This is a really charming toy. I have a nephew who is enchanted by all kinds of large vehicles and heavy machinery, so this tractor is ticks all the boxes for him: it's appropriately big and chunky to withstand the excitable play style of a younger child, and large enough for clumsy hands; the Bertie farmer figure has solid wooden head, feed and torso, a pair of plastic hands (so they won't split with use), and chunky, poseable cord 'limbs', giving potential for lots of play; the smaller wheels on the tractor and trailer wheels are rubbery plastic to give traction plus also help protect the surface it is rolled across (the larger wheels are painted wood); Bertie also comes with a pitchfork,so he can load up the trailer with straw, twigs or other substances that need to be collected and carted away! The manufacture of Bertie and his tractor is pretty good: the tractor and trailer pieces are mostly glued together, although a few screws have been used, and the paint finish is even, bright with no chipped off areas (although a small patch of staining in the box suggests perhaps the set was packed before the paint had completely dried). The packaging is reasonable: the set is positioned behind a large perspex window, and the interior of the box is decorated to create a rural roadway scene. The wire ties used to fix the toy to the inner packaging are mercifully easy to remove (didn't need scissors - just un-twist them), although there are multiple plastic 'washers' used to stop the ties tearing the cardboard and a large chunk of expanded polystyrene padding out the base - so unfortunately several pieces of plastic waste that won't get recycled.I think it's a bit of a shame that Bertie's body-warmer/waistcoat is the only item of his clothing that can be removed - if all his clothing could be removed (so he could be dressed up in different ways), there would be more play value. On the other hand, you only risk losing one piece of his clothing! Another design feature I would like to see is the trailer incorporating a hinged back piece, so it can be opened and emptied; it's glued and fixed shut.Overall, this a great toy, and little boys and girls will have hours of fun setting Bertie and his bright red tractor all manner of tasks around the home and garden.

I fell in love with this bus when i took it out the box on the 5th December 2015 i knew instantly my little 2 year old would love it too, not only did it look every bit like a London bus it had a good weight to it and on looking closer the wheels had big rubber treads, the roof lifts off to access the top floor of bus and the top floor lifts off to access the bottom floor, it entirely up to to child who gets to ride on this great looking bus and of coarse Mr Budkin the bus driver! This bus has given countless hours of fun with my daughter and her little friends its had so many bumps kids have sat on it over the past 4 years and it actually looks no different from when i took it out of its boxfor Christmas 2015.Its testimony to its superior quality. An absolute must for any child who enjoys playing with cars lorries and buses, I'm a great believer in you get what you pay for and some may think this bus is a little expensive, but considering the countless hours of fun for my little one and at times her friends over the past 4 years this is an outstanding toy. After reading some of the other reviews id just like to add my daughter who was 2 years old at the time kept taking the rubber wheels of also so we put them away and put them back on once she d out grown this little obsession the rubber wheels being off does effect playing with bus!

I received this item through the Amazon Vine programme. This is a very well constructed traditional wooden toy tractor, trailer and farmer, harking back to an almost Victorian style of toy making. It's very simple, details like the engine and the tyre treads being painted on. It's a lovely thing and the child you are buying it for will in all probability be able to pass it on to their grandchildren: you'd have to throw it off the roof to break it. The trailer tyres and the front wheels of the tractor have rubber grips, the farmer has plastic hands to enable him to grasp his pitchfork in either hand, but other than those things the entire item is solid wood. Initially I though the £29 price tag was expensive, but considering what you pay for some plastic toy that will be in the dustbin in a matter of months it isn't really expensive at all bearing in mind you are probably getting generations of play value. My 3 year old grandson loved it. One thing to bear in mind if you are giving this as a gift on a birthday or Xmas morning is that it will take an adult ten minutes to get it out of it's box: it's really well secured! A toy that isn't a waste of money: recommended.

This is a lovely, well made wooden tractor toy, complete with trailer and Farmer Bertie figure. The tractor is made from chunky wooden pieces which, for the most part, are painted in strong colours. The paint job includes detail of the engine, front grille, and even features a couple of splashes of 'mud' along the sides of the engine. Although most of the tractor is painted, the column of the steering wheel and the hitch for the trailer are both finished with just a clear varnish; and the paint job itself is thick enough to cover, but not so thick that the textured grain of the wood can't still be seen. There are a couple of non wooden elements - Bertie himself has plastic hands (and a wired body),and has a plastic pitchfork (this is the only really flimsy feeling element), whilst the smaller front wheels of the tractor and the trailer have textured rubbery tyres. The size is ideal for preschool-aged children.

This is a really cute little tractor, it would make a great gift as visually looks lovely with nice detailed paintwork, a vintage feel and a traditional farmer removable figure, complete with pitch fork! It's not as large or chunky as other toy tractors we own, it's more delicately made and the trailer isn't huge, we don't have any wooden animals from this range but my daughter fits about 2 or maybe 3 of her duplo animals inside. It feels quite sturdy and has already been dropped a few times and has survived with no damage which is a good sign. There are a couple of bits that haven't been finished particularly well however, the paintwork on the steering wheel is blotchy and there is a small part of the trailer where the paint has completely chipped off to reveal the wood underneath. For this reason I've given it four stars.

