Okay, let's get the obvious, inevitable grumble about Nectar Thermique out of the way. It's expensive. It's ludicrously expensive. If your hair is shoulder length or longer, you'll get through a bottle every six weeks, making it RUINOUSLY expensive. Charging for postage on top? Well, that's just plain cheeky and WRONG, and I've taken off a star by way of punishment. But as the advert for Kerastase's owner L'Oreal goes, "You're worth it". In fact, we moptops with badly-behaved hair NEED it. I know Nectar Thermique works, because when I try to economise with something cheaper, my hair never looks or feels as good.Nectar Thermique is my desert island must-have.I've now been using it for three years and it's the only hair product that I buy over and over again. I have long, curly hair which is highlighted every eight weeks, and straightened into submission with GHDs daily. Yet, in spite of all this abuse, my hair is still soft and (fairly) shiny. More importantly, I don't have one single split end. Not one. Seriously, come round to my house and check if you don't believe me.Here's how it works:1) Wash your hair with any old shampoo. (I used Kerastase shampoo for ages because I was daft enough to believe the hairdresser hype about "products developed to work together"; then the new age of austerity forced me to experiment with my husband's Head & Shoulders. No discernible harm resulted, and £15 a month was saved).2) There's no need for a slime-on-then-wait-five-minutes-then-wash-out conditioner. Just wrap your hair in a towel and eat breakfast. You're aiming for hair that's still fairly wet, but not dripping, so the time it takes to eat your toast is ideal.3) Squeeze out a fifty-pence-piece sized dollop of Nectar Thermique (also how much it's costing, gulp). Rub your hands together so it's nicely spread across your palms. Now tip your head upside down and stroke - don't rub - your hands through the ends of your hair. Slowly work your way up, with your head still upside down so you're keeping the product away from your roots. If you have longer hair, you may need to repeat this step with a little more product. It's very easy to misjudge the right amount: you'll know you've used enough when your hair feels 'slippery'. If it feels sticky, you've used too much, but just mop up the excess with your towel.4) Once you're at 'slippery', comb your hair with a wide-toothed comb or detangling brush. You'll be amazed at the lack of knots or pulling. At this stage your hair will smell of slightly-off melon, but don't fret, the smell disappears once your hair is dry.5) If you need straightening serum or curling mousse, use it now, but only use a third as much as you would normally.6) Blowdry and use heat-styling tools as needed.7) Once your hair is completely dry, squeeze out a tiny, tiny amount of Nectar Thermique, emulsify over your palms again, and calm down flyaways and ends. You can also leave the hair to dry naturally after step 4. (My natural curls become more pronounced and shiny if I do this, but feel a little crunchy to the touch). So here's the bottom line: I will never have the rich, bouncy, glossy hair I crave, but Nectar Thermique makes it look and feel healthier than I deserve, considering how badly I treat it. It doesn't give me spots on my forehead, many a leave-in conditioner's downfall. I love not having to condition my hair in the shower any more. I love not having sticky hands when I flick away my fringe. Best of all, I love not having split ends - which means I don't need to have my hair cut so frequently. At nigh-on £20, it's never going to be really "worth it", but until there's a cheaper alternative, Nectar Thermique is the hairdressing holy grail.

I'm totally thrilled with this product as it's so easy to use & makes my hair silky, shiny, smooth and bouncy. I have very thick, corse hair, highlighted & usually full of tangles after washing & conditioning. However, the tangles disappear when this product is used on towel dried hair just before blow drying. Once dried I use a heated curler on my hair & since using this product I have next to no hair breakage or split ends. I've spent years & years attempting to get my hair in such good condition & looking so good, without success until I found this product. I'm getting loads of compliments about my hair & it's all down to Kerastance Nectar Thermique. It has a lovely scent, too.Now that I've found this I'll never be without it. I highly recommend it for anyone with course, over-heated, damaged hair. It lasts a very long time & is worth every penny. Kerastance may be expensive but their products are the very best.

I've considered buying Kerastase products on numerous occasions but have not been able to justify the expense. However, after years of colouring my hair (albeit at a salon rather than at home), combined with the approach to the wrong end of my 40s, I've thrown caution to the wind and splashed the cash. And I'm so glad I did! I've only used this twice and already my hair feels so much better. On the first occasion I added a 10p-size amount to towel-dried hair and actually left my hair to dry naturally. When I straightened it the next morning, I noticed how much sleeker my hair was, with considerably less flyaways. The second time, I applied the same amount to dry hair before straightening and again,my hair looked a lot less frizzy. It is expensive however I feel (so far) that it's worth the money, and based on this experience, am now considering purchasing Kerstase shampoo and condition.

