I've always been a big fan of Marvel comics since I was a kid, along with Lego and Video games this quickly became a high priority game for me to play.- Main story -The main part single player of the campaign is largely puzzle based. The puzzles for the most part are fairly simple with only one or two of them not being obvious within seconds of seeing it which, I can't expect too much from with a game aimed mostly at children. They are usually based around one of your current party members powers and require you to use that power to solve. A lot of these are impossible to do until you have beaten the game and are able to come back and do the level with any character you wish which, does bring a bit more replay value into the game.Between the puzzles there is combat but again, nothing spectacular or frustrating. Most of the 'nameless goons' you come across can be taken out easily enough from mashing the attack button wildly. At the end of each level is a boss fight that are based again around solving puzzles that will bring down the enemy you are against whilst fending off hordes of goons trying to stop you. Again, nothing too hard but these fights do look and feel impressive for the most part, especially when taking down foes such as Sandman or Magneto. That's pretty much the main single player.Aside from the pretty easy puzzles and combat there is the story behind the game, this is the part that kept me the most interested. The story is quite fantastic keeping the quirky humor of past Lego games and adding it to the Marvel universe. Again, nothing complicated with the story but it is incredibly fun to watch and be a part of with constant jokes (some of which only avid comic fans will understand), references (such as some Samuel L Jackson movie references) and all around silliness that can be fun and entertaining for both children and adults. All around, it makes the easier content of the game seem less of an issue with it being something you don't actually think about whilst playing. Each level should last around 30-60 mins depending on length and how much time you spend messing around collecting everything There about 15 main levels and about 10 bonus levels after you have completed the game so there is quite a lot of time to be spent here (I can't remember exactly how levels from memory).- Free Roam -The free roam is essentially just a few different types of 'quest' copy and pasted around. For the most part these are small puzzles, races or 'fetch quests' with a golden Lego brick or character being a reward. There are a small number of unique quests but for the most part you will find yourself repeating the same task over and over again. It does get old quickly.Pedestrians are unable to be harmed and there is also no penalty such as police if you start smashing up the city so planning to rip up the town with your favorite villain gets boring really fast if you are looking for some retaliation from the police or a passing super hero. That I can sort of understand, can't have children attacking innocent civilians after all (think about the children!) but even as a hero, your options remain the same. There aren't any 'random encounters' of having to fly in and save the day or something along those lines, it's just doing those same few quests repeatedly until you have done them all leaving the city a empty place to fly around.Quite disappointed with the free roam. As said, it could have really done with some sort of 'random encounter' type thing like in some other free roam games to keep things interesting, or the ability to cause chaos with some villains.- Characters -The description boasts 'over 100 characters', which the games does...sort of have. The amount of characters is pretty outstanding with only a few worthwhile characters remaining absent from the roster. The main thing about this though is that near all of them are carbon copies of another character with a different skin. It's quite disappointing really and when playing the story a second time to get collectibles you will likely find yourself using the same few characters for each task.- All the 'big figs' are near identical in game play. The only thing different here is essentially their skin.- A lot of characters such as the Human Torch or Spider-Man become obsolete because other characters such as Ironman and Venom can do the exact same thing as them plus more.- Some of the characters require a lot of hard work that really shouldn't be needed for a character of their popularity or ability. Deadpool (my favorite character no doubt) is one of these characters, leaving very little left to do in the game by the time you unlock him. (though his presence is in throughout the entire game, it's a fair trade)- There are some well known and much loved characters that aren't in the game at all such as Rogue and Nightcrawler, whilst some really odd choices have somehow made it in...like Squirrel Girl...- With most of the characters having near identical move sets with the same abilities across multiple characters, non of the characters really seem unique. The only character that feels unique is...Squirrel Girl...- 100+ characters also includes alternate costumes, of which at least half of the characters have one...Ironman has 7. Very few of these costumes change the way the character plays.- Overall -The gameplay isn't that difficult, as to be expected from a game aimed at children. The story is brilliant and entertaining throughout. The freeroam is a nice feature though it gets old fast. The character list, whilst impressive, could have been done better to make each character more 'unique' rather than 5 individual characters being able to do the same as what 100+ can do.It also suffers from some freezing issues. I've seen a few people mention it and it has happened to me three times whilst playing. It's something all the Lego games have had and probably won't get fixed, which is a shame.I'm glad I played it, I had fun with it but now there isn't really much left to do in the game. It's worth a buy but if you're really not sure, I would recommend at least renting it because it is a very fun game to have played.