My three yer old has a wooden farm and farmyard carpet in his bedroom and this tractor was a lovely addition. The colours are bright without being out of character for farming equipment. It is also a very sturdy toy and I can see it is built to last. The coupling to attach the trailer is large enough that it's easy for my three year old to put it on, but it also stays attached to the tractor when pulled along. He is tractor mad and has had a few that don't stay together well - he gets frustrated when the trailer pops off and he loses interest.I did have a little fight with the plastic ties holding the farmer in the box. He still has the ties around his ankles as my scissors aren't thin enough to get between his leg and the plastic tie,so I can't cut them off. My 3 year old hasn't noticed this yet.

I got this bus as a Christmas present for my toddler who has been pointing at the London buses on his way to nursery. The bus is sturdy and hasn't broken yet despite many accidents on my toddler's bus route with his bus overturning. He also likes sitting on it and has been quite rough with it. The only annoying thing is the rubber bit around the tyres seem to get dislodged quite easily and it makes it difficult for the bus to move when that happens. We ended up taking the rubber bit off so as not to cause my toddler more frustration when the bus can't move properly and it seems to work better without it.He loves having his very own london bus and loves putting his budkins passengers on and off as he travels along his imaginary bus route

I love wooden toys, there’s far too much plastic around and there’s nothing like the feel and sturdiness of wood. The tractor, trailer and farmer Bertie, with his flat cap and pitchfork are so cute! This is the sort of toy that stands the test of time and is passed on to other children to enjoy. It’s brightly coloured, a classic shiny red tractor and Bertie is dressed up in his farmyard finery of waistcoat, checked shirt and green trousers, complete with belt. The toys are hand finished and made from sustainable wood.I definitely need to get the matching set of farm animals, can’t have a farm within them.Great value for such a well made and good sized wooden toy.Hope you found my reviewhelpful.

This is acually, a quite charming and somewhat old fashioned toy from Le Toy Van. Made in solid wood and colourfully painted and detailed, the tractor and truck is aimed, I guess, at boys aged 3+. Although of course, there is no reason why a girl of this age should not have a tractor to play with! No gender stereotyping please Le Van Toy!I will though be giving it to a grand son as they are closer to the appropriate age range. The set conists of a red tractor, trailer and Bertie the farmer and I'm sure it will be well used and will prove sturdy enough to be passed on to other children when a child has outgrown it.A nice Xmas or birthday gift.

This sizeable wooden tractor would be a great gift for a 3yr old child and makes an important addition to any toy farm. It features a bold red paint job, giving it a retro type appearance. The little mud splatters by the wheels are also a nice touch. It comes with a trailer that is both easily detachable and able to stay hitched when the tractor is pushed along. Also included is a cute little farmer figure to drive it.The materials used are durable, well finished and ethically sourced. Having owned a number of toys from this brand I can vouch for the high quality and care they put into products such as this.

This tractor is great! Very sturdy so far, colours are vibrant, farmer figure comes out and can be played with separately.Tractor itself is rather large, great for kids 3+ , wheels turn easily and trailer is easy to detach and attach back.Product arrived with leaflet showing other products from Le Toy and you can buy more products from farm series like farm house or animals that you can later on transport in the trailer. The edges are soft and well finished. The most important for me is that it's made with non toxic paints/materials. Its wooden which is totally recyclable material.Great toy for a toddler.

We absolutely love this toy tractor. Rara (Grandad) has a tractor for real, and so this toy provides hours of delight emulating him! The wooden build feels lovely and it's a great size. However, it is also really quite expensive. Not an issue if the quality matches it - as you'd expect a toy like this to last for years. But some other reviewers have complained about parts breaking quickly - although we haven't had any issue with this product, this has been a problem with other Le Toy Van products, which is a bit off-putting.Overall - a lovely toy, question marks over the quality and therefore the value.

This Le Toy Van Berties Tractor is a colourful traditional real wood tractor. Is all made in wood and very good painted and finished. My first thought was that was expensive but when I received I really like it. Is bigger as I expected too, I really like this wood toys you can have it for years. The tractor has this little farmer very realistic too with his hat very cute. They coming in a nice box if you want it for a present, they can use less plastic on the box too. A part of this I like it and the colours are really great. Kids really like to play with this tractor and put everything on the back.

In the range of Le Van Toy products we have had, they have all proved to be well-made, safe and well-loved. This tractor and trailer is no exception. The design is not authentic but closer to what children see in their story books and on Children's TV.Play value is good. Expect to buy allied toys to extend the play value.Only niggle for me, I find the hands a bit unsettling. The g-son is not bothered but they do give me a little shudder - a bit alien. But I am not the one playing happily with it.UPDATE: July 2020 This is still in good condition and is played with constantly

Truly fantastic toy. Its nice and big. Made of sustainable wood. Made in Britain. Lovely colours. Little one loved it.You can buy additional wooden farmers to go with it and a huge barn, just do a search for wooden farmers budkins, you can get Rosie who is the famers wife, and The Milk Maid, who has no name. We have the Wooden Farm animals set which goes perfectly with this tractor, look up B0038E5FYQ.Im so pleased to see wooden toys make a come back, not only are they better for the environment, but they look awesome and they last longer.
