I bought these as I found out my newborn has tongue tie. I didn't realise this until I saw my midwife and had been using normal bottles as a break from breast feeding. I was expressing my milk to fill the bottles. When I fed him on a normal bottle I realised he was guzzling too quick and taking in air. So I thought he had colic as would get very bad wind and be sick. So I invested in tommee tippee anti colic bottles but I was still getting the same thing. For any mum who has had a baby with tongue tie may have experienced pain after breast feeding from where their baby cannot take the whole nipple in to their mouth properly. Due to this it can cause severe pain just latching on.As I need to wait 5 weeks for the op to fix his tongue I was recommended by a friend to try these bottles instead of the other branded well known bottles. I bought 2 just in case and used it for the first time today. Easy to clean, easy to sterilise, and my son had his first bottle today without gulping air down with every gulp. He also got on with the teat a lot better than a standard teat on bottles. They are slimmer and more like a nipple for the baby to feel familiar with it. I know this will only be a temporary fix but it means I know my son won't get violent wind or likely be sick after feeding on these bottles. A huge relief for him and me whilst we wait and I would highly recommend these for those who are experiencing similar issues with windy babies or tongue tied babies. They are worth their weight in gold and nice bottles too.

On there one hand they did - somewhat - reduce colic. And both my baby twins liked the nipple. On the other hand - OMG - the amount of fiddly parts and the frequency of leakage.I know - if you are reading this because you believe your baby has colic you will try anything. In my case, the colic wasn't so aweful and it turned out quite a lot of the pain came from reflux. So perhaps I am not an ideal test case. By then, however, we had bought over 20 (for two babies) so we stuck with it.But when I think of the number of hours spent cleaning all the little parts....I am now slowly moving my one year olds on to Playtex. These are 90% easier to clean, have a disposable liner (not very expensive),rarely leak and are ALSO supposed to prevent colic, because the soft inner liner collapses as the milk is drunk, thus no air can remain in there with it.We'll see. For those for whom MAM is the ONLY answer to colic - then, great. For us it wasn't ...And the self sterilizing thing is a gimmick. Who on earth only sterilized one bottle at a time? If you were on a desert island, with one single bottle, and one single microwave - then maybe this would be handy. But surely all real world mortal parents like to sterilize 6 at a time in one of those (pretty cheap) bowls sterlizers with a lid? That was way easier than balancing each bottle individually on all its component parts...Good luck. I would try the Playtex first (though not as widely available ), they are a much better design.

To include my partner as much as possible and to try and rest my nipples as we had some bad latches at first whilst breast feeding, I expressed and put it in the MAM bottle I got free from boots as part of sample with my boots card. My, at the time, 4 day old daughter had her meal no problem and we had no issue getting back on the breast for the next feed. We have been continuing this routine every day and after nearly a week on it, it is still providing me with sleep, and my partner with bonding time. The pacifiers are also great when she is grumpy. I had 2 other types of bottles I could have tried, I'm just so glad I went straight to MAM! I have purchased more bottles and pacifiers as back up.The anti colic bottles are super easy to clean, the fact they come apart in 6 pieces I think makes it easier. It is easy to put together properly and we have no issue with any leakage. This product is definitely worth the money, I am so greatful there is a different, quality, brand out there to help make these first weeks establishing breastfeeding easier to manage! Breastfeeding is going great for me and MAM bottles are working very well for my partner and daughter ?

My nearly 8 month old daughter has been breastfed mainly because she refused a bottle every time one went near her. We had tried every brand out there from tommee tippee, nuk, minbie to mam as well and all were refused. I'm going back to work soon and as my daughter is now used to solid food and a little bit of water from a sippy cup I thought I had nothing to lose by trying again and we struck gold with these. There are many teats on the market that claim to be like the breast, let's face it none are, it's more a case of finding one your little one can suck from. We found mam have been the best by far, the flat shape of the teat makes it easy for baby to suck evenly and the self-sterilising feature is genius.Highly recommend. For those mums out there still trying to find a bottle that works, this isn't a miracle bottle but well worth a try particularly when they are older and used to a similar shape from a sippy cup (she only takes about an oz over a day so could not be used for a full milk feed yet).

my EBF baby used to take a bottle of expressed milk just fine. i had no problems until one day when he was 5 months old i decided to give him a bottle of formula in preparation for my return to work.. two hours later he threw it all up. it turns out has an intolerance to cows milk. Unfortunately, after that incident, he started refusing the bottle altogether. A lot of expressed milk went to waste over the next few months. I tried many different brands (including this MAM bottle) to no avail. Finally, a couple of weeks ago, i got my mum to try when i was not in the room and he took it! Now he takes it from me too!! it might have been pure luck that my mother used this MAM bottle (since we had tried previously),but i don't care , it worked, that's all that matters! i love this bottle just for that! it is easier to clean than the Tommee Tippee ones i used with my first son and it has not leaked on me yet as other reviewers have said. Also being able to sterilise it in the microwave is so convenient!

The MAM bottles are the best! Our first child was born very premature and when he didn't understand about breastfeeding the specialist in the hospital recommended we use MAM bottles as they are the most 'nipple like' teats. He never did get the hang of breastfeeding but he never had any problems with the MAM bottle. We did try various other brands as well as MAM are a bit more expensive than the likes of tommy tippee, but you get what you pay for. Never had an instance of colic, easy to swap different teat size (different rate of flow of the milk) on the same bottles as he was growing and the self sterilising was fantastic, give it a quick clean then put a bit of water in the bottom and microwave for a couple of minutes and voila,a sterilised bottle ready to go.When we needed a bottle as an emergency when my wife wasn't going to be able to breast feed our new baby for an evening we had no question about MAM. He took it first time, drank no problem and had no issue going back on the breast.

