Full disclosure - I was a huge fan of the first Force Unleashed game. It was actually one of those games I'd heard about before it came out and was REALLY excited to play. When it finally came around it didn't disappoint. It was one of those that felt like it delivered everything a Star Wars game where you play a Jedi - should deliver.I was even more excited to play the sequel, especially after seeing the cinematic sequel where your man Galen Merek or Starkiller, kills the Gorog.Of course that scene doesn't turn out in the game as it did in the trailer. So what is Force Unleashed 2 like? Well without spoiling the plot too much, you play Galen again, but also you don't...It seems Starkiller was killed in FU1 and you're now playing a Force Clone of Galen. Gameplay wise the most notable change is that you now wield two lightsabres rather than one.Again, as in the first game, you're playing a character who is obscenely overpowered. Many enemies are more fun to slaughter than difficult to kill. Even on harder difficulty settings. That said, this isn't an easy game. The game has various special enemies that have counters to your attacks and your force-powers, forcing you to employ different tactics and counters, especially when you are forced to confront different types of enemies at once.I'll admit, there are times in the game when you notice the samey-ness of the combat. However, the locations are varied, interesting and often beautiful if in a slightly macabre way. I will say, I think on balance TFU1 is a better game marginally, as a whole. At least in terms of combat, characters and story. However, where TFU2 falls short it makes up for in spectacular visuals, epic encounters and the fact that it's extending an already awesome story. The duel with Vader at the end of the game is tough, but rewarding. The Gorog battle, though not as epic as the trailer implied it would be, is a great set piece and one of the biggest boss battles I can recall. The bottom line is, TFU2 is a really fun with a great story. It's not flawless, but it's strengths more than make up for it's weaknesses as far as I'm concerned.

As a player of the first one, I had high hopes. The first was amazing, innovative, immerssive and interesting. When I started the game, I was blown away. The graphics of the opening cut scene were amazing and on a HD ready TV were almost as if I were watching a film. Then the game started and it was brilliant. The wielding of the twin lightsabers was a great touch on the first one, and gave the motions a fluidity I have rarely seen in a computer game. The controls were precise and easy to use, especially in comparison to the first game, and made the use of force powers easy. The story itself was not quite on a par with the first one: it mainly consisted of you trying to find Juno, the love interest from the first game. It still had the choice of whether you take dark or light side paths at the end, with different endings for each, and quite a big twist is implied, though never directly stated. On the down side of the game, the finishing combos are always the same, whereas in the first one there were 2 or 3 random ones for each enemy. Also the game is very short. It stretches over about 9 levels, but is set in only 4 places, and feels almost as if it's unfinished. All in all the game is fantastic despite it's downsides, and I hope that they make a third one to complete the story. Worth the money. On a side note, the Collectors Edition comes with extra things like a USB stick with PC themes, codes for free dlc and a really nice case. I haven't used to dlc yet, but I would say as a lover of all things "Wars", it's worth the extra cash.

I think this product is very good. They have featured fantastic things because they have a free for all and you unlock characters by collecting items. You can unlock cheats like 100% Holocron cheat and when you are Galen Marak you don't just have one lightsaber you can get 7 different ones.Light saber power crystals are good because they have different effects. There are also power points to upgrade your abilities. The story shows you how you are Darth Vader's apprentice then he makes you kill your best friend Juno but you don't. Then you escape from Kamino then you set out to kill him.The characters that you meet you don't really see them much .After a while you don't see the blind guy and Proxy nearly dies.In free for all you unlock different characters like Boba Fett and Asajj Ventress. The free for all maps are really detailed and you can take off the hazards in Jabbas sail barge there is a tie fighter blasting the little sail barges around you. Also on one of them there is a giant super laser and in the republic hanger map is very detailed and is very big. All characters on free for all have there own special ability for example proxy can shape shift Darth Vader can force strangle. On the last level you get 2 additional suits there is a good suit and an evil suit but you have to pick the side you want but if you want both of the suits you would have to play the last level twice. The enemies you encounter are very weird because they are super strange. You even battle zombies with light sabers on the last level.

