I've been using this mouse for some 20 days now. So far it's working great. The laser technology is really nice, mouse works well and smooth on shiny polished table, where my old optical mouse would constantly jump around, so I don't need to use mouse mat any more. It slides very smoothly. It's comfortable, hand doesn't get tired even after using the mouse all day.Seems like battery will hold for ever. Logitech software for adjusting mouse settings also has the Remaining Battery info. When I first turned on the mouse, it said "1045 days remaining." Now it's 1088.The only drawback I can see right now is using the mouse wheel as a middle button. When pressing it, the wheel also scrolls just a tiny bit. This makes it difficult to middle-click on links that are somewhere on a page. For those who don't know, middle-click opens link in a new tab. I solved this by duplicating the hidden thumb button as a middle button, all that is done using the Logitech software which you'll need to download from their website. Other than that, all buttons work as expected, although maybe the Forward browser button might be a bit too far forward for my mid-sized hand. Not very important though, since I barely ever need to use it. The Back button is in a perfect spot.It is taking a while to get used to the mouse though. With my previous one (and all public mice, when using university computers), I knew perfectly well how much I need to move it to reach a link on a page or something. With this one it's somehow difficult. The mouse acceleration and enhanced pointing options are difficult to predict, but without them mouse is a bit sluggish. But this is probably my personal problem, not a fault of the manufacturers.==EDIT==After using the mouse for a while longer I noticed that the previous issue with mouse wheel has disappeared, it works perfectly. The problem with unpredictable mouse movement was solved by uninstalling the Logitech software, everything works fine now. Also, I still have a lot of battery life left, it looks like it will actually last me 3 years.

I've just had this mouse delivered. It's frustrating to use straight out of the box - what the buttons do by default doesn't seem natural, the screen jumps when you try to click a link with the scroll wheel in your browser (to open in a new tab), it wasn't picked up automatically by the Unifying Receiver I already use with my keyboard but, I downloaded the Unifying Receiver software from Logitech's website and it picked the mouse up straight away. I downloaded Logitech's SetPoint software too and, with a little tweaking, it's spot on now. You can change just about anything - so now, I have nudging the scroll wheel left/right to do the same as pressing the left or right arrows on the keyboard and I switched off smooth scrolling (which has stopped it jumping when I middle click)and it's perfect. The scroll wheel's fine, whether it's set to free scrolling or not (you click a button on top of the mouse to switch and it feels natural enough to change this on the fly, depending on what you're doing or what website you're on).Having so many buttons, it makes doing just about anything - especially browsing the net - much quicker. There's the scroll wheel that I use for middle clicking and nudging sideways to scroll through things, there's the 2 buttons on the side that I use for Back and Forwards (for now, at least, I'm sure they could do something more useful) and you can click the mouse where you rest your thumb too (it opens an application switcher by default; I've set it to minimize all windows). It feels really solid (not too heavy, not too light) and it's a really comfortable to hold - good shape and size, nice rubbery material on the sides and smooth, solid-feeling plastic on top. It's bigger than it looks in the photos - it's 11cm long and 7cm across at its widest.I highly recommend this - great mouse, great features, comfortable to use. All I've marked it down on is having to fiddle about setting it up.

Over the past month, I have bought 2 previous mice, both basically cheap and nasty, but the reviews stated they were great (so I guess these people have never used a professional mouse before?) but they were terrible. I have worked in IT and Design for over 30 years and this is the best mouse I have ever used. The Logitech M720 Triathlon medium mouse is totally fantastic. I have large hands and it fits perfectly and feels very comfortable. There is a slight learning curve with the mouse wheel in speed mode, but you can change this via the middle button if it's too fast or too precise for you. And when I say precise, I mean the scroll wheel is amazingly touch sensitive, so it takes a little getting used to,but one you do, no other mouse compares with this. You can also change the sensitivity and whether it's smooth scrolling or not by using Logitech Options free software. Here you can also program all of the 8 buttons to do what you want, and also you can set application specific actions for when you're using an application.Using the mouse on any surface is amazingly smooth with zero drag. It has a hibernation option which saves the battery and comes alive as son as you move it with no delay. It has a hidden button at the bottom which is great, I set mine as the middle click and I love it. Oh, and unlike most desktop mice, it has a power on and off button that you only see usually in mobile mice. The Multi-PC/Device support works a treat and you can set up Logitech Flow, which means that if you have another device like another PC or Laptop, when you move away from the edge of last monitor, it automatically moves the mouse to the other device, without having to select the device buttons on the mouse. Amazing time saver. All in all, I give this mouse 10/10 and I may buy another in case this one ever fails, though it is guaranteed for over 10 million clicks.

