The Logitech G Pro mechanical gaming keyboard is a solid, compact footprint (36 x 15cm) gaming keyboard. It has a great three stage tilt controlled by two flaps providing lift at the back of the keyboard; these are marked 4 and 8 for the number of degrees they add (with no feet being 0.) The base of the keyboard has four sticky rubber feet to keep it in place if you are the aggressive gamer. It is also a good benefit as this is a keyboard designed to pack and take with you - the W shaped USB connection with plastic fins is designed to hold on for dear life should the keyboard overcome its rubber feet. That the cable is detachable makes it easier to carry as you don't need to risk the strain relief and wrap the cable up with the keyboard.Logitech don't include a bag; which I do think is something that should be in the box (they do give you a G sticker though.) That aside the only bit of the design i'm not a fan of is the font on the keyboard; the & symbol looks like a stylised letter E.The compact size is a result of the decision to chop off the keypad - and that Logitech haven't provided a row of macro programmable keys at the top - though you can repurpose the function keys. The only non standard buttons toggle are the two round keys at the top of the keyboard; that provide a toggle for illumination and a game mode button. The backlighting on the keyboard is excellent; the lights don't bleed between keys and after playing with the Logitech G Hub app you can paint a name in colours on the keycaps if you wish. For games you can program the keys that light up to focus your attention. You can also disable keys (windows?) so they don't work in game mode (one of the round keys at the top of the screen toggles this.) They have buried the colour settings somewhat in the app but it is easy to configure and seem to be updating it regularly with pre built game settings. Where Logitech have thought this through; is you can save the settings in the keyboard so if you play on your laptop and desktop (say) you can take the config with you.The keys themselves are quieter than the Cherry keys gaming keyboard I have been using for a while - my watch says they are 66db which whilst far too noisy for an office are 5-10 db quieter than the cherry's. If you do want to use it at work or you work at home you can make the keyboard lighting monochromatic.I had to look this up for the professionals the keys have a slightly shorter throw which makes them respond fractionally quicker - i'm definitely not going to be winning games based on that edge and honestly can't feel the difference. Some will take that as a cost for no benefit; but my niece swims in a swimsuit that cost over 300 pounds so if you are serious about your sport you will get the appropriate equipment. There are people playing that a few ms will be the difference between first and second place.I spent an hour coding with it; and it is a nice keyboard for typing on if you need double duty. They keys are nice to type on. My normal work keyboard is the Logitech craft; this is great for hammering c# and python but its not up to the more aggressive key stabbing of game playing. Thats where the G comes to the fore; the build is excellent; the cable design is rugged which makes for good portability and the lighting is easy to configure in the Logitech app. So the question you really need to decide is do you need that numeric keypad; or want dedicated programmable macro keys. If either of those is yes you will need to look elsewhere. Otherwise if you are a pro that will benefit from the quicker keypress delay then you will be happy. For the less professional this is a that enhances your gaming experience.

I've been using a couple of mechanical keyboards for the past year or so - a Razer BlackWidow with green switches (clicky), and a BlackWidow with yellow switches (linear and "silent"). Of the two, I greatly prefer the green switches. as the linear switches, whilst actuating earlier are so prone to typos (as the slightest brush against them triggers a key press) as to make it unusable as a regular keyboard. I also find linear switches pretty unsatisfying to type on, there's no feel, just a smooth motion until the plastic keycap bottoms out on the base of the keyboard with a hollow clatter. This Logitech keyboard uses Logitech's own blue clicky switches, and they make for an interesting comparison. The real selling point of mechanical keys is you know when they actuate (as they make an audible click which you an also feel through the key), and the feel of these keys is every bit as good as the Razer greens. The click is a touch quieter, which is no bad thing as the Razer can be rather annoying to anyone around you, and when they bottom out they do so in a much less abrupt and noisy way. So far so good.Keyboards like these are of course designed as much for gaming as typing, and after several hours in Doom 2016, Gears 5, Metro Exodus, Rage 2, and The Outer Worlds I had no complaints. There is certainly more travel here than the Razer yellows (and presumably the Logitech's own linear red switches), but the feel is so much better and I certainly had no problem with responsiveness. There's also a dedicated "game" button on the keyboard which disables the Windows key, although I can't say I've ever had a problem with hitting that by mistake. One area where I feel Logitech lag behind Razer however is in that of rake. There are three levels of angle adjustment here, but none felt high enough for me. Personal preference perhaps.Another big selling point for these keyboard is the RGB lighting. Whilst I personally can't see the point in this at all, and always set it to a simple constant pale blue, I guess some people like their keyboards to be a light show. There are the usual options for colour cycling, "breathing" and the like, as well as a plethora of user created lighting profiles in the Logitech app. Interestingly I haven't yet found any games which can control the keyboard lighting, despite enabling the option for this in the app. With Razer keyboards some games do all sort of crazy things with the keyboard and mouse lighting. Also, the lighting is kind of dull, which again I don't personally mind, but some might. Razer's lighting is considerably brighter. I also found it odd that in some games the keyboard lighting is immediately turned off as soon as the game runs. This can be overridden by using the dedicated keyboard lighting button at the top right of the keyboard. In terms of general build quality this is on par with the Razer. It's heavy, has basically no flex at all, and feels like it will last a good amount of time. The supplied micro USB cable is braided and feels sturdy. I wouldn't have said no to some media buttons on the keyboard though, as all Logitech offer is the usual FN+ other keys to control volume etc. A few extra custom buttons next to the "game" and "lighting" buttons would have been nice. All in all this is a quality mechanical keyboard which works well for both gaming and typing. As with all clicky mechanical keyboards it's much nosier than a standard membrane keyboard, so you might want to invest in some O-Rings if it bothers you. Even with them installed though, this is never going to be quiet. As long as you're on board with that, this is an easy keyboard to recommend.