My kids love these LEGO games and I have to say I do too. They feature a massive amount of content and challenges and each game goes to great lengths to capture the license in LEGO form. LEGO Marvel Super Heroes is no exception and offers a large sandbox New York City (and helicarrier). The main plot sees Loki, Dr Doom and other super villains attempting to collect galactic blocks in order to summon Galactus to destroy the world and the Avengers and other super heroes trying to stop them. It's all very random, but it doesn't really matter in this kind of game.Virtually every major (and minor) character from the Marvel universe makes an appearance either in the game or as a collectible.Certain heroes have powers which are required for certain puzzles. For example the Hulk can rip and smash certain sections, Spiderman can sense hidden switches, Magneto can manipulate metal switches, Jean Grey can control minds and so forth. Aside from the main mission there are various standalone levels which can be triggered by visiting areas of the main map. It's bright, colourful, and offers a very large amount of gameplay for the price. Kids will love it.Why only 4 stars? Well like all LEGO games, it suffers from inexcusable flaws. The controls are horrible, particularly when flying or webslinging but even for jumping and fighting. It's virtually impossible to fly with any precision and this can be intolerable for some of challenges. In multiplayer mode too there are a range of glitches ranging from obscured objectives, confusing character selection and audio stutters. And then there are crashes. They don't happen but when they do, the only recourse is to reboot the console. All these things point to a production-line mentality at TT which either doesn't have the time or the process to test and refine games to the level they deserve.

I bought this for my girlfriend at Christmas and needless to say she is loving it. Anyone that has ever played a Lego game before will know how funny and enjoyable they are to play and this is no exception. This time around there is a HUGE and i really do mean a HUGE amount of characters to play with and as usual you will need to play as different characters to access different parts of the game (if you want to 100% complete it) which means multiple play-thoughts which gives this game lots of replay value! Did i mention that the game looks fantastic and is easily the best looking LEGO game to date which when combined with the Marvel story makes for an epic gaming experience.VERDICT: When myyounger cousin was staying with us for New Years Eve he was playing on it for hours and also said how much he was enjoying it, well that's the thing with LEGO games, anyone regardless of age will enjoy the experience and have lots of fun trying to work out the puzzles along the way. My one negative point (if it can be seen as one) is that many of the puzzles seem to be the same as ones in past games so if you played LEGO: Indiana Jones for example or LEGO: Batman you should have a good understanding of what to do without much thought. I'm nit picking truth be told and i'm glad i bought the game for my other half, Graphics on Xbox One take the game to the next level in my personal opinion.RECOMMENDED for any LEGO fan regardless of age, it's lots of fun to play and worth every penny especially if you want to relax on the sofa as a break from the usual Shooter games is most welcome!

Lego continues to deliver hugely fun games based in different worlds, this one the Marvel Universe. Much like the previous Batman games, it doesn't follow the plot line of any of the available Marvel films. And while this does mean that there is something lost in not exploring familiar set pieces, it does allow for plenty of cross over fun. Having Wolverine next to the Human Torch, next to Iron Man is like the film you wish, but could never practicably happen. There's not a massive amount that's different here - we're still smashing stuff, building stuff, finding minikits and red bricks, but the levels and the world map are glorious - really fun to explore and beautifully made. The voice acting for the characters is good, and the story is suitably epic. There's plenty of humour as well - my favourite being the side mission to get the 'snakes off the gosh darn hellicarrier'. Lego does comedy so well, and there's plenty of good material to play with.I'm a little bemused as to why Mr Fantastic can turn into, among other things, a wrecking ball, a lighthouse and a water pump, but beyond that the depiction of the Marvel characters is excellent, and the range of powers used in lots of different combinations. The balance of getting coins and unlocking stuff is good too, meaning you don't have to replay missions a hundred times - my absolute bugbear in previous Lego games.Overall, great fun. If you like Marvel or like Lego games, definitely pick this up!

Great game, I actually bought it not longer after it was released for £30. Huge variety of characters to play as, especially fun in free roam. The story missions are fun and the fact that certain areas and 'trophies' are gated adds some replay value. By gated I'm referring to the fact that certain areas in the levels can only be accessed by characters that can only be unlocked much later in the game, so you can go back and solve the previously impossible puzzles with a characters special ability. I had the most fun just flying or swinging round city completely the vast array of side-quests which for the most part are pretty cool and reward some nice unlockables. The only negative and the reasonI deducted a star is that there is a bug in the game that causes it to crash when switching characters. This bug can occur A LOT of times and after some research I discovered it was something to do with game saves, and that the only real fix was delete the save file and start again. Luckily this only happened to me once fairly early on but I feel that such a game breaking bug warrants deducting a star.I'm 22 years old and I've definitely had my money's worth from the game, currently at £15 I'd argue this is one of the top 3 value for money games currently on the XBOX One.