I'll be honest, After watching 'Revenge Of The Sith' and completing Sw:Battlefront 2 a few years back, i kinda left Star Wars behind. I'd always heard about Force Unleashed but never went out and bought it, well recently i have purchased both games and i think they are fantastic. The Original is brilliant because of its classic gaming feel, as you scour planets in search of Jedi, killing and collecting as you go. However, i believe the second to be the stronger output in this story-line. The graphics and visuals are stunning, not to mention the completely destructible environment. The combat is alot more simplified which compliments the flow of the fighting system. The plot isn't as good as the first, showing weakness in several areas but thats always the case 8 out of 10 times with sequels. You will end up ranking up the difficulty and playing through again, if your into 'Achievements' Then a good amount of gamer-score is coming your way. The challenge mode is a great fun add on, really testing your knowledge of the force. Another great thing is the costumes and attention to detail within every character, it has the feel of a movie and you generally cannot wait for the next cutscene. Also the DLC is quite cheap in comparison too the originals 800-400 points per pack. With this one its more like 80 points per pack. All in all i think its a great game, not to be taken too seriously and i would definitely recommend the two titles too any Star Wars Fan.

I'd agree with the other reviews regarding longevity etc - but this game is still very good. Graphics are superb and the movie clips portraying the story work well. There is a lack of variety in terms of the enemy (you're constantly killing stormtroopers or droids) and also with the levels, as you return to where you started in the final level. The game play is very much improved on the first game and there are some devastating combos. A much better defence system when you can deflects shots and incoming lightsabers. You can also literally dismember the enemy as well.It certainly flows better than the first and you don't have to go back 10mins to a check point if you die - something that was quite annoying in the first game, particularly on the harder difficulty.I completed this on medium difficulty in about 6 hours or so - I'd recommend starting on Hard - at least that way you'd have more of a challenge. If this game had a few more (non-repetive)levels, I think most people would have been satisfied. Even though I've completed it, as its a Star Wars game and is expertly written and designed - I think this will be a game I can pick up and play, but maybe not as much as I did with the first one.

Right I'm a sci-fi addict and love sci-fi games. I got No.1 on Playstation (and yes i know it's a weaker version that X-Box but i didn't have one then). When I got my Box i had to buy the continuation and once again I read the reviews. They all said it was shorter than the first one, and well, it is. I found that when I played the game like an addict I finished it in less than 10 hours.(Not too sure as cannot be exact). Graphics are amazing, and I love how like in the first some of your costumes are then out in the scenes,(love that)!I loved the fact that in this he used two sabers and the moves available are rather complex to perform but apparently I got the achievement for using all saber moved(silent yay). You can mix up the saber crystals to increse how you perform(increse force, increase defence, etc.)The missions are somewhat challenging when done at the beginning and your character isn't leveled up, personally I hate the Salavation level as I find it anyoying in the engine room and just the level goes on forever.I love teh ending and teh choice between Dark and Light side as in the 1st one and once again the choices provide great cinematics.A fantastic game - 5/5 despite being short

when i first found out they were making a new force unleashed i was ecstatcic, when i found out you were gonna weild dual sabers i almost had a heart attack due to pure awesomeness!as soon as i finished the game i thought, is that it?now as far as the first one goes, the gameplay was pretty good and the story kicked ASS! but with this new one, the story was pretty bad, but the gameplay was absolutely amazing! the graphics are amazing and the combat is really addictive but the story was rather neglected, now the main story isn't bad but the light side ending was awful! but on the upside it garuantees a third installment and i for one am looking forward to where they take this series next butthe cliffhanger they left it on was terrible :/the extra's you get are pretty cool like the game scripc and concept art, but all these extra's aren't really worth the extra money. the game box is pretty awesome though, and the USB mimobot is one of those amusing novelties, but i would reccomend getting the normal version if you don't want to spend £15 on a 2gb memory stick as well.all in all its a great buy for a die-hard fan of the series, but don't expect a great storyline :/

For the lovers of Star Wars, and not, I would easily say this game is a great gift to yourself or to anyone you believe is a Trek fan. It is better than its predecessor with better graphics and more game play.If I were to criticize it, it would only be on the length of the game which seems to finish quickly if your an ace player, making the game a quick loss in the worth area, but on the other hand you can always sell it used quickly and make up for some of that loss. For a 12-16 year old the game is fast and eye catching and I wonder why they have a rating of 16 years old on it?Sometimes Sony is over protective in my opinion and this is the perfect game to exemplify this fact.I did not give it a 5 out of 5 simply because my son finished it faster than any other game at the price and genre, but loved its graphics and game play.My true and honest opinion is to find it used and cheap and enjoy it to the fullest, then sell it again. This PS3 game is worth it.Read full review...