IntroductionThe G-Pro is a low profile keyboards with a small size, so it takes up much less desk space. The keyboard is made from aluminium and magnesium and is very heavy. There are 2 levels of feet on the bottom. The box only includes the keyboard, some manuals, and a sticker. Tenkeyless means there is no numberpad on the keyboard. There is also no Enter key so you have to get used to using Return, unless you like a separate number pad.KeysA little like a laptop keyboard but the "clicky" keys are noisier than any other keyboard I've tried. The GL clicky ("a clear audio click with tactile feedback") keys are just 1 of 3 key types you can get from Logitech now; the other two being GL Linear (a smooth, fluid keystroke.) and GL Tactile (a discernible tactile bump). GL Clicky is certainly not suitable for all environments, especially when working in busy locations around others. The other keys are hard plastic.Wired onlyThis is a wired-only keyboard but it plugs in on a separate cable which is strange. There is a button to switch off the Windows key, and to turn off the RGB Lighting. These keys are flat and non-ruberised. Switching off the RGB lighting will turn on the G logo on the keyboard, there is no way to turn this off using the button but it can be achived under Presents > Effect > Off in G-Hub.SoftwareEverything is modifiable with the G-Hub software, which I've already used with the G703/G903 mouse and G613 keyboard. This software is very easy to use and supports as many devices as you like. The software lets you do lots of advanced features including custom macros, altering colours, key binding to keyboard (left mouse button becomes x key on keyboard for example). Button layouts are often stored inside the device and can be moved to another pc without transferring data between computers.G-Hub software did not recognize the keyboard at first. Updating G-Hub to the 2019-October update fixed this issue though.LightsyncLightsync means that keys will also sync up with other devices including certain speaker systems (only 1 I could see), other keyboards and mice based on profiles in the G-Hub software.VerdictThis keyboards lacks a wrist rest that you get with larger keyboards like the G613 which I personally would like to have. The size makes them more portable but the weight does not. The clicky keys let these keyboards down a bit and may disturb others in your vicinity. This keyboard may be suitable if you dislike or don't use number pads.

I will start with what’s most important. If you are expecting the usual mechanical keyboard feel you should know that these switches are not cherries but logitechs own mechanical switches. The big difference is they are clicky just as they are advertised and not clacky like the others. I think most would prefer the clacky sound especially if this is your first mechanical keyboard purchase, and after having used it I still prefer the normal mechanical sound, but if clicky is what you are after, this is it.The build quality is the usual from Logitech, sturdy. I do really like how the usb cable has 2 prongs which are effective in making sure it doesn’t come off on its own.The rubber pads are just perfectly grippy to type and let you easily slide the keyboard aside if need be. My other keyboards often have the rubber pads come off causing the keyboard to wobble as I type but these large ones look like they will last. The RGB animations are fantastic. There are quite a few options prebuilt in, but my favorite ‘random color effect’ just runs through all the keys with random colors and this can be downloaded with the Logitech software for free (among many others). Aside from that I also like the color wave, and sound preset which lights the keys based on the audio being output. I would have really liked a feature to cycle between all the different presets say for example every day, it would be nicer than manually switching on the Logitech software when you get bored.Of the 2 keys on the top 1 controls the RBG on/off. The other controls the gamer mode which disables the windows key so you don’t leave Fullscreen if its hit accidentally – a common gaming keyboard feature. I did not see this written in the instructions anywhere although it may be because I have a review sample. All this RGB does consume energy and the keyboard can even get slightly warm underneath. So, it is good to see the RGB turns off automatically with inactivity, and turns on again without having to press anything. The TKL small form factor keyboards that are coming out such as this do make sense for gamers, but if the goal is to save desk space (and they cost more than their normal counterparts) than I just think the keyboard can be made even more compact. The top 2 buttons can be moved near the direction switches, and the G logo can be removed making the keyboard an inch smaller.

