This set will fit in nicely in the play world of a child who’s got Brio-style trains and other vehicles- it’s the same scale and fits seamlessly (apart from the traffic cones which are absurdly big of course, but easier to play with than they would be if they’d made them the correct scale!). Some of them can even roll along Brio-style wooden track, if that’s the kind of thing that’s allowed in your kid’s domain. Each one has different moving parts which keeps things interesting- nothing complex or clever, just a couple of moving parts to make each one a bit more engaging. They tap in very directly to the apparently quite universal obsession that three- or four-year-old kids seem to develop with industrial vehicles, something I’ve never personally understood but it clearly happens! It’s four stars for me, rather than five, for one main reason- in terms of build quality, it’s only OK, not great. At time of writing this is a fairly expensive set- you’ll find cheaper alternatives- and the extra price isn’t really justified by it being a better quality product. It’s not *bad*, it’s just average, and I’m not too surprised that other reviewers have mostly been happy, but some have complained about broken pieces.Nevertheless, if your child loves driving construction vehicles around in his imagination, this is still going to be a hit.

I bought this set of toy vehicles to complement the Le Toy Van Playmat and as you would expect they go with it very well. I much prefer 'old school' style toys that are usually made out of wood as oppose to plastic toys, as they have the potential to last longer and be more durable. The quality of these toys is very good indeed, and there is also a good variety of different types of vehicle meaning that you can invent all sorts of different scenarios with your little ones. Something for everyone. At the time of the review my 4 and 2 yr old have played with these toys a lot and really enjoy them, and despite a lot of play-time with them they show very little wear indeed. Being wood they are almost indestructible, but what is particularly pleasing is that the paint has not chipped off at all. They look as good as new!The only bad thing about toys like this is that in the wrong hands they are deadly weapons!! These toys can do some damage if thrown around or somebody gets hit by them, but of course that would be true of all wooden toys.Buy these, they are good!!

This is the second purchase of Le Toy Van cars we have bought for our toddler. While these may not be made from solid oak (I believe they are MDF or similar) they are nicely designed, the wheels and axles feel solid and they take a good beating. The packaging was also noticeably presentable and had no unnecessary plastic ties etc. The paint finish is fairly solid but don't expect it to stand up to a few dozens crashes, tosses and rolls across the floor. It will eventually start to wear. What was important for us was the confidence that these items are over engineered to the point loose pieces would not be found by our 1 year old, which I have complete faith in as they are solidly built. These are slightly more expensive than some of the competitors but I fell in love with the design. They have a certain "je nais ce quoi" as their website claims, that some other designs do not. Having already purchased the small 3 piece retro set and the London set, we look forward to expanding the collection in-time for Christmas.

Beautiful bright and colourful set of wooden transport vehicles. From 3+ but under supervision can allow your toddlers an earlier chance to play. My 15 month grandchild loved that he could hold each item and quickly knew what each one represented. He loved the big red bus and was happy to sing along with the classic wheels on the bus.Well balanced and with a nice weight these wonderful miniture models are a delight to look at and play with.Le Toy Van is getting a reputation for great wooden toys that can boost a child's imagination and enhance their creative play.I prefer wood to other formats; takes me perhaps back to my own childhood but is reassuring both on its feel and its impact on the environment.London has as a new transport system - long may LTV prosper and florish.I will be checking out other items and enjoying play with my grandchild.

My 8-year-old's review: "I like the cars. The wheels work good and they drive smoothly. The wood doesn't give me any splinters. And I like that there is a hole to put the petrol in. And I like that the cars have (fake) lights on top of them, like the emergency lights, and the yellow light for the taxi."My 4-year-old son's review: "I wish the cars would drive by themselves and only one drives fast - the racing car." (Hard to please that one.)My kids can be seen playing with these cars in the attached video (which is also on YouTube in better quality). I think they enjoyed them very much (as they also do the doughnuts in the video) and it is good that the cars came in a set, rather than just in ones,so they can have a little town going right from the get go. It's also refreshing to have a toy that doesn't require batteries.

Simple, well designed and easy to play with. You can't ask for much more at this price point. A crane, back loader, "JCB", dump truck & roller - all with moving elements such as wheels, bucket, jib or crane hook. Includes 2x over sized traffic cones. These 7x elements all come together in a child's hands, be it indoors or out in the garden. Obviously being hand painted they will wear and succumb to knocks and damage through day to day play, but hopefully this won't detract from any long term appeal to the child or children - only time will tell but being designed & made to EN-71 some assurance should be had for parents and gift givers alike. There is, apparently,a huge range of other toys and play elements available from Le Toy Van - i'm off to seek out more like this !

