way from where you were shot!! Lovely graphics and plenty of good weapons and locations. I often wanted to stop fighting and take a look around but got shot if I did! The only minus point is the fact that sometimes you will be shot and never know where it came from and you can't defend against this. I felt cheated when this happened. Overall, a brilliant game.

I have been a fan of the Medal of Honour games for a long time now and always love a good WW2 FPS and this is no exception!! I haven't had any of the problems some people have stated and will happily play through the game again and again. I will agree it is to short but just start again! Apart from Borderlands (a truly awesome game) this is the most played game in my collection. I can only hope we are graced with Airborne 2.

Death from above. This is Medal of Honor Airborne, jump off a plane laden with upgraded gear and rifles, drop on the ground anywhere, then start tearing tdown the nazi machine. Doesn't match the superioty of the first Medal of Honor but is the best of the series for years! Shame that there is no two player.I would reccomend this game if you like WW2 and if you like clonking nazis on the helmets from above

You follow a group of paratroopers on various missions. The levels are partly free roaming and open-world with lots to explore. The action is bloody and intense and is better than most WW2 shooters. The online multiplayer is some of the best I have played with little or no lag whatsoever and someone always online for a game.A strong WW2 shooter with brilliant multiplayer.

The reviews here do not seem great but the game seemed a good challenge to me. Nothing horrendously difficult so you get fed up but some good strategy areas albeit a few where you simply have to rush to avoid the continous flow of Germans. Maybe I'm a bit generous as I've not got COD4 yet.

I dont understand why everyone is slating the gameIt has 6 or 7 awesome levelsput it on a medium level difficulty so its a challenge and it wont seem so shortgraphics are good, gameplay is incredibleI own this and call of duty 4 and am not biased but i would choose this over cod4

i found this game to be great, i think the open play is the best thing this game has to offer though letting you decide in which order you want to complete your objectives, a few more levels would of made this game an absolute 10 out of 10 but still a good game overall

While I found this game to be good in all areas,when you are killed, you find yourself back up in the plane having to jump all over again.This means you've to fight your way back to the same point again.This was especially annoying in the flak tower mission.

i got this game for my boyfriend omg he is addicted every time i come home from work he has it on if i go for my shower he has it on he is so totally addicted feel like phoning a doctor he is that addicted ha ha

Great game met all my expectations. This game had great combat missions and the hand weapons were awesome as the persision of them and the characters and story good as well.

the fun part of the game is the parachute mni game. its so funny to land were you want.i would recomend to fans of medal of honor. not a bad game