I'm reviewing this keyboard having already owned a (budget) mechanical keyboard, namely the RedDragon Kumara K552, which I bought from Amazon quite some months ago and which has served me well. That one is extremely good value and I've liked it a lot. This new Logitech Pro is lovely. In contrast to my RedDragon, the keys are (of course) clicky, but not as much. The texture is slightly different, more matte/satin, meaning there is less click. The key heft is just right for me and I'm used to mechanical keyboards now having used my cheaper one for quite some months. Yes, the clicking and deeper keys do take some getting used to, but you get used to it surprisingly fast.I really like the feeling and struggle on my regular keyboard in the office now.The lighting scheme on this is really very good indeed. I had always felt that keyboard lighting schemes were somewhat gimmicky and not a feature I would like or use, but it's great on this keyboard - so many options after you download and install the software (Logitech G Hub). I love the 'Contrastic' colour scheme, in which the F keys, cursor keys and top-right keys are a different colour to the rest of the keyboard. There are a LOT of other options. The Starlight option is also really nice - different keys will light up (yellow on dark), like stars in the sky. Sounds gimmicky but it's really well done and is really nice feature. There are no extra USB ports or similar on the keyboard, it's pretty basic in that regard but fine for my needs. If you can stretch to this premium keyboard I think you'll enjoy it and it should last a very long time I would think - a long term investment. If you can't stretch to it then the much cheaper RedDragon Kumara is good - but this is certainly better.I use a wrist-rest with this but I always do with keyboards anyway. Size-wise this is slightly larger than the RedDragon as it has more of a 'bezel'. One of the upsides of the RedDragon, in contrast, is that's essentially bezel-less (which I liked).I rate this keyboard 4.5* and strongly recommend it.

First impressions of this mechanical keyboard after taking it out the box were very good. The lack of a numpad but inclusion of the cursor control keys makes it look different to the majority of keyboards out there. Picking the keyboard up it feels sturdy, but not too heavy. It’s certainly built to be used. The USB cable isn’t attached and needs to be plugged into the back, which makes it more compact and secure when travelling. The connector at the keyboard end is micro USB, but with a larger surround that is supposed to be more stable. One of big selling points is the backlit keys, which I initially thought were a bit gimmicky and unnecessary, but having downloaded the software and tried out the various configuration options, have grown to like it. I’ve ended up with the setting that changes the colour of a pressed key and it then fades back to its original colour.I asked my son to give the keyboard a try with playing Minecraft and he found it quite different initially, but soon got used to it. It’s a bit on the noisy side when in use, but is still quieter than some mechanical keyboards that I’ve heard. He found that it takes a while to get used to after using the more modern style of keyboard, especially laptop keyboards which have much less travel. When I had to swap keyboards around after a fruit juice ‘incident’ he was soon complaining about having to use the old keyboard again while I cleaned it. The keys pop off fairly easily, making cleaning quite simple. He’s got it back now, so I’ve probably lost it for good this time.

The Logitech G Pro provides an all-round, amazing gaming feel. The Logitech GX blue clicky switches, have a nice, sturdy feel to them, that delivers the audible click you want to hear when gaming. The keys offer a great response time with little or no input lag, so perfect for playing in tournaments, as it offers both speed and precision. The RGB features are massively customisable and bright. This was definitely my sons favourite part. He loved the fact he could customise for his gaming. He has been raving about this keyboard and how well his performance improved, in comparison to his previous gaming keyboard. He is very much a Logitech advocate now he has started using them. The detachable cord/cable is a really useful feature, making transportation and moving around easier. Alongside the game mode button and RGB button this allows for accessibility.Aside from gaming. I have also been using this keyboard to type documents. I was a bit unsure when I first started, due to the ‘clicky’ gaming nature of the keyboard, however I am a total convert. It is brilliant!. My typing speed has gone up, so I am definitely not complaining.

My first looks at the keyboard is it's size, great and small with all the main buttons a pro gamer would need.Next the look, and my god is this a sexy keyboard, wow! My first impression when I look at this keyboard is simplicity and smoothness.Next is the sound of the keyboard, this keyboard has a perfect clicking noise when pressing a key, although this is the users preference when buying a mechanical keyboard considering some may like the quiteness. However if you like loud and clicky, you'll fall in love with this! The feel! Finally the feel of this keyboard is fantastic, the rubber-like coated keys feel stunning to put your fingers on, they're aren't just plastic cheap stuff, this feel like quality when typing! The aluminium build, which could, okay, been smoothened down just a little round the edges as it's a bit rough, it seems like a simple manufacture. But my god is feels so nice, with it being brushed and metal you feel like you're paying for a much more expensive keyboard!

What's to like...It's made by Logitech. It's robust and very well made.Nice backlighting which can be switched off via a dedicated button if it becomes too irritating.Braided detachable cable.Keyboard feet.Mechanical full-size keys - very precise but the resulting clicks annoy my wife!If you are a gameR this looks the part :)What's not to like...Noise - if you use this keyboard, you'll be getting divorced any time soon!Compact but oh so chunky :(No USB C - in 2019??? Really.Keyboard profile is too raked - you will need a wrist rest - perhaps one should be included?Overall 4.5 stars, if this was allowed; seriously my main issue was the noise from the precise clicks and as my pc is in the livingroom my wife was not pleased; back then to my excellent Logitech Craft which is an exceptional keyboard at a similar price point.