This is a great little set for imaginative role play and for fans of Construction sites and Diggers. My little ones love these and have been a nice addition to their small world toys. The set contains 5 wooden vehicles with plastic details such as the roller, the crane buckets and the tip up truck etc. They feel well made and we do love wooden toys. Not sure on the durability with my little ones using them for extreme car stunts on their ramps but their certainly being enjoyed! The set also contains little traffic cones to add to the play. These are especially great fun to use in the sand pit to actually do a bit of digging and are lasting well so far!Lovely little set for any child with an interest in building vehicles!

These cars and the packaging were a complete hit. Bought these for my 2 year old nephew for his birthday and out of the many gifts he got this was his favourite. He absolutely loved taking them out of the box and putting them back in (with a little help as they are not quite meant for that and so can get stuck). The quality is fantastic, they seem very durable as were dropped many times without any denting. I love the variety and my nephew enjoyed saying “car” or “neenor” as he took each one out. This gift brought many hours of fun and continue to do so, much to his dads annoyance as his fancy remote control car didn’t get a look in - in fact it got kicked out of the way several times to playwith his wooden cars.

I really like this le toy london set and so does my daughter (nearly 2 but I think she'll like 'em for ages to come). They are solid, colourful and nice to handle and make a nice traffic jam which, if you live in a large city (London?) then your kids will know all about such things and enjoy recreating them on the floor! Nice present and/or nice to own. I think we'll probably get her the le toy garage for her birthday so she can expand her play with them. By the way - They don't have any opening doors or anything but each one has a little hole in the back which I presume is for the petrol pump to fit into if you get the garage. They are quite light so wouldn't do terrible harm if chucked and seem pretty well made.

These are chunky wooden construction toys with a plastic finish. Hand painted with realistic markings, these have a solid and robust feel. The wheels move and the parts lift up and down (see photo of articulated truck). This is old-fashioned toy (boy?) play at its best. Load the dumper truck with small lego building blocks and fuel the imagination by piling up pieces of rubbish to be removed. This is ideal play and encourages eye to hand co-ordination and discovery of cause and effect.Incidentally, my 21 month old granddaughter was fascinated with these and loved wheeling them up and down, looking at how they moved across the floor.

You can't beat Le Toy Van for quality and this wooden London-themed play vehicle set is no exception. The vehicles are beautifully painted, with intricate detailing like door handles and grills, and are all sized proportionally to each other. They are also built to last, with wheels that are firmly affixed so they won't fall off even at the hands of the most boisterous child! Our boisterous three-year old loves his Le Toy Van vehicles and will play with them for hours on end. Although, my only criticism is that I wouldn't describe a classic sports car as an iconic London vehicle, but I'm not sure I've heard our little one complain! :)

Another thumbs up from us for Le Toy Van. This wooden London car set is a hit. As soon as they arrived, my niece excitedly said, “Mummy are these mine”, whilst jumping up and down with joy!Well presented in a box, there are 7 wooden vehicles including a police car, ambulance, fire engine, black cab, double decker bus and two sports cars.My niece has a wooden garage and loves parking the vehicles and whizzing them up and down the ramps. The wheels are smooth so very easy to move these around from one end of the room to the other.A great set for toddlers which will encourage a lot of imaginative play.

Wooden toys are generally much sturdier than their plastic counterparts, and this construction vehicle set does seem to be well made and should be long lasting. Some of the components are plastic; the tipper part of the truck and the scoop of the diggers etc, but generally the quality looks good. The wheels look as if they won't fall off at the slightest bit of boisterous play, and the painted detail is very realistic on the vehicles. It's a nice set, with a good range of vehicles to stimulate some imaginative play, and comes with two road cones as well. What more could a child want.

This is a nice set of wooden toy vehicles. Others, I see, have issues with the quality, but they seem alright to me, albeit one car appeared to have a slight knock when getting it out of the packet. What I do appreciate is that, because they are based (loosely at times) on London vehicles, they look much like the ones we see throughout the UK: fire engines and police cars are marked like British ones, black cabs look like the ones in our city too (rather than the New York style ones other sets have) and the red Routemaster must be the most iconic bus in the country. Good stuff.

2.6.2019

Although these are appealing, attractive little painted wooden construction vehicles, I’m not as keen on them as I could be. Each of the vehicles has a wooden core ‘body’ section, but then includes plastic moving components and wheels. The painted/printed sections are more detailed than some wooden construction vehicle toys, but the plastic bits – including the scoop on the digger, the arm holding the wheel on the roller, and the crane arm – all feel a bit less robust than you’d hope.At full price, these work out at a little under £4 per vehicle, which really isn’t bad.
