I had Lego Marvel Super Heroes: Universe in Peril (Nintendo 3DS) a while back and I really struggled with it, as you can read in my previous review, so I must admit I was a little bit dubious about this game because I didn't want the Lego games to be ruined and Lego Star Wars is my favourite combination. Needless to say I had nothing to worry about, Lego have returned to form and this game is AMAZING!!!!It's quick and easy to pick up and you have to work through the levels exploring the areas to get all the necessary studs to complete true Jedi and find the canisters and red bricks. If you should lose you hearts you break apart, lose some studs and get to carry on.This games goes even further by giving you side tasks to do during the game for additional gold bricks and characters like hitting 15 storm troopers while you are in the tie fighter. I love this feature as it adds a bit more challenge to the games. Another new feature is that you get to explore part of the planet that each of the levels is set on, such as Jakku and the resistance base, which also contain side missions that yield canisters for mini kits and Cabonite Blocks that you can unlock additional characters with that are from the original movies! And speaking of the original movies there are also levels dedicated to the original films (based on the gold bricks you have) and they haven't cheaped out by throwing in the levels from Lego Stars Wars: The Complete Saga, on no, they have completely redeveloped the levels so they are totally different.Another great element which a previous review mentioned is that they use the voices from the films which is a nice touch but does mean you need to play with the volume on during the game as there are no text alternative, but the cut scene are hilarious!!! My personal favourite is from Endor, fans of the original films will love the take on a classic line. The attention detail is amazing as well as the millennium falcon looks exactly like the one I built at Christmas, right down to the finer lego detailing that you can see on the ship. The only gripe I have with this game, and it's minor is that it takes a while to load when you move through the planets or the levels (well it's unsurprising really given the details and amount of gaming included) but the coders have included a boredom buster in the form of a retro space invaders-esque game that you can play as the millennium falcon shooting tie fighters, or if you are in hyper space you can move the ship around.I am so happy with this game and that it contains so many elements from the original games to make it enjoyable for any level of gamer. This one is a keeper!!

Another year another lego game, the only real question is how does this game stand out compared to its predecessors?Well, I would say pretty well. Graphically the game is gorgeous and really pushes the Wii U to its limits as it looks almost as good as the more powerful consoles versions. The core mechanics of gameplay remains the same as previous lego games but with a more varied puzzle mechanic allowing the players to compete tasks multiple ways. There are also vehicle sections to add much needed respite from the usual platforming. The game is full of light humour and allows plenty of replay value as you can return to completed levels with new characters .I have noticed that the game does glitch and freezes (it's happened a couple of times) and this is after the update. Whether this is due to poor programming or simply that the game is just too much for the wii u I'm uncertain .I would say this game is a great experience but I simply couldn't give it 5 stars as there are more original and better games out there.

Just plain old great fun. It's not a game you can lose as such, you just succeed in varying degrees and for the completionist there are loads of things to find and win.Gameplay is pretty straightforward but this is a good game for parents and kids to play together with the 2 player mode really bringing the puzzle solving teamwork elements to life. There's enough variety with platform style play, aerial combat and even simple cover-shooter sections. The PS3 version is not as nicely rendered as current gen consoles but there's stil plenty of detail here, the framerate only stutters occasionally when there's a lot exploding on screen but generally it runs smoothly. The humour is slapstick and silly and plays around with the film's narrative nicely. The only thing I found a little disturbing at times was battling the stormtroopers, oddly enough. When you surprise them having a party in the Starkiller Base pool or playing volleyball on Jakku I kind of wanted to sneak by and leave them having fun.

(Firstly, for Wii U I didn't suffer any freezing and bugs, although when first playing the game I was told to update, so they have fixed it presumably) I preordered this game, and it arrived on release date - and once again TT Games create an outstanding lego video game. Comapared to the original lego games and even the current ones, The Force Awakens by far succeeds with the most with high quality graphics and lighting effects. They have created a few new actions and puzzles to the lego games, with up-close combat battles and new special moves for the cast, utilising their characteristics and weapons. There are multibuild puzzles, allowing you to build more than one object which moves the mission on - and once rebuilt into something else, secrets, red bricks and minikits can be discovered.Great lego humour and an amazing film franchise all come together to aid a 5 star game - I recommend you buy it.

