Recently started migrating some tools over to Makita, and have found their Makpac system to be brilliant. It’s got a smaller footprint to the Bosch L-Boxx system which, as much as I love Bosch, is actually quite handy as they’re easier to throw in the van, and also fit on smaller shelves. They’re very easy to stack via the adjustable clips, and actually that bit easier to carry multiple stacked units at a time (compared to the L-Boxx) because of the smaller footprint - I.e. you don’t have to have a workout every time! The boxes are robust (as you’d expect) and not too badly priced for what you get. I’ve since ordered a couple more just for fixings etc.

They are very strong well made boxes, but small improvements would be welcomed. I have a stack of 3 that I keep together, screws in a type 1 on top, a type 3 below for my drill and driver then another type 3 for hand tools below. The main con with these is the fact that you can't open a middle case without having to break your thumbs taking them all apart. I found this so annoying so ended up buying some hinges and bolting the lids together, now I can open whatever one I like without having to disassemble the whole stack. Now I couldn't be happier with them

Ok, it's cheaper here than it is in most places... ...and it is nice... but... It's still >£20 for a plastic box because it says Makita on it.It's tough (I regularly use my type 4 Makpak as a step stool, although I wouldn't necessarily recommend this!), it's practical (I know, most boxes are practical, but these clip together and are all regular sizes and clip together), and it looks nice.I do recommend it - my only reluctance is that for the price of 3 of them you can probably get a fab Makita LXT sander or drill/driver.

Great product and an improvement over the previous bespoke cases of various different sizes. For those that complain about lack of inserts - these are available separately which makes sence if there are 4 case sizes and 50+ different inserts. See [...] for which inlay is required, these typically cost around £15. Please also note that compartment inserts and foam inserts are also available.

Makpac cases come in four sizes and are interlocking to make storage and transport easy. The thin plastic inserts dedicated for different tools are generally unnecessary and waste a lot of space, however there are a set of trays which are ideal for screws, nails, etc. The catches can be quite stiff but this can easily be corrected with a bit of Vaseline or other lubricant.

Obviously the box and filler was disowned for the jigsaw but with other fillers they can house drills, sanders etc!I also like the stacking system, a great idea!It just seems to me that it is a pity you cannot buy the tool and box at the same time? Certainly such a waste or world resources, packaging etc, which would not have to be used on purchase day!!!!

I have a lot of Makita stuff and Makpac cases, I need a type 2 to fit my multitool and torch in and a couple of batteries. This fits all of that in very well, I don’t like how the clips are very tight to undo as with all of the other Makita cases I have undo a lot easier, which isn’t a problem because they have never came undone accidentally

Good system for organising loose tools if you're moving them around regularly. The type 2 seems the perfect size for a small general tool kit. It's a lot easier to find things in this compared to canvas tool bag. The plastic latches feel a bit flimsy but they seem to do the job well. Good value for money compared to it's competitors.

It came with an insert which I didn't need nor expect but still easy to remove and put the box to its use. I have another type 2 already, and they interlock so well, I am thinking of buying a type 3 and a type 1 as well. This is a must have for all DIY enthusiasts and Odd Job experts, not just for trade people.

Makita do make excellent tools and their range of boxes are great, if you need to stack them they just clip together. Pity they did not produce them years ago when I was buying the rest of my tools, which came in separate cases. Would recommend them if you have a load of tools to store and carry around.

I bought to put bits tray and a few other things in, the makita boxs are normally quite durable so I can't go wrong buying this, and the price is similar across the board when looking round unless you can find a sort of sale on now and then but that's quite rare

Very Handy boxes. I bought 2 of the type3 boxes first. Then I bought these type 2. I'm very happy with my purchase although if you don't like stickers it takes a while to remove them and all the glue. ( But that applies to a lot of stuff not just these )

Amazing value, genuine Makpac size 2 case for half the price my local stockist is charging. Perfect fit for the Makita inset panel (purchased separately) to hold my new multitool, and a massive saving over the cost of buying the tool with the case.

Love this, just perfect alongside my other Makita cases and all stack together. Bought an insert for my Impact Driver so really happy. Would be better if they had a handle on the side to be carried like a case though... :)

Bought with Makita 837916-4 insert for DHP 481 Combi hammer drill.Good sturdy case which will fit the drill and the side support arm for the drill ( which is almost 41 cm long ) placed diagonally