Easily the best Lego game so far, and I've played them all. My girlfriend and I had so much fun playing this. I'm sure it's great for kids but it's equally great for comic book nerds like me. I loved all the little in-jokes and references to other franchises (there's a particularly funny one that mentions the film Snakes On A Plane that got me giggling), plus who wouldn't get a kick out of seeing The Hulk do the vacuuming? Most of the little puzzles that you have to complete are pretty easy but there is the occasional part where you might find yourself scouring the area for ages trying to find one tiny thing you've missed. The only truly major drawback for me was the flying, especially as Thor. For some reason the button to go higher is also the same button to make you fly faster which can get confusing. If you're trying to do some intricate flying you can frequently go zooming off in another direction without wanting to. It's a little easier as Iron Man but still fiddly. The split screen can be a bit off-putting too but if you've played any other Lego games you'll be used to that. None of these flaws take away from how much simple fun you can have playing it though.Thoroughly recommend buying this game, you won't regret it!

First let me start by saying I have not actually played it myself so I cannot really comment on gameplay etc. However, I got this for my little brother (11) for Christmas, who absolutely loved it. The fact that it is a 2-player game made it easier to make my decision as well, and the fact that my boyfriend spent the rest of Christmas in front of the ps4 with my brother playing this game shows that it was entertaining, fun and very "playable" in the sense that it was challenging enough but not too hard.I asked my brother what he specifically liked about the game and he said the fact that you can change characters, and that you need specific characters for certain parts of the game was fun,and that it was lots of things to do and explore. My boyfriend said that it was a fun game, although he would perhaps not buy it for himself, but it was a lot of fun to play with someone younger, and that they had managed to include a lot of interesting characters that he recognised from comics etc.All in all, I would say that this is a very good game for perhaps a bit of a younger audience (although no judgment here if you're 40 and love Lego and Marvel!), but that it can be a lot of fun as a family activity. Very happy with the purchase!

Firstly, I'd definitely say that this is a lot of game for your money. By the time you've worked your way through the campaign (twice, if you want to "100% the game") and done all the side missions/activities/races etc, you will have put in a lot of hours. At the time of writing, I think I've accumulated about 15hrs play time and there's still loads left in the game to do.It's also a lot of fun. I think some people are put off games like this because they are seen as "for kids". Well, they may be good for kids, but they're a lot of fun for adults too. Call me a 31 year-old child if you like! There funny dialogue and animations throughout the game (some of which are clearly meant to amuse adultsmore than they would a child just through references that children may not be familiar with). The game isn't quite perfect. You will encounter the odd glitchy moment, and most of the puzzles aren't exactly difficult to figure out (usually it's just a case of knowing which character you need to use and the rest becomes fairly obvious). Don't let that stop you getting the game though. It was £31 when I bought it, and I consider that a bargain considering how many fun hours of gaming you'll get out of it.

My young son was hugely excited about getting this, and asked me to pre-order it for him back in October. With my Amazon Prime account he would get delivery on November 15th - the day of release - and he had arranged for a friend to sleep over the following day, specifically so they could play the game together and explore it for the first time. He counted down the days and was very disappointed when it didn't arrive on the 15th. He was even more disappointed when his friend arrived on the 16th, but the game still didn't arrive. In the end my husband drove 15 miles to our nearest major town and bought the game from Game so they could still have their promised sleepover and play the game. The Amazon package finally arrived today - three days late - and is, of course, being returned. It is the second time in two weeks that Amazon's Prime service, when 'fulfilled' by Royal Mail, has let us down (the previous time it caused great disappointment on a birthday).NB feedback from the boys is that the game is 'fantastic' and certainly it's kept them enormously entertained, with them particularly enjoying the ability to customise characters, so no faults with the game, just the delivery!

