Have you ever heard the phrase ' if it ain't broke, don't fix it ' ?That could certainly be applied to LMA Manager 2006 but that is not to suggest that there is anything wrong with this game because to be honest LMA Manager 2006 is a great and worthy addition to the series.But as previous reviewers have mentioned there does appear to be little difference between the 2005 and 2006 versions! It just depends if you see those changes as worthwhile or not, whether or not they improve things!Generally LMA Manager 2006 is an improved version of LMA Manager 2005 whilst retaining all the qualitiy ingredients that make them such classic management simulations.LMA Manager 2006 has the heart and character that has always come with the series whilst also having that individual streak that suggests it is the best one yet.Indeed there are better graphics, though the colour scheme on certain aspects is perhaps questionable. Certainly the opening intro is much more jazzed up, with music to match. There are improvements with the game play too as the LMA series continues to strive to be as realistic as possible, which it does succeed at with this 2006 version. Also the transfer system has become more comprehensive for example when signing players, which when first heard of seemed daunting-again if it's not broke, why fix?-However once you are used to this it is hardly noticeable and certainly does not complicate matters.Generally certain aspects of the game have become slightly more comprehensive but it is not to detract from the fact that it is another great game. Even with tactics you need to have a better sense of than before but really that goes without saying.Again it can be a rollercoaster ride of emotions in trying to succeed as a manager and when it gets frustrating its all too easy to blame the game rather than yourself but a bit of patience will take you far!

For those people who prefer to organise and manage football teams rather than play alongside them (FIFA 06 PRo Evo etc.), then look at this the most powerful edition of LMA Manager is going to be released on the 18th November 2005Aside from the obvious seasonal variations, a new and improved game and database engine has been implemented to make the game much more powerful than before (More teams more leagues more players More everything).In addition, a hugely realistic transfer market system has been developed, providing improved transfer market AI that enables more complex contract negotiations,greater personality from the CPU controlled managers and advanced decision-making by players.So don't expect to be able to buy any other manager's star player and key goal scorer just by offering a cash amount above their actually worth (this means that its like the real world offer thierry henry £20,000 contract he wont come no matter if you bought him for 120 mil). In fact, expect to have to go deep into contract clauses and staggered payment options and many other brutally taxing areas of discussion before being able to get your own way.Still, it's not all statistics and budget calculations though. LMA Manager prides itself on its visually rewarding match experience (you can watch the match in full glory), which has been further improved, offering more emotional animations, such as shouting, frustration, jostling and of course 'gesturing'.The 3D match pretty much defines what LMA Manager is all about letting the manager make his decisions based on what he sees players actually doing... rather than continually looking at a page of stats. So look forward to better graphics more stats and loads more features.

When I first got my PS2 I got 2 games, Pro Evolution soccer 3 and LMA 2004. I have waited until now to update and to be honest, it has been worth the wait. LMA 2006 has changed a lot but in some ways has gone full circle with many features I have seen before either on other games or other versions. The transfer market is great and offers the most amazing search options not to mention being able to offer player swaps or payments based on appearances. It is more dificult, thats for sure but if you work hard you can build a great squad. Despite the fact that most cheats are only available if you fork over cash, I will let you in on a secret.If you manage 2 teams you can use the second as a feeder team and buy good and young players for 10,000 each and sell your old or crap players for double their worth. OK so cheating is not the answer, but hey, I just wanted to help you all. Anyway this game is difficult but really addictive and great fun.

I have recently bought the new LMA, and was pleasently surprised by the quaility of the new game. Not only have they made it a harder game, as opposed to winning everything in one season on previous games, they have also made it more realistic. If a player does not rate your team, they will not join it, plus the fact that you no longer have to pay extortinate amounts of money to sign just one player. this game IS the best yet, and i cannot wait for the 2007 version, it has to be another improvement.

this game is just the same as lma manager 2005 and i was really dissapointed because i was bored straight away because i had played the last one so much.It says that there is a all new menu but there isnt it i sexactly the same and the music is even the same on football one - boring.BAsically this game is brilliant if you don't have lma 2004 or 2005 that is my conclusion.

LMA Manager 2006 is the best manager game on PS2 by miles.Anyone who likes football management games will be playing LMA for months.Everything is so realistic - players, results etc. The in-game graphics are the best of any management game.The only bad thing is the long loading times but everything else is excellent - highly recommended.

cant give this game up . it is so good i love how you can create your own mangers and the reaction proves to be excellent. recieved for christmas with no regrets as i would like to progress and build my mangerial rating on lma 2006.

Never seen a management game that comes within an acre of this. Mourned when they stopped doing them. When my PS2 died, I bought another, just so I could carry on playing LMA.

Played on this constantly when it was originally released. Even now it is still good to play, despite the fact there can be the few odd glitches