Due to the price I spent ages researching and debating this product but finally ordered it as a treat to myself, and amazingly it was waiting for me at home when I got back from having my hair trimmed. I washed my hair the next day and once my hair had dried to where it was damp, I tipped my head upside down as suggested by another reviewer to keep it away from my roots and smoothed a small amount through my hair. I blowdried and straightened it and all yesterday and today I couldn't stop touching and running my hands through it and just looking at it in the mirror, my hair is already quite healthy because I'm very careful with heat protection but my hair has never felt this good. It's so incredibly soft and very shiny but rather than being weighed down like most leave-in products will do to my hair, it feels so light and soft, almost floaty while being sleek and frizz-free.

I have fairly thick, half curly dyed hair. When I recently had blonde highlights redone, my hair really suffered. When I washed it, it was matted from the roots. A small blob of Thermique easily spreads throughout my hair, and it detangles instatntly. The product is not at all heavy or greasy, it feel silky - I don't even feel the need to wash my hands afterwards, as it seems to make them soft too!My hair looks shiny and soft. I havent been using it for long, so I can't comment on long term damage prevention, but I've never used a product which is as effective at detangling and leaving hair manageable.

I haven’t actually used this yet..... but I ordered it to replace my salon bought one which, is exactly the same product, and has almost run out.I have highlighted shoulder length hair, which does get very dry, conditioner isn’t quite enough, especially once it is towel dried, I would struggle to get the comb through it, I put a 10 pence piece amount on my hand, rub them together and work through my hair, and viola, the comb glides through, it is a great price, much cheaper than I paid in the salon. I can highly recommend without hesitation.

I recently bought this and have been using it for about a week which is enough time for me to identify that although it is a good conditioner in most ways (smells fab, eliminates static, not too heavy and keeps my hair smooth and shiny) it isn't so good at performing one main task of a conditioner and that's detangling. For some strange reason it's quite a poor detangler. That's why I've not given it 5 stars.Bit pricey too but it's a rich cream and you don't need to use a lot so it should last for a few months at least.

I never write reviews but felt I had to for this product. I have dry hair that over time has become a hassle to straighten, taking about 20 minutes. I used this product this morning. I applied it to damp hair and dried it and thought it seemed flatter than normal, which was good . I then straightened my hair in about 5 minutes. Which is a first. I've been out in the cold all morning and would normally start to get bigger and kink, and it still looks great. Very pleased. I'd highly recemmond it.

My hair is fairly thick, wavy and bleached which means extra care and having to be careful with all my products in order to maintain a healthy look. This is one of my 5 products I keep using year after year. Spread along the length of the hair while still damp, wrap up hair in towel again and leave in for another 20 mins before blow dry and voila- easy to brush through hair which feels silky, organised and strong. LOVELY smell too.

Makes my hair looks shiny. Don't know if it is actually helping my hair in any way and doesn't seem any difference than without using the product. The product smells and looks like body cream. At first I questioned whether I should be putting it on my head. I like the product. The brand name does make it quite expensive though and I am sure there is something that is cheaper that does the exact same thing.

I was recommended this product whilst on a cruise to Vietnam. I had a bad experience from colouring my hair myself ready to go on holiday, my hair was in poor condition so I went to the cruise line hairdressers who recommended this product. You only use a pea size amount if this product every time you use heat on your hair. Excellent results. The first tube lasted about a year so worth every penny.

Kerastase protects hair from the heat while blow drying or using tongs. A tiny amount is all that you need to give the hair a smooth natural healthy looking shine after blow drying. A high gloss finish is easily achieved by using the product in conjunction with heated tongs. I have used Kerastase for a couple of years and wouldn't dream of changing to a different product.

Simply can't get by without it. Have used it for years on my thick, slightly coarse hair. When I tell people my hair is naturally as such, they find it hard to believe as it looks healthy, bouncy and smooth (although not flat and lack lustre). All down to this product.I have shoulder length, thick, hair and one of these tubes lasts me about a year. Goes a long way.

I have thick long hair and hate using product on my hair. Just a tiny amount of this on damp hair before styling has made an amazing difference to my hair. It doesn't weigh your hair down - I like hair with lots of volume, which this gives me, with hair that looks in gorgeous condition. It beats every other heat defense product I've used.

I first tried a sample of this product that came with a magazine. I liked it so much that I bought more. It really does leave my hair shinier and healthier looking. It is also easier to control after blow drying. You only need a small amount if your hair is short like mine. I really do like it far more than anything else I've tried.