If you bought the first Force Unleashed game then you will know just how good it was... The second game does not disappoint with it's game play, which is easily and as good, addictive and most importantly easy to pick up; that said some part are more challenging, which can be irritating at times however in my opinion this just adds to the game play, providing more motivation to get past that difficult stage. The graphics have been improved, there are less faults or slight glitches that there were with the graphics in the first game. The story of the game is slightly truncated, as you follow a pre-set path, however the quality of the game play will distract you from any short comings. To sum up then if you enjoyed the first game's game play and twist on the star wars series, then I would really recommend getting this game, and I'm sure that anyone who finds the game a little short will be provided with downloadable add-ons, as you were in the first game.

Excellent star wars game for all the wanna be jedi out there!Controls are fairly simple to master lending great game play after little learning time. The storyline is enthralling with high quality cinematics to add to the experience. Not in the same league as Knights of the old republic, although the gameplay fighting style is not turn based and adds to the fun of hurling lightsabers at stormtroopers. The only actions this game lacked were being behind a cockpit. In previous star wars games there always seemed to be a part of the game where control of a ship is needed. This game could have been enhanced that bit further with a level or two set in a "rogue squadron" style.Well worth the pricethough and an excellent game to deepen the star wars experience.Read full review...

Star Wars Force Unleashed was an average game at best and with the second game there are a few improvements with the light sabre and force upgrades to purchase with your experience points that you build up when combo killing nstorm troopers and other bad guys. Some of the Wii controls are annoying though, for instance it took us a while to figure out the force repulse to knock a load of rubble out the way after Darth Vader uses the force, I mean it says to hold one button down and then hold another button down, but it didn't say anything about holding them down at the same time.Once you get to fight Storm Troopers and bad clone line droids using the light sabre is fun and you feel like a Jedi,so with that in mind, this game is actually quite good and one worth buying...

Is a good game. Having played the previous force unleashed many things were an improvement particularly in the controls department for example moving the camera was much easier. Some of the force powers have gone or have changed slightly which does detract from the game, the a button for lightsaber I wasn't keen on but you can still hack and slash awaywith the wii-mote and smash stormtroopers off of walls to your heart's content. The mutliplayer element was also lacking in my view and was rather like super-smash brothers, which was not what I was expecting and is a stark contrast to the multiplayer in the force unleashed.Still as great fun as ever despite it's flaws and well worth a buy :).

I got this game for christmas this year and was so excited to get playing, the game itself is brilliant.A good storyline with exciting missions and a difficulty level for anyone to be able to play this game comfortabley. However as many other reviews have said, it is a tadd bit short, with only 9 chapters you do seem to fly through it, before u know it uve got Darth Vader on his knees, another 4 or 5 chapters would have been enough to make this game truly perfect........shame. Never the less its a great game to own, and worth paying the money.Fingers crossed theyll be a third installment to the saga and with a few more chapters this time lol!!!

This review is biased somewhat as I think this game is tailored for Star Wars fans...though you wouldn't buy it if you were not a Star Wars fan.Ok so it is brilliant. Anyone who played the 1st game will know what to expect - lightsabers, force powers and lots of action! The storyline is also ace. There are new force powers, such as the jedi mind trick but not sure how useful this is yet...Anyway as the title suggests, it feels just like an extension of the 1st game. Not a bad thing but don't expecting anything new. This is good however, as the 1st game was top notch.

i have only bought this episode in the series so i cant comment on an improvement, but what i can do is tell you to buy this game.it is the best star wars game i have ever played and possibly the best RPG. the graphics are amazing and it is so addictive, on my first go on the game i was so emersed in the game i played continously for 3 hours.the storyline is a bit weak but that is made up for in the stunning cinematics and dynamic fighting styles you can employ plus DOUBLE LIGHTSABERS!. in short if you dont buy this game you are missing out