I am having a lot of fun with this Lego game. It is your typical 'Lego game'- bash things up, build things, shot enemies, and collect items, completing mini quests along the way, eventually using characters of your choice. There is also a new build system, where the same heap of brick can build two or three items, which may help find a secret or give you additional studs. The graphics on the vita game are stunning, crystal clear and stunning to look at. The controls work very well, not at all confusing, and feel right where they should be.This is definitely a fun game for all ages, not difficult, and it does seem to get true Jedi status quite quickly. Finding everything for the quests can keep you busy, and adds a little challenge. Although I am an adult I really do enjoy playing through, having a laugh at the humour, bashing up a whole heap of things, and enjoying saving the galaxy in my own way!

It's a good game (so far haven't completed yet) but I will say one thing to all the people there that are thinking of getting this. Unfortunately the optimisation here for the 360 isn't the best and has constant frame drops. I don't understand why lego/TT didn't just reduce the polygons in some models for 360 as it's obvious that this was intended for higher gen consoles and devices. If your gonna play this try your best to reduce how much you destroy at one time during intense times as the more bursting studs on screen the slower it will go. And the odd special effect in the game will cause a slow down. It would be nice to have a graphics menu similar but not identical to pc.Maybe a future free DLC or patch which deletes or changes some assets for the lower powered consoles if possible. Good fun game. Love the flying mechanic. performance can ruin it the fun...

Crashes in the first minute of play ... Not a good start .Update ...DO NOT PRESS THE " L " edge button with this game , this is causing my game to freeze with a high pitched whine and a frozen screen that needs a hard reset .When it asks you to use the " L " button ( when it wants an action ) it is referring to the left joystick style button on the top of the wii u controller. Now that I can play the game it seems to have all the humour I was expecting from a Lego game.I have increased star rating to four , one star still knocked off because of initial experience. So far no more crashes, will update if this changes .

We bought this for my son for his birthday, he loves all the lego series of games, so we knew we would be on to a winner with this one and we were not disappointed, my son loves this game, it follows the same pattern as the other games and is very easy for him to follow alone or to play with a second person. It is a great game for giving younger children goals to work towards and does not contain anything that I wouldn't feel happy with him seeing. I would definitely recommend this game to others and we will be looking forward to more lego games in the series.

Love all the lego games and this one is just as good as the rest. They are easy to play, save well so you can pick it up and put it down whenever you want and if it’s for a young person limit their screen time as so many save points there is no “I need to finish this level first” and then the level takes another 45 minuted!! Young and old can play together working as a team so we can include the youngest at Christmas not just the older ones. And no blood filled killing!

Just got Nintendo ds2 XL so this is my first game ever. Struggled at first as I'm a complete newbie. Once we'd cracked the basics with building the Lego items it's fairly easy to progress. Mixture of puzzles and fighting. All fairly easy once you know what you're doing. Great graphics. Video interludes are great. Voices are taken from the film and the story follows the film pretty closely. I bought this for my just turned 7yo and he loves it.

Tells the story nicely with some fleshing out and the usual Lego humour. Game mechanic has been nicely expanded compared to previous installments, enabling more meaningful cooperation between an experienced gamer and a 6-year-old playing together, which is important when the games take over the family room. Argos had it in stock locally and at a keen price so that made a last-minute Christmas purchase not only possible but palatable!

Bought this ostensibly for my gf's son to play (aged 9) who loves it, however his mum has actually spent the majority of game time on this one!! Her job is pretty stressful and she says she adores the way the game feels so solid and that the sound effects give a really pleasurable "crunch" and "smash" feeling! It's not terribly difficult to eventually bash your way out of most situations and is really good fun in 2-player

14.3.2018

Bought this game for my 5 year old son as he has a few other lego Xbox games. I find it is equally as enjoyable for him as it is for me (24 years old) it has humour and follows the story lines. It is great as we can play two player and work as a team which enables me to help out with the parts my son struggles with. Definitely reccomend as well as the other lego games that are available.

Packaging in great condition. No damage to the game itself, and the Finn figure is included as stated, sealed and all parts accounted for. Would've liked to have got the deluxe edition, but I would've rather had Finn than the Season Pass, as it's only £7.99 to get it seperate. Only played the first 2 levels, but they're great. Can't wait to play more!