I was going on holiday and needed a mouse to use with my laptop. (I'm not fond of trackpads) I use the Classic Microsoft Intellimouse with 5 Programmable Buttons with my desktop PC at home. The Intellimouse is quite a large mouse but the side button placement is perfect and it is actually the most ergonomic mouse I've ever used. The intellimouse is wired so I shopped around for a wireless mouse which was a good size for prolonged use and had good ergonomics. (I find portable mice a bit too tiny and perhaps uncomfortable when being used for long periods.)I agree with all reviewers who have said- Check the size in-store if you can before buying as it is bit on the small side. It's perfect for me and I have medium sized hands.- Middle wheel has issues. General scrolling is okay but see other reviewers comments for all the other problems.- Side buttons could be more ergonomically placed. The side buttons were a deciding factor in buying this mouse so that is the main reason for marking it down.Apart from that:- It's my first wireless mouse and I love the freedom of being wireless.I bought it with me on holiday and it was great not to have the hassle of carrying around and plugging in a wired mouse.- It's just about small enough to be portable. - When I was on holiday I used it on every surface imaginable from tablecloths to glass and never had any issues. I can see how larger hands may have problems though.- Well built. Smooth plastic material and rubber sides make it extremely comfortable to hold. I don't have a problem with the rubber sides which conform to the natural hold of my hand fairly well.- If I could have given it 4.5 stars I would. It's currently retailing at about £35 and I actually bought it new on auction on ebay for £30.

I bought this mouse three years ago and I'm a big fan, I'm surprised at how many poor reviews it has. For me it's still working as good as new, I'm yet to change the original batteries and have had none of the problems described here for quite some time. That said, I do remember having issues when I first bought the mouse, chiefly that trying to use it on a standard wooden surface was a no no. I bought a paper thin mousemat to stick on my desk and it has been flawless since. Given the complaints in the other reviews I would guess that it is a mouse to avoid if a mousemat is not an option. If a mousemat is an option then I would recommend this mouse. The battery life is brilliant and the accuracy etc.is flawless once it is on a compatible surface. I've used the mouse for gaming without any issue and personally find it comfortable to use. As far as buttons are concerned, I tend to only use the left, middle and right click buttons. I don't use the (forward/back) buttons on the side of the mouse. The "infinite scroll" feature is something I've gotten used to over time and would probably miss it if I was to get a different mouse. It's especially useful if you browse long pages and then need to scroll back to the top of the page etc. as you just click the toggle switch and flick the scroll wheel up. That said, it's hardly a necessity. I've never had any issues with the wireless connectivity.Overall I would recommend this mouse due to its reliability and battery life, which I imagine could be an issue in other wireless mouses. But if a mousemat is not an option then you should avoid, and there may be cheaper options which would also provide good battery life and reliability.

I use computers all the time, and having used a small portable mouse for everything for the last year I felt it was time to get rid of the hand cramps and upgrade. I'm very happy with the comfort level of this mouse. Overall this would have been the perfect purchase if not for the scroll wheel:The middle button is very hard to click properly - you have to click exactly inwards in a certain location, else the wheel will move forwards, backwards or sideways - sometimes all at once - meaning you get free actions with your middle click. This is a massive downside for me - lots of CAD software and games rely on being able to hold down middle click to either pan or rotate the viewport, and by default I found these softwares impossible to use with this mouse.HOWEVER, that downside is pretty much negated by the ability to remap buttons using the Logitech SetPoint software you can download from the website. It lets you map any button to any action. To counteract the problems I had with middle click, I mapped "scroll left" to middle click instead. "scroll left" is a much easier button press, with no risk accidental button events. I have also mapped "Ctrl+Shift+T" to "scroll right" making a good set-up for web browsing (middle click closes tabs, ctrl+shift+t reopens them). It's not ideal, because I have effectively lost a button, but it's more than good enough for general computer use. I will be looking for another mouse to use for games, though.Oh, and battery life seems impressive. Using the 2 x AA that came with the mouse, it reports over 1000 days left of use.