I never leave reviews but with my struggle i hope i can help another mum, i have breast fed exclusivly since birth , my son is now 17 weeks, the last month i have tried the following bottles, Dr Browns and Medela which come with my breast pump, i was told by my hv to keep trying with the bottles i have, the Medela has a very hard teat nothing like a nipple personally just works like a nipple apparently , with my first son i used MAM but that was 9 Years ago I went by recommendation on Dr Browns, i am sure they are good bottles just didn’t work for us. MAM bottles the teat is much softer like a nipple, now i am going to go on and purchase the full size pack. Found this very affordable being £5 after spending out on Dr Browns.I was getting very anxious about my son not accepting a bottle , how i was going to return to work and like most mums every mum deserves a break and i am certainly ready for it. 5 star to MAM.

I've been on breastfeeding exclusively. From the 4th month, I started to try with bottle feeding, but no luck at all as my baby just bit the teat and thought it was a toy. When I tried harder, she would be very stressed and started crying until I gave up. I thought I just had to wait for my baby to grow a bit older to understand how to suck from a bottle. But luckily I heard from other mums that this bottle is really good for her baby to transfer to bottle feeding as the teat is flat instead of a traditional round shape. So I bought this bottle and gave it a try. It was like a miracle that she took it straight away! She was 5 months old at that time.Of course babies all have their own preference, but I would say it definitely worth trying. I would recommend to all mums that are struggling to transfer from exclusive breast feeding to bottle. I'm going to get the bottle set now for my baby!

I have been painstakingly trying every day for 3 weeks to get my 10 week old baby girl to take a bottle of expressed milk...I tried tommie tippie, Dr Brown's, NUK latex and silicone teats, the medela calma, all to no avail, she would (after great perseverance) take the teat in her mouth, but refused to suck! As a last ditch attempt I thought I'd try the MAM bottle and thank goodness I did...I received it yesterday and it took a couple of attempts, but she instantly seemed happier with the shape of the teat and tonight took expressed milk from the bottle. I will now be purchasing the MAM self sterilising starter pack which is a snip at £20 for a 15 piece set. Yes,you need to make sure that the component parts are well screwed together, however it is not complicated. Thank you MAM for a fantastic product.

My son was exclusively breastfed until 9 months and, until I tried this bottle, he refused any other way of drinking except an open cup. But he took to this bottle immediately and enjoyed feeding himself with it straight away. It's a neat size and a lovely (boob-like?!) round shape that clearly appealed to him.For breastfed babies, even if they are older babies, I find it works well to use the Size 1 (newborn) teat as it gives flow more like the breast. The bottle comes apart into several pieces to wash, which some might find inconvenient, but I haven't minded this. With the lid on, the bottle is totally watertight, although occasionally the milk leaks from the teat into the cap.Very minor inconveniences for a lovely bottle.

After trialling numerous bottles (Medela, Avent, Tommee Tippee and Dr Browns) due to colic, we have settled on this. It is comparable to the Dr Browns bottle in terms of reducing wind, however, less 'bits and pieces' to deal with when sterilising. My little one is 6 weeks old and really took to this teat (which, although was slow flow, came out pretty fast compared to other mainstream teats). Very little wind and he finishes the bottle in 15 minutes, compared to 45 minutes for the other bottles! The microwave sterilising feature is nice and I can see that this would be very handy when travelling.Experienced leaking once. It was not major but is why this is 4 stars instead of 5.Will be sticking to this bottle I think!

I received a voucher for a free one of these bottles from Boots when I signed up to their parenting club. I didn't think about it much and stored it away until baby was born. That was until she started developing really bad colic with the Tommee Tippee closure to nature bottles. I genuinely think these do help with colic- it seems better in my daughter anyway and we have completely gotten rid of the Tommee Tippee bottles now. I bought the starter set of these as well as some extra mini bottles for my newborn. We haven't used the self-sterilising feature if the bottles yet, but I imagine it'll be extremely useful when visiting friends/family. Highly recommend.

I've trialled 5 or 6 different bottles and teats for my often-picky 2-month old in recent weeks and this one is top of the pile, for so many reasons:- It doesn't cause trapped wind or lead to extensive burping sessions- It's really easy to clean (especially in comparison to the Tommee Tippee ones, which were clearly designed by men who never tried to wash the sodding things up)- My daughter took to the teat immediately (unlike the Medela Calma and the Nuk ones, which she either ignored or got confused by)- You can sterilise it on its own in the microwave! That's bloody handy.Absolutely worth buying and trying with your little one.

I purchased this for my 4month old niece as she was not taking to ANY bottles, the ones that claim to be as close to the breast as possible, she hated them all, she gagged and cried with each one, I could tell my sister just wanted her to take one for those times where she may need someone else to watch baby.I got the MAM for her and whilst it has taken her a while to get the hang of it it was the first bottle that didnt make her gag, we tried every day and now finally after a week or so she has the hang of it, best bottle for a breastfed baby so dont waste your money on anything else you will be so pleased with this one!

My baby had been exclusively breastfed for 4 months so when my husband or myself tried to give her expressed milk in a bottle she totally refused to take it. I tried so many types of teats n bottle makes but she refused all of them. Finally when I tried her on this MAM bottle , she took it straightaway from me. It's been a miracle and an absolute God send, she still drinks from this bottle on the rare occasion when I need to bottle feed her and no matter how far away the last time she used the bottle was, she still sucks instinctively and comfortably as soon as Inpop the bottle in her mouth.
