I have been driving these tires for about 5 years, almost exclusively on asphalt in the size 40-622 on a cross bike. Every now and then a gravel path, or a field or forest path. Works wonderfully. After 5000km the tire on the rear wheel was completely slippery and had to be replaced. The front tire would have worked, but here too the tread was pretty smooth, possibly 30% profile. In the whole time I haven't had a flat tire. I ran the tire at 3.7 to 4.0 bar at the rear and about 3.5 bar at the front. Weight, rider plus bike is around 100kg in my case. Fantastic comfort and very low rolling resistance. There were no problems at all, although the pressure was marginally low.

Amazon are Amazing. They Fantastically sent me the wrong size by mistake, and then when I requested an alternative, it was on 2 day delivery meaning I couldn't use it, making me very happy indeed. Even more fantastically, my last review pointing out this wonderful issue was rejected as I was not positive enough. I love it when I get sent the wrong product, and really do appreciate it when my review is blocked for pointing out a superb issue. Amazon, you really are lovely, lovely people. Keep up the amazing work! Also note that although this is very usefully listed as 16 inch, further down it shows the 'height' as 15 inch (which it really is). I always request the wrong size when buying tyres in order to make sure they don't fit,

These are fast tires and sticky enough for aggressive riding. I wore through the KOJAK ires that came with my Ghost Speedline 1 after about 6 months and rotations of the tires. After regular flats, I went to Amazon for something like Gatorskins. I found these instead. Great price compared with other tires claiming puncture resistance and I've ridden over all kinds of road debris that Virginia construction pickup trucks seems to dump at every stoplight. I also purchase much heavier 700 X 35C Schwalbe tires for a future road trip and don't think I should have wasted the money - these aren't wearing much at all after 400+ miles of morning, pre-work rides.

The tires ride like a dream. Very low rolling resistance. Schwalbe Marathon have been so for many years with good reason. I took my Dahon Boardwalk out for a 30 mile ride and the tires performed exceptionally well. The tires I had prior were nice, but these are even better. Nothing can affect the quality of bike ride better than the tire selection. The reflective trim on the sidewall is a nice touch.The bicycle shop, that sold the tires, located in San Diego, CA is top notch. They arrived sooner than expected. It was also nice to see the tires wrapped with care and not placed (stuffed) inside another brown cardboard box. Very eco friendly packaging. Also included was a nice cycling cartoon and some other paper goodies.

The Schwalbe Marathon Racer is the lightest, and Schwalbe says the fastest, of the many confusing versions of the Schwalbe Marathon series of bicycle tires. Of course, the folding version is lighter still. Most touring bicyclists will probably opt for these cheaper wire bead versions of the Marathon Racer. On a recent 1100 mile bicycle tour I had no flats on the first half of the tour, but a number on the second half, so I give a neutral rating on flat protection to this tire. I am satisfied enough to have bought a new pair of Marathon Racers to use on my new bike. I have not tried all the number of bicycle touring tires on the market, but from my experience, if you want a touring specific relatively lightweight bicycle tire,

it is a third copy that I buy in anticipation of having to replace one day one of the 2 copies already mounted on my vélotaff. the already mounted units (5000-6000 km covered) show good puncture resistance. not yet any significant wear, except that a crampon "peeled" (a layer of rubber has come off) (but no significant consequence to use). this new copy weighs 434g. effective width, at 6 bar, on 17 mm rim: 29 mm. there were more resistant and lighter at the same time: the supremes, which are no longer sold in the dimension recommended for my bike (normally 28 max). but it's better in strength and grip than Continental Grand Prix 4000 S II,

when i ordered my tires the estimated shipping date was 20 april, i finally received an update ,10 days later that it would be delivered 6 may. it is now 13 may and still have not received my tires and my bike has been sitting idle. i ordered the same tires from amazon and paid a little more but the extra money was worth it to be able to ride my bike again. when and if i ever receive the tires from this company they will be returned and hopefully one day get my money back. customer service with this company is a joke, pay the extra couple of dollars and order from amazon.

Was mounted by me only 1 month ago, rolls excellent, weight is fine. There were still no breakdowns, but after a month that is no miracle. What you need to know: The thing can and must be pumped really steinhart. He is really noticeably harder than his predecessor, but also rolls a bit better and has (at least in my imagination) still more traction. Little defect: the swallow Nexus looked somehow less austere. Evil (for me): It has about 1cm more outside than my predecessor, now I can not mount the guard in the front. As shown in Fig.

These replaced some crappy tires that came on a folding bike. I have schwalbe marathon 700's on my commuter/touring bike and haven't had a flat in 2 years, I ride every day in all weather. The 20" were WAY lighter then the others. Before I kept thinking how slow the bike was, now the bike is almost as fast, but,, still not as fast as the big bike but I ain't no racer. Hopefully the race guard material is as thick as on the 700 marathon.P.S. Paid full price, didn't get nothing for this review and I am a verified buyer

I got a pair of 26"x1.5 size. This tire is one of the very few 26" tires available for city/commuter use and it exceeds all my expectations. Ride is comfortable and quiet; very good and predictable grip on pavement even when wet. OK for gravel road as long as you don't ride too fast. My only gripe is Tubeless Ready is not available. For those who wish to convert their old 26"-wheel mountain bike to a commuter, this tire is perhaps one of the best choice out there in quality and value. Thank you, Schwalbe.

I bought one to have as a spare. Currently I have a pair of them on my Cannondale T2 touring bike. They each have 2000 miles on them and look like they're good for at least 2000 more. Rugged and durable. Not a fast tire, but the rolling resistance is OK. We have a lot of broken glass on the roads around here, and never had a flat due to glass. Only one flat so far, and it was a large staple through the sidewall that I think would have killed any tire.

Every bike tire comes with some compromises but this tire fit my needs pretty well. Schwalbe is a reputable brand and this tire is the lightest in their marathon series. Decent tread for sun and rain. Great for city ridding and good enough for some races given the bike I have. No flats yet... not expecting the most resilient, flat-proof tire, but the protection is an upgrade over what I had.

Find the Marathon Racer a top tire, fast and easy as advertised. However, it must always be driven with enough pressure so that it is really fast. The end of the service life is announced by more frequent mishaps (already experienced at the rear tire). The lifetime is case m.e. In order, but swallow can also pay the low weight. All in all, I am very satisfied with the racer.

upgraded the tyres on my hybrid bike from kenda kwest 700x32 to schwalbe marathon racer 700x30. can't say muchabout punture resistance (300miles - no puntures yet) but noticed a great improvement to rolling resistance andacceleration. well worth fitting just for performance upgrade, from dull bike to sports bike

Need fast rolling tyres for race which was 40 miles on road, 10 miles off road. Not great off road, obviously but held up ok. Super fast on the road so perfect for what I needed. Great for commuting. So much faster than my previous specialized armadillo semi slicks where were slow & heavy.