I would absolutely recommend this mouse to anyone, I bought one from elsewhere a while ago and while it did die out eventually, it should be telling that I intentionally sought to buy the same mouse again. Some have complained that it's small, but I don't have such problems, maybe I have small hands. In any case the signal doesn't cut off annoyingly like you get with some (such as my previous Microsoft wireless keyboard/mouse) and has good range. The lack of it being wired is also helpful for its flexibility with regard to gaming, as you don't get any wires tugging from an inconveniently short cable.Speaking of which, some may admittedly find the DPI of this mouse to leave something to be desired for some gamers. However, having never used a true gaming mouse myself I can say this one exceeds my expectations. The side buttons can also immediately be assigned without driver hassle, at least in certain games such as Counter-Strike: Source. In general use, the M705 also shines, but admittedly less on scrolling. Although click scrolling can feel slow at first, changing the scroll settings on your OS is an easy solution. Unfortunately the free wheel mode has been frustratingly inaccurate, at least for me, as you'll try to scroll to a particular point on a page and it'll move back a moment later. Even fast movements can cause the scroll wheel to move when click mode is off.The same sensitivity issues also seem to effect the left and right mouse buttons themselves, but besides this I would again recommend this for anyone on a mid-range budget.

I bought this mouse as part of an order for integrated Logitech Wireless Desktop Keyboard MK710 + M705 Wireless Mouse on 25 October, 2015. I still have the original batteries, the present status being 'fair' - 577 days remaining. What more could one ask ?Nicely sculpted shape fits the hand very well and is very comfortable, in part due to the thumb hollow on the left and side that permits fine movement control. The only practical disadvantage for me lies in my hand not the mouse. Being slightly arthritic I find my index finger drops onto the right button and even if the touch is extremely light, with no pparent deflection of the button, it negates the action I take with the left button. This happens with all mice I have used,so it's no reflection on the M705. Can some mouse designer correct this tendency ?Set up is easy with the dedicated Set-Point software. The buttons are easily configurable. The smart scrolling wheel is another first-rate feature. It can be used in free spin mode and is very fast but it is easy to lose control at first. Best to use Set-Point to lower pointer speed and set pointer acceleration to 'low'. Revert to notched rotation by pressing the button behind the wheel. Beware, it can be pressed accidentally and put you into a 'spin' !Works well on any non- reflecting surface and has never given me any trouble in this respect. The unified receiver is great, it connects mouse and keyboard in a second or so. Highly recommended.

This is a good mouse, there's no mistake about that, but now that that has been said, I do have a few issues with it.First the pros:This is a comfortable mouse. The position of the hand is bang on. But those who have big hands do try it first if possible. The weight is just right for me allowing me complete control over it. The feet glide effortlessly on my hard surface mouse pad and the laser tracks brilliantly. The buttons are in the right position and they have a nice feel.Battery life seems to be durable, it lasted the 3 years that they state. The cons:When it arrived the feet seemed like the had glided over an abrasive surface cause they seemed already a bit worn.Odd...The wheel wobbles around 1mm in "free spin mode" which is odd and in "stepped mode" if you lift the mouse and move sideways (and this does not have to be very fast, just normal speed) you can hear the wheel moving sideways. No biggie but really odd.The right side rest for the farthest fingers is nothing but a grip. You wont "rest" your fingers there...Although the buttons seem nice, the left and right click buttons are "loud". I moved from a Microsoft 5000 Desktop BlueTrack Mouse that was already a bit loud. This one takes the crown. For as of this moment is is the loudest mouse I've ever had.So, final thoughts. Do I recommend it? Absolutely! It's a nice mouse and it will get the job done. The batteries have been lasting for over 3 years with daily use.

only used a wireless mouse before, and one bluetooth + wireless device from another that connected to one device that i had to return. With the 3 device set up, the mouse is connected to my Laptop, Tablet and Phone and is easily switched at the click of a button (the mouse i returned has the switch between bluetooth and wireless at the bottom of the mouse which was not ideal)It fits nicely into the curves of my hands, i still had the other mouse with me which was shaped in a conventional way and i realised my fingers feel like they're strained if holding a regular mouse, something i never realised as i'd stopped using external mice for a while but now very important as i'll be working from homeand will be using a mouse more often.Because it fits nicely into the hands there's a weird thing that happens where i feel like my hands are almost getting warm and a bit clammy? it's really weird because my room isn't that warm but i think it's the sensation of the material they used, im not sure - however this is a minor gripeLove the free scrolling feature, another thing that i didn't know i needed until i had it, never realised how many long documents and web pages i visit.I don't really use the gesture button or the back and forward buttons, or the click function of the scroll button, maybe at some point i'll reprogram them to do something else for me.