Marvel Super Heroes are assembling for an action-packed, brick-smashing good time! LEGO Marvel Super Heroes offers an original storyline in which Nick Fury calls upon Iron Man, the Hulk, Thor, Spider-Man, Wolverine and other heroes spanning the Marvel Universe to save Earth from such threats as the vengeance of Loki and the hunger of Galactus, Devourer of the Worlds. LEGO and Marvel fans will enjoy classic LEGO video game adventure and humor, while playing as their favorite Marvel characters.LEGO Marvel Super Heroes is the best thing to happen to Marvel games since 2006's Marvel Ultimate Alliance. It's a warm and witty, multi-layered approach to the brand that ties in hundreds of Marvel's most iconic characters, settings, and stories. While you can knock out the campaign story in around eight hours, the world is rich with content, and I've found myself up late every night for the past week playing for "just one more hour." It may not offer the challenge or player-driven context of this year's other open-world games, but those games would be hard-pressed to deliver as much fun and happiness as you'll find in Traveler's Tales latest.

In one word, this adventure is truly spectacular. The game is all the best we've seen from Lego games over the years, it's got a wonderful character roster like Star Wars, a solid original story that is well voice acted and a brilliant and interesting hub like Batman. The character roster is one of the best things that this game has, as it is huge and comprehensive, containing A-list favorites like Captain America and Spider-Man, as well as ones only marvel fans will recognise, like Wizard and Taskmaster. The great thing about the characters is the obvious care put into them, from the way some characters fly to how they fight enemies. The gameplay is fairly standard with regular well-designed levels and often easy puzzles, though there is still plenty of fun to be had in the main levels as well as the extensive hub.On the PS4 the graphics are very pretty in levels and character design even if it's not mindblowing. In conclusion, the game is heaps of fun and beautifully charming, the best of Lego games and Marvel that we've seen in a long while.

Lego Marvel SuperHeroes is a game in a sandbox world. For the game is what it says i would not spoil the game but it has a base close to the avengers movie which came out in 2013. It has all of the characters as in ps3 and xbox. The game buttons are h which is attack hold h to aim, j which is jump and for flying characters j j is fly and in flying press j j you get speed bost. k is a aming button as well it shoots out things for diffrenet characters e.g iron man shoots lasers. if you hold u you press u you open charaters. hold u and there is special things for different people. there is extra missions but you need gold bricks. i have found a problem with my game that it dose not let me countine mission.but if you have this problem you need to rebout it and it would have safed. I enjoyed this game and it is addicting try not play it in one day! The downloding takes quite a while with it with steam. when dowloaded open it in your computer press play and the game will get launched.MM aged: 10/11

I'm a fan of the Lego games, and snapped this up on day 1. As with all the Lego games, it was fun, a bit silly in places and generally a good way to spend the time. Unfortunately this was marred a little by some graphical and model glitches - particularly annoying where a character gets stuck unable to extricate himself. There's always a way out - switch players and use a 'travel point' to jump to another location on the map - but you shouldn't have to.Having now completed the main story arc, another annoyance has revealed itself. Among the quests on the map are 'personal' flying races - where you use a flying character to nagivate through rings with a (fairly tight) time limit.I've found the flight controls, combined with the fact that characters automatically land when close to the ground, to be frustrating. All in all - A fun game, but not quite up to the high standards of Lego Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, or the Batman games. I'm not going to be religiously trying to 100% this one.

Honestly can't recommend this game more. I've spent many, many happy hours playing this with both my daughters. The central part of the game is the wonderful Manhattan hub. This is a recreation of Manhattan in typical Lego fashion, with all major landmarks present (real world and Marvel-world) and a literally ENORMOUS amount of things to do. Almost every Marvel hero is here in some fashion, including all of the X-Men, the Fantastic Four (my personal favourite), the Silver Surfer... and they are here in their classic Marvel incarnations, not the versions seen in recent films. Pretty much everyone is weaved into a massive story, involving the arrival of Galactus and his herald, Norrin Radd. The amount of content here is just mind-boggling, and to see everything in the game (which I pretty much have) you'll need to put in some serious time.Honestly, if you don't love this game, there's something wrong. Lego Avengers is good, but this is the real deal. Buy it - you won't regret it.

I think this is a great game, diverse in characters, scenarios and gameplay. But few things erk me more than not being able to save a game when I want/need to. I can't be expected to fight for a checkpoint when in reality, when I need to leave the level and shut down, it's back to square one. There's also a few time wasters like the SHIELD ship thing. Do we REALLY need to go through the 60 second elevator ride? Do we REALLY have to parachute down to the city every time we want to play? How about, when we load a game, we land exactly where we left off - if there was a proper "save" function. The game is good, but not really that intuitive sometimes, and kids will often have trouble solving puzzles.Too much techno-junk to clutter what could be a friendlier gameplay.Having said that, the characters are good, the effects are great, and I do love flying over Marvel's Manhattan as Iron Man.A solid four stars.