I run two PCs and and an iMac. The PCs run a flight simulator and the iMac is in everyday use.The Triathlon Mouse is now paired with a Logitech K380 Keyboard, that is the one that will access three different computers. The mouse now enables me to use one keyboard and one mouse for all three computers. The reduction in hardware alone is worth it.The other point worth making is that these two appliances are fitted with batteries which can be replaced quite simply in the normal way when necessary. This saves problems later if you have kit with internal batteries where you finish up having to dismantle things, sourcing the correct batteries then reassembling everything. The Mouse is a comfortable righthand fit and I like the button which is under the right thumb which enables you to switch between computers. The rest of the Mouse properties are more than adequate for everyday use. The pairing arrangements are good, I use Bluetooth for the PCs and Logitech Unifying device on the iMac. The reason for this is that my version of iMac does not have Bluetooth 4.The unifying device is carried inside the Battery Compartment of the Mouse and is simply plugged in to a spare port on a usb hub attached to the iMac.Very pleased with this setup.I can't coment on how long the battery lasts beause I have only used it for a few days.

If repeat ordering is a recommendation, then I must like this mouse, since this is the third one I've bought.Genuinely plug'n'play, this is very easy to set up - stick in the dongle, wait a few seconds and it's ready to go. It has all the usual functions, most of which I never use. It moves smoothly even without a mousemat and I find the scroll wheel works very well - getting it to go at the required speed and stop at the looked for place becomes second nature after a while. But what makes this mouse my favourite is the ergonomic design - it fits my hand perfectly and as a result I get far less discomfort in my wrist than some other mice (mouses?) have caused. On the downside, the reason that this is my third is that I find the mouse tends not to last for more than a year to eighteen months or so before the buttons or wheel start to stick. Each time I think I should try a different brand but after much browsing I come back to this one because, when it's working, it works very well and because I find it so comfortable to use. So recommended but with reservations.Edit: December 2014 and still going strong this time...Edit: Finally died July 2016. Three and a half years of pretty heavy use. And yes, I probably will buy another, though I'll waste some time looking at other ones first as usual...

The mouse itself is very well suited to the hand. Having worked with this now for a few months, I can say from previously really despising working with a mouse, I prefer this to my mac trackpad. (Took almost 6 years to move me away from being a sole trackpad user). With my MacBook, this mouse is responsive, comfortable and precise. The battery I can't say much for yet, I'll try and update this review in a year or so.One thing to note is that the mouse would appear more responsive on an apple device using the bluetooth connection as opposed to the dongle. With my Windows (Lenovo) device the mouse is fluid however I did notice a little lag / stutter when using the universal adaptor with my MacBook. The multi-device pairing works effortlessly,I currently have the mouse paired to two devices simultaneously (one windows and one MacBook). The gestures on my mac work a dream, I do not feel like I am losing much functionality using the mouse over the trackpad as the Logitech Options (setup) included allows customisation of the mouse to include many of our loved mac gestures (swipe windows, exposé etc...).last tip: For the best results - use with a Logitech K780 mutli-device keyboard. This complete wireless setup for the cost is just great!

Firstly, I have experienced over 50 different mouses over my experience of computers. Never have I had or tried any mouse like this one (although I'm not an enthusiast for mice, so I might be obliged to tell if there are better ones). The performance is good, the batteries have been in use for 3 months now and the batteries have 95% of their capacity left. The switch on the bottom of the mouse is very handy, if you take the mouse along with your laptop. The only fault for mouse is that in Autocad and on some other drawing utilities the mouse is not as accurate it could be to work with. Maybe Logitech will understand this sometime soon, or then I might just buy the most accurate mouse there is which obviously costs some $$$.For the price, it might be the best there is. The other fault comes from the Logitech software which is crap as usual. You'll do fine without it.By the way, I don't know why the other reviewer acclaimed that this isn't the Marathon M705, because at least mine is. And my "ultra-fast scrolling wheel" works like a charm. No bugs whatsoever. + When you order from the Amazon.co.uk, I've heard that they are one of the best companies regarding any warranty issues.Solely recommended product!

Been using a Logitech VX Nano for the last 5-6 years. Has been a stunning mouse, which gets heavy heavy use (7-10 hours every day). The left button was finally playing up, so needed a replacement. Some of the reviews for this mouse have been rather pedantic in my opinion. This mouse is the perfect shape, has it's buttons perfectly positioned, is extremely accurate and a joy to use.No idea about the battery life yet, too soon to tell. For those detractors grumbling about the scroll wheel being too sensitive.....it's a hyper-fast scroll wheel!!! It is a (weighted) free spinning wheel, so you can scroll....like....really fast, of course it's sensitive!!!!That's why it has a switch to let you flick it over to being in a "ratchet" mode, which stops it free spinning. Jeese, that's a bit like complaining that your hair gets messed up when the roof of your car is down. Get a life!!The app switcher is a nice touch, with a very discreet button just under your right thumb. But of course, if you're left handed and use a mouse with your left hand, this mouse will be all but useless to you, as it is very right hand orientated, other than that, a very very good mouse.
